Bennett, Charles W., Dr.

Dentist From Fort Smith Drowns As Boat Capsizes At Nimrod - Dr. Charles W. Bennett, age 40, Fort Smith dentist drowned about 3 a.m. Tuesday when the boat in which he was fishing capsized on Lake Nimrod, near the Joe Bartlett landing. His body was discovered about 125 feet off shore in deep water at 11:30 a.m. A group of 40 men in approximately 15 boats tied together dragged the area where the tragedy occurred with grappling hooks until finding the body. Bennett, Clifford "Bill"

Clifford "Bill" Bennett, age 77 of Havana, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born November 14, 1933 in Formosa, KS to the late Clifford H. and Leona Mae Phillips Bennett. He was a Navy Korean War Veteran, a retired iron worker, a member of the Havana Presbyterian Church, member of the California Iron Workers Local Union 433 and Dodge Brothers Antique Automobile Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James R. Bennett.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Anna Bennett; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Yvonne Bennett of Havana; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steve Kimble of Norwalk, CA; grandchildren and spouses, Elisabeth and Justin Lingle, Shauna and Rudy Martinez, John Kimble, Amanda Kimble, Jason and Loretta Wallace, Josh Wallace; great-grandchildren Madeline, Emma, Olivia and Nathan Lingle, Dylan and Isabella Martinez, Eric and Ava Wilson; sister, Reata Chance of Torrance, CA.

Pallbearers were Charles Bennett, John and Steve Kimble, Justin Lingle, Jason and Josh Wallace. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Combs, Robert Dixon. Bennett, William O.

Services for William O. Bennett, age 76, of Fresno was Thursday at Northgate Assembly of God. Burial will be in Fresno Memorial Gardens. He was formerly of Ranger. He was born in Arkansas and had lived in Fresno for 38 years. He was a truck driver for Hans Sumpf Co. He was a World War II Veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Genell; four sons, Joe, William and Kermet all of Fresno, and Russell of Clovis; one daughter, Margaret Chapa of Fresno; one brother, Sonny of Colorado; three sisters, Ulene Bowman of Arkansas, Ruby Thompson of Arkansas and Gladys Rodgers of Fresno; and nine grandchildren. Bentley, Sibble May

Sibble May Bentley age 77 of Bentley, AR died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Dardanelle hospital. She was born January 7, 1933 at Birta to the late John Irvin and Dollie May Dunn. She was a member of the South New Hope Assembly of God Church and a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Linda Carol Patterson and one brother Joe Dunn.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Donald E. Bentley of Dardanelle, one son Lee Bentley and wife Tricia of Dardanelle, one daughter Lea Ann Hicks and husband Johnny Paul of Centerville, one sister Pauline Mills of Dardanelle, two brothers James Dunn of Paris and Lawrence Dunn of Sacramento, California and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were June 12, 2010, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with John David Keeling, Rev. Norman Chenowith and Rev. C. R. Young officiating. Burial was in Needmore Cemetery in Casa. Bergman, Louis E.

Louis E. Bergman, age 75, well known retired farmer of Plainview, died in his home Saturday night. A native of Illinois, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Surviving relatives include a brother, William Bergman, living in Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

Bernard, Nell Roulston

Nell Roulston Bernard, 80, of Delaware, Arkansas died Sunday, June 8,1997, in the Dardanelle Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Roulston and Hannah Wurst. Born Feb. 7, 1917 in Logan County.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Pockrus of Delaware; one son Billy Ken Barnard of Gary, Indiana.

Services will be on Thursday, June 12 at the First Baptist Church in Delaware with internment at Graves Cemetery by Rev. Mark Lashley. Betty Deaton Berry, age 65 of Casa, AR died Friday, December 1, 2000 at her home. She was a daughter of the late William Franklin and Lena Mae Clark Deaton, born May 19, 1935 at Clarendon. She was retired from the University of Memphis and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casa.

Survivors include her husband Frank Berry; a son, Michael Gordon Berry of Collierville, TN; a daughter, Sharon Berry Shelton of Bartlett, TN; three brothers, W. F. Deaton of Swansboro, NM, Eugene Laxson of Rogers and Billy Jo Samuel of Pea Ridge; and three grandchildren.

Berry, David

An Ola man, David Berry, 26, was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 10 between Danville and Ola as the driver was apparently returning home from working at a poultry plant in Danville. A passerby saw a reflection as they were driving by the scene about 1:15 p. m. on Tuesday and found the vehicle which was a considerable distance on the north side of the highway near the railroad tracks.

Apparently Berry lost control of his vehicle sometime during Monday night when the accident occurred. Deputy Coroner Tisha Radcliff pronounced Berry dead at the scene. The vehicle struck between two trees near the Rocking Chair Ranch west of Ola. State Trooper Brenda Gibbons investigated the accident. Yell County Sheriff Detective Mickey Barefield and Deputy Sheriff Dolan Sharp assisted at the scene. Doyle Franklin Berry, 81, of Irving, TX, died Saturday, August 25, 2007. He was born February 18, 1926, in Winsboro, TX, to Frank and Fletie Berry. He was a World War II Marine.

Cleetis F. Bewley, age 75, of Russellville, AR died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. The son of Lonnie and Vonnie Whorton Bewley, he was born September 15, 1932 in London, AR. He was a United States Army Veteran. He attended the Centerville Assembly of God Church where he played his guitar and sang every Sunday.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.

Lahoma Bewley, age "78, of Danville, AR died Monday, February 13, 2006 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in London, AR on August 14, 1927 to Thomas J, and Mary H. Raines Malone. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. A member of the Danville First Baptist Church where she had taught the preschool Sunday School class for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Steve C. Bewley and a sister, Patsy J. Williams.

Bewley, Steve Copeland

Steve Copeland Bewley, age 74, of Danville, AR died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born September 12, 1925 in London, Pope County, AR to the late Willie E. and Jane I. Vinson Bewley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, a 32nd Degree Mason, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Yell County Rodeo & Riding Club and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a long time businessman in both Yell and Pope Counties starting in the food business as a butcher after his service in WWII in California. He moved to Arkansas in 1959, and introduced self-service meat packaging to the River Valley working with Millsap's Foodliner, and A-One Super Markets in Russellville, in 1960 he opened Sav-A-Sum Market in Dardanelle and Sav-A-Sum Market in Atkins, then merging with Valley Food Markets, Valley Tractor and Implement Company in Russellville, and in 1965 moved to Danville and re-opened the Sav-A-Sum Market in Danville and in 1977 he also started Steve's Western Wear in Danville and then moved his Western Store to Russellville and in 1979 he purchased the Otasco Store in Danville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Zawislak.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lahoma Malone Bewley; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Phyllis Bewley of Danville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ronnie Spears of Danville and Kay and Gary Beasley of Booneville, AR; one sister, Florene McClarren of Clovis, NM; six grandchildren Shane Bewley of Russellville, AR, Terry Wayne Bewley of Hot Springs, AR; Christie Spears Davis, Scott Spears, Nichole Bewley Rivers and Misty Bewley all of Danville, AR; six great-grandchildren, Haley Bewley of Havana, AR, Colt and Kailey Davis and Raychel Spears all of Danville, AR, Josh Copeland and Tyler Bewley both of Hot Springs, AR and Luke Bewley of Russellville, AR.

Services were Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Terry Wayne Bewley and Rev. E. O. Tackett officiating. A eulogy was given by Butch Watts. Irene Bibler, 90, a resident of Russellville passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1915, at Scottsville to James Madison and Eula Belle Hale Danley. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ewing Bibler; four brothers, Cletus, Kirby, Hale, and Shannon Danley.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Hawkins of Russellville; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, John Ben and Dee Hawkins of Russellville; two great grandchildren, Anna Marissa and Matthew Hawkins; a step-great granddaughter, Lindsey Cantwell; and two step-great-great grandchildren, Sam and Hannah Lackey.

Funeral service was June 13, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Cheatham and the Rev. David Bond officiating. Burial was in the Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Bice, Noma

Noma Bice, died November 22, 1999 in the home of her daughter, Linda and her husband, Jack Newberry in Ballwin, MO. She was born June 2, 1923 in Danville, AR to Barney and Virginia Pence Bice. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Camden, AR. She loved her family, her church and her many friends. She was a graduate of Danville High School, owned and operated her own business for 25 years. She was what was called a free spirit. She enjoyed life; one of her last wishes was to fly over St. Louis in a small plane. A friend of hers owned a plane, was a pilot. He flew her over the city or St. Louis she had a great time. She loved time spent with her two brothers, Ralph and Bill Bice fishing on the beautiful Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. They talked about their life growing up together and fought over who caught the biggest fish. They had a great time just being together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two brothers, Rev. Jesse Bice of Danville, AR and Eddie Bice of Carbondale, IL; two sisters, Pearl Gregory of Tracy, Ca and Ruby Pate of Belleville, IL.

She is survived by, three daughters, Norma Sue Bischel of CA, Linda and husband Jack Newbury of Ballwin, MO, Judy and husband, Rev. Tommy Thompson of Mena, AR; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Bice, Warson Woods, MO, Bill and Velma Bice of St. Charles, MO and Bob and Maxine Bice of Cedar Hills, MO; one sister, Wilma Thacker of Maplewood, MO and nephews, nieces and many friends.

Ona Faye Massey Bice, age 78 passed away June 7, 1999. She was born in Danville, AR, December 20, 1920, daughter of Claude and Carrie Massey. For several years Faye owned and operated a beauty salon in Rock Hill, MO but most of all she was a mother and a homemaker. Her door was always open to family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ernest Massey and his wife Reetha, her twin, Opal Ray Massey and Boyd Massey; one nephew, Danny Massey; one sister, Virginia Whitecotton and husband, Grady.

She was the loving wife of Ralph W. Bice for sixty-two years and dear mother to, Harold R. Bice and Sandra Faye Bice; grandmother of Scott Bice, Mark Stampehl, Steven Stampehl, Cindy Bice and Tracy Bice; great-grandmother to Christina, Crystal and Jesse; one sister, Doris Koury of Ballwin, MO; sisters-in-law, Hazel Massey, Brentwood, MO, Ruby Floyd of Ola, AR, Noma Bice, Wilma Bice Thacker, Bill and Velma Bice, Bob and Maxine Bice all of Missouri.

Bice, Ralph W.

Ralph W. Bice passed away, December 14, 1999 in his home in Warson Woods, MO. He was born October 31st, 1916 in a small community called Stafford, AR (now Spring Lake) to Barney and Virginia Pence Bice. He was married to Faye Massey in March 1937 who preceded him in death June 1999. He served in World War II in France and Germany, was a police officer in Rock Hill, MO for 23 years, member of the Lions Club in Rock Hill and a Mason. He and his family founded CDA (Central District Alarms Company). The company provided service to residents and commercial properties in several states. He retired in the mid-90 s as president of the company but continued as chairman of the board until his death. He loved hunting and fishing with his brother, Bill and his sister, Noma, probably having fished every lake in the beautiful state of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, Rev. Jesse Bice of Danville, AR and Eddie Bice of Illinois; three sisters, Pearl Gregory of California, Ruby Pate of Illinois and Noma Bice of Ballwin, MO.

He is survived by, one son, Harold W. Bice; one daughter, Sandra Bice; three grandsons, Scott Bice and Mark and Steven Stampehl; one great grandson, Jessie Bice; two granddaughters, Cendy and Tracy; two great granddaughters, Christena and Crystal; one sister, Wilma Thacker; two brothers, Bill and Velma of St. Charles, MO and Bob and Maxine of Cedar Hill, MO.

Bice, William M.

William M. Bice passed away, January 12, 2001 in St. Joseph Hospital at St. Charles, MO. He was born November 19, 1918 in a small community called Stafford, AR (now Spring Lake) a son of Barney and Virginia (Pence) Bice. He was a veteran of WWII, enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1942, trained at Great Lakes, IL and was home December 1945 - war ended. He retired after many years as Supervisor of St. Louis City Water Department. After retiring Bill and his wife traveled the United States. He loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harvester, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brother, Rev. Jesse Bice, Ralph Bice and Eddie Bice Jr.; three sisters, Pearl Gregory, Ruby Pate and Noma Bice.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Velma (McLaughlin) Bice; a son, Dennis and Joann Bice of Fenton, MO; two daughters, Judy and Burns Winters, St. Peters, MO and Kathy and Chris Venverlough of Oakville, MO; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Bob and Maxine Bice; one sister Wilma Thacker; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bieber, John David

John David Bieber, age 77, of Dardanelle died February 25, 2010 in a Hot Springs hospital. He was born December 16, 1932 in Hawthorne, NJ to John W. Bieber and Margaret Knoener Bieber. Mr. Bieber retired from the U. S. Army and then worked as an ROTC instructor for Dardanelle Public Schools until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Mullen Bieber of Dardanelle; two sons, Michael Lee Bieber of North Little Rock and Duane Christopher Bieber and wife, Teresa, of Mustang, OK; two brothers, Kenneth and George Bieber both of NJ; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Jeremy, Corey and Casey.

Alva Nee Billingsley, age 83, of Bluffton died Tuesday. January 15. 2002 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Nola, AR on March 3, 1918. She is the daughter of the late James Jim T. and Lou Vadie Ennis Wagner. She was a mother and a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Wagner, Cap Wagner, Dick Wagner, and a granddaughter, Tina Janel Elmer.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Darrel Otto Billingsley; a daughter and son-in-law, Dara Beth and Tom Elmer of Kansas City, KA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Leon and Jennifer Billingsley of Overland Park, KA, Darrel Kent and Terri Billingsley of Shawnee, KA; a sister, Clarice Thompson of Kansas City, KA. 3 granddaughters, and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 17, 2002 at 2:00 p. m. at the Nola Church of Christ with Walter Golding officiating. Burial was in Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton. Billingsley, Darrel Otto

Darrel Otto Billingsley, age 87 of Bluffton, AR passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Shawnee, KS. He was born June 17, 1923 in Bluffton, AR to the late Bryan and Lou Alice Williams Billingsley. He married Alva Nee Wagner August 29, 1942. They moved to Kansas City, KS in 1943 where he worked at the North American Bomber plants during the war. Afterwards, he worked as a foreman in the formatting room at the Armour Meat Co., was owner-mechanic of a service station and retired as shift foreman at the Shawnee Mission School System in Shawnee Mission, KS in 1988. He moved back to Bluffton, AR in 1989. He was a member of Nola Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Alva Nee Billingsley; sister, Imojean Walters; brother, Nathaniel Billingsley; granddaughter, Tina Elmer; son-in-law, Tom Elmer.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Jennifer Billingsley, Darrel and Terry Billingsley all of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Dara Beth Elmer of Bonner Springs, KS; three granddaughters, one grandson, two great-grandsons; brother, Dexter Billingsley and wife, Helen of Bluffton; sisters, Evelyn Mitchell of Jessieville, Alice Dale Whala and husband, Lester of Bluffton, Gwen May of Eudora, KS, Lou Hance and husband, George of Ola.
