Williamson, Earl

ROCKWALL - Funeral services for Earl Williamson of Rockwall are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at the Lyons Funeral chapel here. Gene Lofton will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockwall Cemetery. He died Wednesday afternoon in Garland hospital. The son of George and Theodicia Beattie Williamson, he was born on Feb. 15, 1903 in Rockwall.

Survivors are three brothers, Hugh and Joe Williamson of Dallas and Mims Williamson of Rockwall; and four sisters, Iris Birdwell of Greenville, Edith Abbott of Amarillo, Georgie Fulton of Craig, Colo, and Evelyn Bitheimer of Little Rock, Ark. Williamson, Randy Jill Knight

Randy Jill Knight Williamson, 36, of Dardanelle died Friday, December 16, 2005 at UAMS at Little Rock. She was born November 30, 1969, in Russellville. She was a 1988 graduate of Danville High School and member of the Danville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delena Robinson Knight an infant sister, Shanatha Knight; grandparents, Dewey and Vossie Robinson, Fred and Lavada Knight.

Survivors include her father, Sam Knight of Dardanelle uncles and aunts, Sandra Knight of Dardanelle, Dale and Mary Knight of Belleville, Tela and Waymon Sherrill of Belleville, Hellen Maughn of Danville, Harold and Patsy Robinson; many friends and cousins.

Funeral service was held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Staley officiating. Internment was at Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Home, Danville. Pallbearers were Tommy Papasan, Scott Robinson, Fred Knight, Eddie Knight, Brett Papasan, Matt Papasan, Joe Knight and Buddy Maughn. Williamson, Ruth

Ruth Williamson, 88, of Hot Springs died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at a local hospital. She was a seamstress and member of Second Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Mack Williamson, and a daughter, Barbara A. Lewis.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. and Helen Williamson of Magnolia; a daughter, Luda Leferink of Poplar Bluff, Mo. three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Helen Anderson, Pat and Clara Bee Anderson and R. L. and Imo-gene Anderson, all of Hot Springs; and six grandchildren.

Willis, Andy Dot

Andy Dot Willis, age 68, of Tulsa, OK passed away Saturday, August 8, 1992 at a Tulsa hospital. He was the son of the late Andrew W. Willis and Velma Ferguson, natives of Gravelly, AR. They moved to Bixby, OK in about 1920 where they made their home and truck farmed in the Arkansas River bottoms north of Leonard, OK.

He is survived by wife of 49 years, E. Oleta of the home; daughter, Cheryl Lundgren, son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Susan Willis, grandsons, Terry Lundgren and Matthew and David Willis all of Tulsa. Also surviving are two sisters, Vada McElroy of Bixby and Irene Mabry of Plainview, Chula community, Arkansas, one brother, Hubert Willis of Bixby and several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired Captain of the Tulsa Fire Department after 32 year-Tulsa Fire Department after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a 32nd 71, a member of Tulsa Scottish Rite, Akdar Shrine, and Oddfellow Lodge No. 151. He was also a decorated Veteran of U. S. Army service in WWII. He attended Southern Hills Baptist Church and was an avid sports fan. He was a very loving and giving husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Betty Willis, age 61, of Briggsville, AR died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was born July 14, 1937 at Briggsville, AR to the late Ike and Minnie Keys Spears.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G. A. Willis, Sr. an infant daughter, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, G. A. Willis, Jr. of Danville and Larry Willis of Briggsville; four daughters, Sherry Short of Briggsville, Faye Burnett of Plainview; Anita Milligan of Rover and Jennifer Howell of Briggsville; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was April 16 1999 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at, Briggsville, AR by Rev. Allan; Newsted. Carol Sue Willis, age 46 of Rover, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at home with her family by her side. She was born January 21, 1962 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert Lonnie and Darlas June Wright Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Lonnie Andrews, a son Leo Swann and sister Peggy Hoban.

Survivors include daughter and future son-in-law Fonda Willis and Danny Hoyle of Rover; mother Darlas J. Andrews of Plainview; father of her daughter Larry Willis of Briggsville; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert & Millard Andrews of Pottsville, Harry Andrews of Pine Bluff, Carl & Nita Andrews of Rover; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan M. Dennis of Russellville, Julie Johnson of Waveland, Patricia & Billy Reed of Rover and John Hoban of London; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Clifford Eugene Willis, Jr. age 37, of Tulsa, OK formerly of Russellville, AR died Thursday, April 3, 1998 in Tulsa. He was a siding applicator and a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors are his wife, Peggy Hanna Willis; a son, Michael B. Willis of Dardanelle; two stepdaughters, Marcia Brixey of Dardanelle and Misty Lewis of Tulsa, OK; father, Clifford Eugene Willis, Sr. of Dover, AR; mother, Billie D. Coffman Willis of Russellville, AR; three sisters, Sherri Corbin of London, AR, Brenda Bounds and Debra Nutt both of Little Rock, AR; two granddaughters, Hannah Hurst and Haley Brixey both of Dardanelle, AR.

Willis, Glynn Esten

Glynn Esten Willis, age 69, died Monday morning, March 16, 1998 at his home in Millville, NJ after a brief illness. He was born in Gravelly, AR. He was graduate of the Fourche Valley School, an Army Veteran and had resided in New Jersey for the past 31 years.

He is survived by his mother, Ila Willis of Gravelly; a brother, Twain Willis of Gravelly; one son, David Willis of Coupeville, WA; four daughters, Donna Rowland of Ringgold, GA, Barbara Kennard of Thomson, GA, Linda Rittenhouse and Carol Kolb both of Pennsylvania; and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Allen Willis and a daughter, Diane Alicia. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville, NJ. Ila Bertha Willis, age 98, of Gravelly, AR, died Friday, January 9, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born September 11, 1905 in Little Texas, AR to the late John and Laura Hunt McCormack. She was a mother, homemaker, a member of the Gravelly Eastern Star and a member of the Gravelly Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Willis and a son, Glynn Willis.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Twain and Johnie Willis of Gravelly; two sisters, Lillie Powell of Waldron, AR and Neva Laster of Danville, AR; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral service was January 11, 2004 at the Gravelly Methodist Church with Rev. Royce Savage and Rev. J. A. Hunnicutt officiating. Eulogy was given by Mark Barton followed by Eastern Star rites. Willis, Jonnie Sue

Jonnie Sue Willis, age 74, of Gravelly, AR died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Rich Mountain Nursing & Rehab in Mena, AR. She was born March 24, 1933 in Wing, AR, a daughter of the late John and Irene Lazenby Gillum. She graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College now UCA, where she received a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and received her Master Degree from University of Arkansas. She taught school for 30 years, teaching in Charleston, Rogers, Fourche Valley, Hampton and Mena Schools. She was a long time Sunday School teachers and a member of the Gravelly First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, Allen and Ila Willis, brother, Harry Gillum, sister-in-law, Ruth Gillum and brother-in-law Bill Workman.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Twain Willis; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Mark Barton of Mena, AR and Paula and Vernon Garrett of Wetumpka, AL, sisters brothers-in-law, Jan Workman of Fort Worth, TX, Barbara and Bill Arrington of Vicksburg, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat and Barbara Gillum of Arkadelphia and Harold and Louise Gillum of Wing, AR; five grandchildren, Alisha Barton, Cole Barton, Stephanie Garrett and Brandon and Cassie Garrett and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Willis age 56 of Dardanelle died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the River Valley Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1953 in Russellville lo the late Charles and Neola Haston Cole. She graduated from Dardanelle High School and Arkansas Tech University and was a medical clerk for the River Valley Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother. Charlie Cole.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie & Shelley Willis of Russellville, grandchildren, Corbin. Carson Kelsey and Callie all of Russellville and a brother. John "Chile" Cole of Dardanelle and a host of family and friends.

Mrs. Verena M. Willis, age 84, of Dardanelle, AR, widow of Oscar Willis, died Monday, December 8, 1997 at the Saline Nursing Center in Benton. She was born May 5, 1913 in Centerville, AR to the late James Emmitt and Minnie F. Webb Cain. She was a retired floral designer and a Methodist.

Willis, Walter Coy

Walter Coy Willis, age 89, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, April 11, 1998 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born October 22, 1908 in Soda Valley, north of Greenbrier, AR. He was the last surviving son of George Henry Willis and Nora Dell Craig Willis of that community. He was a barber in Dardanelle from the late 1920's until the early 1970's. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marie Farnam Willis and a grandson, Timothy Lynn Willis.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Gene Willis of Dardanelle, James Lee Willis of Borger, TX and Fred Alan Willis of Boulder, CO; one daughter, Margaret Ann Willis Barker of Flint, MI; one sister, Vannie Strawn of Lorton, VA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and the eight children of his brother, Tommy Willis; Bonnie Sue Wimberly of Carrollton, TX, Betty Mashburn of Little Rock, Jimmy Willis of Lake Charles, LA, Dick Willis of Dardanelle, Linda Wood, Judy Jordan and Danny Willis all of Russellville.

Louise Brown Willmon, age; 86, of Benton passed away Friday, May 16, 2008. She was born May 10, 1922 in Waveland, Arkansas. Mrs. Willmon was a homemaker and a member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mary Caroline Thomas; two husbands, Lester T. Brown and Cortis Willmon; son, Lester T. Brown, Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy Howard and Mary Alice Wattenbarger and two brothers, James H. (Bud) Thomas and James E. Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Janis Rafferty and husband Wendell of Benton; sister, Berniece James of Maumelle; two grandchildren, Alan Rafferty of Benton and Susan Collins and husband Chad of Bartlett, Tennessee; one great granddaughter, Jenna Collins and several nieces and nephews.

Wills, Shirley Jeannine

Shirley Jeannine Wills, age 70, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at UAMS in Little Rock. She was the daughter of Clifford and Marjorie Howell, born at home in Mount Hope, KS on July 9, 1936. She was baptized by emersion into the Federated Church on Mount Hope, she later became a member of the First United Methodist Church. She received a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from Wichita State University. She attended the University of Southern California, Colorado University and Kansas University.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wallace Howell.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Whitney Wills; a son Michael Wills; a daughter, Lisa Wills Mader and four grandchildren Bryan and Lauren Mader and Bradford and Olivis Wills.

Audrey "Sis" Madden Wilson, age 84, of Danville, AR died Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at the Atkins Nursing Home in Atkins, AR. She was born February 22, 1916 in Yell County, AR to the late Asgul and Minnie Vastine Phillips. She was a retired Wayne Poultry employee.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Felix Madden and Theron Wilson.

Billy Dale Wilson, age 53, of Delaware, AR died Monday, December 29, 2008 at his home. He was born December 9, 1955 at Camden to the late Billy and Jean Hogue Wilson. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle and was retired from Con Agra.

Wilson, Charles L. "Charlie"

Charles L. "Charlie" Wilson, 69, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 in Tulsa. He was born October 29, 1934 in Danville, Arkansas. After graduating from Danville High School he married Bernice Powers, also of Danville, on June 5, 1954 and moved to Stillwater, where he was employed with Safeway. His work brought them to Sand Springs in 1959 where they have resided since raising four children. Charlie left Safeway in 1967 and worked for Sheffield Steel for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with the grandkids since retiring in June of 1997.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, four children; daughters, Penny Michelle Sullivan and Lisa Seism and husband Scott, all of Tulsa; sons Donald Wilson and wife Billie of Sapulpa, and Chris Lee Wilson and wife Kelli of Sand Springs sister Beatrice Miller and husband Carl of Danville, Arkansas; grandchildren Beau and Kati Wilson, Jason and Eric Seism, Abbey and Michael Sullivan, and Emilee and Levi Wilson, great-grandson Trenton Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles Leroy Wilson, 78, of Dardanelle died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at St. Vincent Medical Infirmary at Little Rock. Born Oct. 1, 1925, in Lonoke County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Effie Honeycutt Wilson, and a member of First Baptist Church in Dardanelle. He retired after 30 years as a rice and soybean farmer.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Ray Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rebecca Jane Phillips Wilson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles P. "Chuck" and LaJean Wilson of Danville and Steven and Lynn Wilson of Greenbrier; a sister, Louise Pinson of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Patsy Wilson of Lonoke; and grandchildren and spouse, Chip and Alison Wilson of Russellville, Cara Jean Wilson of Danville and Beth Wilson and Katie Wilson of Greenbrier.

Funeral was Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Cornwell Chapel by the Rev. Milton Cowling. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Delbert Dewayne "Danny" Wilson, age 48 of Plainview died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at his home. He was born on August 6, 1957 in Rayville, Louisiana to Jim and Celia Roach Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Norman Wilson.

Wilson, Diane Dobbs

Diane Dobbs Wilson, age 56, passed away at the UAMS Medical Center, on Sunday, March 4, 2007. A daughter of the late Ray Wright Dobbs and the late Lenora (Smith) Dobbs, she was born in Little Rock, AR, on January 25, 1951. She was united in marriage to Larry E. Wilson on April 3, 1970. She was a member of the Perryville First Baptist Church and was a program director for Perry and Conway County Senior Adult Centers. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, gardening her flowers and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Dr. Carroll Dobbs.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Larry E. Wilson of Perryville, AR; one son John Wilson of Perryville, AR and one sister Joan Tramell of Florence, KS, many loving friends and family that will truly miss her.

Estelle Wilson, 86, of Waldron, Arkansas died on Friday, November 5, 2004 at Waldron Hospital.

Wilson, Eva - Longtime Business Owner In Danville

A longtime business owner Monday, Eva Wilson, age 90 died last Friday, April 22, 2005. She and her late husband, Aaron "Arzo" Wilson owned and operated the Wilson Grocery Store on Main Street and later bought the Danville Cleaners. For many years, the Wilson's operated the cleaning business that was located adjacent to the old Danville Hotel building on Main Street. Ms. Wilson and her daughter, Eva Jane Gibson of Danville, continued to operate the cleaning business for several years after Arzo passed away.

Wilson, Eva Jo

Eva Jo Wilson, age 90, of Danville died Friday, April 22, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born November 26, 1914, in Hartford, AR to the late Luke Alonzo and Pearl Elizabeth Brown Wallace. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville. She and her late husband, Aaron "Arzo" Wilson owned and operated Wilson Grocery and Danville Cleaners for many years.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ottis, Autry, George, Orvis and Arnold Wallace and one sister, Camilla Wallace and a step grandson, Larry Wilson.

Survivors are one son, Aaron Wilson of Killeen, TX, three daughters and husband, Betty Jo and Loyce Tapp of Havana, Eva Jane Gibson of Danville, Linda Kay Nesbitt of Dardanelle, stepdaughter Bettie Marie Wilson of Sand Springs, OK, brothers and wives, Orval and Anita Wallace of Tulsa, Alvin and Vivian Wallace of Springfield, sister and husband, Clayda and Charles Stead of Tulsa, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Pastor Joe Tapp officiating. Burial took place at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Wilson, James Theron

Mr. James Theron Wilson, age 77, of Danville, AR died Saturday, February 15, 1997 at St. Vincents Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born December 25, 1920 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late Perron Alford and Melinda Swafford Wilson. He was a past Deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Danville. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a retired meat cutter with Tygarts Grocery in Danville and a maintenance worker for the Yell County Hospital in Danville.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elwanda Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey "Sis" Madden Wilson; three sons, James T. Wilson, Jr. of Danville, Larry Wilson of Perryville and David Wilson of Ashdown; a sister, Bessie Branham of Dover; two step-sons, Harold Madden of Little Rock and Gerold Madden of Danville; two step-daughters, Martha Wills of Little Rock and Carolyn Prevost of Pickerington, OH; six grandchildren; six step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday, February 17, 1997 at the Danville First Baptist Church with the Rev. E. O. Tackett and Rev. Bobby Walker officiating. Joyce Carolyn Wilson, age 83 of Danville died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born in Havana, AR on March 30, 1922 to Fair and Glidden Hollingsworth Nelson. She was a nursing graduate of the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, TN. She nursed for over 40 years. She had worked with the Department of Health, over many years with Yell County Hospital now Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She had served as Hospital Administrator and Director of Nurses. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Danville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack Nelson and Lewis Nelson; a sister, Ann Woker and her granddaughter, Lindsey Margaret Burks.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack L. Wilson, Sr.; her son, Jack L. Wilson, Jr., her daughter and son-in-law, Martha Lynn and Robert Burks; a sister, Winnie Pledger all of Danville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Wilson and Melissa Burks of -Rock Springs, WY.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Danville with Reverend David Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Earl Ladd Cemetery at Danville.
