Dennis Farrel Nelson, age 40, of Atkins, AR died Thursday, April 2000 at his home. He was born March 8, 1960 at Russellville to Alton "Hoot" and Peggy Duvall Nelson of Atkins, AR. He owned Custom Auto Paints in Russellville, was a member of the SunRise Bass Club of Yell County and Ada's Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Morphis Nelson; a son, Gregory Ryan Nelson of the home; his parents, Alton "Hoot" and Peggy Nelson and a grandmother, Bernice Duvall of Russellville, AR.
Funeral service was Monday at Happy Valley Assembly of God with Rev. Peggy Duvall, Rev. Chad Duvall and Rev. Michael Burden officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service. Lillian Estelle Nelson, age 77, of Mt. George, AR died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born May 22, 1923 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Fred and Mary Davis George. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Centerville, AR.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Nelson; three brothers, Buford George of Wichita, KS, Milton George of Clearwater, KS and Shirley George of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters, Zelma Gardner of Dardanelle, AR and Walcie Day of Belleville, AR and several nephews and nieces.

William Jay Nelson, aged 90, of Havana died in a Fort Smith hospital Friday, October 14, 1960. He was a retired interior decorator and a member of the Associate Reform Presbyterian Church.

Annie Grace Neuhart, age 86 died Monday, May 19, 2003 in Fort Smith. She was a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church, a resident of Methodist Village in Fort Smith. Annie Grace was also a retired home economics teacher. She was a member of the Ola Pioneer Study Club, the Yell County Retired Teachers Association. She served with the American Red Cross in the European and Pacific Theaters in World War II. After WWII, she worked with the Red Cross on the reconstruction of Japan.
Memorial services were held Monday, May 26 at the Plainview Methodist Church, Plainview, AR. Cremation conducted at Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville, AR. Also, there was a memorial service held at 3:30 pm, Friday, May, 23 at Methodist Village in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cleo Neuhart of Plainview and two sons, Paul and Cindy Neuhart of Atlanta, GA. Larry Neuhart of Fort Smith. Mrs. Hattie L. Cockman Neuhart, age 98, of Plainview, AR, widow of Charles Wesley Charley Neuhart, died Tuesday, November 9, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born March 10, 1895 in Ava, Perry County, Arkansas to the late William and Mattie Ladd Cockman. She was a housewife and mother and a member of the Plainview Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors two sons, Cleo Neuhart of Plainview and Cecil Neuhart of Charleston; two sisters, Ive Herrin of Mt. Valley and Carrie Bankston of California; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jaunell Neuhart, age 80, of Ola died Sunday, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Born July 9, 1926 in Birta, to Ira "Ted" Edwin and Mary Ann George Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, infant daughter Wanda Louise George; son, Garry Dale George; brother, Carroll Rodgers.

She was a member of St. Augustine s Catholic Church, University of Arkansas Alumni Association, the River Valley Arts and Crafts Club and a lifetime member of the Russellville Band Boosters Club.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Norman P. Neumeier; son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Cindy Neumeier of Maumelle; daughter and son-in-law, Paula A. and Danny L. Bill Newman passed away at the Army Navy Hospital August 24, 1950 at the age of 54.

Bobby Sue Mosley Davis Newnam, age 72, of Danville, AR died Thursday, June 14, 2007. She was born December 16, 1934 in Belleville, AR, the daughter of the late S. J. and Luna Mae Whitecotton Mosley. She was a retired beautician and a member of the Baptist Church.

Hazel Mosley Newnam, age 73, of Modesto, CA died Tuesday at her home. She was a native of Yell County, AR. She lived in Modesto 53 years. She was a homemaker and had been a beautician. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army every Christmas. She belonged to the Emblem Club and was a member of the Orangeburg Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey C. Newnam of Modesto; children, Patricia Nordell and Samuel H. Franklin W. Newsom, age 21, of Casa, AR died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church, the Casa Masonic Lodge 537, Casa Rural Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed by Dana Corporation as a product technician and a 1994 graduate of Casa High School. He was born January 27, 1976 at the Yell County Hospital in Danville, AR. He loved his many friends and family, the love of his community was expressed in his involvement in various organizations throughout the Casa and surrounding area. He was also involved in various sports and hobbies including hunting, fishing, golf and horseback riding.

Harry Curtis Newsom, age 55, of Casa, AR died Saturday, September 2, 2000 at his home. He was born December 11, 1944 at Walcott, son of Elmer and Stella Odell Greenway Newsom. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher and music director. He was a former member of the Perry-Casa School Board, Casa Town Council and an active member of the Casa Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from the Arkansas State Parks System, serving as parks superintendent at several state parks.
He was preceded in death by his son, Franklin Newsom; three brothers, H. D., Bill and Jim Newsom; two sisters, Loretta Gramling and Nina Newsom.
He is survived by, his former wife, Edith Teel Newsom of Casa; a daughter, Velta Newport of Dover, AR; a son, Larry Gilmore of Casa; two brothers, Moe and Doyle Newsom both of Paragould; three sisters, Tilda Simmons of Paragould, Melba Byrd of Jonesboro and Glenda Davis of Bay; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret Michie (Watson) Newsted, age 81, of Altus, OK, formerly of Danville, AR died Wednesday, September 14, 2005. She was born in Tarvas Aberdeen Shire, Scotland on March 12, 1924. She was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church in Altus, OK. She served in the Royal Army during WWII at Oundle, England. She was a member of the Briggsville Baptist Mission while she lived here. She also served as a volunteer in the Chambers Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a longstanding member of the Happy Hour Doll Club and enjoyed hours of games and fun with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents one brother one sister all of Scotland, her husband, Leslie J. Newsted and a son, Allan M. Newsted.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Leo Baker of Poway, CA and Vicky and Daryle Moore of Altus, OK one daughter-in-law, Betty Newsted of Danville, AR seven grandchildren ten great grandchildren one sister of Scotland and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Reverend Allan Melvin Newsted, age 54, of Danville, AR died Thursday, May 11, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was a native of Scotland, he was born in Tarvas, Averdenshire on June 21, 1945. He was the minister at the Briggsville Second Baptist Chapel Mission, a master electrician, a Vietnam Navy Veteran, a graduate of Southern Baptist Theology Seminary in Louisville, KY receiving a degree in Christian Ministry and was a sophomore at Arkansas Tech University working toward an Associate Degree in computer science.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie J. Newsted and his father-in-law, Thomas Edmond Burkett.

She was born December 7, 1936, in Elk City, Oklahoma to the late Odell and Annie Bell Lane Elmore. Mrs. Newton's accomplishments include an educator for over 25 years, teacher at Plainview-Rover School where she taught first and second grades, teacher and Elementary Principal at Western Yell County Schools, Graduate of Southern Bible College, Master of Education and Administration from ATU, member and pianist of the Ranger Freewill Baptist Church, Women's Auxiliary, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Director Pastor's Assistant for the Children's Evangelist Crusade, member of the Upper Spring Creek E. H. Club, and coordinator for the Belleville Reunion.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Irene Sides Elmore; an aunt, Geneva Dennis; a nephew, Robert Morris.

Opal Inez Newton, age 84, of Dardanelle died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at her home. She was born March 18, 1922 in Spiro, Oklahoma to the late Raymond and Lucy Davis Applegate. After graduation from nurse s training at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, she married Raymond Newton in June of 1944. She then began her nursing career while Raymond was stationed in Tennessee and later in Europe, during WWII. Some of that time she worked in California. She worked for Millard-Henry Clinic in Russellville and then became county health nurse in October of 1956 and serving that capacity for twenty years before her retirement. She was also an avid quilter, having won several awards for her workmanship.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Applegate.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raymond Newton; a stepson, Larry Newton of Ola; one brother, Woodrow Applegate of Dover; nephews, Bill Applegate of Glendora, CA; a niece, Jane McGhghy of Glendora, CA; several other family and friends.

Raymond Newton, age 89 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at UAMS. He was born January 3, 1921 at Scottsville, Arkansas to the late Thomas Frank and Minnie Ann Partain Newton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez Newton; brothers and sisters, Marzo Newton, Paul Newton, Gladys Newton, Olive Price, Fern Rowlands, Ruby Freeman, Hazel Bryan, and Helen Bright.

Bertha M. Nichols, age 100 of Briggsville, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Mitchell Nursing Home. She was born December 1, 1907 in Bluffton, AR to the late James and Lela Mae Edwards Monroe. She was a homemaker, mother, farmer, and member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Nichols; daughter, Imogene Spears; brothers, Bill Moody and Ken Moody, and sister, Emma Lawson.

Mrs. Effie Leeanna Nichols, age 92, of Onyx, AR, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, AR. She was born in Onyx, February 15, 1905 daughter of the late John Thomas and Mattie Barrows Yates. She was a mother and homemaker and past Postmistress for the Onyx Post Office. She was a member of the Onyx Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Army Veteran of WWII, and a retired Laborer. He was born May 2, 1924, to me late Joe G. and Daisy Revells Nichols in Wakulla County, FL.

Ada Ruth Nigg, age 89, of Dardanelle, AR, formerly of Urbana, IL, died Monday, May 26, 2003 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville, AR. She was born March 5, 1914 in Champaign County, IL to the late Earl and Mattie Martin Harper. She attended schools in Villa Grove and Tuscola, IL, married Otto Slade, August 11, 1935, he died in 1936, married Fredrick Jacob Nigg from December 2, 1940 until his death November 8, 1982. They farmed in the Mahomet, IL area until moving to Urbana, IL in 1954. She moved to Dardanelle, AR in 1993. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russellville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a grandchild.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Pastor Robert E. and Janet Slade of Harlingen, TX and Phillip C. and Jacque Nigg of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Bart Cipolla of Altamonte Springs, FL; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
