Bewley, Steve Copeland

Steve Copeland Bewley, age 74, of Danville, AR died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born September 12, 1925 in London, Pope County, AR to the late Willie E. and Jane I. Vinson Bewley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, a 32nd Degree Mason, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Yell County Rodeo & Riding Club and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a long time businessman in both Yell and Pope Counties starting in the food business as a butcher after his service in WWII in California. He moved to Arkansas in 1959, and introduced self-service meat packaging to the River Valley working with Millsap's Foodliner, and A-One Super Markets in Russellville, in 1960 he opened Sav-A-Sum Market in Dardanelle and Sav-A-Sum Market in Atkins, then merging with Valley Food Markets, Valley Tractor and Implement Company in Russellville, and in 1965 moved to Danville and re-opened the Sav-A-Sum Market in Danville and in 1977 he also started Steve's Western Wear in Danville and then moved his Western Store to Russellville and in 1979 he purchased the Otasco Store in Danville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Zawislak.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lahoma Malone Bewley; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Phyllis Bewley of Danville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ronnie Spears of Danville and Kay and Gary Beasley of Booneville, AR; one sister, Florene McClarren of Clovis, NM; six grandchildren Shane Bewley of Russellville, AR, Terry Wayne Bewley of Hot Springs, AR; Christie Spears Davis, Scott Spears, Nichole Bewley Rivers and Misty Bewley all of Danville, AR; six great-grandchildren, Haley Bewley of Havana, AR, Colt and Kailey Davis and Raychel Spears all of Danville, AR, Josh Copeland and Tyler Bewley both of Hot Springs, AR and Luke Bewley of Russellville, AR.

Services were Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Terry Wayne Bewley and Rev. E. O. Tackett officiating. A eulogy was given by Butch Watts. Interment was in Earl Ladd Cemetery, Danville. Pallbearers were, Shane and Terry Wayne Bewley, Scott Spears, David Davis, Butch Watts and Gene Johnston. Bibler, Irene

Irene Bibler, 90, a resident of Russellville passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1915, at Scottsville to James Madison and Eula Belle Hale Danley. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ewing Bibler; four brothers, Cletus, Kirby, Hale, and Shannon Danley.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Hawkins of Russellville; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, John Ben and Dee Hawkins of Russellville; two great grandchildren, Anna Marissa and Matthew Hawkins; a step-great granddaughter, Lindsey Cantwell; and two step-great-great grandchildren, Sam and Hannah Lackey.

Funeral service was June 13, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Cheatham and the Rev. David Bond officiating. Burial was in the Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers were Jerry Dean, Rickey George, Brent Boland, Danny Barnhouse, Jeremy Hale Partin and David Michael Bibler. Honorary were Rev. Mrs. Helen Jane Bice, wife of James Bice, passed away at Mrs. G. C. Lewis's home at Ranger on June 6th, 1949 at the age of 77.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Mrs. G. C. Lewis; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Le Wright, Holdenville, Okla. Lottie Conner, Bristow, Okla. Bice, Jesse

The Rev. Jesse Lee Bice, 84, of Danville, a retired minister and carpenter, died Sunday, February 4, at Yell County Nursing Home at Ola. Born at Midell Okla. to William Barney and Alley Pence Bice, he was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Fowler Bice, and a daughter, Mary Virginia Mayben.

Survivors include three sons, Billy and Dale Bice of Danville, and Rickey Bice of Waldron; three daughters, Mildred Ramey and Eula Mae Rose of Ola, and Wanda McHale of Saint Charles Mo.; three brothers, Ralph and William Marion Bice of Saint Louis, and Bobby Bice of Missouri; two sisters, Wilma Thacker of Maplewood, Mo., and Norma Bice of Louann; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Loyd Dale Bice, age 71, of Danville died Sunday, February 27, 2011 in Russellville. He was born January 4, 1940 at Danville to the late Jesse and Vera Fowler Bice. He was a member of the Chalybeate Springs Church in Danville and Boiler makers Local 1510.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Mayben, Wanda McHale and Eloise Barnet.

Bice, Noma

Noma Bice, died November 22, 1999 in the home of her daughter, Linda and her husband, Jack Newberry in Ballwin, MO. She was born June 2, 1923 in Danville, AR to Barney and Virginia Pence Bice. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Camden, AR. She loved her family, her church and her many friends. She was a graduate of Danville High School, owned and operated her own business for 25 years. She was what was called a free spirit. She enjoyed life; one of her last wishes was to fly over St. Louis in a small plane. A friend of hers owned a plane, was a pilot. He flew her over the city or St. Louis she had a great time. She loved time spent with her two brothers, Ralph and Bill Bice fishing on the beautiful Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. They talked about their life growing up together and fought over who caught the biggest fish. They had a great time just being together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two brothers, Rev. Jesse Bice of Danville, AR and Eddie Bice of Carbondale, IL; two sisters, Pearl Gregory of Tracy, Ca and Ruby Pate of Belleville, IL.

She is survived by, three daughters, Norma Sue Bischel of CA, Linda and husband Jack Newbury of Ballwin, MO, Judy and husband, Rev. Tommy Thompson of Mena, AR; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Bice, Warson Woods, MO, Bill and Velma Bice of St. Charles, MO and Bob and Maxine Bice of Cedar Hills, MO; one sister, Wilma Thacker of Maplewood, MO and nephews, nieces and many friends.

Bice, Ona Faye Massey

Ona Faye Massey Bice, age 78 passed away June 7, 1999. She was born in Danville, AR, December 20, 1920, daughter of Claude and Carrie Massey. For several years Faye owned and operated a beauty salon in Rock Hill, MO but most of all she was a mother and a homemaker. Her door was always open to family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ernest Massey and his wife Reetha, her twin, Opal Ray Massey and Boyd Massey; one nephew, Danny Massey; one sister, Virginia Whitecotton and husband, Grady.

She was the loving wife of Ralph W. Bice for sixty-two years and dear mother to, Harold R. Bice and Sandra Faye Bice; grandmother of Scott Bice, Mark Stampehl, Steven Stampehl, Cindy Bice and Tracy Bice; great-grandmother to Christina, Crystal and Jesse; one sister, Doris Koury of Ballwin, MO; sisters-in-law, Hazel Massey, Brentwood, MO, Ruby Floyd of Ola, AR, Noma Bice, Wilma Bice Thacker, Bill and Velma Bice, Bob and Maxine Bice all of Missouri.

Funeral service was held at Schrader Funeral Home, Manchester Rd. Burial was in Bellevue Heritage Gardens on June 10th. Bice, Ralph W.

Ralph W. Bice passed away, December 14, 1999 in his home in Warson Woods, MO. He was born October 31st, 1916 in a small community called Stafford, AR (now Spring Lake) to Barney and Virginia Pence Bice. He was married to Faye Massey in March 1937 who preceded him in death June 1999. He served in World War II in France and Germany, was a police officer in Rock Hill, MO for 23 years, member of the Lions Club in Rock Hill and a Mason. He and his family founded CDA (Central District Alarms Company). The company provided service to residents and commercial properties in several states. He retired in the mid-90s as president of the company but continued as chairman of the board until his death. He loved hunting and fishing with his brother, Bill and his sister, Noma, probably having fished every lake in the beautiful state of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, Rev. Jesse Bice of Danville, AR and Eddie Bice of Illinois; three sisters, Pearl Gregory of California, Ruby Pate of Illinois and Noma Bice of Ballwin, MO.

He is survived by, one son, Harold W. Bice; one daughter, Sandra Bice; three grandsons, Scott Bice and Mark and Steven Stampehl; one great grandson, Jessie Bice; two granddaughters, Cendy and Tracy; two great granddaughters, Christena and Crystal; one sister, Wilma Thacker; two brothers, Bill and Velma of St. Charles, MO and Bob and Maxine of Cedar Hill, MO.

Mrs. Vera Fowler Bice, 80, of Danville died Wednesday, February 2, at her home. She is the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mary Pledger Fowler and a member of the Cleaybeate Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jessie Bice of Yell County Nursing Home at Ola; three sons, Billy Bice of Danville, Dale Bice Sr. of Danville and Rickey Bice of Waldron; three daughters, Mildred Ramey of Ola, Eula Mae Rose of Ola and Wanda McHale of Saint Charles, Mo., 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Bice, William M.

William M. Bice passed away, January 12, 2001 in St. Joseph Hospital at St. Charles, MO. He was born November 19, 1918 in a small community called Stafford, AR (now Spring Lake) a son of Barney and Virginia (Pence) Bice. He was a veteran of WWII, enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1942, trained at Great Lakes, IL and was home December 1945 - war ended. He retired after many years as Supervisor of St. Louis City Water Department. After retiring Bill and his wife traveled the United States. He loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harvester, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brother, Rev. Jesse Bice, Ralph Bice and Eddie Bice Jr.; three sisters, Pearl Gregory, Ruby Pate and Noma Bice.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Velma (McLaughlin) Bice; a son, Dennis and Joann Bice of Fenton, MO; two daughters, Judy and Burns Winters, St. Peters, MO and Kathy and Chris Venverlough of Oakville, MO; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Bob and Maxine Bice; one sister Wilma Thacker; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bieber, John David

John David Bieber, age 77, of Dardanelle died February 25, 2010 in a Hot Springs hospital. He was born December 16, 1932 in Hawthorne, NJ to John W. Bieber and Margaret Knoener Bieber. Mr. Bieber retired from the U. S. Army and then worked as an ROTC instructor for Dardanelle Public Schools until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Mullen Bieber of Dardanelle; two sons, Michael Lee Bieber of North Little Rock and Duane Christopher Bieber and wife, Teresa, of Mustang, OK; two brothers, Kenneth and George Bieber both of NJ; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Jeremy, Corey and Casey.

Biggerstaff, Terry Lamont

Terry Lamont Biggerstaff of Blue Ball, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, September 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Terry was born March 4, 1951 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Homer Romane and Wilma (Grantham) Biggerstaff. Terry was 61 years, 6 months, and 10 days old. Terry was a member of the Tatetown Community Church. Terry was a U.S Marine Veteran. His hobbies included deer hunting, fishing and gardening. Terry could make plants grow on rocks. But, above all Terry loved his family, most of all his grandchildren. Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Patsy (Millard) of the home; seven children, Amanda Biggerstaff of Van Buren, Arkansas, George "Clay" Mitchell of Lavaca, Arkansas, Katherine Mitchell Morton of Bentonville, Arkansas, James Mitchell of Marlow, Oklahoma, Tanya Johnson of Vian, Oklahoma, Terry Charles Biggerstaff of Vian, Oklahoma, Fred Bowen Jr. of Cedarville, Arkansas; and 8 grandchildren.

Terry is also survived by two brothers, Sammy Biggerstaff, Robert Tindall; and his extended family, Terry Griffis, Tim Arnold, Tracy Miller, Trina Bickford, Tammy Hibbard, Travis Arnold; 13 extended grandchildren; 11 extended great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Wilma Biggerstaff; his first wife, Mi Ling Biggerstaff, one son, Terry Eng; and an infant daughter; one sister Cricket Tindall; and two brothers, Jackie Tindall and Billy Biggerstaff. Terry's life celebration was September 17, 2012 at theTatetown Community Church with Rev. John Hale and Rev. James Mitchell, officiating.

Interment was in the Hunt Cemetery in the Tatetown Community. Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Terry's pallbearers were Keith Biggerstaff, Stephen Biggerstaff, David Bowen, Amanda Bigger- staff, Michelle Mitchell, and Tommy Joe Griffis. Biggs, Anna Gale

Anna Gale Biggs, 93, of Granbury, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Mrs. Biggs was born May 16, 1920 in Danville, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Graveside services will be held by the family at Wetumka, Oklahoma. She was married in 1940 to Murl Biggs. They lived on a farm outside of Wetumka, Oklahoma before moving to Texas in the late 40's where she worked as a nurse. She was the last survivor of 7 children who grew up on a farm in southern Oklahoma to parents who taught school. She moved from Oklahoma in 1994 to Midland, Texas to be closer to her sons.

Anna Joyce Littleton Walker Biggs age 91 left this earth May 29, 2014 at Chamber's Hospital. She was born November 4, 1922 in Ratcliff, Arkansas to the late Sid & Myrtle Capps Littleton. Preceded in death by her parents, father of her children Opal "Doc" Walker, her second husband Earl Biggs, son Doyle Walker, grandson Mark Walker, sisters; Sally Bledsaw, twin Susan Flowers, brothers Elmer Clack, Olen Littleton, and Albert "Doc" Littleton.

She is survived by 4 daughters; Patsy (Mike) Eden of Belleville, Freeda Mashburn of Mount George, Hazel Burnett of Dardanelle, Sherry (James) Metcalf of Briggsville. She is also survived by 13 grandkids; Marty Hawkins, Nada Morrison, Carla Reddin, Gina Ellis, Mitchell Walker, Janice Watts, Rhonda Ridenour, Brad Burnett, Erin Burnett, Brent Burnett, Nick Metcalf, Robin Spears along with 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eva Jo Lenna Biggs, age 72, of Plainview, AR died Monday, August 29, 2005. She was born in Bondurant, IA on August 27, 1933 to the late Raymond and Cora Catron Peercy. She retired from Wayne Poultry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Biggs.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Janie Phaup of Danville, AR, Steve and Anna Phaup of Ola, AR, Donald and Carla Biggs of Moreland, AR, Thomas Biggs and David Biggs and Peggy Robinson all of Plainview, AR sisters, Lucille Jones, Kilduff, IA and Mary Higedon of St. Louis, MO nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Service will be Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Faith Church in Dardanelle with Rev. David Jay and Rev. W.A. Gorman officiating. Frances Earl Biggs, age 57, of Plainview, died Monday afternoon, March 25, at the Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Biggs was a native of Whitney, Texas, a retired truckdriver, the son of the late William and Lavada Thompson Biggs and a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Littleton Biggs; one son, Billy Biggs of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Frakie of Denver, Colo, and Mrs. Janet Shelly of Sevierville, Tenn.; one step son, Doyle Walker of Grady, and four step daughters, Mrs. Patsy Island of Centerville, Mrs. Freda Mashburn of Mt. George, Mrs. Hazel Burnett of Ola and Sherry Walker of the home; two brothers, Doyle Vestal of Jacksonville, TX and Euel Biggs of Irvin, TX; one sister, Mrs. Mable Baker of White House, TX; four grandchildren, and 10 step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ken Reese officiating. Interment was at the Carter Cove Cemetery. Mrs. Martha Ann Biggs, age 100 of Havana died Sunday at a hospital in Danville. She was born in Logan County and was a Primitive Baptist.

Her survivors include four daughters, Miss Lorna Biggs of Jacksonville, Mrs. Cora Shott and Mrs. Bertha Baker of Havana, and Mrs. Clara Shott of Waveland; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lizzie Woolber of California; one stepson, Will Biggs of Oklahoma; one brother, Henry Beam of Memphis; one sister, Ellen Whitehouse of Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Michael Terrell Biggs, 76, of Dardanelle, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 29, 2015, at St Mary's Hospital. Michael was born December 18, 1939 in San Antonio Texas. He was a member of the Crossbridge Church in Russellville, AR. At a very young age he had to learn to survive on his own. He grew into a strong man, hardened by a cruel and unjust world. He never gave up and he never quit. He lived a thousand lives in his lifetime. He was a man of vision. A true survivor. Today, he is dancing in heaven without pain, anger, worries, or regrets. We were lucky to call him dad. He will truly be missed.

He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 23 years, Amelia Biggs. A son, Jamie Travis of San Antonio, Texas. A daughter, Wendee and Daryl Doty of Mesquite Texas. Two step daughters, Gwen and Mark Moore of Belleville, AR. Patricia and Steve Goocher of Dardanelle, AR. Several grand children. William Charlie "Bill" Biggs, age 77 of Gravelly died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home in Gravelly. He was born November 3, 1932 in Casa to the late Nathan and Dovie Stover Biggs. He was a retired cattle and poultry farmer.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Biggs.

Bilant, Todd "Toddy"

Todd "Toddy" Bilant, 54, of Danville, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Little Rock. He was born October 29, 1957, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Tom and Martha Bilant. He was retired from the United States Navy, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a son, Johnathan Bilant of Danville; a daughter, Jessica Bilant and her fianc , Daniel Mearns, of Russellville; two sisters, Vonnie Bilant of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sandra Muaro of Montana; a granddaughter, Sophia Mearns; and a special friend, Bernadette Farwell of Chicago, Illinois.

Alva Nee Billingsley, age 83, of Bluffton died Tuesday. January 15. 2002 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Nola, AR on March 3, 1918. She is the daughter of the late James Jim T. and Lou Vadie Ennis Wagner. She was a mother and a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Wagner, Cap Wagner, Dick Wagner, and a granddaughter, Tina Janel Elmer.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Darrel Otto Billingsley; a daughter and son-in-law, Dara Beth and Tom Elmer of Kansas City, KA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Leon and Jennifer Billingsley of Overland Park, KA, Darrel Kent and Terri Billingsley of Shawnee, KA; a sister, Clarice Thompson of Kansas City, KA. 3 granddaughters, and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 17, 2002 at 2:00 p. m. at the Nola Church of Christ with Walter Golding officiating. Burial was in Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton. Billingsley, Calvin Ray

Calvin Ray Billingsley, 79, of Bryant, formerly of Birmingham, Ala., died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Little Rock. He was born May 25, 1925, in Danville to Benjamin and Janie Billingsley. Mr. Billingsley was a retired brick layer, a World War II Navy veteran and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda; two brothers, Tom Billingsley and Robert Billingsley; and one sister, Elaine Pettus.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin Leon Billingsley of Trussville, Ala., and Kendall Kyle Billingsley of Hayden, Ala.; one brother, Bruce Billingsley of Bryant; three sisters, Inez Hart of Benton, Bennie Purifoy of Bauxite and Neil Massey of Traskwood; one granddaughter, Beverly Elaine Billingsley; and two stepgranddaughters, Jessica Slatton and Amanda Slatton.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ashby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Wright officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Billingsley, Darrel Otto

Darrel Otto Billingsley, age 87 of Bluffton, AR passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Shawnee, KS. He was born June 17, 1923 in Bluffton, AR to the late Bryan and Lou Alice Williams Billingsley. He married Alva Nee Wagner August 29, 1942. They moved to Kansas City, KS in 1943 where he worked at the North American Bomber plants during the war. Afterwards, he worked as a foreman in the formatting room at the Armour Meat Co., was owner-mechanic of a service station and retired as shift foreman at the Shawnee Mission School System in Shawnee Mission, KS in 1988. He moved back to Bluffton, AR in 1989. He was a member of Nola Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Alva Nee Billingsley; sister, Imojean Walters; brother, Nathaniel Billingsley; granddaughter, Tina Elmer; son-in-law, Tom Elmer.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Jennifer Billingsley, Darrel and Terry Billingsley all of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Dara Beth Elmer of Bonner Springs, KS; three granddaughters, one grandson, two great-grandsons; brother, Dexter Billingsley and wife, Helen of Bluffton; sisters, Evelyn Mitchell of Jessieville, Alice Dale Whala and husband, Lester of Bluffton, Gwen May of Eudora, KS, Lou Hance and husband, George of Ola.
