BLUFFTON - Edgar Mobley, age 71, of Bluffton (Yell County), a farmer, died Tuesday, November 26, 1974.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha Willie Mobley of California; two sons, Bill Mobley and George Mobley, both of California; a daughter. Mrs. Norma Lee Chapman of California; ; two brothers, Elie Mobley of Briggsville and Ocie Mobley of California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BRIGGSVILLE-Joseph Elie Mobley, age 83, of Briggsville (Yell County) was struck and killed by lightening outside his home Friday, June 6, 1975. Mr. Mobley was a retired farmer and member of Briggsville United Methodist Church and Bluffton Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Luda Whisenant Mobley; a son, John Mobley of Benton; three daughters. Mrs. Willene Armstrong and Mrs. Sarah Venable, both of Arizona, Mrs. Undean Reed of Dumas; a brother, Ocie Mobley of California, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BENTON - Mrs. Luda C. Mobley, aged 80, of Benton died Wednesday, April 29, 1987. She was a Baptist.
Survivors are a son, John W. Mobley of Benton; three stepdaughters, Willene Armstrong of Casa Grande, Ari. Sarah Venable of Phoenix and Undean Reed of Dumas; a sister, Lydia Irons of Sims (Montgomery County), 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Thomas William Mobley, age 86, of Havana, AR died Thursday, December 7, 1995 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in County Line, AR, May 23, 1909 son of the late Enoch M. and Molly Grant Mobley. He was a retired livestock dealer and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Merle Hood Mobley.
Survivors include three sons, Aaron Mobley of Van Buren, AR, Adrian Mobley of Havana, AR and Hayden Mobley of Belleville, AR; two sisters, Vera Johnson of Fairfax, OK and Selma Kelsey of Georgia; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 9, 1995 at the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. O. Tackett officiating. Burial was in the Blue Mountain Cemetery in Blue Mountain, AR. Thursday, May 22, 1952 Yell County's Oldest Doctor Dies at 86 - Dr. Lee Montgomery, age 86, died at his home at Gravelly Saturday morning. He was the oldest physician in Yell County. Montgomery began his practice in 1833 at Shark, in Yell County and was active until a year ago. He received a 50 year gold bottom from the Arkansas Medical Association in 1949 with the observation that they waited 10 years too late. He had practiced at Gravelly since Dr Montgomery was born in Mississippi and came to Arkansas at the age of 17. He attended the University of Arkansas Medical School and Rush Medical College at Chicago. He was a past president of the Yell and Pope Counties Medical Society. He was a member of the Yell County Board of Examiners several years and also was a Methodist and a Scottish Rite Mason.

Mrs. Lola Bogle Montgomery, age 78 of Bluffton, AR died Wednesday, November 30, 1988 at her home in Bluffton. She was a native of Hot Springs, AR, the daughter of the late Jim and Len Brogans McTigritt, a homemaker and mother and a member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Montgomery of the home; one son, Thomas Earl Bogle of Briggsville, AR; one daughter, Betty Bogle Russell of Exton, PA; two brothers, Ira McTigritt and Eldridge McTigritt both of Dumas, AR; two sisters, Jo Earl James and Lyda Patterson both of Dumas, AR; also 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

ALVIE ANDERSON MORGAN AUG. 8, 1915 - OCT. 22, 2007 Alvie was born on August 8th, 1915 in Yell County, Arkansas to Amos and Marth Walker. She passed away on Oct. 22 at her home in Winnemucca, Nevada. She was a resident of Empire and Hughson for many years.
Alvie is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son, Nina Yarbrough of Visaila, CA; Ina Collins of Turlock, CA; Bonnie Lawrence of Sargent, TX; Randy Anderson of Winnemucca, and NV; step-daughter, Ladean Hilgenburg of Oakdale, CA; and step-son, Don Morgan of Modesto, CA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Pamela Andres of Abbotsford, B.C.; Daniel Yarbrough of Cypress, CA; Sheila Patterson of Henryetta, OK; Diana Collins of Schulter, OK; Steven Collins of Turlock, CA; Debra VanPelt of Port Arthur, TX; Tina Magana of Modesto, CA; Sandra Horton of Brazoria, TX; Cheryl Shaw of Drain, OR and Ginny Hawkins of Winnemucca, NV; 24 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Eulla Grace of Russelville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rev. Julian Anderson; and husband of 8 years, Alton Morgan; 4 brothers and 1 sister: Alton, Allen, Opel, Jack and Inice; great grandson, Jeremy Holland and step-son, Wayne Morgan.
She was a member of the Ceres Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew, quilt, fish, take care of her family and serve the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and love. She touched many lives in her time and will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Mary Griffith Morin, age 63 of Bluffton, AR died Sunday, February 2, 1992 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She was the daughter of the late Oscar H. and Elsie Moore Griffith. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary V. F. W. Post 8381.
Survivors include her husband, William H. (Bill) Morin; four sisters, Hattie Stone of Dinuba, CA, Mylisia Spinas of Alma, AR, Reba Maxwell of Houston, AR and Gwindola Brand of Perryville, AR; three brothers, Walter Griffith of Maryland Heights, MO, Grant Griffith of Cutler, CA and Bobby Griffith of Little Rock, AR.

Vileka Fowler Morris passed away in Walnut Creek, California February 26, 1994 at the age of 81 years. She was born in Gravelly, Arkansas to Seth T. and Minnie Fowler. She went out to California in 1935 where she married the late James Carl Billingsley, also of Arkansas. She was later married to the late Ray Morris of Pleasant Hill, CA and lived there for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Billingsley; two brothers; Olgar and Euel and sisters-in-law Marie and Pearl all of Arkansas; her; sisters, the late Hazel Hunnicutt and Dewey Hunnicutt, Aimee Hunt, Helen Findley and Bobbye Weems and brothers-in-law, the late Will Hunnicutt, Deon Findley, Byron-Hunt and Bill Hunnicutt and A. W. Weems. She is also cherished and remembered by 8 nieces and nephews, 5 great niece and nephew 7 and 8 great, great nieces and-nephews, many neighbors and friends.

James Ray "Dooly" Mosely, age 73, of Danville died Wednesday February 19, 1986 at his home. He was the son of the late and Leonah Mosley.
He is survived by two brothers, Raymond Mosely and Boyce Mosely of Danville; five sisters, Loyce Crutchfield of San Bernardino, CA, Faye King of Danville, Irene Wesley of Dardanelle and Lucille Sweeden and Linda Patterson of Little Rock.

DANVILLE - David A. Napier, age 64, of Danville, died Saturday, October 26, 1985. He was a farmer, a chief deputy sheriff and tax collector for Yell County, a funeral director with Cornwall Funeral Home in Danville and a World War II veteran.

Mrs. Hattie L. Cockman Neuhart, age 98, of Plainview, AR, widow of Charles Wesley Charley Neuhart, died Tuesday, November 9, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born March 10, 1895 in Ava, Perry County, Arkansas to the late William and Mattie Ladd Cockman. She was a housewife and mother and a member of the Plainview Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors two sons, Cleo Neuhart of Plainview and Cecil Neuhart of Charleston; two sisters, Ive Herrin of Mt. Valley and Carrie Bankston of California; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Virgie Noblett, age 68 of Ola. She died Monday, December 12, 1988, at Riverview Nursing Home in Morrilton, AR. She was a native of Waltreak, Yell County Arkansas, daughter of the late Joe and Lizzie Sipes Woodall and the widow of the late Jake Noblett. She was a homemaker and mother and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Treadwell of Plainview; one brother, Joseph Woodall of Danville; two grandsons, Roy and Roger Treadwell and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Kimberly Treadwell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Stanley Albert Noon, age, 66, of Rover, died Wednesday, November 4, 1987, at the Yell County Hospital at Danville. He was the son of the late Hanley and Clara Shaffer Noon a retired United States Forestry Serviceman and retired Arkansas National Guard member, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War and a recipient of the Bronze Star, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign; Wars and the American Legion, and a member and deacon of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Welker Noon; one daughter, Frances Lofland of Rover; two brothers, Paul Noon of Paducah, Kentucky and Kenny Whitledge of Dixon, Kentucky; one sister, Virginia Ruth Steinbeck of Modesto, Calif.; two grandchildren.

Bill Kenneth Norman, 67, of Greenwood, AR died August 7, 1995 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Ft. Smith. He was born December 10, 1927 at Plainview to W. O. and Nannye T. Castleberry Norman. He was founder and president of Bill Norman Lure. He received a bachelor of science degree in education with a major in Biology from the University of Central Arkansas. He was a WWII veteran, member of the Founding Executive Advisory Board of Bass Research Foundation; charter member of F. O. C. A. S. (Fellowship of Christian Angler's Society); charter member of Fellowship of Christian Anglers; International Fishing Hall of Fame; Living Legends of American Sportsfishing and received the Dolphin Award. He was a member of the Harvest Time Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Delma Faye Yates Norman; and a brother, Harold Norman of Russellville.
Survivors include his wife, Yolanda Norman; one son, William K. Norman of Greenwood; three daughters, Teresa Brown of Greenwood, AR, Karen Hook of Tahlequah, OK and Detra Pearcy of Greenwood, AR; one brother, Charles Norman of Plainview, AR and 11 grandchildren.

E. L. "Doc" Oglesbee, age 80 of Gravelly, died Thursday, June 21, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. He was a native of Gravelly, son of the late Uriah and Effie Blaylock Oglesbee, a member and a deacon of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church, a Mason and a member of the William J. Parks 376 Masonic Lodge. He married Hester May Copeland October, 12, 1929. He was a retired employee of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hester May Copeland Oglesbee; a son, Bob Roy Oglesbee of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Glenna Jean Goodson of Oklahoma City, OK and Mrs. Kathy Dell Minnie of Gravelly; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were, Saturday at the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Millard and Rev. George Latham officiating, Burial was in Parks Cemetery near Gravelly. Bertha Faye Bratton Ornsbey, age 90, of Rover, AR died, Sunday, October 16, 1994 at her home. She was a housewife and member of the Rover Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late M. F. and Elizabeth Fowler Bratton.
She was the widow of Fred Ornsbey and was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Eugene Ornsbey and a daughter, Eva Mae Dickens.
Survived by two sons, Riley Fred and Bobby Ray Ornsbey both of Rover; four daughters, Ima Jean Blankenship and Bonnie Jean Stone, both of Rover, Ruby J. Phillips of El Dorado, AR and Martha J. Paine of Russellville; one brother, Johnny Bratton of Stigler, OK; two sisters, Eva Bledsoe of Mesa, AZ and Lucille Black of Pecola, OK; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Services will be today, Wednesday, October 19 at 2 p. m. at the Rover Baptist Church with Rev. Monroe Hunt officiating. Burial will be at the Hunt's Chapel Cemetery in Rover. OLA - Freddie Ray Owens, age 56, of Ola, a disabled truck driver, died Wednesday. Owens was a veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral will be at 2 p. m. today at Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle, by the Rev. Thomas Stover. Burial will be in Hunt Cemetery, Rover (Yell County).

RUSSELLVILLE - Mrs. Mary Retha Padgett, aged 74, of Plainview (Yell County) died Friday. She was a member of Plainview Free Will Baptist Church and the Eastern Star,

James Padgett of Wichita, Kan. and Elmer Padgett of Plainview; a daughter, Mrs. Grover Colbert of Little Rock; three brothers, Tola Stahl of Memphis, Randa Stahl of Bayshore, N. Mrs. Ida "Molly" Patterson Parker of 70 Cliffwood Circle, North Little Rock, an Avon representative, widow of John T. Parker Sr. died Wednesday. (1-13-88) Mrs. Parker was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Saturday at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pryor Cruce. Burial will be at 2:30 p. m. in Salem Cemetery, Plainview, by North Little Rock Funeral Home. The family will be at 23 Cliffwood Circle, North Little Rock.

Jacob L. "Lonnie" Parker, age 81, of Plainview, AR, died Sunday, January 22, 1989 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville, AR. He was the son of the late J. H. and Artie McCarty Parker, a retired school teacher having taught for 39 years in the Oklahoma Public Schools and a member of the Plainview Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Hopper Parker of Plainview; one son, J, Freeman Parker of Tulsa, Ok; one daughter, Frances Dutill of Florence, KY; three stepsons, Larry Hopper of Greenwood, AR, George W. Hopper of Plainview and Monte Hopper of Hartford, CT; one brother, Leo Parker of Norman, OK; one sister, Vieva Underhill of Nowata, OK; five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, at Plainview United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ed Kerr. Burial was in Salem Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service, of Ola. J.C. Parks, age 83, of Harvey, Arkansas died Monday, January 19, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, Arkansas. The son of Oliver and Martha Ann (Wicker) Parks, he was born August 16, 1920 in Tom, Oklahoma. He was a cattleman and was a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church in Gravelly, AR.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Parks and was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lola Cates, and three brothers, Jessie, Chester and Clifford Parks.
He is survived by one son, Johnny Parks of Avery, Texas; one daughter, Dianne Hunnicutt of Nola, AR; six grandsons, Keith VanRavensway of Waldron, AR, David VanRavensway of Ola, AR, Steven VanRavensway of Norfolk, VA, Eric Parks of Avery, TX, Preston Hunnicutt of Waldron, AR and Nick Hunnicutt of Danville, AR; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Parks of Horatio, AR, O.J. Parks of Parks, AR, Bruce Parks of Henderson, TX and Virgil Parks of Utah; one sister, Annie Rice of Horatio, AR; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2004 at Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church in Gravelly, Arkansas. Reverend J.A. Hunnicutt and Reverend Lavan Robinson officiated. Burial was at Monroe Cemetery at Harvey, Arkansas by Humphrey Funeral Service. Pallbearers were Keith VanRavensway, David VanRavensway, Eric Parks, Preston Hunnicutt, Nick Hunnicutt and Junior Marker. Lonnie Parsons, age 70, of Dardanelle died Monday, August 22, 1988 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was a retired Morton Foods employee and a veteran of W. W. II.
Survivors are one son, Carter Parsons of Dardanelle and two grandchildren.

Ruth Mae Blankenship Partin, age 76 of Clarksville died Sunday. Mrs. Partin was born January 2, 1917 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late James R. and Alice R. Spears Blankenship. She was a housewife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Partin.
Survivors include a son, Lee Partin of Russellville; two daughters, Violet Bledsaw, Lamar and Betty Askew of North Little Rock; three sisters, Josephine Gilbert of Pleasant Plains, Irene Nash of Centerville and Lorene King of Ola. Four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Pallbearers were her nephews.

Rev. George Anderson Patton Sr., age 83, of Bluffton, died Friday, August 18, 1989 at Yell County Hospital. He was an ordained Baptist minister, a member of Bluffton Baptist Church, son of the late Douglas and Maude Brown Patton. He had served as pastor of several churches including Havana, Plainview, Bluffton Baptist churches and First Baptist Church at Moore Park, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Berline Wood Patton; a son, George A. Patton Jr. of the home; two brothers, Earl Patton of Russellville and John Patton of Dardanelle; a sister, Mrs. Mary McMurphy of Stuttgart.

SOCIAL CIRCLE - Mrs. Vida May Howell Payne, age 75, of Jacksonville, Fla. a native of Social Circle (Yell County) died August 20.

Albert Henry Peck, age 77, of Rover died Tuesday, April 1, 1975 at his home. He was a taxidermist and a member of Rover Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lillian "Sweet" Cathey Peck, age 95, of Rover died Tuesday, January 12, 1993 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was a native of Rover, AR, daughter of the late William H. and Ellen Rabjohn Cathey, member of the Rover Baptist Church, a mother and homemaker.
Survivors are: one son, Joe H. Peck or Rogers City, Michigan; one daughter, Ann Ricker of Rover; two brothers, Owen Cathey of Van Buren and Bill Carney of Ocean Side, CA; two sisters, Vida Dildy and Modean Barry both of El Dorado, AR; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Garland H. Peeler passed away December 1 at his home in Russellville. He was the son of the late D. J. and Lucy Peeler. He was married to Lillie Ladd and to this union was born two daughters, Doris and Lois, of the home. He was 75 years of age and a member of the Methodist Church.
He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ella Lipsey of Horatio, Mrs. Floy Forrest, Plainview, Mrs. Dora White, Plainview and Mrs. Irene Pelt of Russellville and host of other relatives and friends. Garland Peeler Pelt; age 70, of Dardanelle died Monday, April 1, 1985, at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; two sons, Don Pelt of Dardanelle and Tommy Pelt of Midland; two daughters, Sue Jarnigan of Independence, MO and Jo Ann Race of Dardanelle; three brothers, Everett Pelt of Dardanelle, J. D. Pelt of Plainview and Hoyt Pelt of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Lorene Evans of Ola and Wilma Mae Dunn of Russellville; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, at the Free Will Baptist Church in Dardanelle with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Robert Presson officiating. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in care of Dixon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were employees of Thomas V Jones Lumber Co. of Dardanelle. Mrs. Bertha Mae Armour Person, age 69, wife of John Person, near Dardanelle, died Monday, May 18, 1959 in a Russellville hospital. Mrs. Person was a native of Mount George (Yell County) a daughter of the late Shelby Lee and Susie George Armour. Mr. and Mrs, Person celebrated their golden wedding anniversary September 1, 1957. Mrs. Person was a Baptist and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors other than her husband are three sons, James and Clarence Person of Dardanelle and Raymond Person of Chicago, Illinois. Also four daughters, Lola Cooper and Orra Ragsdale of Dardanelle, Lucille Tucker of Los Altos, California and Johnie Mae Ferris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a brother, Clarence Armour, of Anderson, California and one half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Dean of Wellman, Texas and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o clock May 20, 1959 at Dardanelle Presbyterian Church by Rev. O. D. Peters (Methodist Pastor.) Burial was in Brearley cemetery by the Cornwell Funeral Service. Pallbearers were H. A. Dean, Tommy Lee Armour, Joe Vinson, Duard Finkenbinder, Roy Tillrnan, Jr, and Neal Person. Delena Louise (Lynch) Person passed from this life on May 16, 2007, while in the loving-care of her daughter and son-in-law in Florence, AL. She was born in Garden Bottoms in Yell County, May 20, 1923, to the late William Merida and Martha Elizabeth Stubbs Lynch. Louise graduated from Garden Bottoms High School and married Herbert Neal Person in March 1942, and they were married for 52 years. Louise was a homemaker, member of Wing Community Church, President of the Fourche Valley PTA, and a Sunday School and Bible-study teacher. She loved the Lord, delighted in her family and especially enjoyed traveling. She loved people and made friends and acquaintances wherever she went.
She was predeceased by her husband; by sisters Eunice Grimes, Laverne Suggs; and her brother, Hershel Lynch.
She is survived by five daughters, Annette and Jerry Miley of Florence, AL, Mary and Doug Smith of Little Rock, AR, Sandy and Bob Lay of Pasadena, TX, Vicki and Joe Souza of Havana, AR, and Tammy and James Yandell of Wing, AR; two sons, Herbert "Buz" Person and Mary Sha of Little Rock, AR, and Jerry Neal and Tamie Person of Kansas City, MO; two sisters-in-law, Edith Turner and Hazel Russell both of Wing, AR; fifteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
