Emma Mae Jones, age 95, of Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, December 22, 2008, at The Carmel Hills Living Center.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Phinous, sons Louie Don and Larry and granddaughter Sondra.
She is survived by daughters Patsy Croft and Doris Dohrn, both of Kansas City, Mo., Linda Loyd and husband Jim of Waldron, Ark., 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in Gravelly, Ark., and burial in Parks Cemetery, Nola, Ark. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Saturday, December 27, at the Park Lawn Chapel. Virgie Jones (August 17, 1920 - December 30, 2007) Virgie Jones, 87, of Waldron Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 in a Waldron Nursing Home. She joined her husband Gaylord Jones and son, Gaylon Dale Jones in heaven. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at the Harvey Assembly of God Church with interment in the Parks Cemetery at Nola, Arkansas under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Waldron, Arkansas.
She is survived by six children, Ola Faye Moore of Paris, Arkansas, Shirley Yandell of Briggsville, Arkansas, Shelby Lewis of Aly, Arkansas, Nelda Lunsford of Waldron, Arkansas Waylon Jones of Waldron, Arkansas, Glenda Oglesby of Stonewall, Oklahoma, twenty grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clint Lunsford, Aaron Jones, James Yandell, J. L. Yandell., Shannon Oglesby and Gaylon Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Butler. William Pies Jones was born April 9th, 1876 in Yell County and passed away January 29, 1952 in the Baptist State Hospital in Little Rock.
He is survived by five children. Jesse Clay Keener, age 81, of Steve, AR died Monday November 3, 1986 at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Aly, AR, son of the late William and Nellie Kirby Keener. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from the Forest Service and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glyda Swaim Keener of the home, one brother, Pete Keener of Plainview, two sisters, Jennie Keener and Essie Yates both of Plainview. Nephew, Vernon Keener of Ft. Smith and Niece, Louise Hopper of Plainview and other nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Zetta Kendrick, age 82, of Dumas died Saturday, July 18, 1992 at Delta Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary Jane Hutchinson Hill, a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas and Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors include her husband, Owen Kendrick; a son, Johnny Ray Kendrick of Russellville; a sister, Mrs. Effie Buford of McGehee; two grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Mrs. Lorene Sullivant Kifer, age 90, of Rover, died Wednesday, May 2, 1990 at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. She was a native of Belleville, daughter of the late Tom and Maude Poteet Sullivant, widow of the late Martin Kifer. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of the Rover Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, J. C. Kifer of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Ina Marie Harris of Rover; one brother, Guy Sullivant of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Vada Ward Kiker, age 72 of Rover, died Wednesday, November 26, 1975 in the Yell County Hospital at Danville. She was a member of the Rover Baptist Church.

Jayne Earle Kilby went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 20. She was predeceased by her father, Grady Montgomery, of Carlsbad, N.M.; her mother, Ocie F. Montgomery, of Hot Springs; four brothers, Johnny Montgomery, of Briggsville, Kyle Montgomery, of Ola, Shannon Montgomery and Sherdian Montgomery, both of Hot Springs; her husband of 51 years, Vernon Wallace Kilby, of Hot Springs.
She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Lee East, of Hot Springs; a son and daughter, Howard Lee Kilby and Paula Jane Kilby, both of Hot Springs; four grandsons, Jason (Caroline) Wallace of, Los Angeles; Aaron (Sheri) O'Brien, of Brinkley; Micah John (Melonie) O'Brien, of Olney, Ill.; and Nathan Samuel (Charlene) O'Brien, of Hot Springs; 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan and David Wallace, of Los Angeles, Zack, Nikki and Drew O'Brien, of Brinkley, Debra, Distinye, Autum, Samantha and Vernon Caleb, of Hot Springs.
She was a master massage therapist and worked in the bathing industry of Hot Springs World Famous Bathhouse Row for 40 years. Jayne loved the spring waters of Hot Springs National Park. She owned the Downtown House of Beauty. Jayne enjoyed sewing and sold handmade hats in her shop "Bonnie's Sister." She loved the Lord and devoted her life to the study of God's Holy Word. She was a member of Walnut Valley Baptist Church and was reading the Bible during the closure of her life.
She received recognition from Hillary Rodham Clinton for her work with school children in Briggsville, Ark., and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Arkansas Secretary of State. She hosted the first foreign student at National Park Community College in 1974, Chiyo Murakami, of Japan.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Caruth- Hale Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jayne's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with Brother Tim Forrest officiating. Burial will be at Briggsville, Ark., where she and Vernon were the founders of Briggsville Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Howard Lee Kilby, Aaron O'Brien, Bruce East, Shannon Montgomery, Paul East, J.M. Harbert and Nathan Samuel O'Brien. Mr. Bruce Lynn Kilgore, age 64 of Rover, AR died Monday, August 14, 1995 at Chambers Memorial Hospital hi Danville. He was born in Chula, AR, September 6, 1930. He was the son of the late Edison Kilgore. He was a retired U. S. Forest Service Employee.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Faye Kilgore.
Survivors his mother, Lillian Parker Kilgore of Rover; two sons, Steven Kilgore of Briggsville and Tony Kilgore of Russellville; two daughters, Vickie Miller of Kansas City, MO and Pam Brafford of Russellville; three sisters, Betty Turner, Roena McKay and Nidra Rhorback all of Fayetteville and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Melba Lee Kimberly, age 72, of Plainview, formerly of Austin, TX, former co-owner, and operator of Amco Fence of Austin, wife of Charlie C Kimberly, died April 21. Mrs. Kimberly was a member of First United Methodist Church and had attended the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State Teachers College, Conway.
Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Dawn Melba Westbrook of Dallas, TX; her mother, Mrs. Leola Garner of Plainview; sister; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rosa Etta Kirkpatrick of Rover age 79, died at her home Friday night, June 19th, after a long illness. She had lived at Rover 38 years and had been a member of Missionary Baptist Church since age 15 years.
She leaves her husband, George Kirkpatrick; one son, Walter Kirkpatrick of Rover; two daughters, Miss Zadie Kirkpatrick of the home. California--Dairl David "Bud" Kitchens, age 82, of Riverbank, California passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care in Modesto, California.
Bud was a native of Gravelly, Arkansas and lived in Riverbank for 52 years. He retired as owner of several grocery stores in the Modesto and Ceres, California area. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting coon, bear and squirrel. He also enjoyed fishing and was truly at home in the outdoors. He attended Gravelly and Fouche Valley schools where he played basketball. In his last year at Fouche Valley High School his basketball team won the district tournament. He played baseball at Forester for many years. While living in California in the 1970s he was a dedicated coach for the Red Shield softball program and lead his team to many championships.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Kitchens of Riverbank; children, Dairl Kitchens, Jr. of Stevinson, California and Deloris Ann Kitchens of Riverbank; grandchildren, Harold Kitchens and Dairl Kitchens both of Modesto, California; great grandchildren, Danielle Kitchens and DJ Kitchens both of Modesto, California; two brothers, Gaylon Kitchens of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Frank Kitchens of Springdale, Arkansas; and three sisters, Estelle Wilson of Danville, Arkansas, Margaret James of Gravelly and Jo Parker of Waldron.
Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by his parents, LA "Mug" and Bertha Kitchens; and a brother, Lewis Andrew Kitchens, Jr.
Visitation was held at the Lakewood Chapel, Hughson, California. Graveside services were held at the family plot at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California.

James LeRoy "Nub" Knight, age 78, of Plainview died Friday, March 25, 1988. He was the son of the late John and Ira Burfield Knight, a retired law enforcement officer. Upon his retirement, he had served 30 consecutive years in law enforcement, which was logger than any other law enforcement officer on the active roll in Arkansas at that time. Nub started in 1936 as Plainview Marshal and as Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Buford Compton. Since, 1835 be served under six sheriffs including Sheriff Compton from 1936 to 1947; Sheriff Earl Ladd from 1947 to 1957; Sheriff Herman McCormick from 1957 to 1969; Sheriff Carlos Mitchell from 1969 to 1977; Sheriff Hartsell Lewis from 1977 to 1979 and under Sheriff Denver Dennus from 1979 until his retirement in 1985. In his earlier years, Nub worked in the log woods. During many of these years, he logged in the day and worked as an officer at night.
Survivors include one son Bob Roy Knight of Plainview; two grandsons, Bobby Don Knight and Ronald Knight both of Plainview; a granddaughter, Mrs. Teresa Rogers of Clarksville, three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Plainview Jesus name Pentecostal Church with Rev. Lonnie Pennington officiating. Interment was in Salem Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in care of Dixon Funeral Home of Danville. Pallbearers were Harold Blalock, John Blankenship, Jeff Crites, Sheriff Denver Dennus, Phillip Young and James Paul Westlake.

Mrs. Ola Hill Knight, age 60, of Plainview, died early Saturday morning, January 19th in the Yell County Hospital in Danville. Mrs. Knight was a native of Gravelly, daughter of the late Bob and Tilley Hill. She was a house wife and of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include her husband, Roy "Nub" Knight of the home; one son, Bob Roy Knight of Plainview; one brother, Otho Hill of Waldron; also three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday, January 21 in the Plainview Assembly of God Church with Rev. Davis officiating, with interment in the Salem Cemetery near Plainview. Longtime Poultry Business Leader Jap Ladd Dies At Age 80
Ms. Jap Ladd, age 80, a pioneer of the poultry industry in Yell County, died Saturday, December 26, 1992. She was the only child of former Yell County Sheriff Earl E. Ladd and Edith Castleberry Ladd. During the mid to late 1940's she helped to organize and to manage a company that through the years grew from a feed store and a small group of growers to become a complete, integrated poultry company, which in later years was sold to a major company, that is widely known today as Wayne Poultry of Danville. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one aunt, Anna Castleberry Sullivan and a number of first cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 28, 1992 at 2:00 p. m. at the Danville United Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Glover and Reverend Mike Morey officiating. Burial was in the Earl E. Ladd Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers were cousins. Honorary pallbearers were A. C. Mowery, Fay Mathis, Leon Millsap, Dr. Walter P. Harris, Dr. David Williams, Jack Wilson, Bill Bob Wood, Roy Asbill and Bob Martin. Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home. Lewis Burvin Lambert age 60, of Gravelly died Friday afternoon, September 17, at the Yell County Hospital, He was a native of Story in Montgomery County, son of the late Lewis and Zoda Ray Lambert, a merchant-cattleman and owner of the GMC Company n Danville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Syler Lambert of the home; one son, Dale Lambert of Danville; one daughter, Janell Stamps of Waldron; one foster son, Tommy Vanover of Springdale, AR; two brothers, Noah Lambert of Chula and Vernon Lambert of Plainview; two sisters, Mary Finney and Etter McGill, both of Farmersville, CA; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Noah Earl Lambert, age 85, of Chula, AR died Friday at his home. He was a retired logger and fanner. He was a member of the Muddy Creek Church of God. He was a World War II Veteran of the U. S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by, two daughters, Imogene Lambert and Delitha Ilene Webb and by four brothers, Forrest, Burvin, Lonnie and Vernon Lambert.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lottie Lee Irons Lambert; two sons Clint Lambert of Aly and Clyde Lambert of Story; two daughters, Judy Waggoner of Chula and Inez Solley of Ft. Smith and a grandson of the home, Kevin Lambert; two sisters, Mary Finney and Etter McGill both of Farmersville, CA; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Died ... Mrs. Abbie M. Langford at 4:15 o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, January 18th, 1881, at her residence in Dardanelle, of pneumonia, aged 55 years less 7 days after two weeks of painful illness. The deceased was born at Old Dwight, in Pope County, Ark., Jan. 25th, 1826. She was a noble, good, kind hearted woman loved by all who knew her, and for many years a faithful member of the Presbyterian church.

Robert L. Lawrence, age 68 of Ola, died Wednesday at the AMI St. Mary's Medical Center in Russellville. He was a native of Yell County, son of the late Bert and Vira Jean Lawrence. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and served in and was wounded in the Philippines Islands. He was a member of the VFW at Ola and a member of the Baptist Church.

William Robert Leach 78, of Plainview, died Monday in a Little Rock Hospital. He was a farmer, a native of Adona and a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Earl and Ocie Leach, Watson and C. A. Leach, Birta; two daughters, Mrs. Emmett Owens, Watson and Mrs. E. F. LINDSAY - Alex J. "Pete" LeBeouf, who lived and worked here for 25 years as a pest control technician for Porterville. Developmental Center before retiring in 1990, died here on Friday, May 7, 1999. He was 67. Visitation will be held from 18 p. m. today and from 9 a. m. to noon Tuesday at Webb-Sanders; Funeral Home in Lindsay.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. Mr. LeBeouf was born in Woodside, La. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served from 1951-54. He was a paratrooper attached to the 508th Airborne and participated in Operation Longhorn maneuvers. A proud Cajun, he enjoyed family gatherings, special friends, a good-humored joke, home-cooked Cajun food, the outdoors and fun-filled trips to Las Vegas.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Elva Sue LeBeouf of Lindsay; a son, Bobby Dean LeBeouf of Lindsay; a daughter, Shirlene Boyd of Clovis; a brother, Wallace J. LeBeouf of Lindsay; a sister, Katherine Bilski of Baytown, Texas; three grandchildren, Brian, Amanda and Aaron LeBeouf, all of Strathmore; a son-in-law, Robert Boyd of Clovis; a daughter-in-law, Charia LeBeouf of Strathmore; and many nieces and nephews.

ELVA SUE LeBEOUF - Sue was born in Rover, AR, on December 9, 1935, and passed away on July 24, 2001, in Fresno, CA. She retired from the Pacific Bell Visalia office in 1974, having provided her services as a telephone operator for 20 years. Sue loved gatherings of family and friends, all of which were very special to her. Through the years she worked diligently to help provide the necessities for her family and always maintained a beautiful home. She enjoyed country music and looked forward to the next fun filled trip to Las Vegas. She was a master at video keno and poker and won many large jackpots. She also enjoyed the many fresh fruits the valley produced and grew apricots and tomatoes in her yard. Living in Lindsay for over 58 years of her life was a good match for her. Sue enjoyed the friendship of her neighbors, local bank, grocery store, mechanics, etc. as they were always ready to help with anything she needed, and she really felt safe and part of the small town community.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Alex J. "Pete" LeBeouf. Sue is survived by a son, Bobby Dean LeBeouf, and wife, Flora of Porterville; a daughter, Shirlene Kay Boyd, and husband, Robert of Clovis, and three grandchildren, Brian Amanda, and Aaron LeBeouf, all of Porterville.
Visitation will be held at Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay on Thursday, July 26, 2001 from 1:00 to 7:00 P. M. John L. Lewis, age 79, a former resident of Yell County, died in a hospital in Ft. Smith on July 13, 1986. He was the son of the late Barney and Ellen Cathy Lewis and he is survived by two sisters, Eula Willard and Vade White, both of Ft. Smith.
He was born in Rover but spent a number of years working in Los Angeles, CA. When he retired he moved to Ft. Smith where he has resided for several years.

Mrs. Lily Jean "Susie" Lewis, age 60, of Little Rock died Thursday, July 31, 1986 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. She is a native of Gravelly and the daughter of the late Herman and Lily Caviness Clements.
Survivors include her husband, Odell Lewis Jr. two daughters, Mrs. Bobbye A. Garner of Little Rock and Mrs. Becky S. Hearrell of Russellville; one brother, W. H. Clements of Waldron; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at the Gravelly Methodist Church August 2 with Rev. Steve Hearrell officiating. Burial was in the Parks Cemetery at Gravelly by Cornwell Funeral Service.

Mrs. Lola M. Lewis, age 80, of Story, AR, died Wednesday, March 13, 1996 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born November 22, 1915 in Story, AR to the late Mr. Jim Wallace and the late Mrs. Jon Anna Robertson Wallace. She was united in marriage to Mr. Noble R. Lewis on September 7, 1935 in Story, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1987. She had made her home in Story since 1966. She was a housewife.
Survivors are two sons, Loyd Lewis of Story, AR and Leon Lewis of Aly, AR; two sisters, Cora McGill of California and Jessie Short of Ola, AR; one brother, Jimmy Wallace of Danville, AR; four grandchildren, James Saveall, Keith Saveall, Brenda Qualls and Sandra Lewis; one great-granddaughter, Leandra Stogsdill.
Funeral services were March 15 at the Muddy Creek Church of God with Rev. Jimmy Scott and Rev. Ronny Noles officiating. Interment was in the Reed Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Wallace, R. J. Mrs. Myrtle A. Ellis Lewis, age 80, of Plainview, AR died Sunday, June 26, 1988 at the Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was a native of Plainview, daughter of the late James W. and Millie Hall Ellis, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Edd Lewis of the home; four daughters, Mildred Bethel of St. Joseph, MO, Myrlene Chamberlin of Brown Wood, TX, Elvia Jean Forsythe of Plainview and Dorothy Alverson of Plainview; four sisters, Flora L. CLARKSVILLE -- Joseph M. Lipe, 89, of Coalinga, Calif., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 15, 1913, at Gravelly to Marcellus and Amy Hunnicutt Lipe.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Hankins Lipe; a son, Joe Allen Lipe of Morro Bay, Calif.; a daughter, Billie Martin of Clarksville; three sisters, Helen Harris of Paris, and Eula Hall and Sula Shock of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Robert and Chris Prevett of Clarksville, Donna Truran of Santa Maria, Calif., Judy Starr of Hanford, Calif., Sherri Middleton, Atoka, Okla., and Carolyn DeVasure of Turlock, Calif.; 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Lola Bell Lockerby, age 86, of Wilburton, passed away January 7, 1988 in Wilburton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was born January 12, 1901 in Rover, Arkansas.

Funeral services were held January 9, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel, under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Wilburton. Rev. Mrs. Gussie Dora Lofland, age 92, of Bluffton, AR died Friday, February 4, 1994 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born February 25, 1901 in Bluffton to the late Seth William and Rose Malone Lofland. She was a retired school teacher with the Fourche Valley School District and a life time member of the Bluffton Methodist Church.
Survivors two nephews, Billy Seth Lofland, Sr. Briggsville, AR and Tom Caviness, Jr. Texarkana, AR; a niece, Betty Rose Linebarier, Camden, AR; nine great nephews and nieces.

Jo Breashears Lofland, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 82, resident of Little Rock passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Rover to the late John S. Breashears and Ola Brown Breashears. Ms. Lofland had a passion for working in her yard with flowers, gardening, and cooking and sharing her bounty with others. She went to work for the Arkansas State Police in the accident record section in 1959 and retired in 1987. She was a hard worker, and dedicated loyal employee, always trying to help others.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Bales and husband Jack of Hot Springs, and Lena Wall and Ray Sullivan of Mabelvale; two brothers, Baxter Breashears and Leroy Breashears, both of Russellville; sister, Mary Hunt of Danville; grandson, Wes Gross and wife Shelly of Little Rock; great-granddaughter, Lacey Lacey Gross of Little Rock, and a host of nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Bobby, Ned, Ted, Hayes, and Bill Breashears, and a sister, Sue Lewis Cox.
