Mrs. Hattie Rose Schmechel Behncke, age 93, of Dardanelle, AR, formerly of Baudette, Minnesota died Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at her daughter's home in Dardanelle. She was born April 8, 1904 in Borup, MN to the late Reinhold and Helene Karoll Schmechel. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, tatting, painting, playing the fiddle and all types of craft works.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Behncke and their son, Leroy Behncke. Surviving five daughters, Ruby Sheely of Dardanelle, AR, Bernice Thomson of Wilburton, OK, Dorothy Kaufman of Tidewater, OR, Leona Rivard of Burkburnett, TX and Ardell Kvool of Rochelle, IL; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Behncke of Boise, ID; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Service was January 30 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrell Kobs. Interment was in Augsburg Lutheran Cemetery, London, AR by Cornell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Karl Behrend, age 75, a resident of Danville, AR died Wednesday, July 30, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville. He was born on July 16, 1922 at Magdeburg, Germany to Karl and Sophie Farber Behrend. He was a retired poultry farmer with Tyson.
Survivors include two nieces, Rita Bulick of Whiting, NJ and Gertrude Peters of Oak Harbor, WA and various nieces and nephews in Germany.

Margaret Ann Ragsdale Belcher, age 78, of Dover died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Atkins Nursing Center. She was born January 5, 1929 at Beebe, AR to the late George Oliaf and Jenny Geneva Smith Payne. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Dover and worked at Mc B's Convenience Store and Pirates Cove Restaurant in Dover.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jackie Lee Payne.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Belcher of Dover; two step-sons and spouses, Dave and Cindy Belcher of Atkins, Sam and Val Belcher of Ohio; brothers, Glen Payne of Midwest City, OK, Sherman Payne of Dover, Chester Payne of Lieman, Germany; sisters, Dorothy Meeks of Sandersville, Georgia, Fay Hendrixson of Maryland Heights, MO, Pat Owen of Dardanelle, Connie Long of Dover, Sandy Koch of Hot Springs; four step grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Duil Bell, age 70 of Havana died Sunday, November 29, 1998 at his home in Havana. Mr. Bell was born September 27, 1928 in Havana, to the late Evin and Gertrude Hood Bell. He was a former and a member of the Ascension Life Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Bell.
Survivors are his wife, Verzene Catlett Bell, 2 sons and daughter in laws, Ronald and Betty Bell of Havana, Wayne and Connie Bell of Ozone; one brother Bobby Bell of Hot Springs; three sisters, Lucille Armstrong of Midwest City, OK, Bonnie Bryant of Havana, Gladys Newton of Oraville, CA; 3 grand children, 3 great grand children, several nieces and nephews.

She was a mother, homemaker and a member of the Springhill Baptist Church in Springhill, TN. She and her husband, Aubrey Bell were married January 27, 1928, they were married 70 years.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ulice and Hurbert Poteet.

Ocie Bell, age 97 of Danville, died Thursday, November 11, 2003 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 28, 1906 in Pea Ridge, Yell County, Arkansas to the late Edward Newton and Elizabeth Betty Hood Blaylock. She was a member of the first Baptist Church in Danville, former owner of Bell's Cafe in Danville, a homemaker and mother and a special baby sitter for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lesley Wilburn Bell and two great-grandsons and a special friend, Marie Wilkins.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, L. W. and Zelta Bell of Danville; a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Loyd Gilkey of Danville; four grandchildren. Jerry Gilkey of Ft. He was born December 6, 1917 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee and Rachel Bell (Spears) Bellar. He was a retired saw mill worker for Rennae Sims, A World War II Army Veteran and a member or Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 in Dardanelle. He attended the St. Augustines Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosita Anton Bellar; three brothers, Thomas Roy Bellar, Reese Dogan Bellar, and Burl Vinson Bellar.

Nooner Bellew, age 96, of Bluffton, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at the Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was a son of the late Joe and Minnie Woods Bellew, and was born at Bluffton. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 123, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bluffton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Jewell Lofland Bellew, Durah Lazenby Bellew and Viola Daniel Bellew, a brother, Jim Bellew, and a sister, Ada Coleman.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Benita M. Beman, age 85, a resident of Plainview, AR, formerly of Randalia, Iowa, died Saturday, October 26, 2002 at her home in Plainview. She was born on February 6, 1917 in Fayette County, Iowa, to the late Taylor and Carlotta Mae (Orr) Briggs. She married Loyal N. Beman in Randalia, Iowa on November 7, 1937. She was a cook with the public school system Iowa prior to retiring to Arkansas. She attended Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa majoring in Home Economics. She was a Methodist in faith; was a member of EH (Extension Homemakers) of Plainview serving as Inspirational Reader; active in the Senior Activity Center in Danville; a 4-H Leader in Fayette County, Iowa and well known for her bread baking. She also loved RV ing and had traveled to every state in the Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal N. Beman.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Whyla Beman of Amisseville, VA, Sherla & John Arp of Mount Pleasant, IA; one son, Terry and Pat Beman of Randalia, IA; 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and an aunt, Dorthea McLeese of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with Internment of the cremated remains to occur at Dunhams Grove Cemetery in Randalia, Iowa. Faliece Benefield, age 79, died Saturday, February 10, 1996 at the Morrilton Manor Nursing Home in Morrilton. She was a native of Bluffton, AR (Yell County), and was a daughter of the late Lemuel Hardy Benefield and the late Vernetta Melissa Nettie Stout Benefield. She was retired from Morton Frozen Foods (now Con-Agra) and attended the Four Squares Gospel Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Butler.

James Keyton "Jim" Benefield, age 78, of Plainview, AR died Monday, January 30, 2006 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville, AR. He was born December 15, 1927 in Centerville, AR to the late Edgar and Sally Daniel Benefield. He was a retired supervisor for Deltic Lumber.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Benefield.

Laura E. Benefield, age 69 of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at her home. She was born February 18, 1940 at Dardanelle to William H. and Voila Mae Williams Smith. She was a lifetime member of the Conway VFW Auxiliary #2259.
She is preceded in death by her parents; six sisters and three brothers.

Margaret Benefield, age 91, of Ola, AR died Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Tennie Howard Partin, she was born May 21, 1908 at Birta, AR. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ola. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Neal Benefield; two brothers, Elbert and Ernest Partin and a sister, Mae Rue Hudlow.

Marvin. C. Benefield, age 101, a resident of Ola, died September 27, 2007, at his home. He was born September 18, 1906, in Briggsville to James and Agusta Smith Benefield. M. C. was retired from Shipper s Ice and also had been a barber, truck driver, and mail man. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved gardening and telling friends and family stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Benefield; his son, Bob Benefield; and all of his brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Findley officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday. Another memorial service will be held February 9 at 6 p. m. at Hunts Chapel. Flowers can be delivered to Hunts Chapel at Rover all day on Friday.
