Survivors include his parents, Lucio and Teresa Bravo; grandparents, Juventino and Maria Serrato of Danville, Rosenda Hernandez and Efren Bravo of Mexico; great-grandparents, Ernesto Perez and Esperanza Solorio of Mexico, Raquel Torrez of Mexico, and Esperanza Rojas of Mexico.

Melva Lee Brazier of Lemoore passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003 in a Hanford Convalescent Hospital at the age of 85 years. She was born in Danville, Arkansas and had lived in the Lemoore area for the past 42 years. She was retired grocery clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Brazier and 2 sons, Charles Brazier and Bob Brazier.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Joyce Marie Vanlandingham of Oxnard, Lois Jean Lee of Hanford and Wendy Horn of Lemoore; a sister, Novel Nichols of Danville, AR; 25 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Alyce Elizabeth Breashears, age 90, of Belleville, AR died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, AR. She was born August 14, 1914 in Wheeling, WV to the late Edmond and Mae Stephens Miller. She was a LPN, homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church and the Spring Creek EH Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Breashears and two sons, William Breashears and Doug Buckles.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Buckles of Belleville, AR and John Breashears of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Service was February 19, 2005 at the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Harelson officiating. Bill John Breashears, age 77 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1927 at Rover, AR to the late John S. and Ola Brown Breashears. He retired from Arkansas State Police as a Highway Patrolman after 26 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Sue Banks Breashears.
Survivors are four sons and daughters-in-law, John "Sonny" and Brenda Breashears of Dardanelle, Banks and Debbie Breashears of Lonoke, Bobby and Anita Breashears of Russellville, Billy Breashears of Long Beach, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Charles Ellis of Dardanelle; two brothers, Baxter Breashears of Russellville, Leroy Breashears of Russellville; two sisters, Mary Hunt of Bluffton, Jo Lofland of Little Rock.; nine grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle. Internment was at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. He was born on July 26, 1912 at Rover, AR. to John and Ola Brown Breashears. He was the owner of a farm equipment business and a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dardanelle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Pelt Breashears; three brothers, Ted, Bobby and Ned Breashears and one sister, Sue Cox.
He is survived by one daughter, Patsy Burris of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Robert Hays (Shannon) Burris of Little Rock, AR. He was a retired teacher, an Army and Air Force Veteran and a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.

Joe Kenneth Breashears, 72, of Searcy died Saturday June 30, 2007. He was born in Plainview, December 26, 1934, the son of Joseph and Buena Grissom Breashears. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Searcy, He had retired from banking in Pine Bluff, was an US Army veteran and a 32nd degree Mason.

John Smith Breashears was born October 19, 1884 at Plainview and died in a Little Rock hospital on April 10, 1948 at the age of 63 years.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ola Brown Breashears, six sons, Ned Breashears, Belleville, Ted of Upland, California, Euell of El Paso, Texas, Hays and Billie of Dardanelle and Le Roy of Russellville; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Lewis, Summer, Nebr., Mrs. Joe Hunt of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Homer Lee Lofland of Bluffton and seven grand children. He is also survived by his father, two brothers, six sisters and a host of friends.
He has been a consecrated Christian and member of the Rover Baptist Church for many years.

It is with profound regret we chronicle the death of Mr. John Smith Breashears, who passed away in a Little Rock hospital Saturday afternoon (4-14-48).
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. George Findley, of Havana, were held at Ola, Monday afternoon, burial being in the Rover Cemetery, near the former home of deceased. Pallbearers were Tom Pugh and Irby Sloan, of Rover; Earl Ladd and A. L. Walden, of Danville, and Mauhon Ramey and George Gleason, of Dardanelle.
John Smith Breashears was born near what is now the town of Plainview on October 19, 1884, being at the time of his death 63 years, five months and 22 days old. He had spent his entire life in Yell County, for many years being a prominent farmer and stock raiser at his farm near Rover in Fourche Valley. Three years ago he purchased and moved to a farm 4 1/2 miles south of Dardanelle on Highway 7, where he has since resided. For many years Mr. Breashears has been a member of the Rover Baptist Church. He was a true -Christian, a splendid citizen, a loyal and faithful friend, and Yell County has suffered a very real loss in his death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ola Brown Breashears; six sons, Ned, of Belleville, Ted, of Upland, Calif., Ewell, of El Paso, Tex., Hays and Billie, of Dardanelle; and Leroy, of Russellville; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Lewis, of Summer, Nebr.; Mrs. Joe Hunt, of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Homer Lee Lofland, of Bluffton; seven grandchildren, his aged father, two brothers and six sisters. Larry Willard Breashears, Sr. departed this life, February 23, 2002. He was born March 1, 1941 in Plainview, AR. He worked in the Little Rock Banking Community for thirty-five years, twenty-five years with Worthen Bank and Trust. He was currently employed with the State of Arkansas, Department of Finance and Administration.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Storment Breashears; son Larry Willard Breashears, Jr. and wife Carol of Atlanta, TX; daughter, Caroline Denise Breashears of Canton, NY; sister, Jo Ann Dunnam and husband, Ray of Plainview, TX; step-father, R. L. DeLoach of Birta, AR; two grandchildren, Chris and Matthew Breashears; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Mrs. Lola Cooper Breashears, age 77, of Dardanelle passed away August 12, 1988 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was a native of Dardanelle and a retired school teacher a past matron of Council Oaks 589 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Bertha A. Person.

Mr. Breashears was born December 14, 1908 in the Sun Light Bay Community, Yell County, AR to the late John and Ola Brown Breashears. Mr. Breashears was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. Mrs. Ola Brown Breashears, age 92, of Dardanelle died Thursday March 15, 1979 at Yell County Nursing Home at Ola. She was a native of Briggsville, widow of John S. Breashears, daughter of the late Monroe and Lizzie Waldon Brown, and was a member of the Rover Baptist Church.

Vera "Lorene" Breashears, age 80, of Upland, California, died February 15 at Montclair Manor, Montclair. She was born in Rover, Arkansas, and lived in Upland for 60 years. She was a volunteer at Old Timers Nutrition Center, Upland, for 15 years.
She is survived by three sisters, joy Nell Moss of Fairfield, CA; Mary Ellen Ray of Danville and Naomi Joyce Perry of Gassville. She is also survived by three brothers, Elmer B. Eden of Ola; Roy A. Eden of Plainview and S. R. Eden of Rover.

Faye Breshears, 77, of DeSoto, TX passed away April 1, 2000. She was born October 28, 1922 in Russellville, AR. She was a graduate of Belleville High School in Belleville, AR and was Valedictorian of her class. She was a member of First Baptist Oak Cliff and loved gospel music. She enjoyed meeting people and did a lot of work on genealogies.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Breshears; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Darwin Thomas of DeSoto, TX; a sister, Maxine Barrick of Phoenix; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Grace Elizabeth (Bland) Brewer, age 95, of Danville, AR, died Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was a native of Perry County and the daughter of the late Grant and Susan (Black Bland. At age 15 she moved with her family to Yell County living in Belleville and Havana until 1958 then they moved to Danville. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse's aide at Mitchell's Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Danville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Opal Brewer in December 1990 after nearly 55 years of marriage, her parents, three adult brothers, Loyd, Lewis and Leonard Bland; two infant brothers and a small sister.
Survivors include five nephews and seven nieces and many great-nephews, nieces and several cousins.
Service was October 9 at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Vosburg officiating. Burial was in Havana Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. James "Chicken" Brewer, of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born November 3, 1939 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He was a paving contractor, served in the Arkansas National Guard, and attended the Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Hazel Epperson; an infant daughter, Angela Lee Ann Brewer; a grandson, Seth Allen Brewer; and his birth mother, Ellie Rainwater Brewer.
Survivors include his son, Greg Brewer of Dardanelle; a brother, David Ray Brewer of Hensley, AR; a sister, Juanita Brewer Flurry of California; an aunt, Sue Love of Russellville; and his birth father, Roscoe Harold Brewer.
Graveside services were Friday, March 15 at 11:00 p. m. at Durvin Cemetery, Dardanelle with Brother John McCourt officiating. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Martin Edward Brewer, age 59, of Belleville died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Hot Springs National Park Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1944, in Rogers, Arkansas to the late Woodrow Cleburn and Dessie May Kinder Brewer. He worked for the Yell County Road Department for 25 years. He was a member of the Belleville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVern Wilson Brewer, and a brother, Quinton Daniel Brewer.
Survivors are his companion, Pat Knight of Belleville; children, Chuck Brewer and Misty Elders, of Rogers, Marlin and Marlene Brewer of Dardanelle; brothers, Lindon, James Carrol, Harold Cleburn, Donald Garl, Jackie Loyd, Michael Ray and Johnny Edwind Brewer, all of Rogers; sisters, Wanda Lou Richardson, Shirley Ann Jones and Linda Fay Weston, all of Rogers; 6 grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nephews and nieces.

Reita M. Brewer, age 93, of Danville, AR went to be with her God on September 17, 2007 in Little Rock, AR. She was born October 10, 1913 in Sheridan, AR. Her parents were George Franklin and Anna Rebecca Hood McCool of Prattsville, AR. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, TN for many years. She was also pianist at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs, AR for many before she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Morris Smith and Denton Brewer; a daughter Nedra (Brewer) Rose; two brothers W. Carl McCool and Bob McCool; two sisters Mildred Rayburn and Gladys Fish.
Survivors include two grandsons Mark and John Rose; a granddaughter Rebecca Bowdie; great grandsons Christopher, Joshua, and Kimmy Hanke; great granddaughters Lucia and Liliana Hanke, Amber and Alexis Rose; nephew Bobby B. McCool; niece Carol Ann Baker; special friend Clyde Apple, and numerous other family and friends.

Hays Bridges age 89, a resident of Plainview, AR died Thursday, June 15, 2000 at his home. He was born October 4, 1910 at Plainview, AR to Matthew and Eva (Stahl) Bridges. He married Imogene Leach on May 3, 1941 at Plainview, AR. He was a farmer, member of the First United Methodist Church of Plainview, was a 32nd degree Mason, a 35 year committeeman with the Farm Services Agency at Danville and a member of the Ola Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and two brothers.

William "Bill" Bridges, 54, of Fort Smith died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at a Fort Smith hospital. He retired from the Air Force as a technical sergeant serving with the 188th Fighter Wing. He was a graduate of Plainview-Rover High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He joined the Air Force and served as a communications technician in Japan during the Vietnam War, a recipient of the Mayor's Good Neighbor Award and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hayes Bridges.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Bridges; a son, Chris Bridges of Fort Smith; a daughter, Heather Bridges of Fort Smith; his mother, Imogene Bridges of Little Rock; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ann Bridges of Wayne, Pa.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Dale Zank of Marshall, Mo. and Judy and Charles Chastain of Little Rock; several nephews and nieces; and a great-niece.

J. B. Briggs Is Stricken With Polio - J. B. Briggs, Danville resident and former Yell County Circuit Clerk, was stricken with polio last week and is now a patient at St Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. Briggs was taken to the hospital in Little Rock last Wednesday paralyzed from the waist down. Doctors at first believed that a rupture disk was causing the paralysis, but Saturday when his breathing became difficult and his temperature continued to rise, it was definitely established as polio. Briggs passed the crisis early Sunday morning after he had temporarily been placed in an iron lung. His fever broke and breathing became easier after that time. The exact extent of the paralysis will not be known for several days, but he is not paralyzed above the waist. Briggs, who is now an employee of the Arkansas Power & Light Co. was Yell County Chairman of the March of Dimes drive for polio for three years.
