Tillery, Mona Rae

Mona Rae Tillery, age 64, of Paris, AR, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 in Little Rock, AR. She was born September 19, 1943 in Charleston, AR, to Frank and Erma (Street) Hutchins. She was a homemaker and the widow of Bill Rye.

She is survived by daughters; Nona Grigsby of Booneville, AR, Brenda Smith of Paris, AR; and son Aubrey Rye of Dardanelle, AR; sisters Judy Tuhn of Grand Junction, Iowa; Lou Furstenberg of Paris, AR and Helen Krigbaum of Paris, AR; Brothers, Lester Hutchins of Alma, AR, James Hutchins of Paris, AR, Monroe Hutchins of Paris, AR, Ronnie Hutchins of Bloomer, AR, and also 5 grandchildren.

Tillman, Cassandra "Cassie" Mallorie

Cassandra "Cassie" Mallorie Tillman passed from this earth to her heavenly home Saturday, December 26, 2009.

Left to cherish Cassie's memory are her parents, Jeremy and Caliese Tillman of Russellville; siblings, Jace and Hannah of Russellville; grandparents, Conner and Dawn Collier of Russellville, James and Shirley Milliard of Centerville, Cathy and Stuart Samford of Lufkin, TX; aunts and uncles, Eric Collier of Russellville, Carissa Collier of Russellville, Brittany Collier of Russellville, K. John E. Tillman, age 85, of Paris, brother of Roy E. Tillman Sr. of Centerville, died Thursday, December 15, 1983.

Joseph Roy Tillman, Sr. age 84, of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, September 17, 1985 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a retired farmer and cattleman and was a member of Slaty Crossing Free Will Baptist Church.

Billy Tilmon, age 79 of Dardanelle, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1928 at Dardanelle to the late Bill and Bertha Dacus Tilmon.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Treva Louise Rook Tilmon; brother, Basil Buddy; sister, Virginia "Tincy", Avery; daughter, Tommie Lou Foster; step sister, Violet Wilson; adopted son, Jerl McNeese.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Connie Tilmon of Dardanelle; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Tilmon Hopkins and husband Jess of Hot Springs Village, Vickie Tilmon of Dardanelle, Robyn Tilmon Moore and husband John of Dardanelle; sisters and brother-in-law, Oreda Tucker of Dardanelle, Bernice and Nick Bynum of Russellville; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.

Tilmon, Mary Frances (Farrington)

Mary Frances Tilmon, age 91, of Dardanelle died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born March 3, 1921 at Freedonia, Kan. to the late Russell and Pearl Ray Farrington. During WWII she worked for U.S. Rubber in Detroit, Mich. She married Opal Tilmon in 1947 and their son, Tommy, was born in 1949. She worked for awhile for the Dardanelle Lunchroom. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, a volunteer of St, Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, a member of the Council Oaks Chapter #589 Order of the Eastern Star, and helped deliver Meals on Wheels. Her parents opened the Kountry Kandy Kitchen making many delicious candies, including hand dipped chocolates. Frances and her sister, Marion Thaxton, assisted them and continued operation after his death until early 1960's.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Opal Tilmon; a son, Tommy Allen Tilmon; sister, Marion Pearl Thaxton; and two brothers, Charles Farrington and Red Farrington.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle with Pastor Jim Benfer officiating. Burial will be Private. Rick Leon Tilmon, age 46, of Centerville, AR died Friday, December 28, 2001 in Little Rock. Mr. Tilmon was born August 10, 1955 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Falvel Leon "Bill" and Ima Jean Grimes Tilmon. He was a truck driver for Tyson Foods in Springdale, Arkansas.

Survivors are his wife, Victoria Faulkinbury Tilmon; a daughter, Vanessa Jean Tilmon of Dardanelle, two sons, Ricky Leon Tilmon of Centerville, Damien Martinez of Stockton, California; a brother, Randy Tilmon of Dardanelle and two sisters, Venita Tilmon of Santa Cruz, California and Betty Tilmon Galarza of Dardanelle, several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services were Friday, January 4, 2002 at 3:00 p. m. Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service, Dardanelle. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Opal Tilmon.

Victoria A. Tilmon, 54, of Yell County died Sunday, December 25, 2011. She was born September 11, 1957, in Joplin, Mo., to Bennie and Alretta Hunley Faulkinbury.

She was preceded in death by her father and two husbands, Eloi Martinez and Ricky Tilmon Sr.

Survivors include her mother, Alretta Faulkinbury of California; two sons, Ricky Leon Tilmon Jr. of Atkins and Damion Martinez of California; one daughter, Vanessa Tilmon of Texas; three brothers, Richard, Roy and Fred Faulkinbury; one sister, Lorna Huffstatler; and two grandchildren.

Curtis Lee Tindall, 35, of Dover, died Friday, March 26, 2010, near Belleville, IL. He was born January 16, 1975 at Russellville to Charley Carl and Patricia Carol Walters Tindall.

Connie Ruth Phillips Tinsley, age 44 of Glendale, AZ, formerly of Havana, passed away August 7, 2011 at her home. She was born November 25, 1966 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Paul and Eva Moats Phillips. She was an Air Force Veteran and Red Cross Volunteer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brothers, Bruce Allen and Dwight Warren Phillips.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Jeremiah Tinsley; sons, Joshua and Jericho Tinsley of the home; siblings and spouses, John and Sandra Phillips of Pottsville, Paulette and James Crabill of Dardanelle, Carrie and Jimmy Graham of Pine Bluff, Jerry and Sonja Phillips of Murfreesboro, Jimmy and Laura Phillips of KS, Jason and Sirina Phillips of Havana; several nieces and nephews; her companions, Abbie, Sadie, Sedona, Penny and Pooh.

(Oct. 3, 1986) Ben Tippit, age 83, of Casa died Friday at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Jim and Martha Jane Stout Tippit, and a retired lineman for Rock Island Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Inez Davis Tippit.

Hollis D. Tippit, age 75, of Casa, AR went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Roy Tippit, Sr. and Nell McCabe Tippit, he was born March 2, 1932 in Casa. He was a poultry and cattle farmer and owner and operator of H&J Farms in Casa. He was a member of the Casa Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years and was a bible class teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kerry Luttrell, a brother, George Tippit.

He is survived by his wife, June Tippit of Casa; a son, Joel & Ginger Tippit of Russellville; three daughters, Kay & Fred Pogue of Casa, Maria Field of North Little Rock, Ramona J. Parker of Casa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Tippit, Jr. of Ola.

She was the widow of Roy Tippit, Sr. and also preceded in death by a son, James "George" Tippit of Ola, AR.

Adrain Robert Tippy, age 62 of Ola, died Sunday, July 20. 2008 at Chambers Memorial Hospital after a long debilitating battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1945 in Plainview, AR to the late William Myles & Elsie Estell Collins Tippy.

He is survived by brother, Sherman William Tippy of Plainview and a sister, Melba James Pitts of Casa. Adrain married former wife Tommy Lorean Lightfoot on May 1, 1965 in Tulia, TX. There were four children born to them Robert Henry Tippy of Davenport, OK, William Kelcy Tippy of Artesia, New Mexico, James Loyad Tippy of Chico, TX and Teressa Joy Craft of Gage, OK; five grandsons and seven granddaughters.

Mrs. Elsie Estelle Tippy, age 70, of Plainview died Thursday, August 18, 1988 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church at Plainview.

Survivors include two sons, Sherman William Tippy and Adrian Robert Tippy, both of Plainview; a daughter, Melba James of Plainview; a brother, Brownlo Collins of Apline; five sisters, Zettie Haney of Centerville, Hettie Brown, Leola Sisson, Ozelma Walker all of Dardanelle, and Idell Burns of Portland; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Titsworth, David Wayne (Rev.)

Rev. David Wayne Titsworth, age 48, of Russellville, AR died Friday, June 5, 1998 at AMI St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, AR. He was born February 13, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Leroy H. and Agnes Harderson Titsworth.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Keith Titsworth; two daughters, Alisa Martin of Dover and Julie Baer of Russellville; two brothers, Danny C. Tice of Russellville and Rev. Joe Titsworth of Dover; three sisters, Kathleen Whorton, Patricia Whorton and Barbara Harris all of Harrison and six grandchildren.

Toffelmire, Margaret O.

Margaret O. Toffelmire, age 80 of Dardanelle died Sunday, July 16, 2000 at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Hot Springs. She was born November 18, 1919 in Booneville, Arkansas to the late Ira Otha and Artie Grace Moore Warren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Toffelmire, a daughter, Shirley Gilbert, and two sisters, Juanita Gray and Wave Warren.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Kim Toffelmire, Henderson, Nevada; Steve and Lorna Toffelmire, Dardanelle, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Dennis Magee, of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers and sisters-in law Sonny and Melba Warren, Dardanelle, AR; and John and Lavina Warren, Dardanelle, AR; a son-in-law Ray Gilbert, Ft Smith, AR; eight grandchildren David Gilbert, Mark Gilbert, Richard Gilbert, Brad Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Amy Toffelmire, Emily Toffelmire, and Jessica Toffelmire; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2000, 10:00 a. m. at Brearley Cemetery with Rev. Jim Pennington officiating. Toft, Harold William

Harold William Toft, age 96, of Dardanelle, AR passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Legacy Lodge Nursing Home of Russellville, AR, where he was a patient for six years. He was born in Aldine, TX on May 1, 1909 to Larwence H. and Elmore Cadell Toft. His former wife, Mary Ester Benefield-Batchelor died in 2002. They had no children. In his youth he worked as a rigger in the oil fields of Texas and late was the owner of a Houston, TX Insulation Business and a swimming pool service company in the 1970's he moved to Mobile, AL where he became proprietor of a motel. In 1980 he and his companion moved to Dardanelle. In his golden years of retirement he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, painting and calligraphy. He is a veteran of WWII and served his country with honor in France. He is currently a life member of Boyce Woods VFW Post #3141 of Dardanelle.

He is survived by his 101 year-old sister, Loyce Callahan of Houston, TX and by his nephew George W. Riddle of Dardanelle, AR. Tolleson, Quinton

Quinton Tolleson, age 79, of Hot Springs, died Friday, October 16, 1987, in a local hospital. He was born in Belleville and he was a Baptist. He was a retired construction engineer.

Survivors include one sister Eva Smithey of Hot Springs; one sister-in-law Myrtle Tolleson of Little Rock and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held in the Hunt's Chapel Cemetery in Yell County near Rover. Pallbearers were the nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. James Gardner, Dr. B. Tolzman, Dennis L.

Dennis L. Tolzman, age 54, of Fort Smith, AR died Wednesday evening at home. He was born in Mason City, Iowa and moved with his family to Fort Smith 23 years ago. He was owner of Tolzman Jewelers for 22 years. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 27 years and served faithfully as a ministerial servant in the south congregation of Fort Smith until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda D. Tolzman; two daughters, Jill Titsworth of Van Buren, AR and Allison Hollis of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Brett of Springhill, FL; five grandchildren; his parents, Lillian and Lavern Tolzman of Havana, AR; two sisters, Diane Neuhring of Mason City, Iowa and Susan Berry of Havana, AR; a brother, Albert of Mullen, ID; four nieces and two nephews and a innumerable of loving and loyal friends.

Tolzman, Lavern A.

LaVern A. Tolzman, age 85, of Havana, Ark. died May 11, 2010. He was born December 3, 1924 in Osage, Iowa to Herman and Minnie Berg Tolzman. He worked for the municipal sanitation department in Mason City, Iowa, in a sugar beet processing plant, Armor meat packing plants and worked many years in construction all while managing his own farm. After retiring, he worked for the Corps of Engineers in North Dakota and Waveland, Ark. as a gate attendant. LaVern was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Mason City, Iowa and attended the Moore's Chapel Church in Waveland, Ark. While serving in the Army in World War II he participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the first wave of the Normandy invasion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Albert, Dennis and Jeff Tolzman; one sister, Bernice Smith; and two brothers, Paul and Arthur Bartelt.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Lillian Rose Young Tolzman; two daughters, Diane Neuhring and husband, Robert of Mason City, Iowa and Susan Berry and husband, Thomas of Havana, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Brad Neuhring and (Joan) of Mason City, Iowa, Lori Schmidt and husband, Doug of Nora Springs, Iowa, Christine Berry of Atwater, Calif., Stacey Henderson and husband Harold of Russellville, Ark., Jill Titsworth and husband, Eugene of Van Buren, Ark., Allison Hollis and husband, Danny of Fort Smith, Ark., Brett Bishop of Fort Smith, Ark., John Tolzman of Rock Falls, Iowa, Tawny McElroy and husband, Price of Scottsdale, Ariz.; fifteen great grandchildren, Brandon Schmidt and (Ashley), Jeremy Schmidt and wife, Cassidy, Steven and Austin Schmidt, Zachary and Ashtyn Schmidt, Paige Rahn, Bryeanna Nordin and husband, Khris, Conner Berry, Ryan McKinney, Spencer Bodeker and wife, Kati and Brook Bodeker, Lindsay Bishop, Stone and Blade Tolzman; one great-great-grandchild, Kaiden Schmidt; many nieces and nephews.

Tomlinson, Johnnie Mae

Johnnie Mae Tomlinson, age 91 of Danville, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born August 22, 1917 in Belleville, Arkansas to the late Ford Henry and Ina Mae Magee Tomlinson.

Torbett, Ed C.

Ed C. Torbett of Fayetteville, Arkansas died June 3, 2009 at his home. He was born in Danville, Arkansas in 1922 to Damon Carlos Torbett and Jewell Forrester Torbett.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Eaton Torbett; sons, Jack Torbett and Brett Torbett and his wife, Sara Torbett of Fayetteville; and cousin, Elizabeth Johnson of Bentonville.

In 1940, Ed graduated from Danville High School where he was highly involved in athletics as a left-handed quarterback for the Little Johns as well as a pitcher for the baseball team. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville before joining the United States Navy where he completed their flight training program, graduating among the top ten in his class. He was offered the choice of remaining with the Navy or joining the United States Marine Corps. He chose the Marine Corps. In 1943, he was appointed a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Air Wing. During a 20 year military career, he flew the F4U Corsair in the Pacific Theater during World War II, seeing action in the Battle of Peleliu. He also flew the Corsair in the Korean War, during which he provided air support for soldiers during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Over the course of these two wars, he flew a total of 251 combat missions from both land and aircraft carriers. For his services, Lt. Col. Torbett was awarded five Distinguished Flying Crosses, 16 Air Medals and ten additional citations including an Asian Pacific Combat Medal, a World War II Victory Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation as well as others. He retired from the military in 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel and returned to the University of Arkansas where he completed a B. A. degree in business. He then began a successful real estate company in Fayetteville, was a rancher, and at the age of 56, became a father and raised two sons.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 8, 2009 at Moores Chapel in Fayetteville, with Dr. H. D. McCarty presiding. DANVILLE - Lee Bunnen Torbitt, age 84, of Fort Smith, formerly of Danville, died Saturday, January 25, 1986 at Sparks Regional Medical Center at Fort Smith. He was a native of Texas, son of the late John and Etta Dailey Torbitt, and was a Mason.
