William O. Mayer, age 66, died Tuesday at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born July 2, 1934, the son of the late Oral "Odie" James & Eva Edith Rollans Mayer. He was retired from a career in the Army, a Veteran of the Korean War, worked as a mechanic for Summers Chevrolet and a member of the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death a brother, O. J. Mayer.
Survivors include a son, Rickey Mayer, Copperas Cove, TX; a daughter, Jocelyne Lashley, Copperas Cove, TX; three brothers, Denver Mayer, Tuscaloosa, AL, James & Billy Mayer both of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters, Sandra Cook, Jonesboro, GA, Linda Jackson, Dardanelle, AR; grandson, Jeffrey Lashley; great granddaughter, Kloe M. Clayton McAnally, age 70 of Atkins, AR died Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Waltreak, AR on October 27, 1930 to the late John and Lillian Jackson Mc Anally. He owned and operated CM. Trucking.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Doug Putman.
He is survived by, his daughter, Kathy Putman of Danville, AR; two sons, Dwayne Mc Anally of Vilonia, AR and Mike McAnally of Russellville, AR; his special companion, Eunice McAnally of Atkins; a brother, Marvin McAnally of Ola, AR; three sisters, Amy McConnell of Danville, AR, Wanda Buckman of Ola, AR and Emma Gulley of Eucha, OK; a step son, Steve Robinson of Conway, AR; three stepdaughters, Debbie Bell of Russellville, Ginger Edmonson of Paris and Pam Linker of Atkins; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; five step grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Marvin Layton McAnally, age 76, a resident of Ola, died Friday, October 1, 2004, at his home. He was born March 3, 1928, at Waltreak, Arkansas to the late John Edward and Lillian Jackson Mc Anally. He was a former long distance truck driver and he attended the Ola Assembly God. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He married Ada Lucille Morris on November 5, 1970, at Danville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Audie, Claudie and Clayton McAnally and two brothers-in-law, James McConnelle and Jimmy Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Lucille McAnally of Ola; his daughter, Sandra Kaye McAnally of Ola; three sisters, Amy Lee McConnell of Danville, Wanda Buckman of Ola, Emma Gulley of Oklahoma; numerous nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
Funeral was held October 4, 2004 at the Ola Assembly of God with Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Burial in the Ola-Sandlin Cemetery at Ola under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Adrian G. McBride, age 74, of Port Isabel, TX and Ardmore, OK. died December 17, 1997 at die Brownsville Medical Center, Brownsville, TX. He was born September 20, 1923 in Havana, AR. to the late Chester and Maude McBride.
He was preceded in dead by a sister, Latane Wright. McBride lived in Port Isabel, TX. since 1989. He retired from Shell Oil Company in 1979 after 27 years of employment. He worked for the State of Oklahoma as a gas and oil inspector and retired in 1989. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II where he served aboard the U. S. S. Highlands at Iwo Jima. He landed on the Island of Iwo Jima with the 5th Wave of troops on Red Beach 2. He earned an American Campaign medal as well as two Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Bronze Stars and a Philippines Liberation Ribbon.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Port Isabel, TX and Ardmore, two daughters, Adrianna Bivens of Wellington, CO, and Karen Erenfeld of Denver, CO; one son, Steven McBride of Ardmore, OK; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; a sister, Sue Low, of Danville, AR and Port Isabel, TX, and a brother, Ernest Carpenter, Winston-Salem, NC

Mrs. Agnes McBride, aged 85, of Briggsville died Saturday. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Briggsville Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Glynn McBride of Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. O. L. Briggs of Briggsville, Mrs. E. B, Findly and Mrs. Carl Evans, both of Little Rock; two brothers, Charles W. Castleberry of Texas and Robert Castleberry of Rover; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Norman of Plainview, Mrs. Berniece Caviness and Mrs. Ruth Tunnell, both of Little Rock; six grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren.

Carrie Faye McBride, age 96, of Killeen, TX died Saturday, March 18, 2000 at the Killeen Nursing Home. She was born June 10, 1903 to the late Thomas Turner and Amanda Daniels Turner. She received her education at Havana High School, was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, Ollis McBride.
She is survived by, two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Wallace Nonnemacher of Belton, TX and Billy Jean and Joe Home of Mahtomed, MN; grandchildren, Carolyn Duggar of Belton, TX, Jamie Cisneros of Arlington, TX, Thomas McLean of Mansfield, TX, Charles Home of Mahtomed, MN; great-grandchildren, Holly, Haley, Richard and Glenn Duggar, Trent Jackson, Patrick James and Andrew McLean also several nieces and nephews.

Ernest McBride, age 79, of Ventura, CA died April 17, 1997. He was born on September 2, 1917 at Havana, AR. He was a 47 year resident of Ventura, CA. He worked for Yellow Cab, retiring in 1988 after 27 years.

Glynn McBride of Little Rock, AR died Sunday, November 12, 2000 in Parkway Village Health Center in Little Rock. He was born August 19, 1914 in Briggsville, AR, son of John Henry and Agnes McBride. Dr. McBride received a B. S. Degree from the University of Arkansas and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin after having served as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II. His professional career was varied and distinguished as a Veterans Training Program Supervisor in Missouri; County Agricultural Extension Agent in Fayetteville, Russellville, Clarksville and Clinton, AR. Sabbatical in the Tariff Department in Washington, DC; economic advisor to the Government of Pakistan, and was a professor of Agricultural Economics at Michigan State University for thirty years. There he wrote a college textbook and numerous publications, bulletins and articles and was well known as a teacher, researcher, dairy specialist and speaker. His greatest joy was working with the students. He was a member of the Parkway Place Baptist Church in Little Rock and a number of honorary professional organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Roberta Briggs and Anna Mae Evans.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mary Jo Humphrey McBride; son and daughter-in-law, David Glynn and Lisa McBride of Columbia, MO; a sister, Marjorie Fendley of Little Rock, AR; eight nephews; one niece and other relatives, friends and former students.
Funeral service will be 10 a. m. Thursday, November 16, 2000 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock with Rev. Allan Greer and Rev. Jesse Reed officiating. Guinn McBride, age 76, of Havana, AR died Thursday, January 4, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was born in Havana, AR on September 16, 1924 son of the late Wayne and Alma Wardlaw McBride. He owned and operated McBride's Grocery in Havana, being in the family business for over 60 years in Havana. He also had served a short term in the United States Coast Guard.

Mattie McBride of Havana passed away January 22, 2009 at the age of 93.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Willie Akins, her husband, Ovid McBride, and her grandson, Mickey Young. She was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church, a wonderful mother, homemaker and talented artist.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Davin (Dennis) of Little Rock and Teresa Salazar Rene) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Kristin and Julie all of Houston, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Marcus, Luren, Lindsey and Kyle. There was a graveside service at the McBride Cemetery on Monday, January 26, with Reverend Bill Storts officiating. Mr. Nathan McBride, age 86 last May 11, more widely and affectionately known as Scott, died at his home Jan. 4, 1938 after dropping on the sidewalk at the Wayne McBride store and having to be taken home.
Besides his wife Mr. McBride is survived by daughters Mrs. Norah Burcham, Royce, Texas; Mrs. Anna May Buttenfield, Tyler, Texas; Mrs. K. Harkey, near Belleville and Mrs. Ola Greenlee, of near Havana and sons, Homer and Audice, Havana and E. L. McBride, Waveland.
The services were in the Assembly of God church, with its pastor, Rev. Mr. Justice, in charge, assisted by Rev. C. J. Wade, pastor of Methodist church, Belleville and Rev. Mr. W. E. Huey, pastor of the Havana Presbyterian church. Miss Alma Lazenby sang a solo and flowers were beautiful.
Mr. McBride was the last of his father's family surviving only a few weeks his brother, Colonel McBride, who died Dec. 1, in Tecumseh. As a pioneer Uncle Scott was one of the best known of our Yell County men having hosts of friends as evidenced by the birthday parties celebrated for him the last few years. The father of a large and much respected family, a man that lived as he prayed, Havana has lost a man that in his quiet way was a living example for all who knew him. Ralph McBride Jr. died on October 5, 2006 at his home in Salem, Oregon. He was born and raised in the town of Havana and Booneville, Arkansas. He later moved to California and was in the insurance business for several years. He then moved to Salem, Oregon where he was an accountant and owned his own business for twenty years.

Ralph A. McBride, age 84, of Salem, OR, formally of Danville, AR. died Saturday, February 13, 1999 in Salem, OR. He was born on June 12, 1914 in Cedar Creek, AR. son of the late Claude and Cora Belle Smith McBride. Upon graduation from Havana High School, he took a job as a clerk in a general store. He later bought and operated his own store in Havana. In 1934 he moved his family to California and worked in the oil industry for 26 years. Upon retirement he returned home to Cedar Creek, purchased a farm and raised cattle. He later retired to Danville where he lived until March 1995, at which time his failing health prompted his son Ralph A. McBride to move his father to Salem, OR to live with him and his wife. They took care of him until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Willie McBride of Ola, AR; a son, Ralph A. McBride Jr. of Salem, OR; a daughter, Carolyn Benson of New Canaan, CT; a brother, Raymond McBride of Paramounty, CA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be February 20, 1999 at 2:00 p. m. at the Smith Cemetery in Cedar Creek by Garland Lipe. Family visitation will be Friday at the Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville. Raymond Dean McBride, 89 years old and born and raised in Arkansas departed his long life on August 8, 2008 in Promise Hospital in Paramount, California. Present with him was his loving companion of 20 years at his side. He supervised and worked in the oil fields in the California area for 39 years. He loved talking about his work days in the oil fields. He also enjoyed playing his fiddle. He was a member of the Paramount Fiddlers Club. He had and made many friends in his lifetime, but his best friend and loves one was his Nita. He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful man and father.
He had one daughter, Dalliah and one son, Dean, whom he loved very much.

Willie E. McBride, 88 of Ola died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Mitchells Nursing Home at Danville. She was born April 12, 1917 in Plainview. She was a homemaker and mother and former owner of Sloan Dry Goods in Ola. She was a member of the Ola United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Vaughn, Holbart Sloan and Ralph McBride; her parents, Belle Williams and Harley and Mary Williams; sons-in-laws, Charlie Sebesta and Fred Golden and a sister, Meda Beth James.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Golden and Betsy and Bob Rice all of Ola and Carol Sebesta of Havana; three sisters, Virginia James and Ruby McKee both of Waveland and Frances Mathis of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Ola Methodist Church with Rev. Billie Jean Tate officiating. Burial was in Smith Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B. McCall, Jr.; one daughter, Mary L. McCall and two sisters, Irene Click and Macie Deschand.

Mrs. Lula Belle McCall, age 72, of Wing died April 5 in the Yell County Hospital in Danville. She was a daughter of the late John and Mattie Tucker Gillum. She was a Baptist.

Paul McCall, age 84, died May 6, 1952 at a Carlsbad, New Mexico hospital after a short illness. Born December 6, 1867, in Bluffton, McCall had a long and active political career in both Arkansas and New Mexico. He moved to Carlsbad 30 years ago in November, 1922. He served three terms as probate judge of Yell County, one term in the Arkansas House of Representatives and two terms as Eddy County's probate judge. He was known for his profound knowledge of politics and government.

BRADENTON, Fla. A. Cleve McCarty, age 64, of Bradenton, Fla. a native of Yell County, president and chairman of the board of Nu-West Industries, died Tuesday.(10-3-1989) McCarty was a past chief operating officer of Beker Industries and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p. m. Friday at Humphrey Funeral, Home of Russellville by the Rev. Kaye Evans. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery, Dardanelle.

Mrs. Ann H. McClanahan, age 89, died at her home in the Cedar Creek community near Havana Saturday, March 4, 1950. She was born in Yell County near Danville on July 15, 1860, the daughter of Samuel and Pamelia Madden, pioneer settlers of Yell County, and married to E. K. McClanahan in 1891, who preceded her in death. Mrs. McClanahan, who was known by her many friends as "Aunt Ann", was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Reuben McClanahan of Cedar Creek; two grand children and two great grand children.

Bertha Nora Elnora McClanahan, age 97 formally of Belleville, AR died Tuesday June 30, 1998 in Porterville, CA. She was a native of Texas, daughter of the late John W. and Ada Mendosa Horn Branch. She had been the manager of the Claredon Hotel for 18 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben McClanahan; a son and a daughter.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Donnie Sue Bounds and a grandson, Harrison Moudy both of Porterville, CA; six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ida L. McClanahan was born in Marietta, Ga. December 31, 1860, a daughter of James F. McCleskey and Sallie Fowler McCleskey. She came in early childhood, with her parents, to Yell County, the family settling in the Lower Spring Creek community near Belleville. She was married in 1881 to a John G. McClanahan, a native of South Carolina; he brought her as a bride to the farm home in the Cedar Creek community, near Havana, where she maintained a home as long as she lived, Mr. McClanahan having died many years previous. At the time of her death, February 14, 1948, she was visiting in the home of her son, Hays, in Little Rock.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Fannie Crownover, Havana, Mrs. R. D. Davis, Mansfield, Miss Mary McClanahan of the home; three sons, Jim Hays, and Sid all of Little Rock, Reed McClanahan, Council Bluff, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Edwards, Woodstock, Ga. Mrs. G. H. Justiss, El Dorado; a brother, C. F. McCleskey, Eldorado, and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at Little Rock by Rev. T. N. Shaddox. Burial was held in the Lower Spring Creek family plot with services conducted by R. A. Dorman of Danville. Doris Laferne McClure, age 82 of Rover, widow of Ralph W. McClure, passed away on April 24, 2009 in Atlanta, TX. She was born in Des Arc, AR. She was a member of Rover Baptist Church. She attended Cross Pointe Baptist Church until she could no longer attend. Doris was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary Post 8525 at Plainview. She was a song leader at Rover Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearly Kerr and Edgar F. Rochell; her grandparents, Francis French and James I. Kerr, Nancy Ellen Buckalew and Namaviel Rochell; two brothers, Howard and Irvin; six sisters, Lodene, Ida, Loal, Virginia, Janie and Beatrice; and a son-in-law, Tommy Tygart.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, William (Bill and Janet McClure of Springdale, AR and Charles Chuck) McClure of Rover, AR; daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis Tygart of Cabot, Shelia and Joe B. Ralph William McClure, age 69, of Rover died Sunday morning, February 21, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. McClure was a native of Ackerman, Mississippi a retired timberman, a veteran of World War II, and the son of the t late T. L. and Lou Edwards McClure.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Rochell McClure; two sons, Billy McClure of Belleville and Chuck McClure of Texas; two daughters, Sheila V Kennedy of Nash, Texas and Mrs. Phylis Tygart of Little Rock; two brothers, Charlie McClure of Danville and Noah McClure of Rover; one sister, Mrs. Katie Leonard of Mississippi; one grandson, Jody Tygart, and three granddaughters, Miss Amanda Tygart, Miss Lisa Kennedy, and Miss.
