Moore, Eunice Maye Hames

Mrs. Eunice Maye Hames Moore, age 86, of Dardanelle died Sunday, July 5, at Dardanelle Hospital. She was the widow of Morris Moore, daughter of the late Thomas and Laura Hames, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Morris Moore, Jr. of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn McGee of Dardanelle; a sister, Mrs. Allie Tilman of Missouri; two grandchildren, Gary Morris Moore of Dardanelle and Kerry George Moore of Russellville; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at Cornwell Chapel by the Rev. Tony Berry. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Active pallbearers were Dana Merritt, E. E. McGee, John P. Moore, Floyd

Floyd Moore, 75 of Dardanelle, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at his home. He was born May 25, 1933 at Dardanelle to the late Roy J. Moore, Sr. and Johnnie Edwards.

He is preceded in death by a son, George Mosley; five brothers, Iris Kellybrew, James Moore, Ruben Moore, Roy Moore, Jr. and Earnest Moore; a sister, Loyce Waldon.

Survivors include his children, Auroya Muhammad of CA, Phyllis Moore of LA, Floyd Moore, Jr., Rhonette Morris, Traci Gilmore, Charles Gilmore, Luther Gilmore and Loren Gilmore all of Omaha, NB; twenty-four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were Friday, May 29, 2009 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle, with Charles Kellybrew officiating. Burial was in Nebo Cemetery, Dardanelle. Moore, Gary Morris

Gary Morris Moore, 58, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville. He was born August 28, 1946, to Morris R. Jr. and Mary Frances George Moore. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, and member and past president of Dardanelle Rotary Club. In 1992, he received the Public Official Award presented by Counseling Associates. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, past baseball commissioner for the City of Dardanelle, pee-wee football coach for six years and was named 1998 Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. He was a graduate of Command and Staff College retiring as a major after 24 years in the Army National Guard. He served as Yell County Judge from 1991 to 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Morris and Maye Moore; Jess and Anna Mae George; and an uncle, Jim Ed McGee.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Teddi Ann Moore; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Morris and Angela Moore of Dardanelle and David James and Diana Moore of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Kerry George and Debbie Moore of Dover; an aunt, Carolyn McGee of Dardanelle; a niece, Marika Ann Moore of Dover; a nephew, Nash Moore of Dover; his favorite dog, Lady; and many more relatives.

Funeral was held on October 1, 2004 at Cornwell Chapel with Rev. Milton Cowling and the Rev. Bob Parsley officiating. Burial was held in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Moore, Helen Angeline

Helen Angeline Moore, 77, of Richmond, TX, formerly of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Polly Ryon Hospital at Richmond, TX. She was born June 6, 1926 at Holla Bend in Pope Co. to the late Sidney A. and Nora Luella Nordin Whorton. She was a mother and a member of the Dardanelle Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker for many years also going to work for St. Marys where she retired after 11 years as a nurse.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jepsi Low Ruffus Whorton, Howard Elmoore Whorton, and Bill Harrison Whorton; three sisters, Arlena May Whorton, Earmer Armela Miller, and Emma Lorene Butler.

She is survived by two sons, Earl Wayne Croy of Rapid City, South Dakota, Ray Allen Croy of Dardanelle; one daughter, Linda Carol Arnold of Richmond, TX; one brother, Sidney Orvel Whorton of Vallejo, CA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services were May 30, 2004 at the Dardanelle Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McElmurry officiating. Interment was the East Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald P. Earnest, Donald P. Helen Irene Moore, age 80, of Russellville, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at her residence. She was born January 24, 1923 at Hector, AR to the late John and Minnie Hughes Curtis. She was a wife and a mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Moore and one son, Jerry Moore.

Survivors are 2 sons, Jim Moore of Redlands, CA, Mike Moore of Russellville; 5 daughters, Eva Lucas and Ellen Armstrong, both of Russellville, Patricia Krall of Tigard, OR, Marylin Foster and Cynthia Moore, both of Redlands, CA; 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Moore, Hershell E. W.

Hershell E. W. Moore, age 64 of Belleville died Friday, January 13, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Born November 17, 1941 in Belleville, he was the son of the late Dewey SR. and Grace Yandell Moore. He was a graduate of the Arkansas School for the Blind at Little Rock and Texas Tech University and was an Assembly of God Minister.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Grady Jackie Moore and Herman E. "Red" Moore.

Survivors include two brothers, Herbert E. Moore of Bothel, WA; Dewey Moore, Jr. of Little Rock; two sisters, Louise Davis of Marietta, GA; Carrie Carter of Bakersfield, CA; and several nephews and nieces.

Services were held Tuesday, January 17, 2005 at Cornwell Chapel in Danville. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Dardanelle by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Hubert R. Moore, 73, of Van Buren, formerly of Danville, died Friday, March 18, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a minister, a member of Old Time Country Church and worked for the Federation of the Blind through the Fort Smith Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; four daughters, Dana Melton, Cathy Huddleston, both of Mulberry, Vonda Henderson of Muskogee, OK and Teresa Moore of Thousand Oaks, CA; one son, David Kirby of Van Buren; two sisters, Goldie Rainwater of Palmdale, CA and Opal Boston of Fort Smith; two brothers, Alvis Moore of Kensett and J.D. Ila Marie Moore, age 80, of Ola, AR died Sunday, March 2, 1997 at Rudy, AR. She was born in Havana, AR January 23, 1917, daughter of the late Robert Burns and Sarah Amelia Venable Bell. She was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and was a member of the Havana Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include five sons, Roy Moore of Ola, Robert Moore of Van Buren, James Moore of Thacther, AZ, Donald Moore of Seguin, TX and Joe Moore of Rudy, AR; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Moore, Judith Elaine

Judith Elaine Moore, age 68, of Waldron, AR passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 in a Waldron hospital. She was born June 6, 1939. Judy and Lee were married on July 5, 1958 and lived in Elkton, Maryland before moving to Harvey, AR in 1982. She was a homemaker and a wonderful fearing mother. She loved children, crocheting, and needlepoint, reading, flowers, and gardening, and being surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was a wise woman with a strong heart and unfailing character.

She was preceded in death by her father George T. Landon, step-father Harold Frizzell of Waldron and baby brother Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Frank Lee Moore; mother, Amanda Frizzell; her brother, Kennith Landon of Delaware; five children David & Becky Moore, Cassie & Billy Zimmer, Christine & Jeremy Bott, Carrie & Chris Tucker, Vickie & Wesley Horn; 13 grandchildren, and many friends and other relatives.

Keith Millard Moore, age 73, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, February 29, 2008 at River Valley Medical Center. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and his dog, Ginger, very much. He was born July 14, 1934 at Carden Bottoms to the late Eurby and Johnny Mae Maxie Moore. He was a member of the Dardanelle City Council, DAV of America, Masons, Shriner Scottish Rites, Lions Club, Eastern Star, Dardanelle First United Methodist Church and served on the School Board for 15 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Keith Allen Moore and Dennis Lee Jones; brother, Dick, Peck and J. E. Moore and sisters, Opal Fisher, Johnny Nell Smith and Ruby Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Henry Moore of Dardanelle, AR; children and spouses, Michelle and Charles Gordon of Dardanelle, AR, Melanie and Jimmy Paulman, Scott Moore, all of Russellville, Kristen and Aaron Hoffman of Dardanelle; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, William Eurby Moore of Pottsville, AR and Scotty Moore of Dardanelle; a sister, Ora Faye Tousky of Dardanelle and several nieces and nephews.

Moore, Kenneth

Kenneth Moore, 85, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away on August 18, 2013. Ken was born in Danville, AR and later resided in California, and Cleveland, OH before moving to AZ where he retired and continued to serve his community. He was a man of many achievements and honors during his lifetime. Ken was a husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Marily Hill (Richard), stepdaughter,Anita Hornlein (Robert), two stepsons, Russell Brabant and Larry Maddox as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchilcren and six great-great-grandchildren, many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Leon A. "Babe" Moore, age 85, of Skiatook, Oklahoma died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Skiatook Nursing Home. He was born December 4, 1919 in Stratford, OK to the late Royce and Rose Taylor Moore. He was a WWII Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Pledger Moore; two infant sons; sister, Lucy Burrows and brothers, Luther and Lando Moore.

Mrs. Lettie Marie Bowden Moore, age 73, of Atkins died Thursday, December 20, 1984 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a native of Dardanelle widow of George Moore, daughter of the late Sparlin and Euna Wringer Bowden, and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers Bob Bowden of Fort Collins Colo., William Bowden of Russellville and Arthur Bowden of Atkins; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Lona Sladyen of England, and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Lucy Mae Moore, age 84, a resident of DeQueen, AR died Thursday, December 23, 1999 in the DeQueen Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1915 in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harbon Moore.

She is survived by, four sons, Troy Moore of Ozark, AR, James Roy Moore of Ola, AR, John E. Moore of Clarksville, AR and Paul H. Moore of Colorado; six daughters, Ester Louise Moore of Subiaco, AR, Gertrude Angeline Gist of Ola, AR, Isabella Castile Jaquez of Phoenix, AR, Mattie Mae Heflin of Woodson, TX, Elizabeth Anne Reynold of Lake Isabella, CA and Juanita H. White of DeQueen, AR sixty-nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Lula Mae Stokes Moore, age 79, of Waveland, AR died Saturday, April 11, 1998 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 17, 1918 in Yell County, AR to the late Earl Herbert and Lillie Frame Weatherall. She was the retired owner of Marilou's Bait Shop in Waveland, retired nurses aide and a member of the Moore's Chapel Community Church.

She was preceded in death by; her husbands, Clark Allen "Bill" Stokes and James Ira Moore; a brother, Voyne Earl Weatherall and a grandson, Shannon Stokes.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Kathy Stokes of Waveland, Jim and Patricia Stokes of Franklin, TN, a sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Glendon James of Waveland; a sister-in-law, Mary Weatherall of Danville; five grandchildren, Stacey Archer and Teresa Judkins both of Ft. Smith, AR, Brian and Jeff Stokes both of Franklin, TN, Ricky Hodges of Dardanelle, AR and a great grandson, James Tucker Stokes of Franklin, TN.

Margie L. Moore, age 79 of Skiatook, Oklahoma, died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center. She was born June 3, 1923, in Sugar Grove, Arkansas to the late Jesse and Minnie Tishia Vessell Pledger. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rogers County Home Extension in Claremore, OK.

She was preceded in death by two infant sons.

Survivors include her husband, Leon A. "Babe" Moore of Skiatook, OK; a son, Roger Moore of Sapulpa, OK; a daughter, Mary Dobbs of Skiatook, OK; sisters, Florence Davis of Ft. Smith, AR; Joyce Sebastian of Owalla, OK; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nephews and nieces.

Funeral service was Monday, June 24, 2002, at the Havana Assembly of God Church with her son-in-law, Jerry Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Havana Cemetery. Marie Moore, age 90, of Dardanelle, AR, died Monday, June 5, 2006 at home. A daughter of the late Samuel Rufus and Emma Louvisa Lawson Buchanan, she was born March 27, 1916 in Obion, TN. She was the widow of Floyd Anderson Moore, was a past Pope County Mother of the Year and was a member of Pottsville Assembly of God. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, John F. Moore; a granddaughter, Anna Poplin; a grandson, Jonathon Tilley; three brothers: Ellis, Edward and Billie Buchanan; and a sister, Mary Ruth Warden.

Survivors include three sons James Moore of Chickalah Carroll Moore of Concord, NC and Bill Moore of Pottsville four daughters: Emma Lou Wedge of Grand Cane, LA; Ruth Bland of Dardanelle; Janice Garner of Edgewood, TX; and Wanda Hixson of Dardanelle; a sister, Betty Sue Curtis of Waverly, TN; thirty grandchildren, fifty-nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral service will be at 10 A. M. on Thursday at the Pottsville Assembly of God, with the Rev. Mike McNeely and the Rev. Robert Holland officiating. Burial will be in North New Hope Cemetery near Dover, by Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons: James Wesley Moore, Eddie Tilley, Floyd Moore, Billy Garner, James Ray Moore and Bobby Joe Moore. She was born in Dardanelle, AR on April 7, 1924 to the late Jess and Anna Mae Wardlow George. She was the widow of Brigadier General Morris R. Moore, Jr. She was a mother, homemaker, a member of the Baring Cross Baptist Church in No. Little Rock, and a past member of the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy George.

Survivors include two sons; former Yell County Judge, Gary; Morris Moore and his wife Teddi Ann Moore of Dardanelle, AR Kerry George Moore and his wife, Debbie Moore of Dover, AR; four grandchildren, John Morris Moore and his wife, Angela Moore of Dardanelle, AR, David James Moore of Dardanelle, Jordan Nash Moore and Marika Ann Moore both of Dover; sister-in-law, Carolyn McGee of Dardanelle, AR; four nephews, Jimmy Lee George, Ken George, Jess David George and Steve George.
