Cheryl Jean Lee Burnham, age 47, of Delaware died Sunday, August 8, 2004. She was born January 28, 1957, in Little Rock, AR. She was a member of the Crest View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Denton Ray Lee, and her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, George Burnham of Delaware; two sons, George Burnham, Jr. of Atkins, Phillip Burnham of Delaware; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Daniel Wainwright of Downsville, LA, Allison and Jeremy Rhodes of Delaware; mother, Shirley Ann Lee of Delaware; a brother, Eric Denton Lee of Delaware; three sisters, Twla Susie Lensing of Fort Smith, Paula Vinson of London, Ellen Lee Spivey of Delaware; three grandchildren, Charles Mitchell Wainwright of Downsville, LA, Nadia LaRae Burnham of Dover, Haylee Alexa Rhodes of Delaware.

Funeral service was held on August 12, 2004 at the Delaware First Baptist Church with the Rev. Elton Thomas, Rev. Wiley Jones and Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Internment was at the Graves Cemetery at Delaware. Pallbearers were Marc Campbell, Oscar Brody, Zach Taylor, David Burnham, Pat Schmitz and Murphy Roulston. Burnham, Mamie Lea (Wright)

Mamie Lea Burnham, age 98, of Danville passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born June 11, 1914 in Magazine, AR to the late James Author & Carolina Tennessee Thompson Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of the Danville First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold W. Burnham; brothers, Maynard, Afton, Jimmie & Vadon Wright; sisters, Belle Elkins, Izetta Erp, Carrie McCrary and Edna Mikles.

Funeral services for Charlie Burns, 85, of Waveland, who died at Yell County Hospital in Danville Wednesday, May 17, were Friday at Waveland by the Rev. Don Duvall.

Edward Leroy Burns, aged 19, of Santa Clara, California died in Sunnydale, California, Saturday, June 23rd.

Burns, Fred Clay

Fred Clay Burns was born September 15, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. Burns and Ida Helen Vice Burns of Danville, AR.

Mr. Burns was a graduate of Danville High School. He also attended the American High School in Manila, Philippines while his father was stationed there with the US Department of Agriculture. Following high school, he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, served as president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and graduated with a Degree in Banking and Finance. He also attended the University Of Arkansas School Of Law. After graduating from the University, Mr. Burns continued to help college students over three decades at the Fraternity. For nearly 20 years he was Secretary of the Arkansas XI Corporation which owns and operates the Kappa Sigma Fraternity House in Fayetteville. He was a member of the XI Project 2000 Committee that raised funds to restore the Fraternity House in Fayetteville. Following college, Mr. Burns joined the Arkansas Air National Guard and served on active duty with the United States Air Force stationed in Japan during the Pueblo Crisis. He was associated with the Worthern Bank and Trust Company in Little Rock, AR holding the position of Vice-President and Trust Officer. He subsequently served as Secretary to the Board and Administrative Officer to First Arkansas Bankstock Corporation in Little Rock, AR. Mr. Burns was also Administrative Officer for Meridian Management Corporation of Little Rock prior to joining Chambers Bancshares of Danville, AR where he served as Senior Vice President and as a member of their Executive Committee. Very active in his church, Mr. Burns was currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Danville United Methodist Church for which he received The Distinguished Service Award. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men and served as Chairman of the Church Fundraising Committee. The United Methodist Women awarded Mr. Burns The Special Mission Recognition Pin in honor of his commitment and service. He was an active member of the Joe Ivy Sunday School Class. Mr. Burns was also an active member of the Chamberlyne Country Club, The Danville Lions Club and was a past member of the Country Club in Little Rock.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Burns Garner of Danville, AR; his niece, Carla Deloose of Moline, IL; nephews, Glenn Rose of Terrell, TX; James Rose of Gloucester, VA and Ben Rose of Danville, AR. In addition, he is survived by his two godsons, Lee Maris and Christopher Maris, of Little Rock, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held 10 a. m. Wednesday, January 8th, 2003 at the Danville United Methodist Church in Danville, Arkansas with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Mr. George William Burns, age 88, of Plainview, AR died Tuesday, February 3, 1998 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born December 31, 1909 in Beebe, AR to the late J. D. and Alice Mae Burns. He was a retired employee with Windsor Door Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Burns and a sister, Geraldine Shook.

DANVILLE - Mrs. Lura Hall Burns, age 66, of Danville died Wednesday, March 13, 1985, at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Polly Hall.

Survivors include her husband, Opal Burns; her stepmother, Mrs. Rosie Hall of Dardanelle a brother, Roy Garner of Waldron; a sister, Mrs. Dovie Millard of Illinois, and several nephews and nieces.

Onva Burns, age 93, a resident of Russellville, AR died Monday, June 30, 1997 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville. She was born on January 22, 1904 at Newton County, AR to James and Abby Jane Edgemon Skaggs. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Anderson Burns and preceded in death by three sons, one daughter and four sisters and brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Delia Marie Davis of Wynne, AR, Bertie Catholine Rutherford of Russellville and Trudy Bartlett of Dardanelle, AR; one son, Odell Burns of Centerville; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gold Skaggs of Hagarville, AR and Olin Skaggs; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ople Edward Burns, 87 of Booneville, AR passed away December 14, 2009 in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born July 5, 1922 in Waveland, AR. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Booneville. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing.

He is preceded in death by a son, Edward Burns.

Burnside, Viola (Kendrick)

Services for Viola Burnside will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. She will be laid to rest at Dawes Cemetery following the service. Friends may visit at the funeral home from noon to 8:00 today with the family receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m. Viola passed away at home on Saturday, August 8, 2009, just one day before her 85th birthday. Born in Yell County, Ark. on August 9, 1924 to George Wiley and Mamie (Coker) Kendrick, Viola moved to Oklahoma with her family when she was a child. Born into a musical family, Viola's early years were enriched with the music she heard and participated in at home. Viola and John Burnside married in Claremore, and had a daughter Myrna. In addition to caring for her family, Viola worked outside her home as an assembly worker with Zebco and also as a home health care provider. When time allowed she could be found fishing, gardening, sewing or watching and feeding the birds that visited her yard. She raised cattle and enjoyed horseback riding and watching old Westerns as well. Viola was the glue that held her precious family together. Those who survive include her son, L.C. Headrick of Claremore and two daughters, Myrna Wright and her husband, George, also of Claremore, and January Walker of Collinsville; her sister, Idadell Butler, also of Collinsville; six grandchildren, Jamie McKee and John Evans, Teressa LeMaster and husband, Eric, Chris Walker and wife, Farica, Mike Headrick and wife, Cindy, Jeff Headrick and wife, Chris, and Bobby Walker and wife, Cherity; and ten great grandchildren.

Burris, Patsy Ruth Breashears

Patsy Ruth Breashears Burris was born May 10, 1940 at Dardanelle, AR to Hays and Gladys (Pelt) Breashears. She passed away November 7, 2004 after a 12-year battle with breast cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by one son, Bert and Melissa Burris of Roland, AR; two daughters, Becky Burris and Beth and Victor Thompson of Century, FL; six grandchildren; many aunts, uncles and extended family and cousins.

She graduated from Russellville. High School and attended Arkansas Tech. She lived in Little Rock for 25 years before moving to Florida. She was a charter member of St. James United Methodist Church of Little Rock, Past President of CPA Wives Club of Arkansas, the first volunteer coordinator-director of the Woman's Club of Pensacola and an honorary member of AM Vets Auxiliary post 292. She was a member of the Century United Methodist Church.

Alfred Landon "Doodle" Burrows, age 63 of Havana, AR died Saturday, August 26, 2000 at Sparks Regional Hospital in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born September 5, 1936 in Havana, AR to the late W. L. "Bill" Burrows and Lucy O. Moore Burrows. He was a lifelong resident of Havana, a 1954 graduate of Havana High School, a retired custodian for the Havana School District a member of the Western Yell Co. Ruritan Club and the First Baptist Church of Havana. He was voted Fan of the Year by the Western Yell County School District for the 19992000 School year and was-a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all.

He was preceded in death by other than his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Lucille Rollans and a nephew, Jerry Lynn Rollans, Jr.

Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Mae Lea Rollans Burrows; one son and daughter-in-law, William Lynn "Weasel" Burrows of Havana, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lytle "Bill" and Velta "Punky" Burrows of Ft. He was preceded in death by, his wife, Addie Mae Capes Burrows; three brothers, Rupurt, Bill and Luther Burrows; one sister, Irene Johnson and a half-sister, Betty Jones.

Survivors include, one son, Roy E. Burrows, Bobby Doyle

Bobby Doyle Burrows, age 71, of Benton, AR died on Saturday, January 14, 2006. He was born on February 22, 1934 at Havana, AR to the late John Hubert and Carmen Louise (Sanders) Burrows. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Burrows. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Bryant, a U. S. Navy Veteran, and retired from The Kroger Company after 40 years. He was a past Deacon and Trustee for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ola Mae Burrows, of the home; three daughters, Vickie and Jerry Wallace of Olive Branch, MS, Sherry and Kevin Morrow of Benton, and Tamie and Ken Townsend of Benton; one son, Bobby Doyle II and Christy Burrows, of Ward; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Blondie Burrows of Danville, and Don and Marilyn Burrows of Little Rock; one sister, Juanita Mitchell of Havana, AR, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held January 17, 2006 in the First Pentecostal Church of Bryant with Pastor Jerry Whitley and Bro. Marty Spurlock officiating. Burrows, Bobby Lynn

Bobby Lynn Burrows age 72 of Danville passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Chambers Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. He was born August 23, 1941 in Havana, Arkansas to the late Leon and Jessie Davis Burrows. Bobby served in the U.S. National Guard for 6 years. He delivered propane for 37 years. In 1992, he and his co-owner established a local propane business, S & B Rural Propane, Inc. Bobby lived his life serving the Lord and loved his ministry as a praise and worship song leader, and also served as Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee. He was a member of Danville Assembly of God Church. His devotion to his family, friends, and loyalty to all made him a pillar of his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leon & Jessie Davis Burrows, 2 sisters, Willagene Houtain & Dorothy Owens and a nephew Jimmy Owens.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Frances Ramey Dickey Burrows, son, daughters and son-in-laws, Larry & Lisa Shingleur, Sr. of Pottsville, Tom & Rhonda May of Danville, Sam and Kim Beggs of Hackett, Robert and Mendy Grubbs of Ratcliff, David R. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Austin, Rev. Ron Reddin officiating and Larry Shingleur, Jr., Eulogy. Burial was at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Danville First Baptist Church. Cathleen Vernalou Burrows, age 61 of Havana, died Tuesday September 14, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 8, 1943, in Havana to the late Noel G. and Ocie Durzilla Walker Powell. She retired after seventeen years as a machine operator for Magnetic Industries in Booneville and was a homemaker and mother.

Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Doyle Burrows; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tracy Burrows of Havana; a daughter, Gaylene Burrows of Havana; one sister, Lana Winfree of Gordonsville, TN; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Claudette Marie Burrows, age 66 of Havana, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Baptist Health Care Extended Care Hospital in Little Rock. She was born August 1, 1943 in Danville, AR to Claude and Ova Marie Rutledge Clark. She was a member of the Havana Assembly of God and a loving wife and beloved mother.

She is preceded in death by her father, Claude Clark; son, Vincent Gates; step-son Rodney Burrows; sister, Delores Jean Clark; brother, Johnny Clark.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Carroll Ray Burrows; mother, Ova Dart of Danville; children and spouses, Robert, Jr. and Judy Gates of Germany; Alfred and Paula Gates of Texas, Tim and Sandy Gates of Pottsville; Yuvette and Brett Vannocker of Kansas, Pennie and Tommie Ward of Morrilton, Renee and Levi Risley of Ft. Smith; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lou Ellen (Howard) Burrows, age 90 of Booneville, Arkansas was born February 6, 1918 in Bauxite, Arkansas to Leonard L. and Ota (James) Howard. She passed away February 16, 2008 in Booneville, Arkansas. She was a mother and housewife, a member of the EHC, and the Heritage Addition Church of Christ in Booneville. She and her husband were former owners of the Burrows Grocery Store in Waveland, AR. She enjoyed writing a column in the Yell County Record newspaper for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Burrows; two sons, William Thomas "Barlow" Burrows and Carl Jerome Burrows; three brothers, Lowell Howard, Lloyd Howard and Paisley Howard.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Rogers and husband Charles of Lavaca, AR; Anna Faye Young and husband Gus Young of Booneville, Arkansas; one son, Loyd Lee Burrows of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral service was February 19, 2008 at the Heritage Addition Church of Christ in Booneville, with burial in Havana, Cemetery in Havana, Arkansas under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. She is survived by her children, Sue Taylor, Landon and Mae Burrows, Sharon and Jack Underwood, Janetta and Paul Adair all of Havana; Lytle "Bill" and Velta "Punky" Burrows of Ft. Smith, AR and Rickie and Marilyn Burrows of Charleston, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther "Luke" and Ruby Moore of Citrus Heights, CA and Leon A.
