Ella Rose Tyler, 2 months of age, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at St. Mary s Regional Medical Center. The daughter of Chris and Michelle Graves Tyler, she was born March 10, 2009 in Russellville.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mark Graves and great grandparents Lima Faye & Winton Piercy. Ella was her mother s sunshine in the darkest hour. Ella had big beautiful blue eyes that lit up the room. She was truly loved and will never be forgotten. Ella Rose will always grow in her mother s heart.
She is survived by her parents, Michelle Graves Tyler & Chris Tyler of Russellville; sister, Annelise Tyler of Russellville; maternal grandparents, Jana & Terry Mackie of Dover, paternal grandparents, Butch & Toni Tackett of Danville; maternal step-grandfather, J. B. Sloop of Danville; maternal great grandparents, I. Lena Tyler, age 78, of Hollis died Friday, March 15, 2002 at St. Josephs Regional Health Center in Hot Springs, AR. She was born in Rover, AR on November 23, 1923 and is the daughter of the late Thomas Steel and Carley Edell Green Cathey.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Hays Wilburn Cathey, Thomas Wayne Cathey, Milburn Edwin Cathey, and Raymond Glen Cathey, and three sisters, Bonnie Reece, Zerline Williams, and Virgie Cochran.
Survivors include her husband, Oval W. Tyler; a son, Robert Williams and a daughter, Jolene Mull, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, Willious Cathey or Rover; a sister, Pauline Pelt of Dardanelle.

Oval Tyler, age 88 of Hollis died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at his home. He was born April 18, 1914 in Hollis, Arkansas to the late Allie and Savannah Jones Tyler. He was a WWII Army Veteran and retired after 41 years from AMF in California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Tyler; three brothers, Herman Tyler, Cleo Tyler, Herschel Tyler.
Survivors include one son, Robert Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Jolene Moll of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Therrin Tyler of Maumelle and Theo Tyler of Bigelow; three half-sisters, Sybil Orum, Sylvia Aldridge and Martha Ann Muncy all of Fresno, California and a host of nephews and nieces.

Ruby Billue Tyler, age 81, of Little Rock, AR passed away Saturday, September 4, 2004. She was born January 31, 1923, in Plainview, AR, the daughter of Robert E. and Beulah (Ross) Billue. She was a 1940 graduate of Plainview-Rover High School and belonged to the Kruizin Knukes Travel Club, the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star and was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Therian "Bud" Tyler; a granddaughter, Alycia Gillum and a sister, Virgie Nell Brasier.
She is survived by her husband of 64-years, Therian E. Tyler; two daughters, Jan Tyler and Ron Loney of South Dakota and Jeanne Tyler Crews of Little Rock; two sisters, Ruth Reed of -Katy, TX and Gladys Lowell of Vacaville, CA; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The Spirit and the Soul left the body of Theo Tyler Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born December 95 1919, in Hollis, AR. He was 88 and a member of Bigelow Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Verla Mae (Mahan) Tyler.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Kenneth Tipton of Bigelow; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Therian Elbert Tyler, 87, of Little Rock, passed away March 7, 2005. He was born December 10, 1917 to Allie W. Tyler and Savannah Jones Tyler. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and for over fifty years was a member of the Scottish Rite, Kruizin Knukes Travel Club, and a veteran of WWII. He was a retired cement mason, and a member of AFL/CIO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby, one son, Bud Tyler, four brothers, Herman, Cleo, Oval, and Herschel Tyler, and one grandchild, Alycia Gillum.
He is survived by his daughters, Jan Loney and her husband, Ron of New Effington, South Dakota, and Jeanne Crews of Little Rock; brother, Theo Tyler of Bigelow, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005 at Plainview United Methodist Church and Reverend by Billie Jean Tate officiating. Bryan Underwood, age 65 of Havana, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at his home in Havana. He was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on May 1, 1940 to Bertie and Helen Winnie Graham Underwood. He served in the United States Army, and was retired from Wayne Poultry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Daniel Underwood and Johnny Ray Underwood and a sister, Betty May Underwood.

Dr. Eric Ott Underwood, age 70, of Waveland died Monday in a hospital in Ft. Smith. Dr. Underwood had been a medical doctor at Waveland for the last 49 years. Ina Mae Underwood, age 80; A graveside service will be held in Patterson for longtime resident Ina Mae Johnston Underwood. She died Monday [June 23, 2003] at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. Born in Rover, Ark., Mrs. Underwood lived in Patterson for 60 years. She was a homemaker.

He was born June 7, 1938 at Scranton, to the late Arthur and Suzie Melinda Campbell Underwood. He was a member for the First Baptist Church in Delaware. He was retired from Robinson Inc; in earlier years working in timber is what he enjoyed. He was a retired member of the National Guard and Ready Reserves of the U. S. Army.

Vela Marie Massey Underwood, age 72, of Danville, AR died Friday, December 21, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was born October 23, 1935 in Danville, AR the daughter of the late Otis and Reetha Moss Massey. She was a member of the Danville Assembly of God Church and a pharmaceutical technician for 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Bobbye Holley and Carolyn Carr.

Donald Edward Upton, age 69 of Clarksville, died Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Clarksville Convalescent Home. Margie Ann Ussery, age 65, of Plainview, AR died Thursday, June 14, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born in Rio Hundo, TX, daughter of the late Newton Amos and Annie Eluery Whitley Wilson.

E. D. Utley, age 80, died August 11, 2002. Born November 18, 1921 in Chickalah, he was the son of the late Wiley and Suphemy Utley. He served in WWII in the 77th Navy Seabees and enjoyed 28 years of Navy reunions. He was a car salesman in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verniece Hames Utley; his parents; a sister, Edith Utley and brothers, Otha and Homer Utley.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda J. of Ft. Worth. Verniece Helen Utley, age 74, of Tulsa, OK died Wednesday, May 6, 1998 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born June 5, 1923 in Chickalah, Yell County, Arkansas to the late Roy and Georgia Pennington Hames. During WWII was did her part at Spartan Air Craft, Tulsa, OK and was secretary in the engineering division at Sun Oil Company for 33 years. She was a faithful, loyal and loving member of White City Baptist Church for 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ed D. Utley; a daughter, Brenda J. Utley of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters, Betty George of Mt. George, AR and Jean Campbell of Phoenix, AZ; an uncle, Garland Pennington of Dardanelle, AR and other family in Arkansas and Florida.

Lola Mae Valentine, age 84, of Ola, AR was called home March 31, 2003 at her home in Ola, AR. She was a salesman and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Winton, CA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in McLeod, OK. Her passion in life was her family and bingo.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Harold J. Collins and Donald G. Collins.

Mrs. Audrey S. Vance, age 90, of Dardanelle, AR widow of Ross Jennings Vance died Monday, April 10, 2000 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville, AR. She was born September 26, 1909 in Zearing, Iowa to the late Frank and Jane Humphrey Pierce. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. She taught school in Iowa for ten years before moving to Dardanelle and she taught in Dardanelle School District for 29 years before her retirement. She was a member of the AEA Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, Yell County Retired Teachers Association and the Pisgah Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Vance.
Survivors are, two sons, James Vance of Dardanelle, AR and David Vance of Sparks, Nevada; one daughter, Jane Rainey of Pine Bluff, AR; two sisters, Edna Fields of Ackworth, IA and Vivian Neubaeur of California; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Bobbye Bradley Vance, age 75, of Benton, AR died Friday, October 12, 2001 at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock, AR. She was born February 28, 1926 in Eudora, AR to the late Robert and Gertrude Clark Bradley. She was a retired floor supervisor for Wal-Mart and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Dardanelle.
Survivors are one son, Gary Vance of Maumelle, AR; daughter, Jacklyn Hirakawa of Los Alamos, NM; two sisters, Betty Bradley Bird of Houston, TX and June Bradley Henderson of Chicago, IL and two grandsons, Eric and Brandon Hirakawa.

James R. Vance, age 69 of Dardanelle, died Monday, December 3, 2007, at the River Valley Medical Center. A son of the late Ross Jennings and Audrey Sarah Pierce Vance, he was born May 22, 1938 in Webster City, IA. He attended Dardanelle High School before joining the United States Air Force. He received his accounting degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked following his retirement at the Bank of Dardanelle (now Rivertown Bank). He was a member of Saint John's Catholic Church in Russellville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Steven Vance.
Survivors include his wife, Dale Vance; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward James and Pamela Vance of Benton; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri Lynn and Walter Vogel of Normal, 1L; a brother, David Frank Vance of Russellville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Don Rainey of Maumelle; three grandchildren.
The funeral mass was Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Saint John's Catholic Church by Father William F. Thomas. Burial in Rest Haven Memorial Park was by Shinn Funeral Service. Dorothy VanDeMark, age 81, of Ola, AR went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2005 at the Yell County Nursing Home. She was born January 12, 1924 at Centerville, AR to Andrew and Orbie Scott Holley. She was a 1941 graduate of Ola High School and retired as secretary of the City of Ola and was a member of the Ola Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Leon, Odell, John, Scott and Billy Holley.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Diane VanDeMark of Waxahachie, TX; a brother, Charles Holley of Downey, CA; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Vitus Mayer Vandenberg, age 80, of Ola, AR died August 31, 2003 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born September 18, 1922 in Oklahoma to the late Vitus and Ora Ellen Hughey Vandenberg. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired brick layer.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Nick Vandenberg.

Mrs. Mable C. Vandiver, age 87, of Hemet, California, widow of the late Marvin Vandiver of California and the late Anderson Compton of Wing, Arkansas, died March 4, 1979, in a retirement village in Hemet, CA. She was the former Mable Caviness, daughter of Will and Elizabeth Campbell Caviness. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Nicholson of Capitola, CA; a son, Bill Bob Compton, of Maplewood, LA; one grandson, two great-granddaughters, two sisters, Mrs. Oda Lofland of Briggsville, Mrs. Lola Wilson of Vivian, LA; three half-brothers, Roy and Neal half-brothers, Roy Caviness of Winslow, Arizona, James Caviness of Corning, Calif, and Neal Caviness of Louisville, Kentucky.

Noel Arch "Buck" VanDover, 98, of Russellville, formerly of Plainview, died Friday, March 26, 2004 at Russellville Nursing Center. The son of Marshall Arch and Elizabeth Pullen VanDover, he was born August 6, 105 in Casa.
He was a 1922 graduate of Plainview-Rover High School and a 1926 graduate of Hendrix College. He attended graduate school in 1927 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta studying economics. He returned to Plainview, where with his father, he operated VanDover Hardware and had an interest in the First State Bank of Plainview and Ola. Over time, VanDover Hardware became a general store and was the Yell County representative for Gardner (now Humphrey) Funeral Home, After many years on the First State Bank Board of Directors, he became the principal owner and president. Upon sale of VanDover Hardware and First State Bank, he became associated with the Bank of Dardanelle where he served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President. He remained as an honorary member of the Board of Directors upon his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church and was honored by his church in 1977 for "loyal and faithful service to the church and community"
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Maxine Baker VanDover whom he married on June 14, 1931.

Audie Lee VanZandt, age 89, of Danville died Monday, December 17, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Mrs. VanZandt was born April 12, 1912 in Walnut Grove, Yell County, Arkansas to the late William C. "Lum" and Ida Dona Cherry Adair. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Havana.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Shaw and Travis VanZandt; three brothers, Kermitt Adair, Raymond Adair, and Virgil Adair.

Mr. James A. "Jim" VanZandt age 88, of Danville, AR died Friday, April 18, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born April 11, 1909 in Havana, AR to the late Vc-ie and Martha J. Ellis VanZandt. He was a member of the Church of God of Abrahamic Faith and retired after 27 years as a construction foreman with Arkansas Power and Light.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beatrice B. VanZandt.

Vollie Autman VanZant, age 71, of Havana, died unexpectedly Sunday while riding in an automobile with his son. Doctors reported that he suffered a heart attack. A native of Van Zandt County Texas, he had lived in Yell County for the past 60 years.

Dortha A. Vasssaur, age 90, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born March 28, 1913 in Delaware, AR to the late Norman Wood and Dora Farnam Wood Winner Jay. She was a retired line worker for Val Mac Industries and a homemaker. She was baptized at an early age and attended the First Baptist Church in Delaware until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Vassaur; three sisters, Ocie Clark, Ruth Bata and Bonnie Wood and two stepbrothers, Bobby and Kenneth Jay.
Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Arminta Winner of Delaware, Milbern and Cindy Jay of Redding, CA, Rev. David and Cilestine Jay of Dardanelle, AR, Nancy Jay of Delaware, AR and Jeanetta Jay of Dardanelle, AR; several nephews and nieces and a host of great-nephews and nieces.
Service will be Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 2:00 p. m. at Faith Church in Dardanelle with Rev. David Jay and Rev. Wiley Jones officiating.
