Atchison, Maude (Mrs.)

Mrs. Maude Atchison, age 94, of Dardanelle and the Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville died in the Yell County Hospital Saturday. She was born in Randolph, Tenn. and was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Tom Atchison and Grady Atchison, both of Dardanelle; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle Monday afternoon with Dr. Charles Casteel, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Venus Vodrazka Atchison, 58, of Dardanelle died Monday. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and a native of Dardanelle.

Michael Lawrence Atchley, age 48 of Centerville, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007. He was born September 17, 1958 at Roseville, CA to Robert Lawrence and Patricia Rose Atchley.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Rose Atchley.

Atchley, Thomisa Louise (Myers)

Thomisa Louise Atchley, age 51, of Russellville died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at her home. She was born February 2, 1962 in Bloomington, Indiana to John Myers and the late Susan Bloyd Myers. She attended Group Insperations in Dardanelle and loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Husband, Mike Atchley and one infant son Nicholas.

Survivors include her father, John Myers of Indiana; five children, Andrew Myers and wife Sheena of Ola, Robert McNeely of South Carolina, Michael Atchley, Jonnie Atchley both Russellville and Amy Atchley Theis of California; Two Brothers, Dave Myers of Indiana and Ricky Myers of California; one sister, Kim Pruitt of Indiana and six grandchildren.

Betty Redfield Atkinson, age 74, of Wilburton, OK died Wednesday at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, Ft. Smith. Born February 12, 1928 in East St. Louis, IL. she was the daughter of the late Norman Allen and Mary Ellen Koonce Redfield.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Bill Atkinson of Wilburton, OK; a son, Richard Allen Hobbs of Crete, IL; a daughter, Marilyn L. Allen of Lansing, IL; eight grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Atkinson, H. N. "Speedy"

H. N. "Speedy" Atkinson age 83 of Dardanelle died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at his home. He was born March 30, 1923 at Solgohacia to Duff H. and Mary Pearl Rammer Atkinson. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Maxine Wilson and Morene Pfeifer.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo Mack Atkinson of Dardanelle; a special family friend, Kathy Young of Dardanelle.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Dardanelle. Internment was in Brearley Cemetery with Rev. Milton Cowley officiating. Mary Jo Atkinson, age 84 of Dardanelle, died Saturday at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Born January 26, 1924, in Osceola, Arkansas, she was a supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone and a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H. N. "Speedy" Atkinson; her parents; and a brother, Roddy Mack.

Survivors include a special friend, Kathy Young of Dardanelle; caregivers, Wilma Case and Kim Bradley of New Blaine.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at the Dardanelle First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery. DARDANELLE - Mrs. Myrtle Juanita Atkinson, age 88, of Dardanelle died Sunday, December 14, 1986. She was a former resident of Newport.

Survivors include her husband, James Atkinson; a son, James Atkinson of Newport; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lock of Dardanelle and Mrs. Marie Soles of Rogers; a brother, W. A. Kunkin of Charleston; eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Atkison, Reba

Reba Atkison, age 70, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK on August 23, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Beulah Jackson Atkison of Blanchard, LA. She was the granddaughter of the late H. D. and Nannie Jackson of Waveland and Havana and had lived in Tulsa since the death of her parents. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Tulsa, OK.

Survivors include her brother, R. C. Atkison and nieces, Reva and Ruby Ann.

Atwood, Ruby L. George

Ruby L. George Atwood, age 85, of Modesto, CA died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at oak Valley Care Center, Oakdale, CA. She was a native of Dardanelle, AR and lived in Modesto 60 years. She was born in Arkansas on March 19, 1918 to the late Lilburn Green and Cora Ella George. She worked at Gene Thomas Trailer Sales for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Charlene Teeple and three brothers, Homer L., James L. and Herman J. George.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Atwood of Riverbank, CA, Lloyd Atwood of Banning, CA, Sandra Atwood of Modesto, CA and Shirley Cravey of Tucson, AZ; brothers, Lloyd George of Chinese Camp, CA and David George of Modesto, CA; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Audirsch, E. L. (Mike)

E. L. (Mike) Audirsch Jr., age 59, of Mariagpa, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday, December 25, 1996 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was the Agency Manager for Lee County Farm Bureau, having previously been the Agency Manager in Yell and Miller counties. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gideons International and National Life Underwriters Associations.

He is survived by his wife Pat Audirsch and his mother Mrs. Nellie Audirsch both of Marianna; one daughter Heather Audirsch Hay wood of Hot Springs; one son Dr. Lance Audirsch of Helena; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday, December 27 at the First Baptist Church in Marianna. Interment was in Marianna Memorial Park. Bobby Joe Austin (Corncob), age 71, of Story, AR, passed away April 4, 2017, at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, AR. He was born October 27, 1945, to Charles Henry Austin and Voyza Lee Smith in Danville, AR.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly Austin, son, Ervin Dwayne Austin, brother, Bill Tom Austin, and 2 infant brothers.

He is survived by his son, Donald Austin (Melissa), daughter Karen Morrison (Wendell), grandchildren, Jeremy Austin (Jessi), Elizabeth Austin, Samantha Smith (Roger), Mariah Morrison, Devan Austin, and Mikala Austin, great-grandchildren, Aspynn Austin, Laytyn Austin, Cayden Smith, Canyon Smith, Cailynn Smith and Cayce Smith, one sister, Maxine Standerfer and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing his lawn even when there wasn't anything but dirt to mow, driving the roads of Story and gossiping at the Blue Bell. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 6, from 4-6 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Ida, AR. Austin, Gayle (Miss)

Miss Gayla Austin, 57, daughter of the late Arthur and Amanda Austin, former resident of Briggsville, died in Pasadena, Calif. On December 8, where she had lived for the past 20 years. After graduating from Ola High School in 1924, she attended Arkansas Tech, Arkansas State College, and East Central State Teacher's College at Ada, Okla. Before leaving Arkansas, she taught in a number of schools in Yell County. She was a Methodist.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Austin.

Mr. Frankie Lee Autry, age 50, of Stockton, CA died October 13, 2001 at his residence in Stockton. He was born December 12, 1950 in Modesto, CA and has lived in Stockton since 1971. He attended Stanislaus Union, Sylvan Union and Hart-Ransom Schools, all of Modesto, and Delta College in Stockton. He was disabled.

He is survived by his father, Oliver J. Autry of Modesto, CA; his mother and step father, Mary L. (McConnell) and James C. Bowden. Sr. of Modesto, CA; two brothers, Sammy Gene Autry and James C. Bowden, Jr. both of Modesto and two sisters, Betty Lou Cordero of Modesto, CA and Susan Ann LeBlanc of Chandler, AZ.

Autry, Syble Maybell Rainey (Standridge)

Syble Maybell Rainey (Standridge) Autry, age 85 of Hudson, FL, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Windsor Woods Nursing Home. She was born February 20, 1919 at Rose Creek, Casa, to the late Carol and Lillian Archer Rainey. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd Standridge; second husband, William O. Autry; sons, Larry Standridge, Leon Standridge; brothers, Jessie Rainey, Theo Rainey; sisters, Mamie Clark, Reba Heim, Ruby Eubanks, Girtha Barnett, Clara Barnett.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Peter Watt of Hudson, FL; daughter-in-law, Patsy Standridge of Delaware; sister, Leatress Standridge of Dardanelle; five grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bobby Lee Avery, age 80, of Dardanelle died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Legacy Lodge Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born September 20, 1933 at Orlando, MS to the late Rev. Ernest B. and Arcena Young Avery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randall Avery.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Avery of Dardanelle; two daughters, Patricia Avery of Dardanelle, Betty Anne Ford and husband Mitchell of Jacksonville. Two sons, Jerry Avery of Dardanelle, William Avery of Wilson; one brother Mike Avery of Florida; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Rev. Kerney Price officiating. Dessie Mae Avery, age 80 of Belleville, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born December 18, 1927 in Little Texas, Arkansas to the late Roma and Agnes Beasley Humphreys. She was a line worker for Wayne Farms and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Avery; brothers, Robert, James, George, and Owen Humphreys; sisters, Susie Harvey, Lucy and Onia Humphreys.

Survivors include sister Margaret Trent of Waldron; caregivers, a niece and nephew, Danielle and Robert Earls of Belleville; several other nieces and nephews.

Edward Veo Avery, age 68, of Sallisaw, OK died Friday, January 15, 1999 at his home. He was born May 8, 1930 at Macedonia, AR. (near Danville) the son of Herbert and Agnes Wilson Avery, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Vernon and Alfred and one sister, Daisy.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Vester and Dorothy Avery of Oklahoma City, OK; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Delanie Humphreys of Sallisaw, OK, Delpha Owens of Danville, AR. Dollie Ramey of Belleville, AR. and Donnie and David Smith of Pagosa Springs, CO; three sisters-in-law, Margie Avery of Danville, Dessie Avery of Belleville and Shirley Avery of Westcliff, CO, also included are a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
