Atkinson, Mary Pearl Ramer

Mrs. Mary Pearl Ramer Atkinson, age 86, of Dardanelle, died Monday, April 28, 1986. Mrs. Atkinson was a housewife and a member of the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, H. N. Atkinson of Dardanelle, two daughters, Morene Pfeifer of Dardanelle and Maxine Gilliland of Osceola. One brother, Earl Ramer of California, one sister, Myrtle McGuire of Morrilton, and one grandchild.

Services were Wednesday, April 30, 1986 at the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonda Moyer officiating. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle. Services were in care of Cornwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Hugh Balloun, A. B. Cox, Joe Petray, Pete Tilman, Frank Lee Johnson, and Orville Brown. Atkison, Reba

Reba Atkison, age 70, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK on August 23, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Beulah Jackson Atkison of Blanchard, LA. She was the granddaughter of the late H. D. and Nannie Jackson of Waveland and Havana and had lived in Tulsa since the death of her parents. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Tulsa, OK.

Survivors include her brother, R. C. Atkison and nieces, Reva and Ruby Ann.

Atwood, Ruby L. George

Ruby L. George Atwood, age 85, of Modesto, CA died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at oak Valley Care Center, Oakdale, CA. She was a native of Dardanelle, AR and lived in Modesto 60 years. She was born in Arkansas on March 19, 1918 to the late Lilburn Green and Cora Ella George. She worked at Gene Thomas Trailer Sales for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Charlene Teeple and three brothers, Homer L., James L. and Herman J. George.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Atwood of Riverbank, CA, Lloyd Atwood of Banning, CA, Sandra Atwood of Modesto, CA and Shirley Cravey of Tucson, AZ; brothers, Lloyd George of Chinese Camp, CA and David George of Modesto, CA; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held March 20 at Chinese Camp Cemetery. Eaton Family Funeral Cremation Service, Modesto, CA was in charge of arrangements. Audirsch, E. L. (Mike)

E. L. (Mike) Audirsch Jr., age 59, of Mariagpa, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday, December 25, 1996 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was the Agency Manager for Lee County Farm Bureau, having previously been the Agency Manager in Yell and Miller counties. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gideons International and National Life Underwriters Associations.

He is survived by his wife Pat Audirsch and his mother Mrs. Nellie Audirsch both of Marianna; one daughter Heather Audirsch Hay wood of Hot Springs; one son Dr. Lance Audirsch of Helena; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday, December 27 at the First Baptist Church in Marianna. Interment was in Marianna Memorial Park. Nellie Audirsch, age 95, died Thursday, October 25, 2001. She was born April 23, 1906 and was preceded in death by her husband, E. L. (Lensy) Audirsch, Sr. and her son, Emiel (Mike) Audirsch, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Pat Audirsch of Mariana; granddaughter Heather Audirsch Haywood and husband Ken of Stuttgart; grandson Dr Lance Audirsch and wife Annetta of West Helena and their children Lindsay and Luke; and sister Iness Rowan of Mulvane, Kansas.

Vernon Marcus Auld, age 67, of Ola, AR died Saturday, August 14, 1999. He was a highly decorated U. S. Air Force Veteran and was a Staff Sergeant with the Air Police.

Survivors include his wife, Robbie Auld of Ola, AR; a son, Dennis Auld of Haskell, Ar; six daughters, Charlotte Clay and Cathy May of Ola, AR, Cindy Love of East End, AR, Carolyn Gullett of Benton, AR, Carla McEloud of Rover, AR and Tammy Gettle of Nola, AR; four brothers; six sisters; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma Jean Ault, age 66, of Lonsdale, AR died Tuesday, August 4, 1998 at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center. She was born January 7, 1932 at Story, AR to Buford and Beula Nichols. She married Zeulen C. Ault on January 9, 1949, at Lonsdale, AR. She was a very loving, caring and giving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the Smith Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by, her father, Buford Nichols and a grandson, Wilburn Smith.

Survivors include; her husband of 49 years, Zeulen Ault; her mother, Beula Nichols; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lane and Janet Ault of Mount Pleasant, Alan and Susan Ault and Lawrence and Tracie Ault of Lonsdale; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Paul Burks of Lonsdale, Connie and Frank Pfenenger of Monticello, Peggy and Joe Smith and Georgia and Paul David Morgan all of Hot Springs; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lon and Meda Nichols of Alexander and Norman and Jimmie Nichols of Star City; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and J. Austin, Jewell Mary

Jewell Mary Austin, age 80 of Dardanelle, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born October 10, 1927 in Kansas to the late David and Letha Rollans Rickett. She was a retired restaurant owner of Austin Mark Restaurant.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Austin.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Robert and Marie Bailey of Dover; John and Bobbie Bailey of Malvern; Jeff and Tammy Bailey of Kansas; Joe and Phyllis Bailey of Wyoming, Tommy and Darla Masters of Hot Springs; Edith Bailey of Dardanelle; Loretta and Dennis Dugan of Hot Springs; Bennie Ruth and Phillip Maine of Missouri; sisters, Dorothy Martin of Flat Rock, Minne May Hughes of California; seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Mickey Leo Austin, age 52 of Bluffton, AR, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1958 in Plainview, AR to the late Chester Lee and Frankie Mae Groves Austin. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.

Two Year Old Girl Drowns at Ola- A two year old girl, Judy Ann Avey, drowned near her home in Ola Sunday afternoon. When Mrs. Avey discovered that Judy Ann was not in her bed where she had left her while in the kitchen, she went outside to look for her. She found the little girl and her doll floating in a branch which runs behind the house.

Kenneth Aycock, age 76, of Dardanelle, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at his residence. He was born August 8, 1927 at Atkins, AR to the late Jack and Stella Lile Aycock. He was a retired truck driver for Bilt/Well Roofing, an Army veteran, and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church of Russellville.

Survivors are his wife, Vera Alewine Aycock of Dardanelle; 2 sons, Larry Aycock of Dardanelle, William (Bill) Aycock of Carrollton, TX; 1 daughter, Jana Dennis of Vilonia, AR; 1 brother and sister-in-law, David and Vivian Kirby of Russellville; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with the Rev. Larry Pettus officiating. Interment will follow at Rankin Cemetery in Russellville. Aydelotte, Chester Maris

Chester Maris Aydelotte, age 69, of Plainview, died at his home on March 13 after several weeks of illness. He was a native of Indiana and was a former employee of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad, working in the Gary steel mills for 45 years. He spent the remaining years of his life in Plainview, the spot of his choice. He was a member of the Switchmen's Union of North America.

Marie Baechle, age 92, of Plainview, AR died Sunday, August 8, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. She was a line worker for Reliable Electric Company in Franklin Park, IL, a homemaker and mother.

Charles Joe Bagby, age 68 of Clarksville, died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Johnson County Regional Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1936 at Dardanelle, to the late Joe and Lobelia Nichols Bagby.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Ray Bagby.

Eddie Lynn Bagby, Jr. age 24 of Dardanelle died Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at Southwest Regional Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Bagby was born July 3, 1974 in Danville. He was a chicken catcher for Frank Feruson of Pottsville and a Member of the St. James CME Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Hattie Foster and Joe and Lobetia Bagby.

Marie H. Bagby, age 90, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born July 22, 1912 in Danville, AR, the daughter of Herman and Laura Moore Howell. She was retired from ARVAC and SCAN, and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church, Dardanelle and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul Bagby.

Bailey, Evelyn

Evelyn Bailey 78 of Dardanelle died Thursday July 19, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Born September 16, 1922 in Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Millard and Nellie Roberson Wood. She worked in many facets of newspaper production for both the Post Dispatch and the Arkansas Democrat. She was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church, a fifty year member of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron, and was a charter member of the Dardanelle Rock Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Council Oaks 589 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son Richard Bailey, Morrilton, a daughter Patricia Glazer, Lake Forrest, CA, a sister, Ruth Scarborough, North Little Rock, a brother, Lemoyne Wood, Delaware; grandsons, Richard "Rich" Bailey, Dardanelle, James Bailey, Morrilton, granddaughters, Susan Wegner, Laguna Hills, CA. A daughter of the late William Audie and Nancy Margaret Shockey Drewry, she was born January 20, 1918, at Bear Creek in Searcy County. She was a member of the Dardanelle Assembly of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two husbands, Paul R. Oliver and Harry R. Bailey; and n daughter, Martha Jean Oliver.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Myron Ray and Renee Oliver of Dardanelle; a son, Larry Don Oliver of Russellville; two daughters, Retha Mae Oliver and Carolyn Faye Oliver, both of Russellville; three brothers, Leonard Drewry of Hughson, California, Dale Drewry of Avenal, California; and William Audie Drewry, Jr. of Dover; two sisters, Bertha Owens of Witts Springs; and Lena Compton of Wichita, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be 2 p. m. Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Witts Springs Community Church, with Rev. James Feltner and Rev. David Owens officiating. Bailey, Theo Bo Ray

Theo Bo Ray Bailey, age 80 of Dardanelle, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at St. Marys in Russellville. Born April 9, 1928 in Graham, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Walter and Dona Davis Bailey. He was a truck driver, World War II Navy Veteran, member of the First Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of the Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141.

He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Dona Davis, and his parents, Howard and Sylvia Bailey; and a sister, Lawana Bailey.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen Bailey of Dardanelle; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Paula Bailey of Mt. Home; daughter, and son-in-law, Nancy and David Rasmusson of Russellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law; two grandsons; two granddaughters and grandson-in-law.

Bailey, Virgil C.

Virgil C. Bailey, Jr. age 76, Liberal, Kansas, died Wednesday morning, July 31 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. He was born November 4, 1919 at Nimrod, Arkansas to Virgil C. Sr. and Sybil L. Gladden Bailey. He was married to Katie L. Glasgow on May 19, 1939 at Ola, Arkansas, she survives. He graduated from high school at Ola, AR hi 1937. He entered the U. S. Army Air Corps and served in World War II and was a hydraulics specialist. He came to Liberal in October 1943 and was a miller at the Light Grain & Milling 15 years before he purchased a machine shop. Virgil was a commercial pilot and flight instructor, he was also professional photographer and loved to fish and hunt. He owned and operated the Bailey Machine Shop before retiring in 1984.

In addition to his wife, Katie, he is survived by one son, Gary Bailey, Winter Park, CO; one daughter, Doneta Dudley, Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Western Avenue Church of Christ, Liberal, with Glenn Walton, officiating. Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Ervin Sander Bair was stricken with paralysis Saturday, December 27, 1947 at his home in Plainview and departed this life Thursday night, January 1, 1948, at the age of 77 years. Mr. Bair was a native of Missouri but had been a resident of Plainview for a number of years and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Baker, Aline Petray

Aline Petray Baker, age 93 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born January 8, 1910, in London, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Calvin and Annie Hines Petray and was the widow of the late Ira Linley Baker who she married in June of 1928 in Malvern, Arkansas. They were married fifty-six years. Residents of Dardanelle since 1940, they owned and operated Baker's Cleaners for 37 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Linley Baker and daughter-in-law, Kay Warren Baker of Dardanelle; a daughter, Barbara Baker Meek and son-in-law, Carroll Stickney Meek of Russellville; and a sister, Joan Ballard of Arkadelphia, AR; Grandchildren, James Stickney Meek of Little Rock, Deborah Lee Meek-Smith of Houston, TX, Lori Murdoch Garrett of Russellville, and Betsy Baker Case of Dardanelle. Also surviving are three great-grandsons, Daniel Case of Dardanelle, Ty Murdoch and Cort Murdoch of Russellville, and two great granddaughters, Ariel Smith of Houston, Texas, and McKenzie Meek of Beecher, Illinois, and she had many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Thursday, February 20, 2003 in Brearley Cemetery with Rev. Floyd Ervin officiating. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home Dardanelle. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Donald F. Hill, Dr. Gene Ring, the late Dr. James D. Sykes, Dr. Kelly Meyer, and Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Staff and Employees.
