Whitten, William Robert

William Robert Whitten, age 50, of Rover, Arkansas died Friday, July 10, in the V. A. Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Whitten was a native of Rover, Arkansas. He was a Veteran and carpenter and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his, wife, Mrs. Betty Word Whitten of the home; two sons, Timmy and Robert Whitten of the home; four daughters, Debbie Whitten of Fort Smith, Mrs. Janet Lawrence of Rover, Miss Laura Whitten and Miss Darla Whitten, both of the home; a grandson, Josh Lawrence of Rover; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Whitten of Rover; one brother, H. O. Whitten of California; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Menard of New Orleans and Mrs. Betty Hoppers of Oklahoma City.

Wiles, James Dakota

Infant James Dakota Wiles, one month old, died Sunday, April 21, 1996 at his home in Jessieville. He was born in Hot Springs, March 25, 1996.

He is survived by parents, Michael and Beverlie Roberson Wiles; two brothers, Kelly and Skyler; grandparents Dan and Blenda Roberson of Jessieville; great grandmother Elsie Roberson of Danville; Aunt, Patty Roberson of Jessieville.

Wiley, Ava Ruth Lewelling

VILONIA - Mrs. Ava Ruth Lewelling Wiley, age 70, of Vilonia (Faulkner County) died Thursday. She was a Baptist and the widow of Bill Wiley.

Survivors are a son, Roy Wiley of Vilonia, and a brother, Royce Lowelling of Vilonia.

Wilkerson, Ray M.

Ray M. Wilkerson, Sr., age 75, of 425 Lindenhurst Drive, North Little Rock, a retired operator for Operating Engineers Local 382, died Tuesday, May 31. He was a former driver for Missouri Pacific Bus Transportation. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Engineer Local 382. Rosary was said at 7 p. m. on June 1st at North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Funeral was at 10 a. m. on June 2nd. by the Most Reverend Andrew J. McDonald, D. D. Bishop of the Diocese of Little Rock, Msgr. John B. Schefer, Reverend James E. Mancini, and Reverend Richard Oswald. Burial was at 3 p. m. in Salem Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Paulette Wilkerson; a son, Ray Skip Wilkerson, Jr. of Hot Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Hammons, of North Little Rock; a brother, Boyce Parker Wilkerson, of Little Rock; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Marguerite Wapelhorst, of Modesto. Willard, Clayton Howard

Clayton Howard Willard Sr., age 89 of Plainview, AR died early Tuesday, February 7, 1989 at the Yell County Hospital In Danville. He was a native of Chula, AR, son of the late Burton C. Willard and Uda Elizabeth Swaim Willard, a Retired Civil Service Employee with the Postal Service, a member of the Plainview Church of Christ and a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Macel McKeever Willard of the home; one son, Clayton Howard Willard Jr. of Wiekenburg, AZ; one half brother, Sherrill Willard of Plainview, AR; one half sister, Neva Walden of Fort Smith; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Ola Church of Christ Thursday, February 9. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery at Plainview. Arrangements and services were in care of Cornwell Funeral Service of Danville. (Submitted by: Patsy Gatliff, 2/7/1989)


Willard, Eula Mae

Eula Mae Willard, age 81, of Fort Smith died July 13, 1987 at a Fort Smith nursing home. She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, American Nurses Association and AARP.

She is survived by one son, Joseph L. Willard, St. Paul, MN; and one, sister, Martha White of Fort Smith, and five grandchildren.

Willburn, Bessie

Bessie Willburn, of Gravelly, AR died Sunday, December 3, 1995 in the Rich Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Mena, AR. She was born December 2, 1913 in Little Texas, AR to the late John McCormack and the late Laura Hunt McCormack. She was 82 years of age. She was united in marriage on October 27, 1945 in Hugo, OK to the late Ruben Willburn. She was a nurse, beautician and a homemaker. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors three sisters Ila Willis of Gravelly, Lillie Powell of Waldron, Ar and Neva Laster of Danville; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were December 5 at Gravelly United Methodist Church in Gravelly with Rev. Royce Savage officiating. Interment was in the Parks Cemetery in Nola, AR. Williams, Grace Viola

Mrs. Grace Viola Williams, age 85, of Chickalah Mountain died Monday, January 4, 1988 at Yell County Hospital in Danville. She was the daughter of the late G. W. and Beatrice Sugg Madden and the widow of Curtis Williams. She was Chickalah Mm. Editor for the Record for many many years.

Survivors include two sons, Duane Williams of Russellville and Durell Williams of Napa, CA; three grandchildren, Michael Williams and Regina Williams both of Napa, CA and Sonya Herzog of Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Thursday, January 7, 1988 at Chickalah Mtn. Church with Rev. Earl Stapleton officiating. Interment will be in Chickalah Mtn. Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in care of Dixon Funeral Home of Danville. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 6 at Dixon Funeral Home. Williams, Raymond L.

Raymond L. Williams, age 73, of Arkadelphia, AR, formerly of Hot Springs, AR died Thursday, November 14, 1996 in Arkadelphia. He was born April 30, 1923 in Bluffton, AR the son of the late Nathaniel Augustus and Fanny Emma Killian Williams. He attended Arkansas Tech at Russellville and was a retired AP&L employee. He was a WWII Army veteran of the 460 Ordinance Evacuation Co. a 32nd degree mason with memberships in Malvern and Bluffton for fifty years, and served as worshipful master at the Jones Mill Industrial Lodge No 751. He was a member of Fairview Church of God in Hot Springs where he served as deacon and elder in the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Smallwood Williams; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Rix Wiemen and Mark C. Wieman; three sisters, Clara Swaim of Crossett, Ruby Harvey of Wilmot and Anna Grace Neeley of Dumas; three grandchildren, Tara Rix, Nathan Rix and Jamie Rix; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was November 16 at the Fairview Church of God in Hot Springs with Bro. Marcus Phillips and Rev. Bill Singleton officiating. Williams, Reba J.

Mrs. Reba J. Williams, age 71, of Ola, AR died Saturday, March 16, 1996 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 29, 1924 in Ola, daughter of the late Oscar and Maude Barnes Foster. She was a mother and homemaker and the widow of George Williams and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a son, George L. Williams.

Survivors include four sons, Lee Roy McGuire, Centerville, AR, Frankie Williams, Little Rock, AR, Jackie Williams, Russellville, AR an O. J. Williams of Ola, AR; one daughter, Gladys Sue Phillips of Russellville; three brothers, Benny Foster, Centerville, Floyd Foster of Ola and Fay Foster of Florida; four sisters, her twin, Ruby Lowery of Plainview, AR, Vera Hayes of Casa, AR, Juanita Hutchins of Knoxville, TN and Irene Key of South Carolina; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were March 19 at the Ola Church of Christ with Leslie VanWinkle officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Baker, Jimmy Foster, Donald Langston, Hartsell Lewis, Tony Meadows and Jackie Foster. Honorary Dr. J. O. Williamson, Earl

ROCKWALL - Funeral services for Earl Williamson of Rockwall are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at the Lyons Funeral chapel here. Gene Lofton will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockwall Cemetery. He died Wednesday afternoon in Garland hospital. The son of George and Theodicia Beattie Williamson, he was born on Feb. 15, 1903 in Rockwall.

Survivors are three brothers, Hugh and Joe Williamson of Dallas and Mims Williamson of Rockwall; and four sisters, Iris Birdwell of Greenville, Edith Abbott of Amarillo, Georgie Fulton of Craig, Colo, and Evelyn Bitheimer of Little Rock, Ark. Williamson, Ruth

Ruth Williamson, 88, of Hot Springs died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at a local hospital. She was a seamstress and member of Second Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Mack Williamson, and a daughter, Barbara A. Lewis.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. and Helen Williamson of Magnolia; a daughter, Luda Leferink of Poplar Bluff, Mo. three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Helen Anderson, Pat and Clara Bee Anderson and R. L. and Imo-gene Anderson, all of Hot Springs; and six grandchildren.

Willis, Andy Dot

Andy Dot Willis, age 68, of Tulsa, OK passed away Saturday, August 8, 1992 at a Tulsa hospital. He was the son of the late Andrew W. Willis and Velma Ferguson, natives of Gravelly, AR. They moved to Bixby, OK in about 1920 where they made their home and truck farmed in the Arkansas River bottoms north of Leonard, OK.

He is survived by wife of 49 years, E. Oleta of the home; daughter, Cheryl Lundgren, son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Susan Willis, grandsons, Terry Lundgren and Matthew and David Willis all of Tulsa. Also surviving are two sisters, Vada McElroy of Bixby and Irene Mabry of Plainview, Chula community, Arkansas, one brother, Hubert Willis of Bixby and several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired Captain of the Tulsa Fire Department after 32 year-Tulsa Fire Department after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a 32nd 71, a member of Tulsa Scottish Rite, Akdar Shrine, and Oddfellow Lodge No. 151. He was also a decorated Veteran of U. S. Army service in WWII. He attended Southern Hills Baptist Church and was an avid sports fan. He was a very loving and giving husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Winchell, Jack (50 Years Ago)

Jack Winchell, age 25, of Morrilton was killed in a two-car collision near Sheridan Friday. A native of Shark, in Yell County, he was a member of the Baptist church. He was discharged from the Army Jan. 24.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Ruth Winchell; his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Winchell of Morrilton; two brothers, William of Walnut Ridge and David of Morrilton; a sister, Mrs. Hugh Jones of Morrilton; and his maternal grandfather, C. D. Jackson of Hollywood. Witt, James Madison

Mr. James Madison Witt, age 88, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, March 31, 1995 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born September 5, 1906 in Magazine, AR to the late Archie and Anna Hunt Witt. He was a retired farmer and member of the Gateley Hill Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors wife, Verene McKinney Witt; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Witt of Dardanelle and James Lee Witt of Alexandria, Virginia; three daughters, June Rogers of Scranton, Roxie Etzkorn of Dardanelle and Lura Moody of Ft. Smith; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren

Services were Sunday at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Elder Roland Green. Interment in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Pallbearers were grandsons Kenny Witt, Jimmy Witt, Michael Witt, Frank James Etzkorn, Fabian Etzkorn, Johnny Etzkorn, Ryan Rogers, Chris Moody. DANVILLE - Miss Nettie Womack, age 83, of Danville, died Monday. Mrs. Womack was a Baptist

Womack, Ola Lee

Ola Lee Womack, age 93, of Murfreesboro formerly of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, August 9, 1995 at the Pike Co Hospital. She was born November 18, 1901 hi Kirby the daughter of the late Adolphus and Cornelia Williams Anderson. She was a housewife, a member of the Home Demonstration Club, a member of the Nazarene Church and the widow of Joel Womack.

Survivors include five daughters, Jo Ray of Murfreesboro, Ola Mae Garner or Texarkana, TX, Grace Buford of Briggsville, AR, Eupha Watson of Nashville, AR and Mary Lou White of Kirby, AR; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Willie Perry Womack, age 78, of Danville, AR died Sunday, November 17, 1996 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in Yell County, August 16, 1918 son of the late Jesse Levi and Gallic Gibson Womack. He was retired from Wayne Poultry.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Scott Womack; a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Homer Me Arthur of Pine Bluff; two granddaughters, Pam Hall and Patricia Small of Pine Bluff; a great-grandson, Grant hall of Pine Bluff; one brother, Norman Womack of Sand Springs, OK; a sister, Jessie Davis of No. Little Rock; several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Hester N. Worley Wood, age 89, of Bluffton, died Thursday, October 23, at Yell County Hospital at Danville. She was a native of Chula, widow of M. H. Wood, daughter of the late O. C. and Vicie Curl Worley and was a member of Bluffton Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, C. T. of Fresno, CA; six daughters, Mrs. Lorene Clayton of Dumas, Mrs. Berline Patton and Mrs. Inez Storment of Bluffton, Mrs. Lillian Reed of Hot Springs, Mrs. Mary Cluck of Van Buren and Mrs. Christine Hunnicutt of Somis, CA; three brothers, Robert Worley of Akron, Ohio, Ernest Worley of Hemet, CA, and Arlie Worley of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Mae Hall of Orange, CA; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at Bluffton Baptist Church by the Rev. B. L. Dorman, and the Rev. Monroe Hunt. Burial was in Bluffton Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Wood, Lucy Jayne

Mrs. Lucy Jayne Wood, age 68, of Bluffton, AR widow of Perry Wood, died Thursday, at her home in Bluffton. She was born March 19, 1927 to the late Ira and Cora Wheeler Russell. She was a retired custodian with the Fourche Valley School District and a cattle farmer. She was a member of the Bluffton Methodist Church.

Survivors: son, Jim Wood of Bluffton; two daughters, Pat Swindle of Montana and Linda Hunt of Gravelly; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Woods, Jewell

Jewell Woods went to rest with her Lord God on June 20, 2006. She was born January 1, 1910, in Havana, Yell county, Arkansas, where she met and married Vernie Oliver Woods on February 15, 1925. They had eleven children.

Jewell was proceeded in death by her husband Vernie, Sons, L.B. Woods, Neugene Woods, Daughters, Anna Bell woods, and Virginia Woods.

Jewell is survived by her sons; Wayne, Charles, Darrill Woods, Daughters Ruth McAndrews, Darlene Hodges, Lillian Cottrell, and Lodi Neal. Jewel was blessed with 32 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, 35 great great grandchildren and 3 great great great grandchildren. She was also survived by on brother; Boyd Rogers of California.

Services have already been held. Jewell has lived in and around Chowchilla since 1950. She had a great love for quilting and blessed many of us with her legacy of quilts. Woodson, Billy

Billy Woodson, age 56, of Dardanelle, died Tuesday Morning, July 1, 1986, at the Dardanelle Hospital. Mr. Woodson was a native of Belleville, owner and operator of the Woodsons Dept. Stores in Dardanelle and Danville. He was a member of the Dardanelle City Council, Board of Director of the Bank of Dardanelle, past Mayor of the City of Dardanelle. A member of the Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Dardanelle School Board, past President of the Dardanelle Rotary Club, and a member of the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Rossi Woodson, two sons, John Woodson and David Woodson, both of Dardanelle, one daughter, Elizabeth Stinnett of Little Rock; one brother, Carl Woodson of Belleville; two sisters, Wanda Scott of Dardanelle, and Winona Jones of Waldron; and one granddaughter, Christina Stinnett.

Funeral services will be held at the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church at 10 a. m. Thursday morning with the Rev. Bonda Moyer, and the Rev. Frank Clemmons officiating. Interment will be at the Brearley Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Dana Merritt, J. C. Craig, John Blevins, Jimmy Taylor, Buster Berryhill, Dale Latham, H. M. Osborn, and Jim Miller. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dr. Jean Ring, Dr. Dee McCormick and Randy Talkington. Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the 1st United Methodist Church of Dardanelle. Woolard, Clyde W.

Clyde W. Woolard, age 82, of Plainview died Sunday, May 27, 1990 at his home. He was owner and operator of Clyde's Bait Shop and Clyde's Cabins at Plainview, son of the late Arch and Nettie Willard Woolard & a member of the Plainview Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Floy Humphrey Woolard; two sisters, Vera Moudy of Bluffton and Ila Greer of Portland, OR and several nephews and nieces.

Woolbright, Amy E.

Amy E. Woolbright, died September 30, 1992; born November 16, 1907 and shared Oklahoma's birthday. Attended college, taught first grade and coached Girl's Basketball for seven years. Married Jim W. Woolbright in 1938 and has resided in OKC for 52 years. Amy was a member of St Luke's Methodist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the Sunday Night Group. She was member of various organizations including the Eastern Star and the National Pen Wits. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim of the home, and two sisters, and brothers, Viola, Nettie, Don and R. L. all of Arkansas and J. K. of Missouri.

Survivors include two sons Jimmy L. of OKC and Richard L. and daughter-in-law Dorothy J. of Edmond; grandchildren include Christie Schmidt, Jimmy and wife June Woolbright, Devon Woolbright-Hahn, M. D. and husband Michael Hahn, M. D. and Daria Woolbright, all of OKC and Lisa Hansen and husband Steve of San Antonio and Sharla Hein and husband John of Denver. Wright, Harold Dean

Harold Dean Wright, age 38 of Plainview, died Friday, September 18, 1987, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a native of Truro. Iowa, a truck driver for the Kenneth Kenney Logging Co. a veteran of the Viet Nam War, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Trustee of the VFW post 8525, member of the Plainview City Council, member of the 4 Military Order of the Cootie, The Honor Degree of the VFW and a member of the Baptist Church.

Wreck injuries fatal to motorist

ROVER - Harold Dean Wright, age 38, of Plainview (Yell County) died Friday of injuries he suffered September 10 when the logging truck he was driving struck a horse north of Rover (Yell County), authorities said. Wright, a truck driver for the Kenneth Kenney Logging Company, was northbound on Highway 28 a few miles from the Rover city limits. The horse, which was in the middle of the highway, was killed, a spokesman for the Yell County sheriff's office said. Wright served on the Plainview City Council and was a Baptist, a Vietnam war veteran, a member and trustee of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Military Order of the Cooties.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Jane Miller Wright; two stepsons, Keith Vess of Orange Park, Fla. and Kenneth Vess of Rover (Yell County); a stepdaughter, Debra Dale Hawkins of Russellville; his parents, Howard and Charlotte Wright of Truro, LA; a sister, Tresa Cook of Truro, and seven grandchildren.

Wyatt, Oscar W.

Oscar W. Wyatt, age 65, of Milpitas, CA died in Fremont, CA following a heart attack. He was a retired teacher, having taught in Van Buren and Kingston, AR, Gustine, CA and Milpitas. He was a native of Hope, he attended the Arkansas State Teachers College and the University of Arkansas. He was the husband of Willda Jean Woodson Wyatt, formerly of Plainview and the son-in-law of Mildred Watson and the late James K. Watson.

He is survived by his wife, Willda Jean; two sons, Michael and Matthew Wyatt; two daughters, Cecilia Shepard and Margaret Wiese; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wyatt; two grandchildren, Robert and Royn Wyatt; and two sisters, Maxine Silvertooth of Texas and Ruby Fiddler of Con way.

Services included an evening prayer service on September 18 and a memorial service on September 19 at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, 926 Evans Rd. Milpitas. The church building fund was named as the family's preferred charity. The Revs. Fred Gere, Frederick Meagher and Douglass Williams participated in the services. Yarbrough, Fonnie Lee

Mr. Fonnie Lee Yarbrough, age 72, of Danville, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 28th at the Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Norman, Arkansas, son of the late Walter Yarbrough and Alice Kiser Yarbrough. He was a World War II Veteran, retired mechanic and employee of the Wayne Processing Co. and a member of the Danville Assembly of God Church, having served on the Deacon Board at the Belleville and Danville Assembly of God Churches for a great many years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie Parker Yarbrough of the home; one son, Lonnie Yarbrough of Danville; two daughters, Fay Talley and Martha Lunningham both of Danville; four sisters, Roxie Barns of California, Treva Heath of Oklahoma City, Mary Fowler of Friendship, AR and Anna Pearl Pitts of Ola; 6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 3 step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. January 30th, in the Danville Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Marion R. Oswalt and Rev. Edwin Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Earl Ladd Memorial Cemetery in Danville, by Cornwell Funeral Home Service of Danville. Family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p. m. Wednesday night at the Funeral Home. Yates, Edgar Willis

Edgar Willis Yates, age 59, of Onyx died Friday Evening, January 19, 1979 at the Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Yates was a native of 0nyx, a retired Poultry Farmer, the son of the late Thomas and Mattie Borrows Yates, He was a veteran of W. W. II and a member and an deacon of the Onyx Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Elva Yates; three sons, Bill Yates of Plainview, Joe Yates of Russellville, and Lanny Yates of Onyx; one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Jeans of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Reba Swaim of Aly, Mrs. Effie Nichols of Onyx, Mrs. Exie Walker, and Mrs. Christene Horton, both of Texas; and 7 grandchildren.

Robin Nicole Yates, 11 months old, of Plainview, died Tuesday, September 15, 1987.

She is survived by her parents, David Paul and Sonya Kay Yates; paternal grandparents, Bill and Edna Yates of Plainview; maternal grandparents, Landon and Ella, Bryant of Nimrod; paternal great-grandmother, Elva Yates of Onyx; uncles, aunts, cousins, God parents and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 19 at Onyx Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Yates and Rev. Charles Falwell officiating. Interment was in Shed Cemetery. Young, Lonnie O.

Lonnie O. Young, age 85, of Poteau, OK died Monday, September 11, 1995 at a hospital in Poteau. He was retired from Frisco Rail Road.

Survivors include five daughters, Sue Hunt of Gravelly, AR, Judy Wilson of Dallas, TX, Frankie Cramer of Madison, AL, Linda Rose of Waldron, AR and Ann Copeland of Waldron, AR; two sisters, Viada Woods of Monroe, OK and Velda Scamardo of Springdale, AR; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
