Krone, Mary Ann (Blair)

Mary Ann (Blair) Krone, age 57, of Roland, passed away October 4, 1999. She was the daughter of Wesley and Myrtle (Phillips Blair. She was the former owner and operator of Count Razor back Bait Store at Lake Nimrod and a member of the Roland Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Krone, Sr. three daughters and sons-in-law, LaWanda and Donald Benson, Brenda and Lance Williams all of Roland and Elizabeth Krone of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Sr. and Beverly Krone, Billy Jr. and Cindy Krone all of Roland, James and Carol Krone of Wye Mountain and Kenneth Krone, Sr. of Phoenix, AZ; a grandson, Kenneth Krone II of the home; three brothers, James Blair, David Blair and John Blair all of Roland; two sisters, Judy Blair and Dorothy Junkin both of Roland; her mother-in-law, Dolly Krone of Anchorage, AK; 14 grandchildren and two great grandsons. Mrs. Krone was loved and cared for by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral service was Friday at Roland Pentecostal Church o God with Rev. Benny Stickley officiating. Burial was in Kennerly Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Kroodsma, Lavaughn Littleton Wood

Lavaughn Littleton Wood Kroodsma, age 74 of Enterprise, Alabama formerly of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, February 25, 2000 at Enterprise Medical Center in Enterprise, AL. She was born November 7, 1925 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Wayne and Vivian Vaughn Littleton. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Ft. Rucker Chapel at Enterprise.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Wood. Survivors, husband, Gordon Kroodsma; two sons, Robert L. Wood, Jr. of Maumelle and William Jerry Wood of Jacksonville, FL; two step-sons, Greg Kroodsma of Enterprise, AL and Corky Kroodsma of Millbrook, AL; one stepdaughter, Diana Kroodsma Poist of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Robert Littleton of Dardanelle and Wayne (Junior) Littleton of San Martin, CA; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kuehn, Arnold Otto

Arnold Otto Kuehn, age 88, of Paris, AR, died April 1, 1997 at Danville, AR. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Anna Kuehn.

Survivors are one daughter, Carol Apple of Belleville; two sons, Vernon Kuehn of Indianapolis, IN and Edwin Kuehn of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kuiper, Richard William

Richard William Kuiper, age 65, died Friday, November 6, 1998 at his home in Centerville, AR. He was born July 30, 1933 in Gary, IN, the son of the late George and Renee Scheringa Kuiper. He was a carpenter, WWII Army Veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.

Harold C. Kyle, age 54, of Danville, died at the Yell County Hospital Friday, March 9. He was a lifelong resident of Yell County and a Methodist.

Kyle, Mahlon Haney

Mahlon Haney Kyle, aged 50, a native of Belleville, died December 22 in Fort Roots Hospital, North Little Rock. He had lived in Little Rock for 15 years, and until his illness was employed by the Black and White Cab Company. He was a Methodist.

Wesley Kyle Dies After Long Illness Wesley Kyle, age 52, died at his home in Danville Sunday after an illness of several months.

William Andrew "W.A." Kyle, age 92 of Danville, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born September 18, 1918 in Belleville, AR to the late Wesley and Lano Haney Kyle. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran, served in North Africa and Italy; awarded six Bronze Stars for Tunisian, Sicilian, Naples-Foggia, Rome- Arno, Northern Apennines, Po Valley Campaigns; retired as Chief Master Sergeant from the Air Force, a member of Danville First Baptist Church, Plainview VFW, Air Force Sergeant's Association and the American Legion Elks Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Prue Louise Clark, Irene Eads, Imogene Hall; brothers, Harold C. Kyle, "Bud" Mahlon Haney Kyle; niece, Betty Davis.

Henry Lee Kyles, age 79, died at his home in Havana on December 30, 1952. He was born in Marion County, Arkansas and moved to Yell County in 1907. He farmed near Havana until a few years ago when he moved into Havana. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was married to Miss Laura Lee.

Melissa Carol Lackey, age 48, a resident of Russellville, AR died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Stella Manor Nursing Center. She was born December 30, 1953, at Russellville, AR, a daughter of Maison Theodore and Emma Jean Hollowoa Standridge. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene and was retired from Contel Telephone Company where she worked as an operator and supervisor.

Carolyn Lacy, age 69, of Danville went to be with her heavenly Father on August 21, 2016, surrounded in love by her family. Born in Jacksonville, Alabama, January 16, 1947, to the late Henry Ford & Louise Goolsby McCollum.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother & father; sister Mary; first husband, Nick Berkey; and beloved grandson, Jordan.

She is survived by her husband Jack Lacy Sr; children, Margaret Tilson, Patricia Fulgaro, Lori Lacy, Jaqi Keith, Jack Lacy Jr.; siblings, Chuck McCollum, Linda Ledesma; Martha Taylor; Malcom McCollum; Larry McCollum; Robert McCollum; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 fur babies. Ladd, Earl E.

Earl E. Ladd, age 87, Danville, died at Yell County Hospital in Danville on Friday, May 13, after suffering a long illness. He was the son of Isaac and Anna Ladd.

Mr. Ladd was a native of Yell County, and served as a public official in the county 36 years, county treasurer, county assessor, and county judge and retired from the county sheriff's office in 1956, after serving 14 years as sheriff. He was never defeated in a public race for an elective office. Mr. Ladd was a 32nd Degree Mason and had received his 50-year Masonic pin, a member of the United Methodist church, Danville, and an active leader in the community for over 50 years. He was honored in 1976 by the Danville Jaycees as the Most Outstanding Man of the community, receiving the Distinguished Service Award. Before entering the profession of politics, he taught school in several areas in Yell County, one at Waltreak, where he was born. He was also a Danville businessman and former rancher.

Mr. Ladd is survived by one Daughter, Jap Ladd, and one sister, Roxie Rickenbacker, Sacramento, Calif.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Danville United Methodist Church by Bro. Hillman Bryam and Bro. Joe Kennedy. Interment was at the Earl E. Ladd, Earl E.

Earl E. Ladd, age 87, of Danville, a life-long resident of Yell County, died last Friday, May 13, at the Yell County Hospital in Danville after an extended illness, He was the son of Issac and Anna Crosby Ladd of Waltreak. Services were held Saturday at the Danville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ladd served either as an elected official or a deputy in public office in Yell County for 56 years, serving in four of five, elected offices including County Judge, County Treasurer, County Assessor and County Sheriff, He retired in 1956 after seeing 14 years as sheriff and collector, and was never defeated in a public race for an derive office during his entire life.

He was married to the former Edith Castleberry of Briggsville and is survived by one daughter, Jap Lad and one sister, Roxie Rickenbacker of Sacramento, California.

Mr. Ladd was a 32nd Degree Mason and received his 50-year Masonic pin. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. On April 10, 1976, he was honored by the Danville Jaycees with the Distinguished Service Award along with his lifelong friend, Buford Compton.

Began Teaching in 1906. Mr. Ladd began a career of teaching in Yell County in 1906, teaching in many of the rural schools of that time, including Waltreak where he was born. He entered politics some 14 years later when he was elected Tax Assessor in 1920, He held this office 4 years and was elected Yell County and Probate Judge, serving 4 years, from 1925 through 1928, He was then appointed deputy sheriff by Sheriff Buford Compton in 1931, and resigned to enter the race for the office of County Treasurer in 1940, where he served from 1941 to 1946. Mr. Ladd was then elected to the office of sheriff in 1946 and remained in that office from 1947 until 1956, when he retired from public office, ending a reign of some 36 years in the courthouse.

Upon leaving the courthouse in 1956, he found that a crowd of his friends had gathered on the courthouse square, Stopping on the steps, he said to them: 'Thirty-six years ago, in this yard, I saddled a frisky, sorrel colt, and today I am taking that saddle off a tired old, grey horse."

By profession, he owned a stock farm, and was a former owner of the Red Bird Motel in Danville. During his lifetime, Mr. Ladd devoted much of his time to promote the county, and especially in helping the sick and the needy.

Mrs. Eulerle Ladd, aged 83, of Briggsville, died Saturday. She was the widow of William M. Ladd and was a member of the Briggsville United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Bessie Ladd, age 73, of St. Louis, formerly of Danville, died Monday in a St. Louis hospital. She was a Methodist and had resided in Yell County many years before moving to St. Louis.

Mr. James Ladd Jr. aged 83, died March 30, 2003 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tenn. He was born in Plainview, AR, the son of the late James William Ladd Sr. and Laura Eubanks Ladd. He made his home in Brentwood for the last three years, previously from Dardanelle, AR, and Plainview, AR. He was a self-employed furniture dealer and owner of Ladd's Furniture in Dardanelle, AR, since 1955. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lazenby Ladd; brother, Virgil Ladd; sisters, Minnie Breashears, Thelma Elkins, Jessie Briscoe; grandson, Ladd Freeman and recently deceased sister, Gola May Eaton.

He is survived by daughter, Carolyn Freeman and her husband, Galen of Brentwood, Tenn.; sisters, Bonnie Storment and Pauline Dawson of Plainview, AR and grandchild Heather Shea Freeman of Franklin, Tn.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Plainview by Elder McKenley. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery at Plainview by Cornwell Funeral Service. Ladd, Jap

Longtime Poultry Business Leader Jap Ladd Dies At Age 80 Ms. Jap Ladd, age 80, a pioneer of the poultry industry in Yell County, died Saturday, December 26, 1992. She was the only child of former Yell County Sheriff Earl E. Ladd and Edith Castleberry Ladd. During the mid to late 1940's she helped to organize and to manage a company that through the years grew from a feed store and a small group of growers to become a complete, integrated poultry company, which in later years was sold to a major company, that is widely known today as Wayne Poultry of Danville. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one aunt, Anna Castleberry Sullivan and a number of first cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 28, 1992 at 2:00 p. m. at the Danville United Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Glover and Reverend Mike Morey officiating. Burial was in the Earl E. Ladd Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers were cousins. Honorary pallbearers were A. C. Mowery, Fay Mathis, Leon Millsap, Dr. Walter P. Harris, Dr. David Williams, Jack Wilson, Bill Bob Wood, Roy Asbill and Bob Martin. Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Pearl A. Whitlow Ladd, age 82, of Plainview died Saturday, June 12, at County Hospital in Danville. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Rover. She was the widow of Tommy Ladd.

Survivors include a half-brother, Clarence Whitlow of Plainview, and several nephews and nieces.

Ladd, Willa Jean

Willa Jean Ladd died January 13, 2009 in Piggott, Arkansas, at the age of 78. She was born to Luther Logan Ladd and Willie Mab Page Ladd on November 25, 1930 in Corinth Community, Yell County, Arkansas; and was one of eight children. She moved to Campbell, Missouri at the age of five where she continued to live until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Lloyd Lee Ladd, Mary Dell Ladd Schmidt, Ellen Marie Ladd Russom, Logan Page Ladd, Billy Joe Ladd and Larry Luther Ladd. In addition, one son, David Kenneth Caldwell, preceded her.

She is survived by a son, Allen Ray Caldwell of DeSoto, Missouri; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; fifteen nieces and nephews; and a sister, Pauline Evelyn Ladd Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Luther Ladd (Willie Mab Page), age 86 of Tulsa, OK died in a Tulsa hospital September 26 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband, Luther; four sons, Lloyd of Fort Smith, Buddy and Billy Joe of Tulsa and Larry of Broken Arrow, OK; three daughters, Pauline of Tulsa, Mary Dell of Muskogee, OK and Willa Jean of Campbell, MO; four sisters, Mrs. Mayme Pool of Danville, Mrs. Wave Phillips of Dumas, Mrs. Hazel Anticounie and Mrs. Anna Lou Hansen of CA; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Lakin, James Franklin

James Franklin Lakin, age 65 of Bigelow, formerly of Dardanelle, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born April 26, 1945 at Booneville to the late David and Annie Mae Hart Lakin. He was a welder and loved to hunt.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dan Lakin.

Survivors include his wife, Cherie Lakin of Bigelow; sons, Jarrod Lakin and wife Cherie of California, Josh Lakin of Little Rock and Joey Lakin and wife La Tonya of Gravette; daughter, Amber Rose Spencer and husband Paul of California; sisters, Evelyn Millard of Dardanelle and Mary Callison and husband Junior of California; grandchildren, Wyatt and Logan Lakin and Ashley and Travis Spencer all of California and many nieces and nephews. Claud "Shorty" Clayton Lamb, age 79 of Havana, died Thursday, October 14, at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Story and the son of the late Ruben and Elizabeth Stewart Lamb. He was a retired Forest Service employee.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elvia Smith Lamb; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Self of Belleville and Mrs. Claudie Owens of Sand Springs, OK; one brother, Floyd Lamb of CA; two sisters, Mrs. Olar Reed of CA, and Mrs. Lura Qualls of Story and five grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 16, in the Havana Cemetery at Havana with the Rev. V.W. Simpson and Rev. Hulen Wiser officiating.
