Bean, Ethel (Sims)

Ethel Bean, age 93, of Ola passed away with her family and friends by her side Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 15, 1919 in Ava, Arkansas to the late David Thorton and Ethel Hardbarger Sims. She was a homemaker a mother and friend to all and a member of the Ola First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Thomas Bean and a sister, Orrie Sims.

Survivors include her children, Walter C. Carter of Ola; Barbara and David Garrett of Rover; Shirley and Ollie Noles of Jessieville; Kay and Loyd Stanley of NLR; special family the Jr. Morrison's family of Rover and a host of family and friends.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Ola First Baptist Church with Brother Donald Walker officiating. Burial will be at Nooner Cemetery. Bean, George Kenneth

George Kenneth Bean, age 54, of Ola died Saturday, July 5, 1986 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a native of Waldron, son of the late George Robert and Eria Wagner Bean, and a member of the Ola Church of Christ. He was employed by the Ola Water and Sewer Department and had served as Ola city marshal for a year.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Bean; a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Dawanda Bean of Somerville, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Don Reynolds of Ola and Georgia and Terry Farmer of Omaha, Neb.; six sisters, Ellen Minnie and Betty Posey of Ola, Georgia Schee of Whelen Springs, Thelma Duncan of Gurdon, Pauline Gibson of Arkadelphia and Joyce Henson of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Christopher, Robin and Amanda Reynolds of Ola, and Crystal Bean of Somerville, Texas, and two cousins, Paul Wagner and Lucille Cooper of Belleville.

Bean, Judge Wiley W.

Funeral services for Circuit Judge Wiley W. Bean, who died at a Clarksville hospital Sunday, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. Bean, who had a history of heart trouble, died at age 73, less than seven months before he planned to retire from the bench. He was elected to the 5th Judicial Circuit post in 1962, serving Johnson, Pope, Yell, Faulkner and Conway counties. Bean announced several months ago that he would not seek reelection. Bean, born on a farm near Clarksville, began law practice as a claims attorney for the Mississippi Power & Light Company in 1930. He established a private practice at Clarksville and Little Rock in 1939. He served as attorney for the state Labor Department, appeals referee for the Employment Security Division and deputy clerk for the state Supreme Court during World War II. Bean was the deputy prosecuting attorney in the 5th Judicial District from 1948 to 1950. He then served three terms in the Arkansas Senate before returning to his law practice. The judge was appointed in 1961 to fill the unexpired term of the late George Patterson as chancellor in the 9th Judicial District before he was elected circuit judge in 1962. Bean, Karen Alana Newton

Karen Alana Newton Bean, age 49, of Ola, AR formerly of Clarksville, AR, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Ola. She was a reading recovery teacher at Ola Public School and daughter of the late Frank I. Newton.

She is survived by her husband, Don L. Bean; a son, Matthew Logan Pattermann of the home; a daughter, Alana Nicole Pattermann of the home; her mother, Mary Burch Newton of Hunt; a brother, Jon Newton of Clarksville; a sister, Metta Holman of Clarksville; a grandson, Rocky Gist, Jr. of Ola; an aunt, Ruby Wirth of Fulton, IL; a nephew, Shawn Newton of Clarksville; a niece Amber Holman of Clarksville.

Erwin Allen Bear, age 81 of Plainview, died Saturday, March 22, 2003. He was born March 6, 1922, in Midland, Arkansas to the late Erwin S. and Jossie Haley Hackett Bear. He was a retired sawmill worker and a member of the Plainview Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara B. Bear and a son, Irvin Bear.

Survivors include a son, Paul Bair of Plainview; a daughter, Marie Bloxham of Bryant, AR; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Bearss of Austin; three sons, Bud Bearss and his wife Christy of Georgetown; Rick Bearss and Chris Bearss of Austin; a daughter, Terri Bearss of Austin; grandchildren, David Bearss and his wife Kelly; Melissa Fowler and her husband Justin; Phillip Bearss, Misty Shugart, Jennifer Shuggart, Joshua Bearss, and Joseph Bearss; great-grandchildren, Haylee Fowler, Scott Fowler, Omeira Shea Bearss, and Gage Bearss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Luther Harkey.

She was born April 27, 1956 in Dermott, AR to her mother, Bernice Ingram and the late Ernie Ingram. She was a Deputy Treasurer in Yell County and a member of Chalybeate Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Beatty of Danville, AR; two sons, Justin and Preston Beatty both of Danville, AR; her mother, Bernice Ingram of Danville, AR; three brothers, Raymond Ingram of Mablevale, AR, Jack Ingram of Little Mountain, SC and Jack Ingram of Jacksonville, AR; one sister, Joyce Hood of Texarkana, TX.

Born on October 8, 1912 in Yell County, Ark. she was a daughter of the late Etta Windham Walker and George W. Walker. She had worked at China Grove Cotton Mill. Mrs. Beaver was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Beaver of China Grove; and four grandchildren.

Beavers, Nellie

Mrs. Nellie Beavers, age 94, of Russellville, AR died Monday, March 17 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville. She was born January 4, 1903 in Clarksville, AR to the late George and Minnie Titsworth Harris. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pottsville and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Beavers; a daughter, Betty Sue Beavers; two brothers, Andrew and Dave Harris and a sister, Ruby Russell.

Survivors include three sons, Earl and Roy Beavers both of Russellville and Lawrence Beavers of Dover; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Wendell Gene Beck, Sr., 74, of Magazine, AR, died January 25, 2011. He was born November 29, 1936 in Seminole, OK., the son of Wendell Elbert Beck and Mildred (Ellington) Beck Westmoreland. He served in the U.S. Air Force, he was a retiree of the Magazine Fire Dept., the Magazine School Board and a Rural Letter Carrier for thirty-seven years. Services for Pfc. James Beckett will be held at Moore's Chapel Sunday at 1:00 p. m. with Rev. Boyd Scott of Ola and Rev. L. L. Riley of Little Rock in charge. Pfc. Jill Ellen Perkhiser Beehrle, age 48 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born January 18, 1961 in Alton, Illinois. She was a CPA for Bobby Redfern and Company in Danville and a member of the National Association of CPA. She was in the army where she trained to become a Russian linguist for the Intelligence Department of the Army.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Perkhiser.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Rodney Beehrle; children, Maria Etheredge and Sara Hurst both of Russellville, Jackson Beehrle of Dardanelle; her mother, Lula Brown Perkhiser of Edwards, Missouri; three brothers, Bruce Perkhiser Wesley Perkhiser, Brent Perkhiser; four grandchildren, Makyna and Kaya Etheredge, Gage and Kiersten Hurst; and a host of family and friends.

Birtie Mae Carter Beggs, age 77, of Sims, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was united in marriage on October 14, 1939 in Cardwell, Missouri to the late Thomas Alexander Beggs. She attended the Evening Light Tabernacle and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judy Louise Harber; a brother and a sister.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Beggs of Chula, AR, Ogene Beggs of Dardanelle, AR, Harry and Nona Beggs of Sims, AR; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Delmer Taylor of Pine Ridge, AR, Debra Rodriguez of Sims, AR; a daughter-in-law, Harriett Beggs of Mount Ida, AR; a son-in-law, Dennis Harber of Pocola, OK; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, April 19, 2002 in the Evening Light Tabernacle with Bro. Doyle Whisenhunt officiating. Interment was in the Lone Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Thornton Funeral Home of Mt. Ida.
