Parrish, Solomon

Solomon Parrish, age 69, passed away September 28, 1958 at the home of his son in Snyder, Tex. Mr. Parrish had been a resident of Booneville for the last 20 years and was visiting his son at the time of his death.

He is survived by two sons, Otto of Snyder and Melvin of Danville; three daughters Nora Oden of North Little Rock, Ruth Hotaling of West Lebanon, N. Y. and Jean Stafford of Ft. Parsley, Anna Love (Harmon)

Anna Love Harmon Parsley, 94, of Dardanelle, AR died July 29, 2011 at Hot Springs, AR. She was born July 15, 1917 in Dardanelle to the late Kathryn Love Harmon and Hayes Allen Harmon. She taught school in Dardanelle for 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of almost 60 years, Kenneth Parsley.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Parsley McDowell of Hot Springs; granddaughters, Amanda McDowell Patterson and husband, Trent of Richmond, VA, Amy Love McDowell Whorton and husband, Dr. Greg Whorton of Hot Springs; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hayes, Helen Claire Whorton of Hot Springs and Jack Patterson of Richmond, VA.

Services were held Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, where Mrs. Parsley was a dedicated member. Parsley, Kenneth M.

Kenneth M. Parsley, age 87, died Monday, May 14, 2001 in Dardanelle, AR. He was born July 29, 1913 in Hindsville, AR to the late Samuel G. and Cuynthia Brashears Parsley. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School in 1945. He served from 1942-1945 with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII, including action at Guadalcanal and New Hebrides. He was a 50 year member of the Arkansas State Bar Association. He was a past member of American Legion, Arkansas Oil and Gas Association, Rotary Club and Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce. He served as the city attorney for Dardanelle for 30 years. He served as charge lay leader, administrative board member and adult Sunday school teacher in the First United Methodist Church of Dardanelle.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Love Harmon Parsley; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Richard McDowell of Hope, AR; two granddaughters and husbands, Amanda and Trent Patterson, Austin, TX and Amy Love and Dr. Greg Whorton of Hot Springs, AR; a great-granddaughter; nephew and nieces.

A memorial service will be held today, Wednesday, May 16 at 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church, Dardanelle. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle. Parson, Myrtle

Myrtle Parson, age 75 of Ola, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born December 24, 1934 to the late Bill Parson and Vennie Wadsworth Smith in Yell County, AR.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Parson; step-father and mother, John and Vennie Wadsworth Smith; stepbrothers and sisters, Hazel Smith, Floyd Smith, Jay Smith, Grace Polmere, Ozelma Blumhof and Jewell Dickey.

Survivors include several cousins and her family of 33 years at Yell County Nursing Home.

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Beatrice Parsons, age 66, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, March 4, 1987. She was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Parsons; a son, Carter Parsons of Dardanelle; a brother, Ernest Murphy of California; a sister, Mrs. Bill Flannigan of Alma, and two grandsons, Jason and Jessie Parsons.

Parsons, Bertha (Madaries) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Bertha Parsons, 82, of Danville died February 23 at a Blytheville hospital. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and was the wife of the late Tom Parsons.

Survivors include three stepsons, Carl Parsons of Booneville, Bill Parsons of Weatherford, Tex. And Elmer Parsons of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. C.W. Maughn of Avon Park, Fla., and Mrs. Clarence McCormick of Blytheville; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dale Crawley of Booneville, Mrs. Edna Mitchell of Fayetteville and Mrs. Erwin Kimbrough of Marlow, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Helen Butler of Texas; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Clifford Oneal Parsons, age 74, of Dardanelle died Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home. He was born June 9, 1940, at Wild Cat Hollow to the late Dave and Berta Hodges Parsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Billy Duffield.

David James Parsons, infant son of Luc and Maddy Parsons, became an angel on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Saint Mary's Regional Hospital in Russellville.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather James "Tiny" Parsons.

Ernest Gerald (Ernie) Parsons, 72, born in Wildcat Hollow near Dardanelle, left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on October 24. He was a veteran of the U. S. navy, and served on the U. S. S. Intrepid.

He is preceded in death by parents, Jim and Erle Parsons; brothers, Clarence, Junior, G. H. and J. C. Parsons; one sister Modene Derrick.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Parsons; sons, Steve Parsons and wife Georgia, and Michael Parsons all of Ozark; sisters, Irene Crader and husband Dennis of Leadington, MO., and Lorene Hansell and husband Alva of Desloge, MO.; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Fred Parsons, age 72, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, December 31, 1985. He was a retired sawmill worker and a veteran of World War II.

Parsons, James Russell "Tiny"

James Russell Parsons, known to all of us as "Tiny", left this earth Thursday, June 12, 2014. He was born April 10, 1948 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Merle Marie Harrigan and John Russell Parsons. Tiny was a retired Air Force TSGT, a member of the Masonic Lodge, attended Jesus Name Pentecostal of Plainview, an avid Hunter, fisherman and poker player.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Russell Parsons.

Survivors include his Mother Merle Marie Carey of Sarasota, FL; Sister Phylis Corriea, of Sarasota, FL; John and Judy Parsons of Sarasota. FL; Linda and husband Carl Cooper of Mesa AZ; and Allen Parsons of Falmouth, MA, four children, Steven Parsons of Orlando, FL; and Luc J. Parsons of Ola, AR, Katharine Nelson of Little Rock, AR and Joseph Horn of Morrilton, AR. James Washington Parsons, age 84, died Friday, March 14 1986 at Dardanelle. He was a retired sawmiller and farmer and the son of the late George and Francis Taylor Parsons.

Elmer Partain, 86, of Brownsville, Tennessee, formerly of Plainview, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Jackson, TN. The son of Robert and Ola Keener) Partain, he was born January 14, 1918 in Bluffton, AR. He was a Navy Veteran and member of the First Baptist Church of Plainview.

Survivors include his wife Edna Partain of Brownsville, TN; a son and daughter-in-law James and Brenda Partain of Rogers, AR; a daughter and son-in-law Marylin and Randy Kipley of Brownsville, TN; four grandchildren and spouses William and Tonya Smith, Phillip and Jamie Partain, Kim and Michael Millwood, Stephanie and Randy Nichols; six grandchildren.

Partain, Fred

Fred Partain, age 82, a resident of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at the home of his daughter in Conway. He was born May 19, 1926, at Onyx, AR to George and Addie Keener Partain. He was reared in Onyx and lived the majority of his adult life in Dardanelle. Known to many as "Mr. Dardanelle, he was a dedicated servant to the Dardanelle Community. He served two years in the United States Army during World War II before beginning a 37 1/2 year career with Arkansas Power and Light. He served on the Dardanelle City Council for 10 years and was a member of the Dardanelle Fire Department for 20 years which he served eight as chief. He is past quartermaster of the Veterans of Foreign War Boyce Woods Post 3141 and past master of the Bright Star Masonic Lodge No. 213. He provided leadership in school related activities including band and athletic clubs in Dardanelle earning him the honor of "Mr. Sand Lizard" in 1974, and was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Robbie Lee Green Partain; and two siblings, Louie Partain and Verla Partain Mashek.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna Partain of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Lyn and Tim Haralson of Conway; four grandchildren, Timothy Christy and his wife Melissa, Jordan and Skyler Haralson, all of Conway, and Camille Hofstetter of Piano, Texas; and a sister, Erma Nell Peugh of Dardanelle.

The funeral was Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle with the Rev. Kelly Pearson officiating. Masonic rites provided by the Bright Star Masonic Lodge No. 213. Burial with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign War Boyce-Woods Post 3141, in the Chickalah Cemetery at Chickalah under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Pallbearers were James Obie Woods, Kenneth Jones, Robbie Lewis, David Gates, Robert Beck, and Billy Haralson. Maxey L. D. "Jack" Partain, age 72, of Texas City passed away Monday, December 9, 2002 at his residence in Texas City. He was born January 21, 1930 in Rover, Arkansas and had resided in Texas City for one year formerly of Plainview, Arkansas. He served in the U. S. Army and then retired from the US Air Force after 21 1/2 years and Merchant Marines for 20 years.

Carl Partin, age 85, of Russellville died Friday, July 26, 1985, at his home. He was a retired employee of the state Parks and Recreation Department, a farmer and a member of the Woodlawn Free Will Baptist Church.

HAVANA - Claud Partin, age 72, of Havana died Friday, July 25, 1986 at St. Vincent Infirmary at Little Rock. He was the son of the late George Partin and Rovina Kendrick Partin, a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of the Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Partin; a son, Harold Partin of Dardanelle; a daughter, Barbara Taylor of Danville, and five grandchildren.

Ruth Mae Blankenship Partin, age 76 of Clarksville died Sunday. Mrs. Partin was born January 2, 1917 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late James R. and Alice R. Spears Blankenship. She was a housewife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Partin.

Survivors include a son, Lee Partin of Russellville; two daughters, Violet Bledsaw, Lamar and Betty Askew of North Little Rock; three sisters, Josephine Gilbert of Pleasant Plains, Irene Nash of Centerville and Lorene King of Ola.
