Diehl, George L.

George L. Diehl, age 73, a resident of Ola, AR. died Thursday, February 25, 1999 at the Dardanelle Hospital in Dardanelle, AR. He was born on January 20, 1926 at Little Rock, AR. to Theodore and Alice (Turley) Diehl. He married Anna Norman on April 16, 1949 at Paris, AR. He was retired from the U. S. Army having served during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was also retired from Deltic Farm and Timber and was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by one son, Mike Diehl.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Diehl of Ola, AR; one son, Buddy L. Diehl of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Brenda Mullen and Becky Diehl both of Ola, AR. and Darlene Ellis of Dover, AR; one brother, Donald Diehl of Lawton, OK; one sisters, Louise Williams of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren, Michael Perkins, Amy Mullen, Brittany Ellis, Shealynn Diehl, Dylan Diehl and Kristie Perkins and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Brimm.

Funeral service was February 27, 1999 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Ricky White. Burial was in the Stoney Point Cemetery at Scranton, AR. Diehl, Rebecca Becky Lynn

Rebecca Becky Lynn Diehl, was born August 17, 1957 to George and Anna Norman Diehl in Lawton, OK and died May 21, 2009 in Ola, AR She was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Theodore and Alice Diehl and Clifford and Walsie Norman.

She is survived by a daughter, Shealynn Damon; a son, Dylan Diehl and a granddaughter, Skylar Damon all from Ola, AR; one brother Buddy and Gina Diehl of Utah; two sisters Brenda Mullen of Centerville, AR and Darlene and Paul Ford of London, AR; several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and many friends.

A memorial service will be held May 29, 2009 at 6:30 p. m. at the Ola First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky White and Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Diekerson, Don

Don Diekerson, age 17, of Plainview passed away December 5th. He was a Missionary Baptist Church and was accidentally killed in Missouri. He was the son of Charles and Girtha Diekerson.

Dildy, Vida Cathey

Vida Cathey Dildy, age 89, of El Dorado, AR, died Monday, December 27, 1993 in El Dorado nursing home. She was born May 7, 1904 in Rover, AR the daughter of William Hamilton & Ellen Rabjohn Cathey; she had lived in El Dorado since 1923 and was a retired registered nurse for the El Dorado School System. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church of Nashville, Ar.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdene Dildy.

Survivors include two brothers, Owen Cathey of Van Buren, Ar and Bill Cathey of Oceanside, CA and one sister, Modean Barry of El Dorado, AR.

Services will be Wednesday, December 29 at 10:00 a. m. at Young's Chapel with Rev. Sam Shepperson officiating. Burial will be Ozan Cemetery near Nashville, AR at 3:00 p. m. Wednesday with Rev. Dillman, Edith Gertrude

Mrs. Edith Gertrude Dillman, 59 died at her home near Waveland, Wednesday, May 28, 1954. She had lived in the Waveland community about four years and was a member of the Baptist Church.

James Howard Dimitt, age 71, of Wichita, KS died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was born in Stafford, AR on December 2, 1932 son of the late Jesse Howard and Myrtle Mae Crownover Dimitt. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Dimitt; two daughters, Judy Darlene Dimitt and Joan Dimitt; four brothers, Raymond, Verl, Ray and Oval Dimitt; two sisters, Goldie Moudy and Edna Hovey; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nobel and Ida Poindexter and a son-in-law, Jim Powell.

James Michael "Mike" Dimitt, age 42, of Belleville, AR died Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born on December 28, 1957 in Wichita, KS. He was a 1975 graduate of Belleville High School and had been a jig builder for Beech Craft in Wichita, KS.

He was preceded by two infant sisters, Judy Darlene and Joan Dimitt and his grandparents, Nobel and Ida Poindexter and Jessie Howard and Myrtle May Dimitt.

Verl Leon Dimitt, age 62, of Belleville died Thursday, November 29, 1984 at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Yell County, the son of the late Jessie Howard and Myrtle May Crownover Dimitt. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of the Wayne Poultry plant.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Dimitt of Russellville and Robert Howard Dimitt of Sallisaw, Okla.; three daughters, Sandra Kremers of Scranton, Debbie Graves of Russellville and Sheila Dimitt of Sallisaw; a brother, James Dimitt of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Edna Hovey of Belleville, and four grandchildren.

Sarah Francis Dinnerville, age 82, of Ola died Sunday, November 15, 2015. She was born February 17, 1933, at Centerville to the late Edgar and Sallie Daniels Benefield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ola First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al Dinnerville; one sister, Virginia Parker; four brothers, Charlie, Jim, Lamar and Loyd Benefield.

William E. (Al) Dinnerville, age 75, of Ola, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born December 27, 1927 at Chicago, IL to the late James Alexander and Pearl Caroline Styx Dinnerville. He was a retired route man for Coleman Dairy and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Earl Dinnerville and a niece, Beth Dinnerville.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Sara Benefield Dinnerville; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Shannon Dinnerville of Carthage, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Scott Adams of Ola, AR; one brother, Jim Dinnerville of Henderson, AR; 5 grandchildren, Derek, Alex, Niki, and Brooke Adams of Ola and Natalee Dinnerville of Carthage, TX; several nephews, nieces and friends.

Dishongh, Pauline Sullivan Young

Pauline Sullivan Young Dishongh, age 93 of Danville, died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at City Hospital in Fayetteville. She was born June 2, 1913 in Briggsville to John Wesley and Ida Lee Jewel Montgomery Sullivan. She was a retired teacher and member of the United Methodist Church. Her life was one of service to her God, family and friends, the love of roses and the art of cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, siblings and a son, Monty Dishongh.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyne Young and Dr. Ted Ashcraft of Fayetteville; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Geneva Dishongh of Plainview, Bill Dishongh of Florida, Kay Dishongh Duggan of Gillham; brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Roxey Sullivan of Briggsville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Jeanie Dison, age 59, a resident of Hector, AR died Saturday, June 5, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville, AR. She was born March 20, 1940 at West Ridge, AR to Ed and Myrtle Sapp Dison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jerusalem Church of Christ.

Dixon, Boyd A.

Boyd A. Dixon, age 78, of Beggs, died Monday, October 15, 2007 at his home in Beggs. He was born June 10, 1929 in Havana, Arkansas, the son of Daniel Tolbert Dixon and Elna DeRossette Dixon. - He retired from Rockwell International after 25 years of employment. Boyd married Oma Smith in Sand Springs on April 17, 1948. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a self-taught musician and could play just about any musical instrument, including guitar, drums, harmonica and fiddle. Boyd is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Oma Dixon; one son, LaWayne Dixon and wife Peggy Jo of Beggs; two daughters, Sue Phipps and husband Tommy Lee of Sand Springs, and Amy Storm and husband Dennis, also of Sand Springs; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Raymond Dixon of Stigler, OK and one sister, Selma Comer of Alexandria, VA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Alvis Dixon; and two sisters, Grace Wilcox and Mable Roseborough.

Dixon, Daniel Tolbert

Daniel Tolbert Dixon, aged 81, one of Yell County's early settlers, died in a Tulsa hospital on January 8. Born in 1880 near Atkins, he came to Yell County as a boy in 1888 and attended the Old Buckingham School, near the present site of Havana. He worked as a blacksmith and a farmer at Ola, Atkins and Russellville while a young man, and returned to Yell County in 1917 with his wife, the former Edna DeRossit of Lamar, and raised his family here. They moved to Tulsa in 1947.

Surviving are the widow, Edna, of Tulsa home; four sons, James, of Sand Springs, Okla., Raymond, of Coweta, Okla., Alvis, of Westminster, Calif; and Boyd of Clinton, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Wilcox and Mrs. Mabel Roseborough, both of Tulsa, Mrs. Selma Comer of Alexandria, Va.; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one nephew, J.W. Dixon, David H.

David H. Dixon, age 70, of Russellville, AR died Saturday, November 4, 2000 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of the late Bufford Dixon, he was born October 24, 1930, at Russellville. He was a former truck driver, and attended the Ola Assembly of God Church. In addition to his father, a son, Freddy Joe Dixon, preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his wife, Bonnie Dixon; three sons and daughter-in-law, David L. and Joann Dixon of Russellville, AR, Rickey D. Dixon of Dardanelle, AR and Danny H. Dixon of Laredo, TX; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy A. Dacus and Sheila B. and Andy Thompson II all of Russellville and Karen S. and Lonnie Haney of Ola, AR; his mother, Othel Ingram of Russellville, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Mildred Dixon of Conway and Olan and Ann Bowden of Russellville; a sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Dolen Donahou of Russellville; a step-brother and step sister-in-law, Leon and Lesdene Ketcherside of Russellville, AR; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Donald P. Dixon, age 68, a resident of Ola, AR, died Thursday, August 12, 1999 at his home at Ola. He was born on June 11, 1931 at Ola, AR to Ernest and Marjory Pullen) Dixon. He was retired and the owner of Dixon Poultry Equipment Company and a farmer. He was an Air Force Veteran of Korean Conflict and a member of the Petit Jean Mason Lodge 298, the Yell County Cattlemen's Association and was a member and past president of the Ola School Board.

Henry Monroe Dixon, age 79, of Dardanelle died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born April 16, 1931 at Delaware to the late Pies and Clara Wurst Dixon Flurry. He was a member of the Delaware Assembly of God Church and a member of the Machinist Union.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Flurry; a sister, Katherine Cleaver.

Dixon, James H.

James H. Dixon, age 91, passed away October 15, 2006 in Tulsa, OK after suffering several heart attacks in recent years. He was born near Russellville, AR on July 24, 1915, and moved at an early age to Havana, AR with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tolbert Dixon. He was a veteran of WWII, and had lived in Sand Springs, OK since returning to the States after his services in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Aluis Dixon; two sisters, Grace Wilcox and Mabel Roseborough.

Survivors include his wife, Allene of Sand Springs; his stepson, Billy Ray and Loretta Wooten; step-grandson and great-grandsons, Billy R. and Candace, and their sons, Josh and Jared Wooten, all of near Tulsa; two brothers, Raymond Dixon of Stigler, OK and Boyd Dixon of Beggs, OK; one sister, Selma Comer of Alexandria, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Judy Kay Dixon age 48 of Dardanelle, formerly of Southern California, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at her home. She was born August 29, 1957 at Kansas City, MO to Rex Edwin and Verna May Jones Dixon. She attended the Church on the River in Dardanelle.

Survivors include her mother, Verna M. Dixon of Dardanelle; father, Rex E. Dixon of Dardanelle; two sisters, Betty Lamis of Billings, MO, Marsha Hart of Sedalia, MO; aunts, Norma Gardner of Delaware, Carolyn Clay of Taos, NM, Wanda Reynolds of Seattle, WA; uncles, Verlin Jones of Neosha, MO, Ronnie Jones of Warsaw, MO; niece Marcella Palmer of Sedalia, MO; nephew, Anthony Dixon of AZ; numerous other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, July 1, 2006 at noon at Shawnee Bend Cemetery in Warsaw, MO with Rev. Kenneth Clay, Eloise Jones, and Norma Gardner officiating. Nancy Carol (Bittle)Dixon, age 68, formerly of Ola, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Arkansas Nursing and Rehab in Texarkana, AR. She was born July 16, 1941 in Ola, AR to Zeron Vernon (Red) and Ora Lee (Byrum) Bittle. She was a 1959 graduate of Ola High School and attended business school in Little Rock. She worked as a bookkeeper before becoming a homemaker and loving mother, and was a member of the Ola United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Z. V (Red) and Ora Lee Bittle; a sister, Catherine Bittle; and grandparents, John and Martha Byrum and Jacob and Maudie Bittle.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stanton and Rina Dixon of Ashdown, AR; daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Ronald Whitley of Texarkana, AR and Stephanie and Brian Moshier of Azle, TX; and a sister and brother brother-in-law, Sandy and Rick Wood of Ola, AR.

She is survived five grandchildren Katie and Joshua Dixon of Ashdown, AR and Samantha and Megan Hamilton, and Jordan Moshier, all of Azle, TX.

Miss Pearl Dixon, age 76, of Havana, died March 8 in the Yell County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Atkins, but had spent most of her life in Yell County.

Dixon, Raymond Daniel

Raymond Daniel Dixon, age 56, died at his home in Morrisville, NC on July 8th, 2000. He was born March 13, 1944 in Marrakech, French Morocco, North Africa, to Raymond and Georgette Dixon. He came to Havana at age 2 and had lived also in Tulsa, in Saginaw, TX, Catoosa and Coweta in Oklahoma. He finished high school in Coweta, OK and was enlisted in the US Marines in October 1963. He served until November 1973, during that time he spent two tours with a helicopter crew in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by, one son, Bryan Dixon; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Harold Peck of Haskell, OK; two others sisters and a brother.

Barbara A. Dobbs, age 63, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eula J. Sidenstricker Downs and attended the Church of the Nazarene at Danville.

Dobbs, Delbert Winfield

Delbert Winfield Dobbs of Rodeo, CA, age 79, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002 in San Pablo, CA. Delbert was born June 28, 1923 in Bluffton, Arkansas to the late Theo (Fee) W. Dobbs and Dovie Christine (Garner) Dobbs. Delbert served in the United States Army's 460th Ordinance Evacuations Company from 1943 to 1945. Served in Normandy France, Rhineland Germany, Ardennes Belgium, Central Europe and England. Returning to the United States to marry his childhood sweetheart, Allene Faye Mabry of Chula, Arkansas. Moving from Arkansas to California in 1953. He worked for Atlas Powder Company of Richmond, CA until 1960. He worked for Standard Oil Refinery (Chevron) in Richmond, CA from 1960 to 1988 retiring for health reasons. He spent his retirement years enjoying hunting with his son, grandson and great grandson. Fishing and hunting with anyone who would go. He loved going to his Army reunions and telling his "war stories" to all. He is remembered by some as a teasing "pick on you" joke telling person.

He is survived by his wife, Allene to whom he was married just one month shy of 57 years, by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Leatha Dobbs of Rodeo, CA; his daughters Phillis Dobbs and her companion Vern of Minnesota and Lynn Dobbs of Rodeo, CA. He will also be remembered by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins and friends.

Dobson, Wanda Leigh Vaughn

Wanda Leigh Vaughn Dobson, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 4, 2007. She was born on November 7, 1920 in Dardanelle, the daughter of Dogan F. and Lola Harkey Vaughn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence W. Dobson; brother, Joe H. Vaughn; son, Harold L. Suggs.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Linda) Suggs of Little Rock; daughter, Vicki (David) Brantley of Alanson, MI. She had six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Wanda was a graduate of Garden Bottom High School. She was a former employee of Larry Robinson Photography Studios in Fort Smith for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and attended the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock.

Mr. James Franklin Dodd, age 82, of Dardanelle, AR, widow of Nina Dodd, died Sunday, January 18, 1998 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born, May 12, 1915 in Dardanelle, AR to the late William Dodd. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, retired from the International Shoe Factory and a WWII Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Zeffra VanGilder Dodd Cossey and Wayne Cossey.
