Dean, Ida Ann (Bowen) Knight

Ida Ann Knight Dean age 83 of Plainview passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Dardanelle Nursing Home. She was born March 26, 1929 in Rover, AR to the late Aurby & Ethel Burns Bowen. She was a line worker for 26 years for Congra. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Troy Knight and Bill Dean; sister Mary Long; grandson Nicholas Knight.

Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Pat Knight of Rover; Tommy & Betty Knight of Gilkey; Robert & Brenda Knight of Nimrod and Billy Dean of Oregon; daughters, Kimberly Dean of Oregon; Teresa Harrison of Houston; brother, Clarence & Pat Bowen of North Little Rock; sister Melba Besancon of Little Rock; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Danville Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Via officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Plainview. Dean, Jessie

Mr. Jessie Dean age 56 a prominent farmer of Chickalah Mountain died at his home Tuesday morning October 27th with heart failure. Mr. Dean was tending to the hogs, and passed away before they could carry him to the house. He lived a quiet Christian life and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. His life was a good example to live by.

Those left to mourn were, his wife, Mrs. Ida Dean, and three daughters Miss Mary Ellen Dean and Mrs. Emma McCain of this place and Mrs. Flora Young of Holdenville, Oklahoma and three sons, Joseph Dean of this place, Monroe Dean of Corinth, and George Dean of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and a host of friends and relatives.

Monroe E. Dean, aged 71, of Belleville died at the Yell County Hospital Wednesday, June 27. He was a retired farmer and lumberman and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Dearman, E Luker

Sue Luker Dearman, age 67, of Rover died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mrs. Dearman was born March 14, 1935 in Arkansas to the late William and Mable Evans Luker. She was a unit secretary, a homemaker and mother and attended the Rover Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Grover C. Dearman II; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Vaughn and David and Carol Dearman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rover C. II and Katherine Dearman of Choctaw, OK; a daughter, Donna Dunsmore of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Lynn Luker of Crescent, OK, Paul Luker of Lusk, Wyoming; a sister, Wilma Taylor of Choctaw, OK; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dearrington, Lillie Christine (Welch)

Lillie Christine Dearrington, 92, passed from this life on February 14, 2012 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Christine was born on April 5, 1919 to Lester and Orpha (Ray) Welch in Havana, Arkansas. She worked as a beautician and at the Radar Institute.

She is the niece of former statesman, Joe Ray who preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her loving husband, Gene Dearrington; son, Bobby "Bear" Dearrington; parents; and brother, James Ray Welch.

She is survived by son, Joel Dearrington and wife, Jeanne; grandchildren, Lance Dearrington and girlfriend, Lisa Gray, Kim Dearrington and wife, Loretta, Kris Dearrington, John Dearrington and wife, Anne and Bobby Dimery; great grandchildren, Paige Dearrington, Noah Dearrington, Brice Dearrington, and Olivia Dearrington, Taylor and Stevie Dimery, Nick Swiger and Nicole Campbell; and former daughter- in-law, Lisa Dearrington Baldridge.

Dearrington, R. E. "Gene"

R. E. "Gene" Dearrington, age 85, passed away Sunday, January 10, 1999 in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Madison, AR. February 19, 1913. He was a retired Finish Carpenter and belonged to the Carpenters Local Union No. 943 in Tulsa, OK and had lived in Tulsa since October 28, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Dearrington, three brothers and one half-brother.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Welch Dearrington of the home in Sapulpa, OK; son Joel Gene Dearrington of Jay, OK and son Bobby Lester Dearrington of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was born August 29, 1921 at Delaware to the late Robert and Johnnie Roper Shoemaker. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Delaware First Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, cook, find a word books and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Garland Higgins and J.C. Deeds; four brothers, Desmond Shoemaker, Farris Shoemaker, Robert Shoemaker, Gerald Shoemaker; two sisters, Florence Lynn and Hilda Davis.

Jamilea Suzann Defoor, age 13, of Danville, AR died Monday, October 9, 2000 near Strong, AR in an automobile accident. She was born May 31, 197 in Little Rock, AR. She is the daughter of Mark Anthony and Ken Rachelle Barnett Defoor of Danville. She attended both the Danville and Strong public schools. In Danville she was a member of the Basketball and track teams, as wells as the cheerleading squad. In Strong she was a member of the track team and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a member of Danville Church of Christ and Youth Group.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Troy Defoor.

She is survived by, her parents, Mark and Keri Defoor, Danville, AR; two sisters, Machala and Sarah Defoor both of Danville; her paternal grandmother, Shirley Defoor and maternal grandparents, Sharon & Don Gililland and J. C. & Gloria Barnett all of Danville, AR. Other survivors are, Kim Randy Fairris of Strong, AR, James Edwin Harvey of Little Rock, AR; Beverly & John Oliver, Sue Burge all of El Dorado, AR, Barbara Morgan Fairris of Strong, AR, Lauren Harvey of Little Rock, AR and MeaRanda and Austin Fairris both of Strong, AR.

Defoor, Martha Mae (Roberson)

Martha Mae (Roberson) Defoor of Harvey, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born May 4, 1932 to William Harvey Roberson and Elsie Elizabeth (Brown) Roberson in Little Texas, Arkansas. Martha was 80 years, 10 months and 3 days old. Martha was a member of Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church near Gravelly, Arkansas. In June 1957, Martha married the love of her life, Carlton Defoor. They enjoyed 45 years together before his passing in 2003. They raised four children and shared their lives with many, many friends and loved ones. If you went to Martha's home she expected you to eat. If you didn't go back for seconds, then something was wrong. Martha's, made from scratch, pies and fried pies have been a long time sought after delicacy at local fund raisers. It's been said, that someone once paid $400.00 for some of Ms. Martha's fried peach pies. Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters; Carolyn Williams and husband David of Harvey, Arkansas, Marilyn Sherrill and husband Terry of Waldron, Arkansas, Deloris Hutchens and husband Jerry, Janice Blankenship and husband Robert all of Harvey, Arkansas. Gran will forever be missed by nine grandchildren: Sue Cox, Laura Kluthe, Kris Williams, Amanda Hill, Megan Bass, Lisa Hunt, Jeremy Hutchens, Lindsy Kearney and Ethan Blankenship. Gran will also be missed by 18 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Martha is also survived by one sister, Mary Blackwell and husband Doug of Jesseville, Arkansas and four brothers: Harvey Roberson of Bluffton, Arkansas, Dan Roberson of Jesseville, Arkansas, Jim Roberson and wife Vickie of Bluffton, Tommy Roberson and wife Mary of Little Texas, Arkansas. Gran will be missed by all who knew her and the many whose lives she touched, including a number of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband Carlton Defoor, her parents, William and Elsie Roberson, brothers R.B. Roberson, R.C. Roberson and sisters in law, Veaora Roberson, Brenda Roberson and Betty Roberson. Martha's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church in Gravelly, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt and Rev. David Riker officiating.

Martha Mae (Roberson) Defoor of Harvey, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born May 4, 1932 to William Harvey Roberson and Elsie Elizabeth (Brown) Roberson in Little Texas, Arkansas. Martha was 80 years, 10 months and 3 days old. Martha was a member of Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church near Gravelly, Arkansas. In June 1957, Martha married the love of her life, Carlton Defoor. They enjoyed 45 years together before his passing in 2003. They raised four children and shared their lives with many, many friends and loved ones. Troy Ray Defoor, age 67, of Blue Ball, AR died Saturday, February 19, 2000 at his home. He was retired from Tyson Foods and a Veteran of the Korean War.

WayIan Defoor, age 84, of Gravelly passed away Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at his home. He was born January 17, 1928 in Gravelly, Arkansas to Elbert & Lillian Lemons Defoor. He was retired from General Motors and a member Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Myrel Melton Defoor; and grandson Coady Defoor.

Bonnie Lee McBride Delaney, age 86, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Good Shephard Nursing and Rehab in Little Rock. She was born September 8, 1929, in Havana, Arkansas to the late Victor & Effie Reed McBride.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Delaney; and sister Foy Ezelle McBride.

Delay, Ray O.

Man Killed In Wreck Near Here - Ray O. Delay, age 56, of Laredo, Texas died of injuries received in a head-on collision near Danville Tuesday afternoon. His son, Bill Delay, 20, driver of the car and Bob Woods, 65, driver of the other car, were both injured. Woods critically. Bill Delay is a student at Arkansas Tech and Woods lives at Chickalah. The wreck happened about 4:30 p. m. about four miles north of Danville on Highway 27. State Trooper Dick Keathley said Woods was attempting to pass three trucks when the accident occurred. The Delays were driving towards Danville from Russellville. The impact, which drove the front end of both cars nearly back into the dashboards happened on Delay's side of the road. Ray Delay, after treatment at the hospital in Danville was taken to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock for brain surgery. He died soon after arriving there. Bill Delay is in the hospital at Danville, where his condition is satisfactory. He suffered face and head cuts, an injured nose and cuts to one leg. Woods was taken to the hospital at Russellville, where it was reported that he had both legs broken, one arm broken, head wounds, and a punctured lung. His condition was listed as critical Wednesday night.

Delay is survived by his wife, who was visiting in Louisiana at the time of the accident, two other sons, Charles, who owns a farm in Yell County and now lives in Venezuela, and Jerry of Harlingen, Texas. Cheri E. Delmonte, age 36 of Omaha, Nebraska died Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at Omaha, Nebraska. She was born March 7, 1967, in Freemont, California. She was a bus driver, a former member of the Casa Assembly of God Church, a former member of the Casa Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and a former Girl Scout and 4-H leader.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Mike Delmonte, Casa; father, Joseph Towe, Muskogee, OK; mother, Diane Hutchisson, Muskogee, OK; daughters, Amy Delmonte, Samantha "Punky" Delmonte, Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Jody Towe, Muskogee, OK; one nephew and one niece.

Delony, Patricia Ann (Reagan)

Patricia Ann Reagan Delony of Little Rock, Arkansas died at Arkansas Hospice at St. Vincent's on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the age of 80. Pat was born to Bob and La Verne Reagan in Danville, Arkansas on September 9, 1931. She and her sisters Paula, Bobbie, and Marty were raised in Danville where their parents ran the post office. While attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville she met Lawson Leonard Delony, Jr. They were married on September 14, 1952. Their first several years of marriage coincided with Lawson's service as a pilot in the Air Force, after which they moved to Little Rock and had two children - Diane and Lawson III (Len). At Danville High School, Pat was the president of the student body and a basketball player and cheerleader. She was an elementary school teacher and later belonged to the Junior League of Little Rock. She was a member at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral where she taught children's Sunday School. Pat was known for her pride in her Irish heritage, her enjoyment of holidays and celebrations, and especially, for her abundant love for children and for her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her husband Lawson Delony; her sister, Marty Stewart; her children, Diane and Ashvin Vibhakar and Len and Rebekah Delony; her grandchildren, Nathan, Malina, Abbey, Anna and Katherine; and by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Paula and Bobbie. The family is grateful for the support of many family and friends, particularly, the care of Betty Russell and Bobbie Hughes. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by many.

Visitation was held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Monday, February 20 with funeral services at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Tuesday, February 21.
