Verna Steward, age 95, of Booneville, AR died April 24, 2001 in Booneville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Booneville, the Order of Eastern Star, the Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers Association and the Booneville Garden Club.

She is survived by one Sister, Nelle Hallum of North Little Rock, AR.

Funeral service was April 26, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Booneville with burial at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, AR under the direction of Roller Funeral Home, Booneville, AR. Steward, Viola May

Viola May Steward, age 73, of Casa, died December 4, 2004. She was born July 29, 1931 in Perry County to the late Tommy and Ollie Nichols Wyles. She was a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Steward and a sister, Lillie Scroggins.

Survivors are four sons, Billy Steward, John Steward and Jimmy Steward all of Casa, James Steward of Hot Springs; five daughters, Betty Scott of Morrilton, Bonnie Isaacs and Johnnie Hendron both of Russellville, Barbara Tillman of Mississippi and Kathy Luster of Casa; one brother, Clyde Wyles of Jessieville; two sisters, Alma Scott of Hot Springs and Faye Presnull of Clinton and 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Stewart, Aline

Aline Stewart, 82, of El Dorado, AR, died Thursday, October 23, 2008. She was born April 18, 1926 in Mansfield, AR. She was the daughter of Fred and Ada Owens Clopton.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Charlie V Stewart and five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Clopton of Dover, Willis Stewart of Alvarado, TX, Bill Stewart of El Dorado, Donald Stewart of Madill, OK, and John Stewart of Joshua, TX; two daughters, Donnia Estes of Katy, TX and Alice Dordon of Lucedale, MS; three sisters, Bestine Stafford of Arcoma, OK, Connie Morgan of Kansas City, MO and Marie Smith of Hot Springs; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Stewart, Archie

ROVER - Archie Stewart, aged 47, of Rover (Yell County) died Friday. He was mechanic for Layton Hudspeth Company. (8-17-1984)

Survivors are his wife, Lula Blankenship Stewart; two brothers, William Stewart of Houston, Tex. and Harold Stewart of McCleary, Wash. and four sisters, Regina Griffin, Laura Wiley, Pauline Loving and Juanita Nickleson, all of Pasadena, Tex.

Stewart, Hazel P. Shepherd

Hazel P. Shepherd Stewart, age 89, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born January 26, 1915 at Dardanelle to the late Charles Thomas and Lula Rebecca Davis Shepherd. She was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret Frances Stewart, a brother, G. T. Shepherd; three sisters, Margaret R. Etkleberry, Nina J. McGuire, Bobbye Jo Halbrook.

Survivors are her husband of 66 years, Roy T. Stewart of Russellville; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Pamela M. Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Mollie Marie Bachman of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Thomas M. Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO, Tammy L. Stewart O Brien of San Antonio, TX, Seann P. Stewart, Jack

T-Sgt. Jack Stewart- Final rites were held last week for Marine TSgt. Jack Stewart, 30, at Bellflower, Calif. He was killed in a traffic crash near the Barstow Marine Base where was stationed.

In addition to his wife, Doria Russell Stewart, he is survived by five brothers, Kenneth of Bellflower, Wayne of Saugus, John of Oklahoma City, George and James of Durant, Okla. and two sisters, Mrs. Nell Merin of Stockton and Molly Stewart of New Mexico.

Just a month ago Joe Stewart, father of T-Sgt. was killed in an accident in the Oklahoma oil fields. T-Sgt. Stewart was a veteran of 14 years in the Marine Corps. He served in World War II and spent a year in a hospital recovering from wounds and was wounded again in Korea in 1952. Mrs. Joe Stewart, age 78, of Danville, AR, died Monday, January 6, 1997 at her residence. She was born in Evant, TX January 7, 1918, daughter of the late, Joseph and Ruth Flach Sneed. She was a Yell County business woman and owner of Danville Tractor and Supply.

Lloyd Cecil Stewart, age 69, of Story, AR died Thursday, May 27, 1999 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. He was born July 1, 1929 in Story, AR to the late Lonnie Stewart. He was a Korean Conflict Air Force Veteran, a retired electronic technician for the U. S. Government and a member of the Story Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Garrison.

Lonnie Ray "Tinker" Stewart, age 86 of Dardanelle, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born March 3, 1923 in Dardanelle to Z. V and Dora Blair Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Denver, Ransey, Lloyd, Everett, Charlie, Earnest, and Johnny; four sisters, Eunice Keys, Arlie Callans, Ollie Sitton, and Dorothy Deeds.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion L. McReynolds Stewart; three daughters and one son-in-law, Leona and Coy Rose of Ola, LaRae Farris and Tammy Leach both of Dardanelle; two sisters, Ella Shoemaker of Winnsboro, LA and Nellie Callans of Norman, OK; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Nina Johnston Horine Stewart, age 80, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born April 21, 1926 at Dardanelle to the late Harold and Sibyl Ross Johnston. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 39 years, Theodore W. Horine and a sister, Jane Klober.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, John L. Ola Lea Stewart, 90, of Russellville, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born September 12, 1916, at Delaware, to the late John Henry and Florence Mae Broadrick Shoemaker. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, in Dardanelle and retired from Tyson Foods after 26 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Loyd "Jack" Stewart; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Eva Stewart of Mustang, OK, Jack and Alicia Stewart of Weslaco, TX, Joe and Leslie Stewart of Lakewood, CO, Johnny and Rose Stewart of Dardanelle; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce and Bob Bata, Janey Gentry of Russellville; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Stewart, Roy T.

Roy T. Stewart, age 96 of Russellville died Monday, June 5, 2006 at St. Mary's Regional Hospital. He was born January 14, 1910 at Hampton, AR to the late George W. and Juley Ann Johnson Stewart. He retired from Arkansas Power and Light as a Distribution Superintendent after 49 years of employment. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriners and attended the First Baptist Church in Russellville.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel P. Shepherd Stewart; an infant daughter, Margaret Frances Stewart; brothers, A. B. Carl, and Bob Stewart; sister, Lorene Cooper.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy L. and Pamela M. Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, George W. Stewart of Fordyce; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Tommy Wayne Stewart, 22, of Pottsville, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Ft. Smith. He was born July 1, 1987, in Danville and was working in the natural gas industry.

He is survived by his mother, Annette Freeman of Pottsville; his father, Danny Stewart of Wilmington, DE; a daughter, Ka Bella Stewart of Atkins; a brother, Jeremy Stewart of Pottsville; a sister, Danielle Stewart of Pottsville; his grandmother, Rose Little of Russellville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruben Franklin Little, Elmer (Sonny) Stewart and Peggy Sue Stewart and an aunt, Cynthia Little. Funeral

Stickland, Kathleen Turner

Kathleen Turner Stickland, age 95, of Plainview, AR, widow of W. A. Strickland, Sr. died Thursday. She was born March 14, 1904 in Atkins, AR, a daughter of W. F. and Amanda Thompson Turner. She was a 1921 graduate of Atkins High School. She married Bill Strickland, childhood sweetheart and pharmacist in 1922. In 1938 the Stricklands bought Ellison Drug Store in Plainview and moved from Atkins to Plainview. She worked in the drug store with her husband, becoming a licensed practical pharmacist on September 1, 1958. Mr. Strickland retired in 1967 and soon the drug store became a part of C&D Drug Store of Russellville. After his death in 1969, Mrs. Strickland and Mrs. Ola Sloan, long-time employee of Strickland Drug Store, continued to work part-time for C&D Drug Store. Mrs. Strickland did not renew her license after 1986. She was a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church serving in many capacities including an active member of the United Methodist Women, Administrative Council, Choir. Her church honored her in 1982 for her many years of service. She was also a member of the Gravelly Eastern Star, the Danville Music Club and the Study Club at Ola. She and her husband donated land for the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department and she donated the land for the Masonic Lodge in his memory.

Survivors are three children and their families, W. A. Strickland, Jr. and his wife, Wanda of Overland Park, KS and children, W. A. (Dub) Strickland and his wife, Wanda and daughter, Rebekah of Rydal, GA and daughter Lea and her husband Rick Taylor of Woodstock, GA, Dr. Robert Strickland and his wife, Ellen and son, Matthew of Overland Park, KS, and David Strickland of St. Louis, MO; Kathleen and her husband, William S. Bill) Bell, Sr. of Russellville, AR and their children, Sharon and her husband, Roger Hamilton of Atkins, AR, William S. Teresa Louise Stickler, age 83 of Danville died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Born June 20, 1922 in Greenville, TN she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Effie Johnson Craven. She was a retired secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Earl Stickler; three sons, Edward, Ronald and Kenneth.

Survivors are a daughter, Melinda Bailey of Norman, OK; two sisters, Hilda Miller of CA and Nancy Gorbics of IN; grandchildren, Gena Burns of Russellville and Thomas E. Martin and four great grandchildren.

Christina Paige Stinnett, age 23, of Dardanelle died Sunday, September 30, 2007. She was born December 29, 1983 at Little Rock. She was the daughter of Dr. Thomas C. and Elizabeth Woodson Stinnett. She was a Creative Writing and Journalism Major.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Billy Woodson and Tommy Stinnett; great grandmother, Robbie Esch; uncle, David Woodson and aunt, Sarah Woodson.

Survivors include her parents, Dr. Thomas C. and Elizabeth Woodson Stinnett of Dardanelle; brother, Thomas Christian Stinnett II of San Francisco, CA; Pat Woodson and Bobbie Sue Stinnett; uncle and aunt, John and Pam Woodson all of Dardanelle; and her beloved puppy, Vadar.

Miss Ruthie J. Stinnett, age 91 of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, May 29, 2000 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center in Dardanelle, AR. She was born May 18, 1909 in Wildcat Hollow, Logan County, AR to the late LL "Pat" and Callie Hodges Stinnett. She was a retired Lineworker for Arkansas Valley Industries.

Survivors are one nephew; two nieces and several great nephews and nieces.

Stogdell, Charles "Rusty"

Charles "Rusty" Stogdell, age 74, of Ola, AR died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Texas on January 14, 1929 son of the late Loyd Stogdell and Estelle Perm Kratzer. He was a retired electrician.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and William Stogdell and a sister Margaret Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include his wife, Evelean Hightower Stogdell; two sons, Mike Crawford of Little Rock and Steve Crawford of London; five daughters, Brenda Campbell of Havana, Sheri Fausset and Alisa Crawford of Plainview, Karen Crawford of Fayetteville and Wanda Allen of Fort Smith; a sister, Jewell Opseth of Dardanelle; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

William K. Stogdell, age 62, a resident of Plainview, AR died Saturday, January 29 2000 at Ola, AR. He was born March 23, 193-1 in Los Angeles, CA to Lloyd and Ivy Estelle Penn Stogdell He was a truck driver and Navy Veteran of Korean and Vietnam Conflicts.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Albert Stogdell.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Lois Powell Stogsdill, a son, Leon Ray Stogsdill, a daughter Autumn Marie Stogsdill and one brother, Wesley Stogsdill.

Survivors include his wife, Branda Lewis Stogsdill of Aly; a daughter, Leandra Jean Stogsdill of Aly; a sister, Brenda Stogsdill Grouse of Hollis; his father-in-law, Leon Lewis of Aly; his mother-in-law, Shelby Lewis of Aly and one aunt, Iva Murphy of Hot Springs. Bennie Stokes, 66 of Aly, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in Aly, on August 16, 1937. He was the son of the late Marvin and Sally Parker Stokes. He was a retired farmer and logger, and a member of the Aly Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Estlene Smith.

Stokes, Vashti Louise Buckman

Vashti Louise Buckman Stokes, age 97, of Fayetteville, AR, died Monday, June 12, 2000 at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1902 at Havana, AR, the daughter of Shell and Addie Denton Buckman. She was a homemaker and baby sat for one family for over 25 years. She taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She attended the Normal School in Russellville (now known as Arkansas Tech).

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshal Stokes in 1980, her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by, one son, Joseph F. Stokes of Bowling Green, KY; two daughters, Mary Louise Stokes of Fayetteville, AR and Martha E. Hurst of Flippin, AR; several nieces, nephews and close friends, Dr. Jacob C. Agee and family.

Service was June 15 at First Assembly of God Church officiated by Rev. Wayne Danner with eulogy by Dr. Kim Agee. Burial was at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
