Hunnicutt, Bruce Lamar

Bruce Lamar Hunnicutt, age 72, of Gravelly, AR passed away from this life on November 18, 2002. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Gravelly, the youngest of 14 children of the late William C. and Maude Hunnicutt. He was a member of the Nola Church of Christ and Gravelly Rural Fire Department. He was retired from General Motors in Kansas City and was an active poultry and cattle farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years and best friend, Nella Harberson Hunnicutt; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Pamela Hunnicutt of Gravelly; and daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ron Sayre of Shawnee, KS; granddaughters, Randi Hunnicutt of Waldron, AR and Kaitlin Hunnicutt of Gravelly; grandsons, Shawn, Eric and Aaron Green of Gravelly and Stephen and Mike Sayre of Shawnee, KS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Bobbi Hunnicutt of Danville and Wayne and Rosetta Hunnicutt of Harvey; sisters, Myrtle Hunnicutt Duvall of Albany, MO and Lois Hunnicutt Douthit of Carlisle and a host of friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Maude Hunnicutt and 9 brothers and sisters.

Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 11:00 a. m. at the Nola Church of Christ with burial at the Young Gravelly Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville, AR. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shawn, Eric and Aaron Green and Stephen and Mike Sayre and Mark Wagner. Honorary will be Jake Pickens, Gene James, Ezell Jones and J. B. Wagner. Hunnicutt, Bruce Larmar

Bruce Larmar Hunnicutt, 72, of Gravelly dies Sunday, November 18, at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was born October 10, 1930, at Gravelly, he was the youngest of 14 children to the late William C. "Will" and Maude Pearl Smith Hunnicutt. He was a poultry and cattle farmer, and retired from General Motors Corporation. He was a member of the Nola Church of Christ and the Gravelly Rural Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Hunnicutt, Christean Wood

Christean Wood Hunnicutt, 81, a resident of Russellville, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. She was born May 12, 1928, at Bluffton, to Monroe H. and Hester Worley Wood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Russellville and a former member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Camarillo, California for 45 years where she was president of the Womens Missionary Society and held offices on many church committees and taught Sunday school. She loved decorating cakes, making hats, and ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, C. T. Wood, and two sisters, Lillian Reed and Mary Cluck.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Duwayne Hunnicutt of Russellville; two sons, Larry Hunnicutt of Russellville and Ken Hunnicutt of Wenatchee, Washington; three sisters, Lorene Clayton of Dallas, Texas, Berline Patton of Bluffton, and Inez Aikman of Bluffton; and two grandchildren, Meredith and Alex Hunnicutt, both of Wenatchee, Washington.

The funeral was July 20, 2009, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Tom Walker, the Rev. Dale Hunnicutt and the Rev. Stephen Davis officiating. Burial was in Young Gravelly Cemetery at Gravelly, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Just at the hour of going to press we learn of the death of Rev. Geo. W. Hunnicutt venerable Baptist minister, which occurred at an early hour yesterday morning at his home in Danville.

Hunnicutt, George Washington (Rev.)

Rev. G.W. Hunnicutt, 73, died at his home in Danville, Wednesday, June 26. A native of Canton, Ga., he came to Yell County, Ark., when just a boy. At Young Gravelly last year he celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his preaching at that place. He was a Baptist minister 54 years, was a charter member of the Baptist church of Danville and its first pastor, where his widow now remains the only charter member. It is believed that Rev. Mr. Hunnicutt has baptized more people, married more couples, and conducted more funerals than anyone who has lived in this section of the state. He was known and loved by many people in this region. Hunnicutt is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. D.J. Mills, Shidler, Oklahoma; Mrs. C.C. Brown, Shawnee, Oklahoma;; and Mrs. W.W. Watkins, Arkadelphia; four sons, N.G., Danville; Dewey, Newkirk Oklahoma; O.B., Ft. Smith, and Loyd, DeQueen; two sisters, Mrs. J.L Cowger, Danville, and Mrs. John Lemons, Oktaha, Oklahoma; and six brothers, Noble T. and Jim both of Warner, Oklahoma; Cody, Gravelly; Carence, Cotton Plant; and Joe Hunnicutt, Corley, Arkansas; and Wallace of Colorado.

Jess A. Hunnicutt, age 73, of Ola died Wednesday, September 17, 1969 at a Yell County hospital. He was a retired lumberman, a native of Gravelly, the son of the late John and Molley Wilson Hunnicutt, a member of the Baptist church and a 50 year Mason.

Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Lula Wilson Hunnicutt of the home; two sons, Q. D. Hunnicutt of Booneville and H. H. Hunnicutt of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Japolene Manning of Booneville and Mrs. Willo Dean McCoy of California; two brothers, John D. Funeral services were held at the Ola Baptist Church Friday afternoon by Rev. Bill Williams, assisted by the Rev LeRoy Harpe and Rev. Pollard. Interment was at the Ola Cemetery. Johnnie Delolah Hunnicutt, age 80 of Ola, died Friday, June 4. 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born September 5, 1929, in Yell County, Arkansas, to the late Clifton and Dollie Light Green. She was a retired cook for the Plainview School District and later Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and Plainview VFW Women's Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace "Glen" Hunnicutt; and a brother, Elms Green.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wynona and Sammy George of Plainview; five sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Susan Hunnicutt of Danville, J. A. and Diane Hunnicutt of Nola, Charles E. Hunnicutt of Holden, MO, Cody E. Hunnicutt of Bangor, ME, and Steven R. Mrs. Laura J. Hunnicutt, age 96, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Gwin, at Gravelly on January 17, 1955. She was born in Alabama and moved with her parents to Arkansas in 1869. She married the late J. R. Hunnicutt in 1852. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Lawrence Allan "Larry" Hunnicutt, age 66, of Danville passed away Friday, December 9, 2017 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born December 19, 1951, in Oxnard California to Duwayne & Christean Wood Hunnicutt. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Camarillo, CA. He graduated high school in Camarillo, CA. where he was the FFA President. Larry attended Cal Poly College in San Luis, California where he majored in farm and ranch management. He was a ranch manager in California, a retired poultry and cattle farmer and a long distance truck driver for PAM trucking in Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christean Hunnicutt.

Survivors include his father, Duwayne Hunnicutt of Russellville; brother, Ken Hunnicutt of Wenatchee, Washington; niece, Merideth Hunnicutt and nephew, Alex Hunnicutt of Wenatchee, Washington; aunt, Eloise Hunnicutt of Russellville; uncle, Del Hunnicutt of Lowell and a host of cousins. Hunnicutt, Leo

Leo Hunnicutt, age 92, of Danville, AR joined the Church Triumphant Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born in Gravelly, AR on February 23, 1917. After graduating from Fourche Valley High School, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Wyoming. He then served in the American Armed Forces in Europe during WWII, where he received three bronze stars, a good conduct medal and the Purple Heart. After the war he moved to Oakland, CA and began working at the Oakland Army Terminal. He married Bobbie sue Gillespie in February 1959 and together they had four children. In 1972, Leo retired from his position at Oakland Army Terminal and moved his family back to Yell County, AR, brought a broiler farm and raised chickens and cattle for the next 20 years. He served as a deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA, at Halcyon Baptist Church in San Leandro, CA and at First Baptist Church in Danville. He enjoyed reading the Bible, participating in Sunday school, gardening and reciting poetry. Leo was richly blessed in this life by a large and loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clement and Maud Pearl Smith Hunnicutt; his sisters, Neomia Humphreys, Vivian Watkins, Pearl Fowler, Myrtle Duvall, Lois Douthit and Allie Lee Defoor; his brothers, Ralph, Coy, Cletis, Owen, Bruce, infant brother and nephew, Charles Ray Watkins.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bobbie Sue Gillespie Hunnicutt; two sons, Dr. Bradley Hunnicutt of Raleigh, NC and John Hunnicutt of Danville, AR; two daughters, Melissa and Mike Loudermilk of China Springs, TX and Beth Deramus of Fort Smith, AR; two grandsons, Michael Loudermilk and Ryan Deramus; two granddaughters, Katherine and Daphne Loudermilk; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Wayne and Rosetta Hunnicutt and Nell Hunnicutt all of Gravelly and many nephews, nieces and friends. Pallbearers were Billy Hunnicutt, James Mitchell, Jimmy, Frank, Jeff, Randy, Bill and Tony Gillespie. Honorary were Deacons of Danville First Baptist Church and Bill Castleberry Sunday School class.

Funeral service was Monday at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Jamie Staley and Rev. Tom Sullinger officiating. Interment was in the Earl Ladd Cemetery, Danville with Military Honors by VFW Post 3141 of Dardanelle. Odas Hunnicutt, 86 of Hot Springs, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 in a local hospital. He was born August 18, 1919 at Gravelly, Arkansas. He was a member of Grand Avenue Methodist Church, U. S. Army WWII veteran and was district manager of Rephan's Department Stores for 41 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hunnicutt; his mother, India Mae Poindexter) Hunnicutt; his wife, Esther Hunnicutt; one sister, Beulah Ball; and two brothers, Opal Hunnicutt and Oral Hunnicutt.

Survivors include one daughter, Beckie (Hunnicutt Campbell of Little Rock, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Eileen Hunnicutt of Hot Springs; two sisters, Lil Robinson of Little Rock, AR and Grace Brasher of Gravelly, AR; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The service was held Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pam Estes officiating. Pallbearers were Rod Rupe, Kent Hunnicutt, Randy Hunnicutt, Marvin Frank, Mike Robinson, and Jerry Campbell. Opal R. Hunnicutt, age 82, a resident of Heath, died Friday, June 11, 1993 at his home. Services were conducted Monday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Heath. Rev. M.L. Jones officiated Masonic Graveside Services in Heath Cemetery under the directions of Lyons Funeral Home in Rockwall.

He was born September 10, 1910 in Gravelly, AR. He was the son of Robert L. Hunnicutt and India Poindexter. He retired as a cabinet maker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Heath. He was also a member of East Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 157 AF&AM. He was married to the former Eunice Hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice Hunnicutt of Heath; sons, Kent Hunnicutt of Terrell; and Randy Hunnicutt of Tyler; daughter, Mafy Garcia of Dallas; brothers, Oral Hunnicutt of Dell, AR; and Odia Hunnicutt of Hot Springs; sisters, Grace Brashears of Boles, AR and Lillie Robinson of Little Rock, AR; 10 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah Ball.

BLYTHEVILLE - Oral E. Hunnicutt, 80, retired agriculture teacher at Dell High School, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta of injuries received in an auto accident.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Dell Methodist Church, where he was chairman of the board, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Cobb Funeral Home has charge. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, past president of the Arkansas State Vocational Teachers Association, past president of Dell Kiwanis, past lieutenant governor of Kiwanis and a World War II Army air forces veteran. Hunnicutt, Paul

Paul Hunnicutt, age 61, of Russellville passed peacefully on Saturday, May 1, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 24, 1948, in Lawton, Okla., to Roy and Vesta Millwood Hunnicutt, he was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, an American patriot and a faithful child of the King of Kings.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Jannine Grossman Hunnicutt; two daughters, Teresa Lyon and husband, Greg, of Lancaster, Pa., and Kelly Prince and husband, Vince, of Van Buren; six grandsons, Dusten Russell, Adam Prince, and Malachi, Evan, Brennan and Simeon Lyon; two brothers, Richard Hunnicutt of Knoxville and David Hunnicutt of Cadillac, Mich.; and two sisters, Sandra Morris of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Kay Bailey of Madison, Va.

After graduating from Plainview-Rover High School in 1966, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and received training in aviation mechanics. Paul maintained the P3 for the Navy in Vietnam and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in sociology from Arkansas Tech University in 1975. Paul worked at National Home Centers as a commodities buyer for 24 years, retiring this year. The outdoors provided a special refuge, especially fishing and hunting with his family and friends. A member of First Free Will Baptist Church, he enjoyed teaching Sunday school and was an avid member of the choir.

A ceremony celebrating Paul Hunnicutt's remarkable life was at 2 p. m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Blaine Rogers officiating. Pallbearers were long-time friends, Russell Thomas, Earl Steen, Jay Griffin, Carroll Jones, Dick Eubanks and Danny Russell. Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Hunnicutt, Dusten Russell, Adam Prince, Rick Delcamp and Vince Prince. Following the service, the final resting place is at Rest Haven Memorial Park by Humphrey Funeral Service. In honor of Paul's service to his nation, full military honors were provided by the Rogers-Rye Post 2283 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Hunnicutt, Pauline

January 3, 1913 - March 6, 2010 -- Pauline Hunnicutt, also known by friends and family as "Pebble", passed from this life on March 06, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hunnicutt.

Surviving family members are nieces Sue Hill, Judy Houser, Lori Wisnewski and Franchelle Owen; nephews John Matt Lile, Tom Sullinger, Larry Vest, and Bob Vest.

Pauline lived a long and wonderful life beginning as a school teacher. In this endeavor she met the love of her life, Arthur Hunnicutt and the pair moved to New York to begin careers in modeling and acting culminating in a walk on the "red carpet". Their work moved them to Hollywood, California where they lived the majority of their lives before Pauline moved back "home" to Arkansas. Pauline was a long standing and very active member of Asbury Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending "keen agers" and playing the piano.

A visitation will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home on Tuesday March 9 between the hours of 4pm and 6pm. Mrs. Pearl LaVesta Hunnicutt, 68, a resident of Ola, died Monday, August 17, 1970 at St-Mary's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late M. D. and Martha Findly Ryals. She was member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Julian Hunnicutt; three sons, Roy of Atkins, Troy; of Dodge City, Kans., and Glen of Ok; one daughter, Mrs. Atlas Justice of Ashlin City, Tenn,; one brother, Lester Ryals, Kennerdick, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Oss Holt of Longview, Wash., Mrs. Ella Blackstock of Plainview,. and Mrs. Loly Mays of Siloam Springs; 19 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandehildren.

Hunnicutt, Roy Lee

Roy Lee Hunnicutt, age 70; of Ola, AR died Monday, February 15, 1993 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville. He was a retired sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, son of the late Julian and LaVesta Ryals Hunnicutt, and a member of Fisher-Law Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Plainview, Plainview and Bluffton Masonic Lodges, and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a York Rite Mason and a Scottish Rite Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vesta Francis Hunnicutt; three sons, Richard Hunnicutt of Ola, Paul Hunnicutt of Russellville and James David Hunnicutt of Virginia Beach, CA; two daughters, Kay Bailey of Morrilton and Sandy Young of Detroit, MI; a sister, Helen Justice of Neptune, TN; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Trusty and the Rev. Frank Williams. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service of Ola. Thula Herrin Hunnicutt, age 96, formerly of Gravelly, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born July 1, 1902 in Nola, Arkansas to the late Robert and Laurah Belle Journey Harris. She was a co-owner of the S. C. Herrin Store in Gravelly. A homemaker and a member of the Danville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, S. C. Herrin and her second husband, Julian Hunnicutt.

Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Brehman "B.K., and Marie Herrin of Tulsa, OK; 1 grandson and his wife, Steve and Cathy Herrin of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter and her husband, Angelia and George Farrell of Fairfax. VA; 3 great grandchildren, Sam and Cathie Herrin and Alistair Farrell.

Funeral services were Monday, June 21, at 10:30 a. m. at the Danville Church of Christ with Brother John McCourt officiating. Burial was in the Parks Cemetery in Nola. Hunnicutt, Wayne

Wayne Hunnicutt, 85 of Harvey, Arkansas passed away at his home from complications of lymphoma on September 11, 2012. He was born on May 9,1927 in Gravelly, Arkansas to parents Will and Maude Smith Hunnicutt. He was retired from General Motors, Delco Battery Division in Olathe, Kansas. He enjoyed music, gardening, singing and playing the guitar. He was a leader and very active in the Nola Church of Christ in Nola, Arkansas. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a beautiful garden and yard.

He had 13 brothers and sisters, all have preceded him in death. He was married to Alma Sue Wagner for 25 years.

He is survived by three children from his first marriage: Waymon Hunnicutt (spouse Dianne) from Overland Park, KS, Floyd Ray Hunnicutt (Betty Glover) from Choctaw, Oklahoma and Cynthia Pilgrim (spouse Darin) from Lone Jack, Missouri; five grandchildren, Aimee House, Travis Hunnicutt, Matthew Hunnicutt, Lucas Pilgrim and Jessica Pilgrim and great grandchildren are Cole House, Harrrison Hunnicutt, Kinsey Hunnicutt, Savannah House, and Madison Hunnicutt. He was then married to Rosetta Marker on November 28, 1997. His step-children are Margaret Threadgill, Gail Undernehr, Junior Marker and Debbie Sehorn.

William L. "Billy" Hunnicutt, 72, of Magnolia, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Magnolia Hospital. He was born September 9, 1935 in Little Rock. He was a graduate of Magnolia High School, served in the Arkansas National Guard and later was owner and operator of Royal Printing Company in Magnolia. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where his father, Rev. Loyd L. Hunnicutt, served as pastor for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Loyd L. Hunnicutt and Carrie Orbaugh Hunnicutt; and sister, Martha Lynn Phillips.

He is survived by two nephews, Ben Phillips and wife Kayla of Magnolia, and Ken Phillips and wife Jamie of Emerson; three great-nieces, Jennie Phillips of Magnolia, Julie Phillips of Emerson and Sarah Phillips of Emerson; brother-in-law, Herman Phillips of Emerson; and numerous cousins and friends.
