Norman, Home Lee

Home Lee Norman, age 80 of Flintstone, GA, passed away Tuesday May 24, 2005 in a local hospital He was a native of Plainview, AR, the son of Homer and Lucille Compton Norman, but had lived in Chattanooga for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Navy. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after many years of service. Upon retiring he worked for Kenco for five years.

He is survived by his wife, Marian L. Norman; sons and daughters-in-law, Geoff and Kelly Norman of Ringgold, GA; Paul and Jackie Watson of Rossville, GA, daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Norman of Winston Salem, NC; Jan and Steve White of Silver City, NM; five grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Willene and Ray Kidd of Denison, TX.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 27, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Burial followed at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with full military honors. Norman, J. Kin (Dr.)

Dr. J. Kin Norman, age 33, native of Yell County, died at his home in Fort Worth, Tex. Wednesday morning after an eight-month illness.

Norman, John A.

John A. Norman, aged 80, of Upland, Calif., died February 25 at an Ontario nursing home. He was a retired farmer and a native of Rover, having lived at Upland for two years. He was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Lodge at Danville.

Norman, Nannye Castleberry

Mrs. Nannye Castleberry Norman, age 88, of Plainview, AR, widow of William O. Norman died Thursday, April 1, 1993 at St. Edwards Hospital in Ft. Smith. She was a native of Briggsville, daughter of the late David and Martha Mathis Castleberry, a member of the Plain-view Methodist Church, a housewife and mother.

Survivors are two sons, Bill Norman of Greenwood, AR and Charles Norman of Plainview, AR; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Norman, William Henry, Sr.

William Henry Norman Sr. age 81, died at his home in Plainview Sunday afternoon, February 20, 1949 after a short illness. He was born and spent his entire life in the Plainview community. He was a retired merchant, farmer and cattle raiser.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Norman; one son, W. H. Norman Jr. Plainview; two brothers, J. A. Norman and K. A. D. Norrid, age 80, formerly of Plainview, died October 10, 1960 at Snyder, Texas. He was born at Mansfield and lived at Plainview from 1928 to 1935. He had made his home with his daughter at Snyder since 1945.

Norris, John Collin (Jr.)

John Collin Norris, Jr., age 71, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born July 24, 1934 in Fayetteville, AR, son of John C, Sr. and Mabel Morris Thomas Norris. He retired after 25 years as an inspector for Dow Chemical and was a member of the Delaware First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margie Norris a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin Gary and Joan Norris of Rogers, AR a sister, Mary Dillingham of Russellville, AR mother-in-law, Josephine England of Belleville, AR an uncle, Troy Thomas aunts, Zola Johnson and Ruth Hancock all of Fayetteville, AR children by heart, Sandy, Charlie, Sterling and Tony Reel and a host of nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Marie Ann Norris, age 64, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday. She was born November 14, 1934 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Lonnie and Edith Utley Adkison. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist church, retired nurses aid at the Dardanelle Nursing Center and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Everett Adkison and one sister, Margaret Holeman.

Survivors are her husband of 48 years, William Norris; two daughters, Linda Young of Dardanelle, AR and Virginia Byrum of Russellville, AR; two brothers, Loyd Adkison of Dardanelle and Bobby Adkison of Russellville, AR; one sister, Jewell Seagrave of Russellville; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and friends.

William Daniel Norris, age 85, of Dardanelle died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born April 12, 1930 in Plainview to the late William Levi Norris and Ora Flo Crites Norris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Ann Adkison Norris; a brother, Maxie Norris; a sister, Johnnie McElroy; a grandson, Rodney Byrum and a great grandson, Faytaun Wells.

William Levi Norris, age 81, of Dardanelle died today (Feb. 10, 1987) at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was a retired farmer, son of the fate Henry and Ludie Jones Norris, and a member of the Dardanelle Assembly of God Church.

Northup, Dorothy Sharlene (Ketchum)

Dorothy Sharlene Northup, age 74 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at home. She was born February 13, 1936 in Van Buren County, Iowa to the late Florence Ketchum Chaplin and Oscar Ketchum.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Northup, who was at her side at the time of death. Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several nephews and nieces and a special friend, Betty Johnson. Dorothy was a member of the Troy Methodist Church in Troy, Iowa; The Crystal Cathedral Eagles Club, The Town and Country Garden Club, The Takahik Hiking Club and the Dardanelle Senior Activity Center.

Norton, Lesley R.

Lesley R. Norton, age 31, of Route 1, Danville was killed about 10 p. m. Sunday when he was thrown from his pickup after apparently losing control of the vehicle. Norton was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on Highway 154 about one mile west of Centerville, according to the accident report by Arkansas State Police Cpl. Barry Spivey. Norton was headed west on the highway, apparently at a high rate of speed, when he drove onto a long, gravel left-hand curve. Norton's truck dropped off the right side of the roadway, crossed a ditch and traveled down a fence row 540 feet, the police report stated. The truck flipped, was airborne for about 55 feet and flipped again before coming to rest upright, the report stated. Norton's body was found lying face down about 30 feet from the truck.

A native of Lamesa, Texas, he was the son of Orville and Opal Welborn Norton of Route 1, Danville. He was employed by Homestead Tractor Co. at Russellville. Other survivors are his wife, Tonya of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons, Waylon and Kyle of Fort Worth; two brothers, Ted Jr. of Lovington, N. M. and James Lee of Lamesa, Texas; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Welborn of Lamesa.

Funeral will be 2 p. m. Wednesday at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle, with the Rev. Larry Pettus, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church at Dardanelle, officiating. FORT WORTH - Lorena McKenzie Norton, a retired registered nurse, died Saturday at a Fort Worth nursing home. She was 84.

Roy Lee Norwood, age 85 of Ola, died Sunday. He was born September 19, 1922 in Goree, Texas. He was the son of the late Elmer James and Celestie Jane Deathridge. He was a poultry farmer, a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Gladys Jones Novy, age 96, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1910 to the late Winford Casey and Maude Rushing Jones. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and she retired from Janet Davis Kitchens in Dardanelle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Van Novy; son-in-law, Bill Bittle.

Survivors include her daughter Ruth Ann Novy of Dardanelle.

Hilda F. Jerry Nuckolls, age 63, of Ola, AR died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born April 6, 1942 at Dardanelle, AR, son of Onvy "Shott" and Thelma Nesbitt Nuckolls. He owned and operated Nuckolls Trash Service.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and James Harold Nuckolls and a sister Hilda Nuckolls.

Mr. Norman Edward Nuckolls, age 58, of Russellville died Wednesday, November 24, 1993 at Dardanelle. He was a native of Dardanelle, son of the late Onvy Oliver Nuckolls. He was a member of the South New Hope Church of Christ, he served his country in the Air Force and the Navy and was employed by Ladish of Russellville.

Survivors include: wife, Betty May Nuckolls of Russellville, AR; two sons, Carl Webster of Russellville and Johnny Webster of Atkins; five daughters, Bonnie Jackson, Patricia Ragsdale and Norma Nuckolls all of Dardanelle, AR, Rita Willis of Briggsville, AR and Janet Hazel of Russellville, AR; mother, Thelma Nuckolls of Dardanelle, AR; two brothers, Jerry Nuckolls and J.B. Nuckolls both of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters, Wanda Walker of Ola, AR and Hilda Fay Nuckolls of Dardanelle, AR; 14 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were November 27th at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel by Kenneth Millard. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery. Active ballbearers were: J.C. Nuckolls, Onvy Oliver

Onvy Oliver Nuckolls, age 56, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, January 21 at a Dardanelle hospital. He operated a farm and chicken ranch, he was a native of Johnson County and the son of the late John and Janie Howen Nuckolls.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Nesbitt Nuckolls; four sons, Norman, with the Air Force in Colorado, Jerry of Plainview, J. B. and James of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Walker of Centerville and Miss Hilda Nuckolls of the home; one brother, Fredrick Nuckolls of California; four sisters, Mrs. Ortha Crowe of Dardanelle, Mrs. Othel Smith of Clarksville, Mrs. Zella Hubbard and Mrs. Ethel Robinson, both of Bytheville; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a number of nephews and neices.

Nuckolls, Rose Marie

Rose Marie Nuckolls, age 53 of Ola died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Yell County Nursing Home. She was born December 18, 1954 at Leavenworth, KS to the late John Paul and Helen Agnes Borowski Jakuhovich.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Nuckolls.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristie Richards of Whiteman AFB, MO; sons, Shane Dixon of Fresno, CA, Fabian Dixon of Lebanon, MO, Emmett Dixon of Marion, AR and eight grandchildren.

Mis. Thelma L. Nuckolls, age 80, of Ola, AR died Thursday at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born December 29, 1915 in Charleston, AR to the late Joseph and Marcella McConskey Nesbitt. She was a member of the Oakland Heights Assembly of God Church in Russellville, a retired employee of Tyson Foods, a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Onvy O. Nuckolls and two sons, Norman and James Nuckolls. Survivors: two sons, J.B. Nuckolls of Atkins and Jerry Nuckolls of Ola; two daughters, Wanda Walker of Ola and Hilda Fay Nuckolls of Dardanelle; a sister, Rosa Lee McClure of Alemeda, CA; eight grandchildren, eight step- grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Nuckols, Harlon Edward

Harlon Edward Nuckols, age 87, of Centerville for more than 57 years, went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Mary Lou Reece Nuckols. He was surrounded by family as he took his last breath on earth and his first breath in Heaven on June 24, 2017, at his home. He was born March 9, 1930, to the late Chesley and Katie Watts Nuckols in Dardanelle, Arkansas.

He was a member of the Centerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou Nuckols; two sisters, Chris Davenport and Dorothy Nuckols. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country from 1952-1954 and served in the National Guard. Harlon was a Christian baptized into Centerville First Baptist at the age of 80. He was a loving husband to Mary Lou, a Daddy to four daughters and more than a father-in-law to three sons, a brother and an uncle, a PaPa to his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and to countless others. He was hard working and loved by many friends, neighbors and extended family. You could always find him working in the yard or his garden or on the front porch with his family.

He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Pam and Jerry Reynolds, Debbie and Paul McKinney, Barbara and Don Schutt, Melissa George; two brothers, J.C. Nuckols, Marshall Nuckols; one sister, Nina Cain; eight grandchildren, Kym and Devin Brignoni, Junior and Tiffany Reynolds, Courtney and Phillip Willis, Ed and Nicole Reynolds, Kayla McKinney, Katy Schutt, Cheristy Backer, Randi Schutt, Hannah George, Reece George; fifteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Centerville First Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Whitlock and Bro. Donald Walker officiating. Burial will be in Dacus Cemetery. Nuckols, Stevie Dale

Stevie Dale Nuckols, age 51, of Dardanelle, AR died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born December 5, 1955, at Kansas City, Missouri to Marshall Lee and Ludie Weoma Davis Nuckols. He was a former electrician at Arkansas Nuclear One and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Russellville Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his first wife, Tina Shelton Nuckols; and an uncle, Dean Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Velta Inez Nuckols of Dardanelle; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael, and Amber Nuckols of Dardanelle, Mitchell Nuckols of Fayetteville, and Matthew Nuckols of Dardanelle; two step-sons and a step-daughter-in-law, Michael and Laquita Newport of Dardanelle and Chad Newport of Hector; his father, Marshall Nuckols of Dardanelle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Helen Nuckols and Russell and Shannon Nuckols all of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Ethan Paul Nuckols, Lane Michael Newport, and Brookelynn Grace Nuckols all of Dardanelle; and numerous nephews and nieces.

The funeral was held Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Shinn Chapel with Pastor Tom McElmurry officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Freda Cossey of Dardanelle, Lonnie and Barbara Kendrick of Knoxville two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Talley, and Joyce and Geroy Martin all of Dardanelle three brothers, Jack Kendrick of Dardanelle, J.W. Kendrick of Barling, AR, and Frank Kendrick of Van Buren three sisters, Mary Austin of Russellville, Vera Goats of Russellville, and Fay Casey of Ukiah, CA sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 1, 2005, at Cornwell Funeral Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Terry Helms officiating.
