Jeffrey Alan Hetland, age 45 of Dardanelle died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 1, 1960 at Webster City, IA to Sharon and Vernon Hetland. He graduated from Ames High School in Ames, IA, attended Arkansas Tech University and UCA in Conway where he received his Masters Degree. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Russellville.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Silas and Beatrice Hetland and an uncle, Rodney Ruhl.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Champion Hetland of Dardanelle; son, Aaron Silas Hetland of Dardanelle; mother and stepfather, Sharon and Lyle Hawkins of Webster City, IA; a half sister, Dawn Hetland of Des Moines, IA; two stepsisters and their husbands, Suzanne and Richard Gatewood of Russellville, Cindy and Michael Farzley of Little Rock; maternal grand-parents, Carl and Gwyn Ruhl of Dardanelle; Uncle David Ruhl and wife Connie of Dardanelle, Uncle Jerry Ruhl of Blairsburg, IA, brother-in-law, Tom Champion and several cousins.

Robert K. Hettinga, age 65, of Dardanelle, AR, died Monday, May 19, 1997 at the University Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a son of the late Reimer and Jennie Sjoerdsma Hettinga and was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. He was a retired administrator of the First Baptist Church, Russellville, a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist, a member of the Board of Director of the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home and a member of the Arkansas Valley Woodcarver's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Hettinga; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall W. and Sheila Hettinga of Danville, AR; one daughter, Melanie Posey of Russellville; three brothers, Roy Hettinga of Jenison, MI; Andrew Hettinga of Hatley, WI and Floyd Hettinga of Grandville, MI; one sister, Emma Dyke of Wyoming, MI; three grandchildren, Zachary Hettinga, T. J. and Luke Posey.
Memorial service was May 22, 1997 at the First Baptist Church of Russellville with Rev. Jack Riley and Rev. Stephen Davis officiating. Graveside service was May 22 at Garden of Memories in Charleston, AR with Rev. Roger Haney and Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Active pallbearers were Wolf Troyke, F. C. Doris Hickey, age 80, passed away November 4, 2009 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was a beautician at Doris Beauty Shop for 50 years. At one time she managed the Dardanelle Country Club. She was a dedicated hardworking business woman that will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, William L. Hickey; her parents, Bill and Jewell Hundley; two brothers, Jack Hundley and Gordon Hundley; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Hickey. Her survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Hickey Jr. of Southlake, TX, Kim and Brenda Hickey of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, JJ and Monica Hickey of Dardanelle, Brooke and Justin Bull of Dardanelle, Ross Michael Hickey of Houston, TX; two great grandchildren, Jett and Scout Bull of Dardanelle; several nieces, nephews and many great friends.

John Ed Hickey, 73, of Centerville died Sunday, December 20, 2009. He was born September 25, 1936 in Bullfrog Valley, AR to the late Noel and Lois Lovelady Hickey.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Hickey; two siblings, Ralph Hickey. of Russellville, Lou Verdell Meadows of Dover; two sons, John Mark and wife, Susie Hickey of Pottsville, Michael and wife, Crystal Hickey of Mt. George; seven grandchildren, John Mark Hickey of Harrman, Gary Hickey of Pottsville, Felicia Hickey of Pottsville, Ashlyn Hickey of Mt. George, Chase Hickey of Mt. George, Haliegh Hickey of Waldron, Liz Romine of Atkins; three great-grandchildren, Abby Hickey of Hartman, Gabe Hickey of Hartman, Kate Harrell of Atkins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carson Hickey of Tacoma, WA; a sister, Norma Ruth Duncan of Tacoma, WA; a stepson, Rob Romine of Dardanelle.
John Ed graduated from Dover High School in 1954. He was a Korean War Veteran, he served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957 and after he was discharged he went to work for the Standard Rendering Plant in Russellville where he quickly learned all aspects of plant maintenance. In 1970, John resigned from Standard Rendering and founded Hickey Maintenance Inc. He started his company as the only employee and grew the organization into a company that at one time had over 100 employees. In 2001 John retired from the plant maintenance business after a very successful 31 years. At that point John then became very active in the cattle and hay business where he worked until his death. John also had a deep love for music and his guitar.

Johnnie Mae Hickey "Bubs" born December 21, 1928, passed away June 9, 2004, at Baylor Medical Center, Garland, Texas where she made her home for the past 33 years. She graduated school in Ola, Arkansas where many friends and relatives still reside.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Don Dixon and Melvin Dixon of Ola; Ted Dixon of Texas; her sisters, Floy Freeman of Texas; Evelyn Gershner and Margarette Dodd of Little Rock and her parents, Melvin Earnest and Marjorie Dixon of Ola. She will be remembered by the people whose lives she touched as a very special lady, always finding good in others.
She is survived by her husband, John Hogan Hickey, her daughter, Marlena Riordan and husband, James; her son John Gordon Hickey and wife, Pamela; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two sisters, Celeste Stewart and Billie Shelton of Texas and one brother, Jim Bill Dixon of Arkansas.

Perry Hickman, age 93, of Danville, AR died Thursday, March 12, 1998 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. He was born July 6, 1904 in Searcy County; he was the son of the late John Amos and Ella Weaver Hickman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Hickman; three sons, Loyd, Wilburn and Johnny Hickman; two daughters, Jewell Frequaita and Evelyn Klober and two brothers, Carl and Henry Hickman.
Survivors include a daughter, Dovie McCallum; a step-son, Bobby Brown of Oklahoma; a sister, Sena Brown of Russellville; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Billie Swilley Hicks, age 80, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Violet Stanley Swilley; four brothers, Chuck Knoye, David Swilley, Dale Swilley and Johnny Swilley; and a sister, Marie Guilda.
Survivors include two daughters, Freda Hicks and Karen Standridge of Dardanelle; two sisters, Frances Fink of Leander, TX, and Rachel Tilmon of Dardanelle; and many nephews, nieces, and lots of special friends.

Jerry Hicks, age 54 of Belleville passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home. He was born August 10, 1955 in Great Bend, KS. to James Earl and Sylvia Dean Clayton Hicks. He was a member of the Ranger Free Will Baptist Church. He was a avid fisherman, hunter and an expert marksman and a straight shooter. He was a current member of the Sunrise Bass Club. He was injured in an industrial accident and became known as "Mr Mom" as he look over the duties of the home and caring for his son and daughter as Cathy continued to work full time as an RN. He attended Medora Grade School. Buhler Grade School and graduated from Buhler High School. He was a certified mechanic. Mary Jane (Pugh) Hicks, of Quitman, Arkansas, went home to her Lord on Sunday morning, March 9, 2008. She was born in Rover, Arkansas on February 4, 1928 to the late Clifford and Faye Pugh and has two brothers Harold Wayne Pugh (Alice) of Orange, California, and Bud Pugh (Jody) of Downey, California.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Robert Dale Hicks and her grandson, Robert Scott Hicks.
She is survived by one son, James (Jim) Franklin Hicks and, wife, Karen and their sons, Justin Hicks, Ryan Hicks and Stephen Hicks of Conway. She is also survived by one daughter Karen Hicks Ward and husband, Jim of Cabot and their children Chris Ward, wife, Ashley and their children Sophie and Caden of Sherwood, Arkansas and Amie (Ward) Simmons, husband, Alan, of Chicago, Illinois.
Jane, known as Nannie to her grandchildren and family was the consummate homemaker. Her home was always neat and organized and there was always something good cooking on the stove. She loved taking care of people and babysitting all the grandchildren as they grew up. Jane enjoyed being outdoors, visiting with her neighbors and taking care of the animals on the farm she and her husband raised prior to his death. She enjoyed her church family at First United Methodist Church at Quitman. Nannie loved to laugh and all her grandchildren will tell you she always met them with open arms, a kiss and a smile. Each one was special to her and she was always there to encourage, listen and love unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by all of us who knew her. Our family would like to thank Woodland Hills Nursing Home and Arkansas Hospice for their care.

Opha Leah Hicks Pearce Chester Hicks, age 79, Lee's Summit, MO passed away, Monday, July 29, 1996 at Lee's Summit Hospital. She was born January 3, 1917, in Danville AR, the eldest daughter of the late Charles G. and Bessie Renfrew Pearce. We attended school at Danville. She was a clerk for Sears Department Store for 30 years. She was a member of the Sears Retirees Club and a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hicks in 1990 and her sister, Opal Marcum in 1993.
Survivors include one son, Donald F. Chester, Musatine, IA; three brothers, Houston Pearce, Modesto, CA, Joseph Pearce, Little Rock and Charles Pearce, Conway, AR; three grandchildren, Sharon Taylor, Mark Chester and Matthew Chester and two great-granddaughters.

She was born in Moore's Chapel community on February 26, 1909, the daughter of the late Ed and Polly Hunt Witt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Moore's Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larkin Hicks and two sisters, Celia Crabtree and Edith Petillo.

Terry Lee Hiett, age 54 of Centerville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1954 to Winston and Berneice Hiett of Witts Spring. He was employed by Bibler Brothers Lumber Company.
He is preceded in death by his father, Winston Hiett and a grandson, Adam Christopher Collins.

Mattie C. Crawford Higgs, age 73, of Blue Mountain, AR died Friday March 29, 2002 at the Paris Health and Rehab. Center. She was born April 21, 1928 in Danville, AR to the late Tom and Lillie Horn Crawford. She was a retired cook for the Danville School District, a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Higgs.
Survivors are, a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Melissa Higgs of Blue Mountain, AR; a daughter, Jeanetta Ewing of Arkansas City, KS; a brother, Billy Crawford of Conway, AR; a sister, Lillie Snow of Benton, AR and three grandsons.
Funeral service was April 2, 2002 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Delton M. Beall officiating. Burial was in Earl Ladd Cemetery at Danville, AR. Dora Lee Highfill, was born on Thursday, August 14, 1902 in Montgomery County, AR to John G. and Mary Ann (Brewer) Copeland. She passed from this life on Saturday, April 22, 1995 at her home in Bixby, OK at the age of 92. She was a longtime resident of Bixby having moved here in May of 1950 from Gravelly, AR. She was a homemaker and member of Shellenbarger Free Will Baptist Church. Her family warmly remembers her many loves and interest such as being a wonderful cook, crocheting, sewing, gardening and flowers of all lands. A special tribute to her life was the fact that every child in the neighborhood lovingly called her "Grandma" regardless of any family relation or not. The delight of her life were the visits from her many friends, neighbors and loved ones.
She married her husband, Loy Highfill in September of 1924 hi Gravelly, AR. In 1974 they celebrated their golden anniversary at their home in Bixby with over 65 family members present including every immediate family member. On December 19, 1983 after 59 years of marriage, Loy preceded Dora in death.
She was also preceded by her parents, two brothers Willie and Fred Coepalnd and one sister, Lola Ammons.
She leaves, three daughters Leah Hogan of North Little Rock, AR, Mary Sams of Bixby and Sue Cheatham of Broken Arrow; three sons, Dalton of Castro Valley, CA, Carlton of Carrollton, TX and Bill of Tulsa; one sister, Hester Oglesbee of Gravelly, AR; one brother, Jeff Copeland of Wenatche, WA; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Garlin Terry Hightower, age 61, of Oklahoma City, OK died Monday, February 12, 2001 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born November 21, 1939 in Lindsey, OK to the late Garland and Heloise Hatfield Hightower. He was an Air Force Veteran and a well tester for Wei-Tex Inc. for twenty five years.
Survivors are six children, Gary Hightower and Sharon Miller both of Mustang, OK, Teri Dyan Ruddell and Buddy Hammer both of Midwest City, OK, Lisa Kay Smith and Sheryl Brawdy both of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Bill Hightower of Lindsey, OK; four sisters, Sylita Dessing and Danna Blanton both of Blanchard, OK, Garlene Holland of Linsey, OK and Barbara Collier of Oklahoma City, OK; 16 grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Mrs. Edna Rose Higman, age 68, of Rover died Sunday January 3, at her home. Mrs. Higman was a native of Missouri, daughter of the late James and Gladys Fowler, and a homemaker.

Robert Hignight, age 54, of Cedar Creek community died Saturday, July 24, 1948 after a long period of illness.

Steve Thomas Hildebrand, age 52, a resident of Los Alamos, NM died Friday, April 6, 2001 at his home. He was born May 17, 1948 at Prescott, AR to Arl and Cleo Wynn Hildebrand. He married Mary Jane Watson on May 27, 1927 at Plainview, AR. He received his Bachelor's in 1970 and his Master's in Physics in 1973 from the University of Arkansas. He completed his Ph. D. in Geophysics from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1993. After working in oil and gas exploration for several companies, he joined the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a seismologist. He was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Geophysical Union. He was a member of the Los Alamos Unitarian Universalist Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Mary Watson Hildebrand of Los Alamos, NM; three; daughters, Melissa Hildebrand of Chicago, IL, Emily Hildebrand of Fayetteville, AR and Katie Hildebrand of Los Alamos, NM; his mother, Cleo Wynn Hildebrand of Prescott, AR. and one brother, Jerry Hildebrand of Texarkana, TX.

Betty Jo Ella Hill, age 69 of Casa, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 30, 1936 in Casa to the late Clyde and Debbie Coates Chancellor. She was a homemaker and a mother and a member of the Church of Christ in Casa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Hill and a brother, Billy Chancellor.
Survivors are her husband, Winton "Bud" Hill; son, Mike Hill of Birta; four daughters, Kathy Sales of Bauxite; Debbie McCutcheon of Harrison; Donna Hall of Lampasas, TX; Janet Hubbard of Perry; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Hill of Perry; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ella Irene Hill, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, has departed this life to join family and friends in the presence of Her Lord on May 12, 2008 at home. Nonie was born on September 24, 1920 at Steve, Arkansas to Jesse Daniel and Pearl Gallion West.
Nonie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Hill, whom she shared 47 years with and daughter Anna Mae Lancaster.
She leaves a son, Danny Hill of Hollis, AR and his wife, Teresa, and son-in-law Othel Lancaster of Hollis, AR. Nonie had seven grandchildren Michael Lancaster of Plainview; Barbara Branch and husband, Mark, of Hollis; Terry Lancaster of Hollis; Melissa Bass and husband, Wade, of Perryville; Wayne Hill and wife, Michelle, of Hollis; Melissa Smith and husband, Frank, of Jonesboro; Mandi Robertson and husband, Zack, of Hot Springs; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Inez and Earl Nix, Louise Crain and Jessie Mae Tucker all of Hot Springs. In addition Nonie had 18 great-grandchildren Justin Lancaster and wife, Amanda, Jamie McEwen and husband, Aaron, Joe Branch & wife, Charlsa, Tony Branch & wife, Jessica, Heath Tyler, Brandy Campbell & husband, Jason, Maddie Bass, Kacey Suit & husband, Nick, Morgan Hill, Shayna Hill, Ashley Sales, Alex Sales, Jessie Hill, Kody Greene, Bradley Smith, Tyler Smith; Blaine Gregory and Daxton Robertson; six great great-grandchildren Brooklyn Ashton Lancaster, Daniel & Wesley Campbell, Alexis Sager and Katie Suit, one great-great granddaughter due in August, plus nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from life.
Nonie was a member of Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hollis, Arkansas where she was a member for 74 years. She loved family and friends. She was most generous to all who knew her, and many she never met. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as genuinely kind, and her especially warm affection for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She had a special ability to provide the right encouragement when it was needed to anyone who was down. Nonie will be missed tremendously; a part of her dwells with all of us who knew her. She told all the grandkids to always trust in the Lord. Nonie was a worker. She helped granddad in the fields and logging, ran the grocery store on 314 in Hollis for 20 years and was also a poultry grower for 15 years. Her favorite job was spoiling and helping raise and babysitting all her little ones (grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren).
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P. M. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Jimmie Scott and Kenny Vosburg officiating. Burial will be in Nooner Cemetery in Steve, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Michael Lancaster, Terry Lancaster, Wayne Hill, Wade Bass, Justin Lancaster and Mark Branch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Branch, Joe Branch, Heath Tyler, Frank Smith, Zack Robertson, Aaron McEwen, Jason Campbell and Jeff McEarl. The family is especially grateful to the care and concern offered by so many - Hospice Home Care, Rita Wilson, Gina Neighbors (her angel), Leah Allison, Brother Jimmie Scott and Mrs. Vera Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. James Humphreys and Staff, Dr. Rajesh Shroff and Staff, Medicine Shoppe-Hot Springs Village, St. Joseph's Heart Unit and the many friends who have called and came to visit, most of all, the prayers.
