Jones, Loyce Curtis

Loyce Curtis Jones, Sr. age 89, of Waveland, AR died Saturday, January 8, 2000 in a San Antonio, TX hospital. He was a retired farmer and career Civil Service worker at Tinker Field AFB, Oklahoma City. He was a past deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Magazine, AR.

He is survived by his sons, Curtis and wife Carolyn of San Antonio, TX and Benny and wife Donna of Simi Valley, CA; three brothers, Jack and wife Jewel of Elk City, OK, Dean and wife Regina of Reseda, CA and Delmos and wife Mary of Frasier Park, CA; sisters-in-law, Ann Pfeffer and husband John of Oklahoma City, OK and Rennie Jones of Elk City, OK and grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer and Melissa Jones and Lee and Scott Hern.

Jones, Margaret Alice Pemberton

Mrs. Margaret Alice Pemberton Jones, 76 of Pottsville, AR, departed this life Friday, March 11, 2005 in Russellville. She was born in Fort Smith, AR on September 28, 1928, the daughter of Port Arthur and Myrtle Bell Yancy Pemberton. She was a homemaker and farmer and attended Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlan E. Jones; a daughter, Pamela Green and one step son, Billy Jones.

Survivors are her son Norman Brixey of Pine Bluff, AR; two daughters, Mary Jones of Centerville, AR, Ann Araguz of Pottsville, AR; brother, Clyde Pemberton of Corcoran, CA; two sisters, Flora Tarlton of Star City, AR, Doley Runnells of Pine Bluff, AR; two step sons, Evender "Buddy" Jones of Batesville, AR, Glen Jones of Dumas, AR; two step daughters, Maggie Latham of Dardanelle, AR and Shirly Jackson of Paris, AR; twenty-six grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Jones, Marilyn Sue

Marilyn Sue Jones, age 32 of Belleville died Sunday, January 22, 2006 with her son at her home. She was born November 20, 1974 at Dardanelle to Stanley and Mary Jane Lewallen Warren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Warren.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Leon Jones of Belleville; two daughters, Brittany Nicole Jones, Billie Breanna Marie Jones, both of Dardanelle; brother, Bruce Warren of Dardanelle; sister, Becky So wards of Hector; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Mary Jones of Dardanelle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2006, 2:00 p. m. at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Walter A. Gorman officiating. Jones, Martha Evelyn Howell

Mrs. Martha Evelyn Howell Jones, age 96 of Dardanelles, AR died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born July 15, 1903 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Haynes A. and Martha Garretson Ho well. She was co-owner of Garret Jones Implement Company with her late husband, Garrett Jones. They were among the founders of the Bank of Dardanelle and she served as director and then honorary director until her death. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, member of the United Methodist women, DAR, Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, Dardanelle Business and Professional Women's Club and was voted Jaycette Woman of the Year in 1964.

Survivors include five nephews, Judge William R. Bullock and A. B. Cox both of Dardanelle, AR, Thomas L. Bullock of Little Rock, AR, Robert Sly of Fayetteville, AR and David Howell of Okmulgee, OK; three nieces, Mary Croom Gordon of Fairfield Bay, AR, Virginia Sargent of Dallas, TX and Mary Gale Barnes of Houston, TX.

Jones, Martha Lou Leach

Martha Lou Leach Jones, age 74, of Morrilton, AR died Sunday, June 29, 2003. She was born September 25, 1928 in Plainview, AR a daughter of the late B. A. Leach and Ola Breashears Leach. She was the widow of Virgil Jones and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Ann Eldridge; three brothers, Hanford, Odell and Thurston Leach and two sisters, Hazel Marcum and Mildred Leach.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Glenda Eldridge of Jonesboro, David and Debbie Eldridge of Morrilton, Bruce and Sarah Jones of Morrilton and Gerald Eldridge of Morrilton; daughter, Karen Newcomb of Morrilton; sisters, Imogene Bridges of Little Rock and Ernestine Barry of Morrilton; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be today, July 2, at 10 a. m. at the Harris Chapel with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Jones, Norman Ray

Norman Ray Jones, age 88, of Belleville (Ranger community) passed thru the Pearly Gates of Heaven, Monday, July 9, 2007 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born June 18, 1919 in TX to the late Horace & Corra Jones from Alamogordo, NM. He was a Disabled American Veteran. He proudly served his country as a young, man. He served in the 142nd Inf. 36th Divison in WWII, in Italy, France and Germany. He received the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Dardanelle Lock and Dam. He lived in the Ranger Community where he enjoyed his family and his cattle farm. He and his wife were active in the Ranger Church and Ray served as a Deacon there for many years.

He is preceded in death by his darling wife of 57 years, Lorene Benedict Jones; brothers, Cecil and Deanie Jones and a sister; Pearl Makinson.

Survived by his blessed, loving family, daughters & sons-in-law; Judy & Wayne Underwood of Ranger, Jean & Lee Ratliff of Westcliff, CO, Kathy & Jackie Woodard of Central City, AR and Debbie & Corky McConnell of Ranger; son & daughter-in-law, Norman & Leslie Jones of Ranger; 10 grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Jones and Royce Jones of Alamogordo NM.; three sisters; Leon Russell of Alamogordo NM., Dorothy Benedict of Ola, Ruby Smith of Houston, TX. Oragel Jones, age 87 of Harvey, AR, died Thursday, May 3, 2001 at Chambers Memorial; Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Gravelly on February 12, 1914 to the late Sidney Buford and Jessie Elizabeth Pody Jones. He was; a retired farmer, a WWII Army, Veteran and a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Clester, Baxter, Ira, Phinous, Doyle and Opal; three sisters, Velma, Vada and Estelle.

Survivors include, his wife, Louise Carmen King Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Bambi Jones of Gravelly; two grandsons, Jody and Susan Jones of Rover, AR and Ricky Jones of Gravelly, AR; three. great-grandchildren, Trent, Holley and Trever Jones of Rover; one sister, Virlon Jones of Missouri and three sisters-in-law, Emma Jones of Gravelly, Barbara Jones of California and Evelyn Jones of Oklahoma and several nephews and nieces.

Sidney Buford Jones - Sidney Buford Jones, 73, died at his home in Gravelly April 5, 1954. He was born at South Fourche and his parents moved to Gravelly when he was two months old, where he spent the remainder of his life. He had been a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church for 50 years. He was married to Jessie Poda in 1899.

Thomas Jack Jones, age 66 of Dardanelle, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at his home. He was born October 14, 1941 at Paris to the late W. D. and Beatrice Worley Jones. He retired from Dardanelle Public Schools as transportation and maintenance supervisor and he was a retired U. S. Navy Veteran where he served two terms in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kathy Hodges Jones of Dardanelle; son, Bill D. Jones of Sherwood; sister-in-law and husband, Beth and Dr. Terry Green of Mountain Home; brother-in-law, Monroe Hodges of Dardanelle; numerous nieces and nephews.

Virgie Jones (August 17, 1920 - December 30, 2007) Virgie Jones, 87, of Waldron Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 in a Waldron Nursing Home. She joined her husband Gaylord Jones and son, Gaylon Dale Jones in heaven. Jones, Walter Phillip, Sr.

Walter Phillip Jones, Sr. age 57, of Danville went to his heavenly home on October 17, 2008, after a lengthy stay in Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Awaiting him there are his father, James "Munk" Jones, twin brother, Wayne Michael Jones, and younger brother, Glen Charles Jones, all of Kinder, Louisiana.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lenora Jean Jones; a son, Walter Phillip Jones, Jr. three daughters, Melissa Mathis, Dee Dee Beechler and Jamelyn Ryder; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, all of the Danville/Russellville area; his mother, Effie Marie Jones, sister-in-law, Linda Janeen Jones, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of Kinder, Louisiana.

Jones, Wanda Loeva

Wanda Loeva Jones was born on April 8, 1930, in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Nola Etta Renfrow and Earl Fowler. She accepted the Lord as a child and served Him with all her heart and soul according to God's Word, the Bible. Wanda was married to William J. R. Jones, on October 6, 1951, and moved to Bakersfield, California in 1952. She had four children by him, one deceased shortly after birth. She graduated from Danville High in Arkansas and earned a two year degree in an accounting program.

Although she worked at numerous jobs over her 28 years of employment, her longest jobs were with Boynton Brothers Tire Service and Withiam's T. V and Appliance Store. Her last church affiliation was with Riverlakes Community Church where she was an active part of their "Prayer's and Squares" Quilting Ministry program and a member of "The Cheerleaders", faithfully attending until she became ill. Her previous church affiliation was with Bakersfield First Church of the Nazarene and Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene here in Bakersfield. She was known by her family and friends as a courageous, very tender hearted, giving and dignified lady who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.

She died peacefully at home under the loving care of Hoffmann Hospice with a few of her family members present at 12:15 a. m. on March 1, 2008, at the age of 77.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy West, and survived by sisters, Jeanell Harris, Erlene Cotton, Hazel Whitaker and Lynnette Pearce; three brothers, Ed, Jim and Bob Fowler, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was survived by her children, Paula Jones, Gary Jones, and Charlotte Borges and five grandchildren.

There was a graveside service Saturday, March 8, at 11:00 a. m. performed by Pastor Milt Cole. William "Boy" Leon Jones, Jr. age 4 of Dardanelle died Sunday, January 22, 2006 with his mother at her home. He was born August 30, 2001 at Russellville to William Leon and Marilyn Sue Warren Jones.

William Harold Jones died September 14, 1949 in Houston, Texas. He was born and raised in Yell County and lived in the Mount Carmel community he served in World War I and after the war went to work for the Missouri-Pacific rail road and was a conductor at his death.

Jordan, Bill

Bill Jordan, age 80, of Malvern, AR passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born July 22, 1923 in Malvern to Samuel and Maude Evelyn (Bailey) Jordan. He was a retired Electrical Cellman at Reyholds Metals Company and served in the Army Air Force during WWII and the Korean War as a CBI in the Asian Pacific. He loved fishing and hunting and was an avid baseball and football fan. He was a Deacon at Gilead Baptist Church and was also a Sunday School teacher and trustee.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Blanche (Keys) Jordan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Duke and Cynthia and Billy Bosley both of Friendship; one son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Lesa Jordan of Prattsville; one sister, Mary Ann Hill of Malvern; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Jordan; a daughter, Tanyea Renea Jordan and a grandson, Joseph Duke.

Funeral service was April 11 at the Regency Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Walter Yarbrough and Milton George officiating. Burial was in the Harp Cemetery. Judd, Truman

Truman Judd, age 70, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 15, 1934, the son of Harvey and Berthe Bullock Judd in Asphalt, KY. He was an Army Veteran, a plumber and a member of the Centerville Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Alvie, Elmer, Dallas, Howard and Leslie Judd and one sister, Aline Guilliam.

Survivors include his wife, Mayrene Judd of Dardanelle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Nora Judd of Dardanelle, Steve and Lynn Judd of Olivehurst, CA and Ralph and Frances Judd of Tampa, FL; one sister, Chlorine McEntire of Hector; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was August 23, 2004 at the Centerville Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle by Humphrey Funeral Service. Judkins, Burl Doylus

Burl Doylus Judkins, 96, a resident of Dardanelle died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born March 20, 1910 in Atkins, Arkansas to John Lewis Judkins and Dora Boudra Judkins. He spent his early years in Bells Chapel Community in Pope County. He was a farmer for over 50 years in the Dardanelle area. In 1957, their family was chosen as Yell County Farm Family of the Year. He raised cattle and was a longtime member of the Yell County Cattleman's Association and the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle.

He is preceded in death by a younger brother, Earl Loylus; his mother and father; his wife, Minnie Lee Carrigan Judkins and his step-mother, Lona Judkins Hill. His survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dora and Doyle Gunter of Russellville, Betty and Jim Coffey of Dardanelle; son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Judkins of Dardanelle; four grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly Davenport of Fort Smith, Buddy and Jeanene Gunter of Erie, PA, Johnny and Kim Judkins of Dardanelle, Andrew and Brandi Judkins of Fayetteville; six great-grandchildren, Rachel Davenport, Ben and Liam Gunter, Macey and Gaige Judkins and Fuller Judkins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, 2006, 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Roger Glover officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, Dardanelle, Arkansas 72834. Active pallbearers were Mark Thone, Ron Merritt, Ronnie Tucker, Bob Griffin, and Albert A. Lovelle. Wanda Faye Standridge Judkins, age 61, a resident of Dover, AR, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at her home in Dover. She was born on October 9, 1941 in Lamar, AR to Charles Washington and Lura Mae (Owens) Standridge. She married Gary Don Judkins on September 2, 1977 in Dover. She was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping and collecting Angels and loved her "grandbabies" She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of Dover.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother, Clinton Ray Standridge, brothers, Herbert and Donald "Pete" Standridge and a sister, Ruth Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Judkins of Dover, AR; six children, Tim & Vicki Mayhew of Dover, Thomas Tina Mayhew of West Fork, AR, Tereasa Warnick & John Hopson of Dover, AR, Jeffrey Teresa Judkins of Ft. Smith, AR, Lisa & Tim Whitten of Russellville, AR and Traci & Steven Taylor of Russellville, AR; one sister, Jewell and Norvel English of Dover, AR; one brother, Charles and Lenora Standridge of Dover, AR and 15 grandbabies.

Funeral service will be today, December 4, 2002 at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church officiated by Bro. Bob Freeman and Bro. Dewayne Pritchard.
