Lillian Dell Buffington, age 79 of Blue Mountain, AR died January 23, 2001 at the Booneville Hospital. She was a member of the Blue Mtn. Assembly of God, Church.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, Bennie Buffington.
She is survived by two sisters, Goldia Phelps of Blue Mountain, AR and Mirtia McCallister of San Jose, CA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Cecil Lee Buford was born at Briggsville, Ark. August 30, 1897 and passed away at Little Rock January 21, 1948 at the age of 50. He was married to Miss Mica Cathey of Briggsville in 1925.

Mr. Cecil Lee Buford, age 50, of Briggsville, a prominent and respected citizen of Fourche Valley, died Wednesday of last week at the Baptist State hospital in Little Rock. He was a lifetime resident of Briggsville where he has served as postmaster for the past 12 years. He was active in civic affairs and has served on the school board for the past 20 years. He was also for several years a member of the Yell County Board of Education.
Surviving relatives include his wife, formerly Miss Mica Cathey; one son, Cecil Lynn Buford of Briggsville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Buford, of Briggsville; one brother, Bob Buford of Briggsville; and five sisters, Mrs. O. L. Cook, of North Little Rock, Mrs. C. N. Elliott of Parks, Mrs. J. R. Humphreys of El Dorado, Mrs. J. P. Briggs and Miss Selma Buford, of Briggsville.

Cecil Lynn Buford, age 74, of Briggsville died Thursday, February 7, 2002, in North Little Rock. He was the son of the late Cecil Lee and Mica Mae Cathey Buford. He was born July 30, 1927, at Briggsville. He was a lifelong resident of Briggsville, and was married to Grace Womack Buford for 47 1/2 years until her death on January 19, 1999. He was a tree farmer, and was a member of the Briggsville Methodist Church and the Bluffton Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his son, Joe Lee Buford, M. D. of North Little Rock.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 1:00 p. m. at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Royce Savage and Rev. Hulon Wiser officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Briggsville, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers were Buddy Ray, Mike Rhoden, Ernie Alonzo, Keith Briggs, Maxie Mathis and Nickey Cathey. Dale Buford, age 88, of Danville, died Monday, January 20, 2003 at Mitchell Nursing Home. He was born December 14, 1914 at Briggsville and was a son of the late Charlie I. and Mary Rebecca McBride Buford. He was an auditor for the Internal Revenue Agency and a member of the Gadsen, Alabama United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose L. Buford.
Survivors include a brother and two sisters-in-law, Ted and Eulene Buford of Briggsville and Lela Mae Geiger of Bluffton; several nieces and nephews. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Dortha Robinson Buford, 82, of Dardanelle, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The daughter of Herbert and Ida Mae Crowder Shelton, she was born September 5, 1926 in Plainview. She was a long time member of the Ola Study Club and a member of Ola United, Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children Dr. Tom D. Robinson and her second husband Bill Buford; one sister Martha Nelle Willis.
Survivors include three children, Jeff & Brenda Robinson of Edmond, OK, Patrick Robinson of Dallas, TX and Julie & Keith Stokes of Dardanelle; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one brother, Herbert Shelton, Jr. of Waxahachie, TX.

Grace Buford, age 71, of Briggsville, AR. died Tuesday, January 19, 1999 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Little Rock, AR. A daughter of the late Joel and Ola Anderson Womack, she was born November 10, 1927 at Amity, AR. She attended Henderson State College in Arkadelphia where she received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in home economics. She taught home economics for forty years which included five years at the Fourche Valley School in Briggsville, AR. and thirty-three years at the Plainview-Rover School in Plainview. She attended the Bluffton United Methodist Church. She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gravelly Chapter 580 and was a founding member and past president of the Yell County Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was also a member of the Yell County Retired Teachers Association, the Danville Music Club and was on the board of directors of the Yell County Special Services School.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Lynn Buford; a son, Joe Lee Buford, MD of North Little Rock; four sisters, Jo Ray of Murfreesboro, Ola Mae Garner of Texarkana, TX, Eupha Watson of Nashville, AR. and Mary Lou White of Kirby, AR.

Miss Jessie Buford, age 94, of Danville, AR (formerly of Hot Springs, AR) died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, AR. She was a daughter of the late Charlie T. and Mary Rebecca McBride Buford, she was born January 12, 1904 at Wing, AR. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Methodist Church in Hot Springs, AR. She taught grades 1 thru 12 for many different school systems in Arkansas for 47 years, until her retirement in 1969, as head librarian for the Sheridan School District. She was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teacher's Association for many years serving numerous positions on the state level.
She is survived by two brothers, Ted and Eulene Buford of Briggsville, AR and Dale Buford of Danville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy Lee Buford, age 59, of McGehee, AR, a farmer and a native of Yell County, died Tuesday, June 4 at McGehee-Desha County Hospital. He was born November 2, 1936 to Lee and Effie Hill Buford. He was a member of the board of directors of McGehee Bank and Lake Village Seed, chairman of the advisory committee of the Agricultural Youth Apprentice program and a deacon at First Baptist Church at McGehee. His family was Desha County Farm Family of the Year.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Johnson Buford; a son, Alan Buford of McGehee; three daughters, Lynda Ovaert of Dallas, Diane Rogers of Wichita, KS and Paula Gill of North Little Rock; a brother, Bill Buford of Sheridan and four grandchildren.

She was a retired psychiatric technician, having worked for the Camarillo (California) State Hospital for 20 years. She was a charter member of the Gravelly Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Club in Russellville and a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

Ted R. Buford, age 94, of Briggsville, AR, died Friday, February 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, in Russellville. He was born May 1, 1912, at Briggsville, to the late Charlie Tolbert and Mary Rebecca McBride Buford. He worked in construction and was a logger. He was a member of the Briggsville Methodist Church, a United States Army Veteran of World War II, Patton's 3rd Armored Division, serving during the Battle of the Bulge and Siegfried Line Campaigns. He was a member of the Fourche Valley School Board and the Briggsville Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Danny F. and Allen R. Buford; three brothers, Bennie Edgar, Bill and Dale Buford; and three sisters, Dona, Johnnie and Jessie Buford.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Eulene Buford; a daughter and son-in-law, Monette and Tommy Hicks of Uniontown, AR; and a grandson and his wife, David and Deanna Lambert of Van Buren and a grandson Daniel Hicks of Ft. Smith.

Dr. Lelon John Bull, age 84, who retired in 1983 from a 13-year medical practice in Plainview, died last Wednesday, May 24, 1995 at his home in Yucaipa, California. His wife Lois was at his side at his death. Dr. Bull and Mrs. Bull, who was a nurse, had been in medical practice at the time of their retirement for 29 years. Before coming to Plainview he worked at Tempe, Arizona. Dr. Bull was born on July 27, 1910, in Aplin, Arkansas, the fifth of nine children of John Foster and Maggie Nola Bull. He graduated from Madison Academy, Tennessee, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and his Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1953.
He met Lois McCurry in 1928, and they were married in Perry, Arkansas, on December 19, 1934. The Bulls had four daughters, Betty J. Cooper, Peggy M. Browne, and Marie M. Larsen, all of California, and Carol Ann Driver of Arizona. Dr. Bull practiced Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, for 18 years, where he was on the Board of the Tempe Elementary School. Raymond Bull, age 77 of Amarillo, died July 1, 2006. He was born in Belleville on September 22, 1928 to the late Alfred and Maudie Black Bull. He was retired from the State of Arkansas Payroll and Distribution Department. He was the lead singer of "The Believers" Gospel Group in Booneville, a member of Singing Men of Texas. He was a fifty year mason, became an ordained minister in 2002, a member of South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo, and active in the Prison Ministry in Arkansas as well as Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Bull; children, Ramona Jean Thompson, Michael David Bull and wife Tammy of North Little Rock; step-daughters Debbie Gillespie, Sharon McLaughlin, and Betty Collins; sister, Ruby Dugger; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo. Masonic graveside services were held on Friday, at Russell Cemetery in Belleville. Anna Keeton Howell Bullock, age 95, of Dardanelle died Thursday, December 5, 2002 at a St. Edwards Hospital in Ft. Smith. She was born May 6, 1907 in Dardanelle, Arkansas; she was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Love Howell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Bullock, Sr. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, a lifetime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Colonial Dames.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Thomas L. Bullock, Jr. of Little Rock, and Judge William R. Bullock, Sr. and wife, Barbara of Dardanelle; a daughter, Mary Gale Barnes and husband, Dr. James Robert Barnes of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, William R. Mrs. Lucille Lusby Bumgarner, age 86, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, May 4, 1986, at the Dardanelle Hospital. Mrs. Bumgarner was a native of Dardanelle, a retired secretary, the daughter of the late Morgan and Audie Callans Lusby. Mrs. Bumgarner was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, San T. Bumgarner, three brothers, Dubert Lusby of Dardanelle, Cortney Lusby and Paul Lusby both of Tulsa, Okla.

Bryan Charles Burchard, age 64, of Delaware died Sunday at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 5, 1937 in Rochester, New York.
