Curtis, Ivy Madison

Ivy Madison Curtis, age 3 of Belleville, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at her home. She was born January 20, 2005 in Russellville to Terry & Holly Curtis.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Rita Gribsy, great-grandfather Wesley Keeney & great-grandmother, Myrtle A. Delventhal.

Survivors include her parents, Terry & Holly Curtis; sisters, Katina Curtis & Claire Curtis of Plainview; grandparents, John Keeney of Plainview, Jane Hunt of Bowling Green, OH, Rick Curtis of Hamler, OH; great grandparents, Paralee Keeney of Danville, Audrey Hagemyer of Bowling Green, OH; aunts & uncles, Tammy & Lester Thomas, Bryan Buddy Keeney of Plainview; great-aunts, Ann Roberts and Veta Richard of Plainview.

Joseph Andrew "Joe" Curtis, 57, at Casa died Saturday, November 26, 2011. He was born February 19, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Floyd Curtis.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brixey Curtis; children, Randy and Pam Brixey and Joseph A. "Joey", Jr.. and Clara Curtis all of Russellville; Michael and Pam Curtis and Samantha Curtis all of Casa; sisters, Rachel McNeely of London; Nancy Perdue of Chicago, Illinois, Anna Curtis of Chicago, Mary Gracia of California, fourteen grandchildren.

Curtis, Lorene Potter

Lorene Potter Curtis, age 55, of Story, AR. departed this life March 9, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. She was born December 25, 1943 in Aly, AR. to the late Marshall and Lydi Beatrice (Cain) Potter.

Survivors include her husband, John Henry Curtis; two daughters, Teresa Curtis and Yvonne Curtis; three sons, Billy Wayne, Terry Shane and Gary Bryan Curtis; three grandchildren, Kayla Curtis and Brian and Erica Curtis and many cousins and friends.

Funeral service was March 12th at Muddy Creek Church of God with Rev. Jimmy Scott and Rev. Johnnie Bratton officiating. Curtiss, Madelyn (Ellis)

Madelyn Ellis Curtiss, 87, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, February 8, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. A daughter of the late Capt. Jeff and Pearl Miks Ellis and widow of Lt. Col. Worth M. Curtiss, she was a graduate of Dardanelle High School and Saint Paul's School of Nursing at Dallas. She was an Army nurse, achieving the rank of first lieutenant and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and served with the 124th Evacuation Hospital in France and Germany. She was an American Red Cross nurse for 40 years and was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3141, Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs and Dardanelle Garden Club and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith L. Bost of Dardanelle, a brother, Jeff Ellis Jr. of Newport; two sisters, Adele Crocker of Russellville and Emma Desilet of Concordia, Kan.; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, February 11 at Dardanelle Funeral Service chapel by the Rev. Nancy Covington. Burial was private by Dardanelle Funeral Service. Cyrus, Earline Fox

Earline Fox Cyrus, age 87, of Temple, died at her residence. She was born in Arkansas to J. A. Fox and Laura Haney Fox. She was married to Clyde H. Cyrus on Dec. 27, 1933 and lived most of her life in Cherokee. She and her husband, who preceded her in death on February 3, 1995 owned a Guaranty Abstract office in Cherokee. She taught history at Waller Jr. High School in Enid, OK. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Northwestern University in Alva, OK. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the PEO in Cherokee, where she lived prior to moving to Temple in 1993.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Cyrus of Naples, FL; three daughters, Shirley Gaines of Temple, Sylvia Gyrus of Cherokee and Dr. Cathrine Cyrus of Avon, CT; a sister, Georgia Parker of Danville, AR and nine grandchildren. Service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Cherokee, OK with the Rev. Roland Youngberg officiating.

Dabbs, Lillie Ruth

Lillie Ruth Dabbs, age 81, of Little Rock, AR, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Little Rock. She was born April 11, 1925, in Carlsbad, N. M. to the late Granville and Bernice Castleberry Caviness. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stewart R. Dabbs, as well as her brother, John D. Caviness and sister, Dorothy L. Caviness.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol & Fred Belote of Jacksonville and Melissa & Mike Compton of Little Rock, brother, Kenneth L. & Vanessa Caviness of Los Angeles, CA, three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were March 30, 2007 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Little Rock with Rev. John Flemming officiating. Dabbs, Stewart Richard

Stewart Richard Dabbs, age 81, of Little Rock, AR died Friday, October 31, 1997. He was born in Little Rock where he graduated from Little Rock High School, later receiving his B. A. degree from Hendrix College in 1937. After his involvement in World War II as a Captain in the army, in a tank destroyer unit, he returned to Little Rock beginning his career with the 555 Wholesale Appliance Company working there for 28 years before his retirement. He was very active with his church, St. Paul United Methodist. He succumbed after an eight year battle with Alzheimers at the North Little Rock Veteran's Hospital where he received the finest of care by the staff of Unit 1-D.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Ruth Caviness Dabbs of Little Rock; two daughters, Carol and her husband, Fred Belote of Jacksonville, AR and Melissa and her husband, Mike Compton of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Lisa and Cary Belote, Leslie Dunn and her husband, David and one great grandchild, Nathan Dunn.

A memorial service was held Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. John Christie. Burial of remains will be 11:00 a. m. at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Briggsville, AR Saturday, November 8, 1997. Dacus, Amon Dana

Amon Dana Dacus was born February 12, 1927 in Chickalah, Yell Co., Arkansas and grew up in Northeast Louisiana. He left this earthly life June 14, 2011 at age 84.

Born to George Ulysses and Bessie Dacus, the 5th of 6 children and was preceded in death by all.

Married 60 years, he is survived by his wife Laura Carter Dacus, 2 daughters - Cathryn Scroggins, Angela Hackney and husband Don and one son Stephen Carter Dacus and wife Sheila. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Amon was a signalman in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II, a graduate of LSU and University of Georgia with degrees in Agronomy. He had careers with Allied Chemical, Rio Farms and Thompson Hayward Chemical. Amon was a pioneer in green house tomatoes and in the sugar industry in the Rio Grande Valley and was the co-author of numerous technical publications. He also worked for Tropical Texas Center for MHMR and farmed sugar cane in the valley with F.C. Schaeffer and Associates. He retired in 1989 and travelled and consulted extensively through the world. He was a deacon and a life long worker for the Lord. In retirement he worked in Christian missions in Austria, Poland and Honduras and worked with World Bible School and Eastern European Missions. Memorial contributions made to WBS or EEM through the Longmire Church of Christ.

She was a retired registered nurse for the Missouri Pacific Hospital, a member of the Life Line Baptist Church, where she played piano for her Sunday School Class for several years. She was a 1933 Belleville High School graduate.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Parthina Russell; her sister, Billie Lee Casper; and her son, David Wayne Daily.

Jo was survived by her husband of 53 years, E. D. Daily; two daughters Carol and Debbie, her son-in-law Marc Tucker, 4 grandsons: Evan Batton, Brandon, Tyler and Todd Tucker and 5 granddaughters: Cassandra Sweeting, Chelsea Stanton, Chrystal, Tyna and Sadra Daily and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Cornwell Funeral Chapel with Brother Joe Yates officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Dale, John Willie

John Willie Dale, age 77, of Centerville died Thursday, April 5, 1984 at his home. He was the son of the late William Leonard and Viola Strait Dale, and was a retired store owner.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Syble Floyd Dale; two sons, Bill Dale of Little Rock and Jerry George of Casa; five daughters, Johnnie Hawkins of Austin, Texas Peggy Giles of Bryant, Betty Bly of Ola, and Patsy Freeman and Terry Renouf of Kenai, Alaska; a brother, Cecil Dale Sr. of Danville, and several grandchildren.

Dale, Leo L.

Leo L. Dale, age 84, of Danville, AR died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born September 28, 1919 in Yell County to the late Ernest and Maggie Gandy Dale. He retired after thirty five years as a program assistant with Agriculture, Stabilization and Conservation Service USDA and was a member of the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Smith Dale; a brother, Selba Dale and a sister Johnnie Grace Hester.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis "Jeannie" and Robert Mudd of Lake Jackson, TX; a granddaughter, Lyndsay Shannon Mudd of Lake Jackson, TX and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Service was April 30 at Cornwell Chapel, Danville with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Pallbearers were Larry Stanberry, Stan Garner, Hoyt Dale, Jr. Dale, Tracy Pool and Jim Ray Holbrook. Honorary were A. C. Mowery, Al Kennedy, JJ Wilcox and Gordon Rhoades. Mildie Estell Dale, age 94, off Danville, AR died Friday, November 17, 2000 at Chamber Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born October 3, 1906 in the Omega Community. She was the daughter of the late James Henry and Mozuria Elizabeth Martin Pennington. She had taught school at the Omega School and the Date Bend Number Nine School District. She had retired from the family business, Cecil Dale Gasoline Distributor. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and the Danville Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Cecil R. Dale, Sr. on March 10, 1993; a brother, Hugh Pennington and two sisters, Addie Pennington and Jane McMullen.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Hoyt and Willene Dale of Plainview, AR and Cecil "Jr. " and Joanne Dale of Danville, AR; five grandchildren, Chris and Steven Dale both of Russellville, AR; Debra Hawkins of Plainview, AR; Ronnie Bradford and Dolores Bye both of Russellville, AR; four great grandchildren and one brother Lloyd Pennington of Perryville, AR.

Selma M. Dale, age 71, of Danville, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at Chambers memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born August 30, 1929, in Casa, AR to the late William Franklin and Cora Ethel Jaynes Smith. She was a homemaker, mother, and a member of the Casa Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Love C. Smith and William F. Smith, and a sister, Mildred Mode.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Leo Dale; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis "Jeannie" and Robert Mudd, of Lake Jackson, TX; twin brother and sister-in-law, Sammy Faye and Ruby Lee Smith, of Casa; a sister, Oleta Irene Walker, of North Little Rock, AR; and a granddaughter, Lyndsay Shannon Mudd, of Lake Jackson, TX.

Anna Lou Daly, age 65 of Dardanelle, died November 20, 2002 at Lake Mead Hospital Las Vegas, Nevada. Born June 23, 1937 in the lower Spring Creek Community near Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Milas and Leta Rogers Hale. She was a housewife and mother, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle, and a member of Bay Ridge Ladies Golf Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carrie Madden, Syble Kirkwood, Lavada Knight, and Melba Clack, and a brother Loy Hale.

Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Jim Daly of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia Kim and Tom Toth of Granbury, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Cathy Daly of Dardanelle, and John and Sherrie Daly of Dardanelle; six grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Toth of Granbury, TX, Shynah and Sierra Daly of Florida, Morgan Daly of Dardanelle, and Austin Daly of Dardanelle; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry Pozarek of Roseville, CA.; a sister, Wanda Coffey of Fair Oaks, CA, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at the Dardanelle Community Center with the Rev. Nancy Covington officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home Dardanelle. Funeral services were Friday, October 25, 2002, 2:00 p. m. at the Ola Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Burial was in Sandlin Cemetery, Ola, Arkansas by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. He is preceded in death by his father.
