Dixon, Nancy Carol (Bittle)

Nancy Carol (Bittle)Dixon, age 68, formerly of Ola, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Arkansas Nursing and Rehab in Texarkana, AR. She was born July 16, 1941 in Ola, AR to Zeron Vernon (Red) and Ora Lee (Byrum) Bittle. She was a 1959 graduate of Ola High School and attended business school in Little Rock. She worked as a bookkeeper before becoming a homemaker and loving mother, and was a member of the Ola United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Z. V (Red) and Ora Lee Bittle; a sister, Catherine Bittle; and grandparents, John and Martha Byrum and Jacob and Maudie Bittle.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stanton and Rina Dixon of Ashdown, AR; daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Ronald Whitley of Texarkana, AR and Stephanie and Brian Moshier of Azle, TX; and a sister and brother brother-in-law, Sandy and Rick Wood of Ola, AR.

She is survived five grandchildren Katie and Joshua Dixon of Ashdown, AR and Samantha and Megan Hamilton, and Jordan Moshier, all of Azle, TX.

Graveside service was on Thursday, March 4, at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola, with the Rev. Eddy Howell and Dr. Floyd Ray officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Ola United Methodist Church, P. Nancy Carol (Bittle) Dixon, age 68, formerly of Ola, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Arkansas Nursing and Rehab in Texarkana, AR. Dixon, O.C.

O. C. Dixon, 66, born November 9, 1874, departed this life September 15, 1941. He was married to Mandy Dukes, February 25, 1896, and has been of Baptist belief all of his life, and lived in Yell County since he was 22 years old. Besides his widow, he leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Dixon, Pearl

Miss Pearl Dixon, age 76, of Havana, died March 8 in the Yell County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Atkins, but had spent most of her life in Yell County.

Dixon, Raymond Daniel

Raymond Daniel Dixon, age 56, died at his home in Morrisville, NC on July 8th, 2000. He was born March 13, 1944 in Marrakech, French Morocco, North Africa, to Raymond and Georgette Dixon. He came to Havana at age 2 and had lived also in Tulsa, in Saginaw, TX, Catoosa and Coweta in Oklahoma. He finished high school in Coweta, OK and was enlisted in the US Marines in October 1963. He served until November 1973, during that time he spent two tours with a helicopter crew in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by, one son, Bryan Dixon; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Harold Peck of Haskell, OK; two others sisters and a brother.

Dobbs, Barbara A.

Barbara A. Dobbs, age 63, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eula J. Sidenstricker Downs and attended the Church of the Nazarene at Danville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Bowers.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Dobbs; two sons, Rick Bowers and Paul Miller of Jonesboro, AR; a daughter, Ramona Dunnam of Russellville, AR; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Dobbs, Delbert Winfield

Delbert Winfield Dobbs of Rodeo, CA, age 79, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002 in San Pablo, CA. Delbert was born June 28, 1923 in Bluffton, Arkansas to the late Theo (Fee) W. Dobbs and Dovie Christine (Garner) Dobbs. Delbert served in the United States Army's 460th Ordinance Evacuations Company from 1943 to 1945. Served in Normandy France, Rhineland Germany, Ardennes Belgium, Central Europe and England. Returning to the United States to marry his childhood sweetheart, Allene Faye Mabry of Chula, Arkansas. Moving from Arkansas to California in 1953. He worked for Atlas Powder Company of Richmond, CA until 1960. He worked for Standard Oil Refinery (Chevron) in Richmond, CA from 1960 to 1988 retiring for health reasons. He spent his retirement years enjoying hunting with his son, grandson and great grandson. Fishing and hunting with anyone who would go. He loved going to his Army reunions and telling his "war stories" to all. He is remembered by some as a teasing "pick on you" joke telling person.

He is survived by his wife, Allene to whom he was married just one month shy of 57 years, by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Leatha Dobbs of Rodeo, CA; his daughters Phillis Dobbs and her companion Vern of Minnesota and Lynn Dobbs of Rodeo, CA. He will also be remembered by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Graveside

Dobbs, Jessie Ray, Jr.

Jessie Ray Dobbs, Jr., age 67 of Rover, passed away October 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born December 24, 1944 in Shreveport, LA to the late Jessie Ray and Maurine Stanfield Dobbs. He was a Marine veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara Dobbs.

Survivors include his grandson, Gerald "Bubba" Dunnam; and good friends, Gerald and Julie Dunnam all of Rover.

Dobson, Wanda Leigh Vaughn

Wanda Leigh Vaughn Dobson, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 4, 2007. She was born on November 7, 1920 in Dardanelle, the daughter of Dogan F. and Lola Harkey Vaughn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence W. Dobson; brother, Joe H. Vaughn; son, Harold L. Suggs.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Linda) Suggs of Little Rock; daughter, Vicki (David) Brantley of Alanson, MI. She had six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Wanda was a graduate of Garden Bottom High School. She was a former employee of Larry Robinson Photography Studios in Fort Smith for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and attended the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock.

Charles Marvel Dodd, age 90 died January 6, 1986 at St. Marys Hospital in Russellville. He was a veteran of World War I, a native of Yell County and the son of John F. and Winnie Hardy Dodd.

Mr. James Franklin Dodd, age 82, of Dardanelle, AR, widow of Nina Dodd, died Sunday, January 18, 1998 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born, May 12, 1915 in Dardanelle, AR to the late William Dodd. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, retired from the International Shoe Factory and a WWII Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Zeffra VanGilder Dodd Cossey and Wayne Cossey.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Wesley Johnson of Roseville, CA, Melinda and Larry McEntire of Greenwood, AR and Frankie and Wendell Lynce of Dardanelle, AR; one brother, Hanan Cossey of Lake Charles, LA; seven grandchildren, Debbie, Steve and Bryan Johnson of Roseville, CA, Jason and Amy McEntire of Greenwood, AR and Wendy and Zachary Lynch of Dardanelle, AR and one great-grandson, Kenny Johnson of Roseville, CA.

Robert L. Dodd, 47, of Ojai Calif., died June 7 in his home. A native of Havana he had been a resident of Ojai for several years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Dodson, Furlon Gist, Rev.

The Rev. Furlon Gist Dodson, age 85, of Russellville died Sunday, July 22, 1984 at Vincent's Infirmary at Little Rock. He was a retired Baptist minister who served churches in Arkansas, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, Texas and Missouri. He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University at Arkadelphia, received a master's degree from Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville, Ky. and held a doctorate in theology from Golden Gate Seminary at Berkeley, Calif. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora Lee Eidson Dodson; a brother, F. C. Dodson of Purdy, Mo. and several nephews and nieces.

Dodson, Nora Lee

Nora Lee Dodson, age 94, of Russellville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 3, 2005. She was born in Centerville, Arkansas on April 13, 1911, to the late Roy and Verna Eidson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. F.G. Dodson, D.D. and brothers Harold and J.L. Eidson, also sisters, Kitty Miles, Elsie Ree Maxey, and Polly McDannel. She graduated from Centerville High School then attended Arkansas Tech and Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After teaching school for several years, she married Rev. F.G. Dodson. While serving in the ministry, the Dodsons lived in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, California and Idaho. The last field of service was in Morenci, AZ. She taught school in Morenci ten years. Following their service there, they moved to Russellville, where they retired. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville and many of its auxiliary activities as well as several community organizations.

Survivors include sisters, Berniece Thompson of Russellville, Virginia Krieg of Russellville, Hilda Gill (R.D.) of Tyronza, Irene Henry (E.R.) of Dumas, and Sara McCormick (J.R.) of Crossett, also a brother, Dr. E.M. Eidson (Helen) of Holiday Island and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Overton, TX, a mother and a home maker, an Army wife for over 21 years and a ministers wife for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reverend Norman Odell Dodson; brothers, James, Gene, Fincher, Bill and Charles Elkins; sisters, Virginia Jewel and Ruth Ann Curtis.

Doepel, Amy

Amy Doepel, 39, of Russellville, died Friday, August 1, 2014, at her home. She was born February 22, 1975, in Russellville to Robert G. Doepel and Peggy Sue Huffman. She was of the Lutheran Faith and enjoyed camping, canoeing and reading.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Lydia Doepel and J.E. Huffman.

Survivors include her parents, Robert G. and Susan Doepel, and Peggy Sue Huffman; her children, Megan Nichole Mauldin and Trae Ethan Scott; one half-brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Jamie Doepel; grandmother, Corine Huffman; two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Zayla Tillery and many other relatives and friends.

Doll, Clifford Adrian

Clifford Adrian Doll, age 52, of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at his home. A son of the late Frankie (Dolby Doll), he was born October 12, 1956 in Tripoli, Libya. He was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University, and had taught school in the Danville Schools for fifteen years before moving to Texas, where he taught for thirteen years. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Danville and the Fellowship Church in Russellville, and was associated with the Baptist Church in Houston. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Christopher Duvall; and a niece, Tammy Neal.

Survivors include his father and his wife, Clifford and Bessie Doll of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters and two brothers-in-law Kathy and Eddie Neal of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mary Jane and Terry Rogers of Fresno, California; and Sheri Doll of Phoenix; a niece and her husband, Tracy Neal) and Aaron Marston; and a grandniece, Rylee A. Marston, all of Knoxville.

The funeral service was October 10, 2009 at the Grace Fellowship Church, officiated by Don Erwin. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service. Charles A. Dollman, age 90 of Belleville, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Tramel, July 12th. He was a member of the Baptist church at Belleville.

Survivors include, besides his daughter, one son, Johnny Dollman of Charleston; one step-daughter, Mrs. Edna May Melton of Claude, TX, nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Domerese, Alta Lee

Alta Lee Domerese, age 84, of Danville died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Mitchell's Nursing Home. She was born August 29, 1920, in Spring Hill, Johnson County, AR to the late Jasper and Effie (Walker) Gipson. She and her late husband, Roy Domerese owned and operated businesses for 56 years, including Domerese Grocery Store in Danville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Domerese; two sons, Kenneth Domerese, Alvin Roy Domerese and an infant son and daughter.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Betty Domerese, Jerry and Linda Domerese all of Danville and Steve Domerese; one daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Lawrence Richards of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dominguez, Magdalena Esperanza

Magdalena Esperanza Dominguez, age 56, of Dardanelle, died Friday, April 11, 2008. She was born November 8, 1951 at Zacatecoluca, La Paz, El Salvador to the late Andres Gonzales and Magdalena Dominguez. She was employed by Tyson Foods in Dardanelle and was a member of the New Life Christian Church in Danville.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Julio Cesar Cano.

Survivors include her son, Naun Amilcar Dominguez of Bryant; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Perez of Bryant; four grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1:00 p. m. at New Life Christian Church in Danville. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery, Dardanelle. Donaghy, Harold A.

Harold A. Donaghy, age 73, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born February 17, 1927 in Mason City, Iowa to the late Arthur and Alta Holmes Donaghy. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a life member of the Dardanelle Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosina Donaghy and a granddaughter, Lura Witt.

He is survived by, a son, Edward Jacobs, Mystic, Connecticut; two daughters, Jeanette E. Donahou, Marshall S.

Marshall S. Donahou, 77, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born November 9, 1934, at Russellville to Naamen and Myrtle Mahan Donahou. Marshall was retired from the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the Church of God in Center Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn Barnett Donahou; 10 brothers and sisters.

Bill Preston Donnell, Jr. age 28, of Conway, AR died Saturday, August 21, 1999 in Springdale, AR. He was born November 6, 1970 in Danville, AR. He graduated from Danville High School in 1989 as Valedictorian and was also a four year letterman in football, basketball and track. He received his degree in Graphic Design from Arkansas Tech University in 1993 and owned and managed On Time Design in Conway, AR. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herbert Donnell, Guy Murphy and Ezell Ryan.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Niven Donnell; his parents, Billy and Guyann Murphy Donnell of Danville, AR; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Shauna Donnell of Danville; paternal grandmother, Velma Donnell of Danville; maternal grandmother, Betty Murphy Ryan of Conway, AR; two nephews, Ryan and Joseph Donnell both of Danville, AR; uncle and aunts, Duck and Martha Donnell of Danville and Anna Sue Murphy of Russellville, AR; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Judy Niven of Texarkana, AR; a brother-in-law, Aaron Niven of Ft. Smith, AR. and a host of friends and other relatives.

Service was August 24, 1999 at the United Methodist Church in Danville, AR. with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Donnell, Herbert Winford

Mr. Herbert Winford Donnell, age 83, of Danville, Arkansas, died Thursday, November 12, 1992 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born February 28, 1909 son of the late T. H. and Canzeta Couch Donnell. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Donnell and Emmett Donnell and one sister Amy Morse.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velma Horn Donnell; two sons, Winford Duck Donnell and Billy Donnell both of Danville; three sisters, Ruby Chambers, Verda Tate and Jeanette Foster all of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandsons, Mike Donnell of Waldron, AR and Bill Donnell of Russellville, AR and one granddaughter, Mrs. Dana Donnell Young of Russellville.

Donnell, Jimmy Lee "Big Jim"

Jimmy Lee "Big Jim" Donnell, 72, of Rover, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born December 4, 1939, al Bakersfield, California, to Lester and Gladys Mamie Mahon Donnell. He was a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War, and had worked as a construction worker for Forestgreen Construction Company in both Little Rock and Ozark, and had worked in logging for John Blankenship for about 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Emma Jean Donnell.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, January Donnell; a son, David Donnell of Rover; a niece, Carol Walker and her husband Mitch, of Nola; two great-nieces, Rachael and Heather Walker, and a great- nephew, James Walker, all of Nola.

Lester William Donnell, age 58, of California died Thursday, March 19 at a California hospital. He was a native of the Macedonia community, a son of the late Tolley and Cannie Couch Donnell and a retired contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Donnell of Ola; one son, Jimmy Donnell of Ola; one daughter, Miss Emagene Donnell of Ola; one brother, Herbert Donnell of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Ammie Morris, Mrs. Rubie Chambers, Mrs. Jannett Sanders and Mrs. Verta Mae Tate of Oklahoma City and one grandson.

Funeral services were held at the Macedonia Church Wednesday morning by Rev. Luther Riddle. Interment was at the Macedonia Cemetery. Services were in care of the Cornwell Funeral Service. Donnell, Mary Ann (Weatherly) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Mary Ann Donnell, 86, passed away at the home of her son, James, Danville, at 3:30 Saturday morning, May 18. She had been in frail health for some time and seriously ill for a couple of weeks, so her death was not unexpected. She came from Tennessee to Arkansas while quite young and resided at Macedonia for a number of years, moving to Danville a year ago. Mrs. Donnell was converted in young girlhood and joined the Methodist church, where she lived a faithful member until the end. She was a good neighbor, always ready to help those in need and a devoted mother. She leaves to mourn her going, three children, John Neely, Nimrod; Frank Neely, Little Rock; and James Donnell, Danville; four step children, Tallie Donnell, Shark; Elliott Donnell, Conway; Mrs. Jennie Mode, Guy; and Mrs. Ada DeJarnett, Quitman; a sister, Mrs. Lena Rogers, Charleston, Tenn. Twenty five grandchildren and 31 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Macedonia cemetery Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F.M. Tolleson, pastor for the Danville Methodist church. Pall bearers were: Levi Reynolds, Herbert Reynolds, Edd Peeler, Lawson Chambers and J.I. Cowger. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
