This collection contains transcriptions of obituaries from the YELL COUNTY RECORD weekly newspaper published in Danville, Arkansas. It created by scanning the original newspaper clipping and processing them using an OCR program. The resulting text is not always perfect since the quality of the newsprint, ink smears and spots on the paper can distort the lettering. Every effort has been made to ensure a correct transcription. 

For each YCR transcription in this collection there is also a image copy of the original obit.   This image copy can be found by looking up the obit name in the Online Index. Or you can use the publication date contain at the end of the obit transcription and look it up in the YCR Obit Image collection (See link below).

Note: In the site index, the images are index by the obit name as published in the paper and the transcriptions are indexed using the full name in the obit. 

For years 1997-2007, the actual newspaper obit images are available when displaying the obit by name using the online index.
