Jones, Maude Rushing

(Oct. 3, 1983) DARDANELLE - Mrs. Maude Rushing Jones, age 94, of Dardanelle died today. She was a native of Camden, daughter of the late Amos and Belle Rushing, and was a Methodist.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Van Novy of Dardanelle, and a grandchild.

Jones, Myrtle Wooten

Mrs. Myrtle Wooten Jones, age 76, of West Covina, Calif. formerly of Dover, died Thursday, April 25, 1985. She was the daughter of the late Green and Louella Maupin Wallace.

Survivors include a son, Carroll Wooten of Route 1, Lamar; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jones of Russellville and Mrs. Mildred Linton of Scottsville; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Jones, Neely F. (Bob)

Neely F. (Bob) Jones, age 81, of Dardanelle died Monday, October 20, 1986 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville. He was a native of Centerville, a retired Uniroyal Employee, W. W. II Veteran, the son of the late Julian and Margaret George Jones.

He is survived by one daughter, Judy Elliot of Dardanelle, one sister, Florence Pierce of Newelton, LA, one brother, Jime Jones of Calif.; 2 grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with the Rev. Tony Berry officiating. Interment was in Mt. George Cemetery. Services were in care of Cornwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Leonard Elliot, Jimmy Chilton, Jimmy Davenport, Jackie Hudlow, Kenny George, and George Riddle. Jones, Nina Ernestine

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Nina Ernestine Jones, age 73, died September 30, 1980 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was the widow of Wayne Jones, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Dacus and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Duane R. Jones, Gardenia; Calif. and Ronald Paul Jones, Russellville;, two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Corbin, Dardanelle, and Mrs. Peggy Jean James, North Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred George, North Little Rock, and Mrs. Arvenel Young, Plainview; and 11 grandchildren.

Noel Jones, 63, a Dardanelle businessman, died June 7 in a Ft. Smith hospital. He was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ and had lived in Dardanelle most of his life.

Jones, Norman Ray

Norman Ray Jones, age 88, of Belleville (Ranger community) passed thru the Pearly Gates of Heaven, Monday, July 9, 2007 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born June 18, 1919 in TX to the late Horace & Corra Jones from Alamogordo, NM. He was a Disabled American Veteran. He proudly served his country as a young, man. He served in the 142nd Inf. 36th Divison in WWII, in Italy, France and Germany. He received the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Dardanelle Lock and Dam. He lived in the Ranger Community where he enjoyed his family and his cattle farm. He and his wife were active in the Ranger Church and Ray served as a Deacon there for many years.

He is preceded in death by his darling wife of 57 years, Lorene Benedict Jones; brothers, Cecil and Deanie Jones and a sister; Pearl Makinson.

Survived by his blessed, loving family, daughters & sons-in-law; Judy & Wayne Underwood of Ranger, Jean & Lee Ratliff of Westcliff, CO, Kathy & Jackie Woodard of Central City, AR and Debbie & Corky McConnell of Ranger; son & daughter-in-law, Norman & Leslie Jones of Ranger; 10 grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Jones and Royce Jones of Alamogordo NM.; three sisters; Leon Russell of Alamogordo NM., Dorothy Benedict of Ola, Ruby Smith of Houston, TX. And special care givers; Brenda Loyd, Jean Ayo, Verna Dixon, Lydia Carter and Robin Burkhart.

Funeral service was held July 12, at the Ranger Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. David William officiating. Burial was at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery, with Military honors by Boyce-Wood VFW Post 3141 Dardanelle. Oragel Jones, age 87 of Harvey, AR, died Thursday, May 3, 2001 at Chambers Memorial; Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Gravelly on February 12, 1914 to the late Sidney Buford and Jessie Elizabeth Pody Jones. He was; a retired farmer, a WWII Army, Veteran and a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Clester, Baxter, Ira, Phinous, Doyle and Opal; three sisters, Velma, Vada and Estelle.

Survivors include, his wife, Louise Carmen King Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Bambi Jones of Gravelly; two grandsons, Jody and Susan Jones of Rover, AR and Ricky Jones of Gravelly, AR; three. great-grandchildren, Trent, Holley and Trever Jones of Rover; one sister, Virlon Jones of Missouri and three sisters-in-law, Emma Jones of Gravelly, Barbara Jones of California and Evelyn Jones of Oklahoma and several nephews and nieces.

Patsie Ruth Harris Jones age 70 of Plainview passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home. She was born October 16, 1943 in Appleton, AR to the late Doyle & Ida Martin Coffman. Hall of Yell County, who preceded him in death. Dr. Jones was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Sidney Buford Jones - Sidney Buford Jones, 73, died at his home in Gravelly April 5, 1954. He was born at South Fourche and his parents moved to Gravelly when he was two months old, where he spent the remainder of his life. He had been a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church for 50 years. He was married to Jessie Poda in 1899.

Thomas Harold Jones, age 58, of Belleville, AR died Monday, February 9, 1998 at his home in Belleville. He was born January 23, 1940 in Nettleton, AR to the late Mathis and Marie Bryant Jones. He was an Army Veteran and an employee of Wayne Poultry in Danville.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Jones, Jr. and Patrick Jones both of Flint, MI; two daughters, Karen Jones of Belleville, AR and Ruth Jones of Flint, MI; seven brothers, Ray Jones of El Cajon, CA, Norman Jones of Murfreesboro, TN, Fred Jones of Flint, MI, Johnny Jones and Joe Strong both of Booneville, AR, Clarence Strong of Plainview, AR, John Strong and Bruce Strong both of St. Louis, MO; five sisters, Billie Bush of Flint, MI, Helen Cockerill and Irene Preston both of Booneville, AR, Imogene Martinez of Salt Lake City, UT and Berniece Ford of TX; also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jones, Thomas Jack

Thomas Jack Jones, age 66 of Dardanelle, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at his home. He was born October 14, 1941 at Paris to the late W. D. and Beatrice Worley Jones. He retired from Dardanelle Public Schools as transportation and maintenance supervisor and he was a retired U. S. Navy Veteran where he served two terms in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kathy Hodges Jones of Dardanelle; son, Bill D. Jones of Sherwood; sister-in-law and husband, Beth and Dr. Terry Green of Mountain Home; brother-in-law, Monroe Hodges of Dardanelle; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 4, 2008 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. Jared Higginbotham officiating. Burial followed at Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle with military honors by Boyce-Woods, Post 3141. Virgie Jones (August 17, 1920 - December 30, 2007) Virgie Jones, 87, of Waldron Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 in a Waldron Nursing Home. Walter Phillip Jones, Sr. age 57, of Danville went to his heavenly home on October 17, 2008, after a lengthy stay in Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Jones, Wanda Loeva

Wanda Loeva Jones was born on April 8, 1930, in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Nola Etta Renfrow and Earl Fowler. She accepted the Lord as a child and served Him with all her heart and soul according to God's Word, the Bible. Wanda was married to William J. R. Jones, on October 6, 1951, and moved to Bakersfield, California in 1952. She had four children by him, one deceased shortly after birth. She graduated from Danville High in Arkansas and earned a two year degree in an accounting program.

Although she worked at numerous jobs over her 28 years of employment, her longest jobs were with Boynton Brothers Tire Service and Withiam's T. V and Appliance Store. Her last church affiliation was with Riverlakes Community Church where she was an active part of their "Prayer's and Squares" Quilting Ministry program and a member of "The Cheerleaders", faithfully attending until she became ill. Her previous church affiliation was with Bakersfield First Church of the Nazarene and Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene here in Bakersfield. She was known by her family and friends as a courageous, very tender hearted, giving and dignified lady who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.

She died peacefully at home under the loving care of Hoffmann Hospice with a few of her family members present at 12:15 a. m. on March 1, 2008, at the age of 77.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy West, and survived by sisters, Jeanell Harris, Erlene Cotton, Hazel Whitaker and Lynnette Pearce; three brothers, Ed, Jim and Bob Fowler, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was survived by her children, Paula Jones, Gary Jones, and Charlotte Borges and five grandchildren.

There was a graveside service Saturday, March 8, at 11:00 a. m. performed by Pastor Milt Cole. June 29, 1928 - November 23, 2012 Waylon Jones, 84, of Roland, OK, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, in Roland. He was born June 29, 1928 in Gravelly, AR to the late James Henry Jones and Sarah Emma Blaylock Jones. He was retired Sales Manager for Wards Ice Cream and owner/operator Jonesy's Shaved Ice for 17 years. He was a member of the Roland Lions Club, American Legion Post #339 in Roland, Roland City Council for many years, Roland School Board for 25 years and the Roland Booster Club. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was known as the Woodman at Roland.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Stanley Warren.

Jones, Wylie Gerald

Wylie Gerald Jones, age 75, of Delaware died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1939 at Brawley, California to the late Wylie Raymond Jones and Ruth Alice Brown. He was a former member of the California National Guard and was pastor of the Delaware First Baptist Church for 25 years. Wylie loved to play the guitar and spend time with his family and church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
