Jordan, Bill

Bill Jordan, age 80, of Malvern, AR passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born July 22, 1923 in Malvern to Samuel and Maude Evelyn (Bailey) Jordan. He was a retired Electrical Cellman at Reyholds Metals Company and served in the Army Air Force during WWII and the Korean War as a CBI in the Asian Pacific. He loved fishing and hunting and was an avid baseball and football fan. He was a Deacon at Gilead Baptist Church and was also a Sunday School teacher and trustee.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Blanche (Keys) Jordan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Duke and Cynthia and Billy Bosley both of Friendship; one son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Lesa Jordan of Prattsville; one sister, Mary Ann Hill of Malvern; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Jordan; a daughter, Tanyea Renea Jordan and a grandson, Joseph Duke.

Funeral service was April 11 at the Regency Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Walter Yarbrough and Milton George officiating. Burial was in the Harp Cemetery. Jordan, Blanche (Keys)

Blanche Keys Jordan, 83, passed April 24, 2017. Born in Briggsville, AR on September 28, 1933, to Monroe and Cora Spears Keys. She was predeceased by her siblings Richard, Ike, Sterling Keys, Oma George, Dealy Corder and Tressie Hawkins. She was predeceased by her husband, Billy Jordan, whom she married in 1953, infant daughter, Tanya Ranea.

She is survived by one son, Victor Jordan, and two daughters, Linda Duke Burris, and Cindy Siratt all of Malvern.

Visitation was April 26 from 6-8 pm at Regency Funeral Home and services was held April 27 2 pm in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Harp Cemetery. WILLIAM THOMAS JORDAN Graveside services for William Thomas "Tommy" Jordan, 89, of Woodlake, will be held at 10 a. m. today at Miller Memorial Woodlake Chapel.

Mr. Jordan, employed in sales for Boas Minnow Farm for eight years before retiring, died Sunday.

Sam Joseph, 53, of Shreveport, La died on April 19, 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannette; three sons, Jason, Douglas and Warren; and two daughters, Janet and Laura, all of Shreveport; his mother, Pearl King of Little Rock; three sisters, Viva Shipley of Little Rock, Letha Hoggard of Memphis, TN and Mary Ellen King of Little Rock.

Howard J. Joy, age 66, of Heber Springs, father of Gary D. Joy of Ola and May J. Lovell of Danville, died Tuesday, February 24, 1987.

Survivors also include his wife, Mrs. Virgie M. Joy; five other sons, two other daughters, three sisters, five half-brothers, 37 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Judd, Truman

Truman Judd, age 70, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 15, 1934, the son of Harvey and Berthe Bullock Judd in Asphalt, KY. He was an Army Veteran, a plumber and a member of the Centerville Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Alvie, Elmer, Dallas, Howard and Leslie Judd and one sister, Aline Guilliam.

Survivors include his wife, Mayrene Judd of Dardanelle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Nora Judd of Dardanelle, Steve and Lynn Judd of Olivehurst, CA and Ralph and Frances Judd of Tampa, FL; one sister, Chlorine McEntire of Hector; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was August 23, 2004 at the Centerville Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle by Humphrey Funeral Service. Judkins, Burl Doylus

Burl Doylus Judkins, 96, a resident of Dardanelle died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born March 20, 1910 in Atkins, Arkansas to John Lewis Judkins and Dora Boudra Judkins. He spent his early years in Bells Chapel Community in Pope County. He was a farmer for over 50 years in the Dardanelle area. In 1957, their family was chosen as Yell County Farm Family of the Year. He raised cattle and was a longtime member of the Yell County Cattleman's Association and the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle.

He is preceded in death by a younger brother, Earl Loylus; his mother and father; his wife, Minnie Lee Carrigan Judkins and his step-mother, Lona Judkins Hill. His survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dora and Doyle Gunter of Russellville, Betty and Jim Coffey of Dardanelle; son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Judkins of Dardanelle; four grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly Davenport of Fort Smith, Buddy and Jeanene Gunter of Erie, PA, Johnny and Kim Judkins of Dardanelle, Andrew and Brandi Judkins of Fayetteville; six great-grandchildren, Rachel Davenport, Ben and Liam Gunter, Macey and Gaige Judkins and Fuller Judkins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, 2006, 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Roger Glover officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, Dardanelle, Arkansas 72834. DARDANELLE - Johnny L. "Flea" Judkins, 58, of Dardanelle died Monday, August 25, (2003) at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. Born November 13, 1944, in Carden Bottoms, he was the son of the late Radis and Viola Hancock Judkins, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Boyce-Woods Post 3141 of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Piney Fork Church of Christ. He retired after 25 years with the Arkansas National Guard and after 34 years as a supervisor for ConAgra Foods.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Ray Judkins, Loyd Judkins and Bruce Judkins; a sister, Barbara Warren; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Judkins.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Shirley McConnell Judkins; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lance Judkins of Russellville, and Scott and Michelle Judkins of Henderson, Ky.; a brother, Gary Don Judkins of Dover; a sister, Margarette McGee of Washington; a half-brother, Frank Judkins of Oklahoma; three half-sisters, Jewell Boyce of Dardanelle, Grace Campbell of Missouri and Millie Phelps of California; and five grandchildren.

Wanda Faye Standridge Judkins, age 61, a resident of Dover, AR, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at her home in Dover. She was born on October 9, 1941 in Lamar, AR to Charles Washington and Lura Mae (Owens) Standridge. She married Gary Don Judkins on September 2, 1977 in Dover. She was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping and collecting Angels and loved her "grandbabies" She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of Dover.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother, Clinton Ray Standridge, brothers, Herbert and Donald "Pete" Standridge and a sister, Ruth Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Judkins of Dover, AR; six children, Tim & Vicki Mayhew of Dover, Thomas Tina Mayhew of West Fork, AR, Tereasa Warnick & John Hopson of Dover, AR, Jeffrey Teresa Judkins of Ft. Kaden, John C.

John C. Kaden, age 96 of Dardanelle, formerly of Berryville, Arkansas died Wednesday at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born October 27, 1906 in Hannibal, Missouri; he was the son of the late George P. and Anna M. Ruhl Kaden. He was a cattle and crop farmer and had worked for the Farmall Tractor Company. He was a member of the Berryville First Christian Church, which he joined at age 13.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Darlene Kaden, and Lula M. Sandidge Jennings Kaden, who he married in Dardanelle on June 15, 1946; a son, Robert Kaden; daughters, Barbara Kaden Hensley and Marlene Kaden; sisters, Lula Reed and Daisy Hill; a grandson and 3 great grandchildren.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" W. and Ethel Kaden, and Charles W. Kaden, all of Springfield, MO; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bobby Callan of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Tommy and Mary, Deborah, and Carol Hensley all of Galesburg, IL, Charles, Christopher, Crystal, and Barbara Kaden, all of Illinois; step-grandchildren and spouses, Dana and Ray Edwards of Dardanelle and Lloyd and Cyndia Callan of Pottsville; 8 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and 1 step-grandchild.

Sandidge, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Bass and Mrs. J. W. Clifton; a step-son, Tommy Kaden; two step-daughters, Marilyn Kaden and Barbara Hensley.

Kampen, Evert Van

Evert Van Kampen was born August 30, 1912 at Sully, Iowa to Evert and Nellie Van Kampen of Sully. He passed away January 16, 1997 at the Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He farmed in the Sully, Iowa and New Sharon, Iowa area for a number of years. He was a salesman for the Harper Brush Company of Fairfield, IA for over forty years. He lived in California for approximately ten years, then moved to Arkansas in the late 1980s. In 1991 he was married to Clara Smith. They continued to live in Arkansas until Evert passed away. While living in Arkansas Evert continued his occupation as salesman for the Harper Brush Company. He enjoyed the rural life and loved raising a large garden. He wanted to work and found it very difficult to accept his failing health and inability to work in the last few months. Evert and Clara attended the Assembly of God Church in Havana, AR when their health allowed them to.

He had five children Helen Louise, Frederick Evert, Donald Eugene, Ivan Dewayne and Iva Mae. Helen and Ivan preceded him in death. Frederick lives in Marcola, OR, Donald at Montezuma, IA and Iva Mae at Bussey, IA. He has nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 20th at the Assembly of God Church in Havana, AR. He was laid to rest at the Union Hill Cemetery, Union Hill, AR. His wife Clara is still living at their home in Havana, AR. Services by Cornwell Funeral Service of Danville, AR. Kane, Joseph Kahalau "Dusty"

Joseph Kahalau "Dusty" Kane III, age 47, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, November 13. 1999. He was born December 19, 1951 in Topeka, KS to the late Joseph Kahalau Kane. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a nuclear pipefitter.

Survivors are, his wife, Karen Witt Kane; two sons, Dustin Kane and Christopher Kane both of Dardanelle, AR; three daughters, Robin Christner of Abhene, KS, Jennifer Buchman of Council Grove, KS and Kyla Kane of Dardanelle, AR; his mother, Lola Kane of Apple Valley, CA; five brothers, Darrell Kane of Hawaii, Doug Kane of California, Arron Kane of Texas, Kevin and David Kane both of Kansas; six sisters, Karen Fritzer of Colorado, Denise Lewis and Darlinda Bishop both of California, Kandy Cape of Texas, Diane Smith and Alice Taylor both of Kansas; and two children, Evan and Natalie Christner both of Council Grove, KS.

Service will be Thursday, November 18 at 10 a. m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle, AR with Rev. James Lowe and Rev. Tom Underhill officiating. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR. Karas, Karen Diane

Karen Diane Karas age 56 of Belleville died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at her home. She was born March 16, 1950 at Austin, Minnesota to the late George and Wilma Bell. She was employed by Wal-Mart in Dardanelle as a Shoe Department Manager.

Survivors include her husband, Al Karas of Belleville; brother, Kenny Bell of Austin, Minnesota.

Graveside services were held Saturday at 2 p. m. at Mountain Springs Cemetery on Chickalah Mountain with Rev. Bert Herzog officiating. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Karnes, Jenifer Nicole

Jenifer Nicole Karnes, age 17, of Havana, AR died Monday, November 4, 2002 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, AR. She was born in Fort Smith, AR on September 27, 1985. She had been a resident at Brownwood Life Center in Fort Smith for the past 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Stermon Karnes.

She is survived by her parents, John David and Penny Ann Taylor Karnes; a brother, Curtis Taylor of Havana, AR; her grandparents, Peggy Karnes of Fort Smith, AR, Ollie and Ed Lund, Carl and Joanne Taylor and her great grandmother, Lucille Taylor all of Havana, AR; three uncles and wives, Steve and Pam Karnes of Natural Dam, AR, Randy and Lois Karnes of Tulsa, OK and Paul Karnes of Ft. Smith; a great uncle, Johnny Riddle of Clovis, CA; three aunts and husbands, Donna Taylor of Texarkana, AR, Patricia and Kevin Schneider of Havana and Diane Toussaint of Gore, OK and cousins, Michael and Daniel Karnes, Travis and Sam Karnes, Ike Dekam, Paul Mars, James and Christine Schneider and Jon and Julie Schneider.

Karnes, Mildred Iris Tapp

Mildred Iris Tapp Karnes, age 86, of Havana, AR died Saturday at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born July 27, 1918 in Havana, AR to the late Millard F. and Mollie Davis Tapp. She was a retired poultry and cattle farmer, a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Millard F. "Pete" Tapp.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Sid Karnes; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Karnes of Pittsburgh, TX; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Grace Tapp of Del City, OK, Gene and Johnnie Tapp of Russellville, AR, Bill and Oda Tapp and Loyce and Betty Tapp all of Havana; two sisters, Joyce Adair of Havana, AR and Pat and Martin Feeny of Benton, AR; a sister-in-law, Faye Tapp of Havana, AR; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Service was Tuesday at the Havana Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Storts and Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Interment was in Moore's Chapel Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Karnes, Sidney Jay Sid

Sidney Jay Karnes of Havana, Arkansas died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Mitchells Nursing Home in, Danville. He was born August 18, 1914 in Dover, AR to the late William A. and Margaret "Maggie" Williams Karnes. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of Havana First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon since 1954. He was a retired poultry grader and farmer, and in his active years was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved the beauty of Gods nature.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Tapp Karnes; his parents; fifteen siblings, Lee Alan, Claude, Cleo, Gus, Joe, Welzie, Ruth, Pauline, Mildred, Alice, Woodrow, Monroe, Opal, Lorraine and an infant baby boy.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Karnes of Pittsburg, TX; three grandchildren, Cheryl Thrasher and husband, Russell of Paris, TX. Jay Karnes and wife, Bobbie Jo, of Pittsburg, TX and Brian Karnes of Temple, TX; six great-grandchildren; sister, Esther parks of Dover, AR; brother, Lester Karnes of MI and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, James and Gracie Tapp, Gene and Johnnie Tapp, Bill and Oda Tapp, Joyce Adair, Loyce and Betty Tapp, Faye Tapp, and Patricia and Martin Feeny; many nieces, nephews, his church family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00 p. m. at Havana First Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Smith and Bro. Bill Storts officiating. Karnes, Sidney Jerry

Sidney Jerry Karnes, age 65 of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Overton-Brooks VA Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, following a lengthy illness. Jerry was born August 19, 1945, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Sid and Mildred Tapp Karnes. He married Barbara Tougaw Karnes on July 4, 1967, in Havana, Arkansas. He was a US Navy veteran and was serving aboard the USS Pueblo when it was captured by North Korea in 1968 and was a POW for almost a year. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart medal, Navy Commendation medal, POW medal, and Navy good conduct awards. He retired from the USDA grading services in 2005. His hobbies included woodworking, yard work, and household repair projects. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas.

Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Barbara Karnes, of Pittsburg, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Russell Thrasher of Paris, Texas, and sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Bobbie Jo Karnes of Pittsburg, Texas, and Brian and Julie Karnes of Temple, Texas; 9 grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, and Alison Thrasher of Paris, Texas, Tyler, Braden, and Sean Karnes of Pittsburg, Texas, and Madison and Preston Pratt and Landon Karnes of Temple, Texas. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Pearl Tougaw of Havana, Arkansas, brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services were Sunday, May 29, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Havana, Arkansas. Interment was at Moore's Chapel Cemetery with military honors. Officiating were Bro. Larry Rice of Pittsburg, Texas, and Bro. Jeff Smith, aka "Bro. Gus" of Havana, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Larry Clemons, Eugene Tapp, William Tapp, Jr., Dale Tougaw, Ron Tougaw, Dennis Tougaw, Hoover Willard, and Jonathan Willard. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. Kassaw, Calvin "Cal"

Calvin "Cal" Kassaw, 61, of Dardanelle, AR, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his home in Dardanelle, AR. The son of Calvin and Rosemary Kassaw, he was born June 7, 1951 in Hot Springs, AR. He was a graduate of San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree. He was married to Norma Jean Kassaw. He was a United States Navy Veteran of VietNam, was awarded the air medal first strike flight award. He was a Process Engineer with Firestone Tube Co. for 22 Years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved singing and playing guitar. Cal also enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Gary Lynn Kassaw. Left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife Norma Kassaw of Dardanelle; two children Gregory Allen Kassaw & wife Heidi of Russellville and Beverly Anne Duhon of Union City, Ca; three step-children Larry Glock & wife Leigh of Bloomington, IL, Bryan Glock & wife Tiffany Ft. Kassaw, Calvin Morris

Calvin Morris Kassaw, Sr. age 70 of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, August 17, 1998 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born June 21, 1928 at Royal to Clarence and Verna Byers Kassaw. He was a retired pipefitter. He repaired stringed musical instruments for Sound Investments and built various instruments including dulcimers, guitars and mandolins. He was emcee for the Spring Mountain Jamboree and a member of Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn Kassaw.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Stiener Kassaw; a son, Calvin Kassaw, Jr. of Dardanelle; a daughter, Sharon Curtis of Dardanelle; two brothers, Elmer Kassaw of Hot Springs, AR and Glenn Kassaw of Royal, AR; a sister, Grace Johnston of Royal, AR; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be today, Wednesday, August 19 at 10 a. m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle by the Rev. Robert Hinsen. Burial will be in Harkey's Valley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Rosemary Louise Kassaw, age 77 of Dardanelle died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Baptist Health Medical Center. She was born October 14, 1930 at Bluffton, OH to the late David G. and Louella Mae Moser Steiner. She retired from Dardanelle Hospital as an LPN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Kassaw, Sr. and an infant child, Gary Lynn Kassaw.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Norma Kassaw, Jr. of Dardanelle; daughter, Sharon Curtis of Dardanelle; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a. m. at Harkeys Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jr. and Brian Curtis, Anthony Wooten, Lanny Wooten, and Gregory Kassaw. Keahey, Rayma Lorene (George)

Rayma Keahey (July 5, 1912 - April 23, 2011) Funeral services for Mrs. Rayma Lorene George Keahey, 98, will be 10 AM Tuesday at the Church of Christ, St. Joe with Harlin Dewayne "Cooter" Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mrs. Keahey was born in Yell County, Arkansas on July 5, 1912; she was the 3rd daughter of Joseph Ed and Irena Hale George. She passed from this life on Saturday morning April 23, 2011 at Franklin Medical Center. December 16, 1933 she was married to Jack Lynn Keahey of Lincoln County, Arkansas in Saint Joseph, to this union two sons were born Jack Lynn Keahey Jr. and Boyd Farrel Keahey.

All of the above preceded her in death including two sisters.

Survivors include her grandchildren Cush Keahey or Dallas, Texas, Drew Keahey of Columbia, Britt Keahey of Saint Joseph, Kelley Keahey Cummings of Monroe and Margo Keahey of Gallatin, TN; great grandchildren Jared and Jillian Keahey, Zach and Reed Keahey, Brittany and Farrel Keahey, Katherine Keahey Barber and Tabitha Howard; daughters-in- law Marie Keahey of Columbia and Linda Keahey of Saint Joseph; niece Lucille Day Putman of Baton Rouge, also survived by several great nieces and nephew's and many friends. Rayma has been a member of The Church of Christ, for more than 80 years a charter member of the Saint Joseph Congregation; where she taught Ladies and Children's Bible Classes for many years. She was also a member of the Tensas Garden Club and an artist. Pallbearers will be Scott Cummins, John Day, Britt Keahey, Cash Keahey, Drew Keahey, Farrel Keahey, Reed Keahey and Zach Keahey.
