Bearden-Craig, Coleen Marie

Coleen Marie Bearden-Craig, age 46, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

Survivors include her husband, Dwayne Craig; daughter, Caitlyn; parents, Clif and Irma Bearden; sister, Melanie Bearden; and nephew, Branden.

A memorial service was conducted by Shinn Funeral Service Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Mr. Jim Hodges. Bearss, Mildred (Harkey)

Mildred Harkey Bearss, 77, executive secretary, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at North Austin Medical Center, Austin, Texas. She was born June 7, 1932, in San Saba, Texas, the daughter of R. T. Harkey and Goldia Cook Harkey.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Bearss of Austin; three sons, Bud Bearss and his wife Christy of Georgetown; Rick Bearss and Chris Bearss of Austin; a daughter, Terri Bearss of Austin; grandchildren, David Bearss and his wife Kelly; Melissa Fowler and her husband Justin; Phillip Bearss, Misty Shugart, Jennifer Shuggart, Joshua Bearss, and Joseph Bearss; great-grandchildren, Haylee Fowler, Scott Fowler, Omeira Shea Bearss, and Gage Bearss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Luther Harkey.

Services were held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the China Creek Cemetery, in San Saba County, Texas. Interment followed at China Creek Cemetery. Beasely, George William

George William Beasley, age 79, of Ola died Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was born August 2, 1937, at Bluffton, AR to the late Jess and Velma James Beasley. He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran, a member of the Cowboy Church in Centerville and was a member of the Cowboy Band.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bertha (Babe) Beasley; two brothers, Billy Beasley, Jessie Beasley Jr.; and one sister, Mary Beasley.

Survivors include one sister, Annie Vaughn of Belleville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery. Billy Robert Beasley, 67, of Blue Mountain, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Booneville, Arkansas. He was born May 11, 1944 in Dumas, Arkansas to Jess I. Daniel and Velma Loraine (James) Beasley. He was a member of the Blue Mountain Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one brother, George William Beasley of Ola, Arkansas and one sister, Annie Carolyn Vaughn of Belleville, Arkansas; best friend, Diane Phelps of Havana, Arkansas.

Gary Robert Beasley, age 70, of Booneville, Arkansas passed away November 11, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 6, 1939 in Mena, Arkansas to Jude and Nell (Cox) Beasley. Gary was a pharmacist at St. Edwards Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was formerly a Pharmacist at Booneville Human Development Center, Booneville Community Hospital and Crawford County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Arkansas Pharmacy Assoc. and the National Nursing Home Assoc.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother J. L. Beasley and one sister Katheline Beasley.

He is survived by his wife Kay of the home; two sons, Stephen Beasley of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Stewart Beasley of Danville, Arkansas; one grandson, Nick Beasley of Fayetteville, Arkansas and one granddaughter, Nikki Beasley of Plainview, Arkansas.

Mrs. Olive Beasley of Santa Maria, Calif. a former resident of Russellville, died Wednesday, February 25, 1987 at her home. She was the widow of James Beasley, and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Adam Parrish.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Richard Granville of Santa Maria; three sisters, Mrs. R. S. Velma Lorian Beasley, age 89, of Ola, AR died Friday, August 22, 2003 at her home in Ola. She was born May 3, 1914 in Bluffton, AR to the late William F. and Annie Crocket James. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ola.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Beasley, one son, Jessie Beasley, Jr. and a daughter, Mary Beasley.

Survivors are two sons, George Beasley and Billy Beasley both of Ola, AR; one daughter, Annie Vaughn of Belleville, AR; eleven grandchildren, Gregory and George W. Beasley, Jr. Billy Don Vaughn, Roger Vaughn, Teresa Bean, Tammy Staggs, Tim Vaughn, Laverta Cox, Lynn Beasley, Lisa Frog and Linda Beasley and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Services were August 25, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Ola with Rev. Jerry Schlinker and Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Interment was in Mt. Wendell Gene Beck, Sr., 74, of Magazine, AR, died January 25, 2011. He was born November 29, 1936 in Seminole, OK., the son of Wendell Elbert Beck and Mildred (Ellington) Beck Westmoreland. He served in the U.S. Air Force, he was a retiree of the Magazine Fire Dept., the Magazine School Board and a Rural Letter Carrier for thirty-seven years. He was a member of the Heritage Addition Church of Christ and a member of the Logan County Cattlemen's Assoc.

Beckett, James

Services for Pfc. James Beckett will be held at Moore's Chapel Sunday at 1:00 p. m. with Rev. Boyd Scott of Ola and Rev. L. L. Riley of Little Rock in charge. Pfc. Beckett s body was shipped from France and will arrive at Booneville Friday night. He was killed in action while serving with the30th Division in France on August 10, 1944, at the age of 20. He had attended the Havana High School.

Bedford, Don

Don Bedford, 83, of Muldrow, Ok and Alamo, TX passed away April 14, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born February 2, 1934, in Depew, OK. He was the epitome of a cowboy; hard working, brave, loved his family, honest with impeccable integrity, and a boundless faith in God. In his younger years he pursued rodeo in the calf roping event. In the 1960s he and his brothers, Dean and Cotton, formed Bedford Brothers Ranch Co. running cattle in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Later owning a feedlot and farm in Kress, Texas, ranch in Danville, Arkansas and a farm in Muldrow, Oklahoma. In later years he enjoyed being a winter Texan, playing golf and cards with his new friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Corbin Bedford of the home; three daughters, Donna & Eddie Green of Mountainburg, Carole Bedford-DeWitt of Danville, Dianne Shewmaker of Maumelle; two sons, Keith & Dayna Bedford of Muldrow, OK and Lee & Carol Bedford, of Muldrow, OK; one step-daughter, Debbie & Rollins Hoge of Fort Smith; one step-son, Johnny Corbin of Muldrow, OK; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Beehrle, Jill Ellen Perkhiser

Jill Ellen Perkhiser Beehrle, age 48 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born January 18, 1961 in Alton, Illinois. She was a CPA for Bobby Redfern and Company in Danville and a member of the National Association of CPA. She was in the army where she trained to become a Russian linguist for the Intelligence Department of the Army.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Perkhiser.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Rodney Beehrle; children, Maria Etheredge and Sara Hurst both of Russellville, Jackson Beehrle of Dardanelle; her mother, Lula Brown Perkhiser of Edwards, Missouri; three brothers, Bruce Perkhiser Wesley Perkhiser, Brent Perkhiser; four grandchildren, Makyna and Kaya Etheredge, Gage and Kiersten Hurst; and a host of family and friends.

Stanford J. T. Beene, age 73 of Dardanelle, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1936 at Enola to the late Bynum and Jewel Adia Roberts Beene.

Birtie Mae Carter Beggs, age 77, of Sims, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born September 24, 1924 in Cardwell, Missouri to the late Albert and Liza Jane Peppers Carter. She was united in marriage on October 14, 1939 in Cardwell, Missouri to the late Thomas Alexander Beggs. She attended the Evening Light Tabernacle and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judy Louise Harber; a brother and a sister.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Beggs of Chula, AR, Ogene Beggs of Dardanelle, AR, Harry and Nona Beggs of Sims, AR; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Delmer Taylor of Pine Ridge, AR, Debra Rodriguez of Sims, AR; a daughter-in-law, Harriett Beggs of Mount Ida, AR; a son-in-law, Dennis Harber of Pocola, OK; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Hattie Rose Schmechel Behncke, age 93, of Dardanelle, AR, formerly of Baudette, Minnesota died Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at her daughter's home in Dardanelle. She was born April 8, 1904 in Borup, MN to the late Reinhold and Helene Karoll Schmechel. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, tatting, painting, playing the fiddle and all types of craft works.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Behncke and their son, Leroy Behncke. Surviving five daughters, Ruby Sheely of Dardanelle, AR, Bernice Thomson of Wilburton, OK, Dorothy Kaufman of Tidewater, OR, Leona Rivard of Burkburnett, TX and Ardell Kvool of Rochelle, IL; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Behncke of Boise, ID; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Service was January 30 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrell Kobs. Interment was in Augsburg Lutheran Cemetery, London, AR by Cornell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Karl Behrend, age 75, a resident of Danville, AR died Wednesday, July 30, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville. He was born on July 16, 1922 at Magdeburg, Germany to Karl and Sophie Farber Behrend. He was a retired poultry farmer with Tyson.

Belcher, Mary Neil (Cowger)

Mary Neil Cowger Belcher, age 87, of Chickalan died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at River Valley Medical Center. She was born August 29, 1927, at Briggsville to the late Neil B. Cowger and Edna Heffington Cowger. She was a homemaker, attended the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, formerly a secretary in Civil Service at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas, Ft. Sam Houston and Lackland AFB in Texas. During WWII she worked at Cowden Mfg. Co. in Kansas City, MO., Pacific Bell Telephone Company in San Francisco, CA, Pratt Whitney in Kansas City, MO, was a Red Cross Volunteer for eight years, a member of the Dardanelle Garden Club since 1971, a past Director of the Northwest District of the Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs, a State Chairman several years, also a Life Member of the Federation, a member of Extension Homemakers since 1971, a past District Director of the Northwest District. She is a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Past Matron of Arkansas Valley Chapter #606 of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Paul "Dick" Belcher and one sister, Corinne Anderson.

Survivors include her children, Betty L. Kelley, Richard N. Belcher and wife O-Ja, Bruce A. Belcher and wife Deborah; sisters, Rebecca Kilgore of Ft. Smith, Betty Sue Young of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren, Ryan T. Holland, Lesley N. Jackson, Kimberlee N. Pepple, Nathan L. Belcher, Allison M. Belcher, Tracy L. Belcher; eight great grandchildren, Delanie Pinchbeck, Luke and Leah Bartlett, Parker Jackson, Taylor Holland, Leo People, Cora Pepple, Lilly Belcher; one great great granddaughter, Leona Pinchbeck.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Benny Harmon officiating. A private buriel was in Chickalah Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday, 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the chapel prior to the service. Pallbearers were Richard N. Belcher, Bruce A. Belcher, Ryan T. Holland, Nathan L. Belcher. Honorary Pallbearers were the Members of the #606 Order of Eastern Star. Belcher, Richard Paul "Dick"

Richard Paul "Dick" Belcher age 84 of Chickalah died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home. He was born July 7, 1930 in Langloth, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Mabel Brown Belcher. He was a Farmer and a United States Air force Veteran where he retired as Chief Master Sergeant from the USAF in January 1970 after serving 22 years in the Staff Judge Advocate Field, serving in Tacoma, WA.; Yuma, AZ.; Madrid, Spain; Vandenberg, AFB, CA.; Barksdale AFB, LA.; Kadena AFB, Okinawa; and Hickam AFB, Hawaii. He also retired from Dow Chemical in 1986. Richard was a 32nd Degree Mason, a lifetime member of Destiny Lodge-Fairview F&AM, Tacoma, WA. He was a lifetime member and Past Patron of Arkansas Valley Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #606, Russellville. He was also a member of VFW and The Retired Enlisted Association. Richard attended the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edgar Belcher.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Cowger Belcher of Chickalah; three children, Betty Kelley of Chickalah, Rick Belcher and wife O-Ja of Chicago, Bruce Belcher and wife Deborah of Chickalah; three sisters, Zelda Partridge and husband Billy of Glenwood, June Haley of Tennessee, Linda McKay of California; six grandchildren, Ryan Holland of Dardanelle, Lesley Jackson of Dardanelle, Kimberlee Pepple of Virginia, Nathan Belcher of Dardanelle, Allison Belcher of Little Rock, Tracy Belcher of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Pastor Jim Benfer officiating.
