Benson, Barbara Ann (Hasty)

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord". Joshua 24:15 Barbara Ann Hasty Benson went to be with the Lord November 10, 2010. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Charles and Anna Muriel Hasty. She worked as secretary at Alexandria Senior High School for 30 years, retiring in 2008. A member of Grace Presbyterian Church, she dearly loved her family, four grandchildren, and her many friends and ASH friends and "kids".

She was preceded in death by her father, James Charles Hasty; mother Anna Muriel Hasty, and infant brother, Charles Lee of Ola, Arkansas. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of 49 years, Harvey M. Benson: daughter, Ginger Cook and husband Kevin, of Carthage, Texas; daughter Gayle Mann and husband Brett of Woodworth, Louisiana.

She is also survived by four grandchildren; Katherine "Katy" Cook, Paul Ray Cook, Victoria Gayle Young and Benjamin Charles Young. Officiating were Dr. Bob Vincent, Pastor Kevin Cook and Pastor Ritchey Cable.

Pallbearers were Joe Moreau, Duane Urbina, Calvin Hoge, Stan Hoge, Kevin Cook and Brett Mann. Honorary Pallbearers were Walter Morock, Paul Cook and Benjamin Young. "Unable are the loved to die. Benson, Dorothy Ann (Dexter)

Dorothy Ann Benson, age 72, of Havana, AR passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born August 13, 1939 in Riverhead, NY to the late Joe and Anna Kineski Dexter. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Benson; grandson, Zachary Benson "Zac" Caldwell and sister, Anna Falk.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Ann Caldwell, Bill Benson, Amelia (Tracy) Turley, Grace (Jason) Turley and James (Tori) Benson all of Havana; grandchildren, Robert, Desi and DeeDee Caldwell, Skylar and D.A. Hiatt, Ben Hunt, Ty, Brooklyn, Shelby and Riley Turley; great granddaughter, Zoey Caldwell-Cox; brother, Alex Karas of Chickalah; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bob Beam of NY; nephews and their family and a very special friend, Virginia Harte of NC.

Graveside service was September 8, 2011 at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, AR with Father Pellissier Francois officiating. Bentley, Sibble May

Sibble May Bentley age 77 of Bentley, AR died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Dardanelle hospital. She was born January 7, 1933 at Birta to the late John Irvin and Dollie May Dunn. She was a member of the South New Hope Assembly of God Church and a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Linda Carol Patterson and one brother Joe Dunn.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Donald E. Bentley of Dardanelle, one son Lee Bentley and wife Tricia of Dardanelle, one daughter Lea Ann Hicks and husband Johnny Paul of Centerville, one sister Pauline Mills of Dardanelle, two brothers James Dunn of Paris and Lawrence Dunn of Sacramento, California and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were June 12, 2010, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with John David Keeling, Rev. Norman Chenowith and Rev. C. R. Young officiating. Burial was in Needmore Cemetery in Casa. Bergman, Louis E.

Louis E. Bergman, age 75, well known retired farmer of Plainview, died in his home Saturday night. A native of Illinois, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Surviving relatives include a brother, William Bergman, living in Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

Bernard, Nell Roulston

Nell Roulston Bernard, 80, of Delaware, Arkansas died Sunday, June 8,1997, in the Dardanelle Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Roulston and Hannah Wurst. Born Feb. 7, 1917 in Logan County.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Pockrus of Delaware; one son Billy Ken Barnard of Gary, Indiana.

Services will be on Thursday, June 12 at the First Baptist Church in Delaware with internment at Graves Cemetery by Rev. Mark Lashley. Berry, Bessie (Moudy)

Bessie Berry was born April 18, 1932, in Danville, Arkansas, entered eternal life November 18, 2010, in Lancaster, CA. She grew up and went to school in Delano, CA. Worked as a bookkeeper for family business, Delano Auto Parts, and Caratan Farms. Bessie moved to Mojave, CA in 1973 where she worked at Bank of America and Santa Barbara Savings. Preceded in death by husband, Don Berry; parents, Eugene Moudy, Lavada Moudy Horton; stepfather, Lester Horton; and sister, Laquita Parker.

Survived by children, Donna (Rick) Scott of Mojave, Phillip (Donna) Berry of Bakersfield, and Dennis (Loretta) Berry of Quartz Hill; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.

Berry, Betty Deaton

Betty Deaton Berry, age 65 of Casa, AR died Friday, December 1, 2000 at her home. She was a daughter of the late William Franklin and Lena Mae Clark Deaton, born May 19, 1935 at Clarendon. She was retired from the University of Memphis and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casa.

Survivors include her husband Frank Berry; a son, Michael Gordon Berry of Collierville, TN; a daughter, Sharon Berry Shelton of Bartlett, TN; three brothers, W. F. Deaton of Swansboro, NM, Eugene Laxson of Rogers and Billy Jo Samuel of Pea Ridge; and three grandchildren.

Berry, Billy K. "Bill"

Billy K. Berry, age 87, of Dardanelle died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born November 3, 1924 at Dover, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Floyd Ellis Berry and the late Ruth Susie Eudy Berry.

As patriarch of the Berry and Eudy Clans, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Allen Berry, who died in 1969, a brother, Jack Ellis Berry and a sister, Bernice Hottinger. He was a graduate of Dover High School. During WWII, Bill's B17 was shot down and he was injured on his second mission, but went on to complete 35 bombing missions over Germany. After the war, he earned an associate of Arts Degree from Arkansas Polytechnic College (now ATU) and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He began his career a pharmacist and store manager for Walgreens before coming to Dardanelle in 1957 where he started Berry Drug Store. Berry Drug very quickly became a household name and a meeting place in the area. He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lorayne Bacus Berry; two sons, Dr. William Lewis Berry (Donna) of Danville and Dr. Bruce Ellis Berry (Kim) of Greenville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Will Berry and Anne Goemeer (Lee) of Russellville, Phil Berry (Heather) of Little Rock, Laurie Berry, Mattie Berry, Tim Berry and David Berry all of Danville, B.J., Harrison, Kayla and Laura Berry all of Greenville, Tennessee ancf numerous nephews and nieces.

Berry, David

An Ola man, David Berry, 26, was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 10 between Danville and Ola as the driver was apparently returning home from working at a poultry plant in Danville. A passerby saw a reflection as they were driving by the scene about 1:15 p. m. on Tuesday and found the vehicle which was a considerable distance on the north side of the highway near the railroad tracks.

Apparently Berry lost control of his vehicle sometime during Monday night when the accident occurred. Deputy Coroner Tisha Radcliff pronounced Berry dead at the scene. The vehicle struck between two trees near the Rocking Chair Ranch west of Ola. State Trooper Brenda Gibbons investigated the accident. Yell County Sheriff Detective Mickey Barefield and Deputy Sheriff Dolan Sharp assisted at the scene. Dwayne Franklin Berry, 60, of Greenville, TX, died Friday afternoon, May 23, 2014. He was born on November 24,1953 in Gladewater, Texas, to Doyle Franklin Berry and Thelma Nelms Berry. Dwayne was a carpenter by craft, and spent his days fishing, writing music, and helping others. He was a member of Dixon Baptist Church in Greenville.

Eva Jean Roulston Berry, age 80, of Delaware died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Saint Mary's Regional medical Center. She was born November 16, 1931 at River Mountain, AR to the late James Everett and Julia Ethelyn Wurst Roulston. She was a member of the Dardanelle missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening and taking care of flowers, she loved arts and crafts. One of her greatest accomplishments was that she whittled a fiddle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Sherman Roulston; one granddaughter, Amanda Berry.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Joe Berry; four children, Darrell and wife Evelyn, Dennis Berry, Donna Eubanks and husband Ken, Doreen Swatzel and husband John all of Delaware; one sister, Iva Hardin of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Aaron Swatzel and Wendy Anderson of Delaware, Ryan Swatzel and wife Stephanie of Subiaco, Kristin Turnbow and husband Barry of Centerville, Angie Wallis and husband Shayne of Atkins, Ashley Jones of Delaware, Jennifer Berry of Russellville; seven great grandchildren.

Berry, Garry Norris

Gary Norris Berry, 56, of North Little Rock, passed away Monday October 15 2012. He was an alderman for Ward 3, North Little Rock City Council for two terms. Gary was amember of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock, an avid hunter and gun collector. He loved to fish and coach baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharon Berry; sons Christopher Norris Berry and Garrett Spencer Berry all of North Little Rock; Grandchildren Kaitlyn Michelle Berry and Allen Michael Berry;sister Debbie Krueger(Jeryl) of Little Rock; and five nieces.

Berry, Lorayne (Bachus)

Lorayne Bachus Berry, age 87, widow of Billy K. Berry, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 22, at her home. She was born in Russellville, Arkansas, April 26, 1926, the daughter of the late James Louis Bachus and the late Lois Johnson Bachus. She was the co-owner, with her late husband , of Berry Drug Store in Dardanelle. Even though she worked side by side with her husband in building a business, she kept the most important thing, the most important thing. She was a world class, wife, mother, and grandmother. You couldn't be around Ma and not feel her genuine, nurturing love.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allen Berry, four sisters, Betty McCutchen, Dorothy McCarthy, Virginia Barker, Joyce Wilcox, and one brother, James "Bud" Bachus.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, William Louis Berry, M.D. and Donna of Danville, Arkansas, and Bruce Ellis Berry, M.D. and Kim of Greeneville, Tennessee, grandchildren, Will (Malorie) Berry, Anne (Lee) Goemmer, Phil (Heather) Berry, Laurie, Mattie, Tim, and David Berry, Bruce Jr.. Donald Ray Best III "Bubbs" age 5 months became an angel on Sunday, November 20, 2016. He was born June 21, 2016 at Little Rock to Tameran Bagby and Donald Ray Best Jr. The family of baby Donald would like to thank each and every one of you for the prayers! We are so grateful for each of you. Although baby Donald was on this earth for a short time, we still thank God for blessing us with the time that he did.

Cleetis F. Bewley, age 75, of Russellville, AR died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. The son of Lonnie and Vonnie Whorton Bewley, he was born September 15, 1932 in London, AR. He was a United States Army Veteran. He attended the Centerville Assembly of God Church where he played his guitar and sang every Sunday.

Bewley, Steve Copeland

Steve Copeland Bewley, age 74, of Danville, AR died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born September 12, 1925 in London, Pope County, AR to the late Willie E. and Jane I. Vinson Bewley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, a 32nd Degree Mason, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Yell County Rodeo & Riding Club and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a long time businessman in both Yell and Pope Counties starting in the food business as a butcher after his service in WWII in California. He moved to Arkansas in 1959, and introduced self-service meat packaging to the River Valley working with Millsap's Foodliner, and A-One Super Markets in Russellville, in 1960 he opened Sav-A-Sum Market in Dardanelle and Sav-A-Sum Market in Atkins, then merging with Valley Food Markets, Valley Tractor and Implement Company in Russellville, and in 1965 moved to Danville and re-opened the Sav-A-Sum Market in Danville and in 1977 he also started Steve's Western Wear in Danville and then moved his Western Store to Russellville and in 1979 he purchased the Otasco Store in Danville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Zawislak.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lahoma Malone Bewley; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Phyllis Bewley of Danville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ronnie Spears of Danville and Kay and Gary Beasley of Booneville, AR; one sister, Florene McClarren of Clovis, NM; six grandchildren Shane Bewley of Russellville, AR, Terry Wayne Bewley of Hot Springs, AR; Christie Spears Davis, Scott Spears, Nichole Bewley Rivers and Misty Bewley all of Danville, AR; six great-grandchildren, Haley Bewley of Havana, AR, Colt and Kailey Davis and Raychel Spears all of Danville, AR, Josh Copeland and Tyler Bewley both of Hot Springs, AR and Luke Bewley of Russellville, AR.

Services were Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Terry Wayne Bewley and Rev. E. O. Tackett officiating. A eulogy was given by Butch Watts. Irene Bibler, 90, a resident of Russellville passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1915, at Scottsville to James Madison and Eula Belle Hale Danley. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ewing Bibler; four brothers, Cletus, Kirby, Hale, and Shannon Danley.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Hawkins of Russellville; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, John Ben and Dee Hawkins of Russellville; two great grandchildren, Anna Marissa and Matthew Hawkins; a step-great granddaughter, Lindsey Cantwell; and two step-great-great grandchildren, Sam and Hannah Lackey.

Funeral service was June 13, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Cheatham and the Rev. David Bond officiating. Burial was in the Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Fowler Bice, and a daughter, Mary Virginia Mayben.
