Murphy, Mary Jean (Pound)

Mary Jean Murphy, retired, age 88 of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She graduated from Danville High School in Arkansas in 1940. Mary was a WAC and served as an Army recruiter during World War II. During this time, she went to nursing school, then married Walter Scott Murphy on June 7, 1944. They gave birth to and raised two children, Nancy and Michael. Mary spent 32 years as an Air Force wife, traveling the world and then retiring with her husband in 1974. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Bethany Methodist in Austin, Watauga Elementary, and led daily devotionals and songs at Autumn Leaves.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lovick and Lillie Pound, by her husband, Walter, sister, Ruth Thomas, and granddaughter, Cristine Murphy Montgomery.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Helen Murphy of Bastrop; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bob Burleson of Haltom City; two grandchildren, Bryan S. Murphy of Ogden, Utah and Michael R. Cote' Jr. of Austin; great-granddaughters, Chasity Pacheco and Madeline Murphy, step great-grandson, Jory Pacheco, and step great-great-grandson, Jory John Pacheco, all of Ogden, Utah, and great grandson Cormac Murphy Cote'-Skotak of Austin.

Graveside services will be held at 10:45 am, Wednesday, January 26 in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. Mary Jean Murphy, 88, retired, of Fort Worth died Wednesday, January 19, 2011.

Murphy, Richard Marion (Dr.)

Dr. Richard Marion Murphy, 62, died at his home at Belleville, Friday morning, May 8. He had been in ill health for several years. Dr. Murphy came to Havana thirteen years ago, but for the past four years has resided at Belleville.

Murphy, Rose

Rose Murphy, age 90 of Dardanelle, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born January 19, 1915 at Chicago, IL to the late James and Elsie Kazda Prochazkia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Murphy; and a brother, Frank Prochazkia, a sister Blanche Miller.

Survivors include a son, Cecil Don Murphy of Dardanelle; brother, James Prochazkia of Dardanelle; three sisters, Elsie Dortch, Marie Davis, Bettye McEntyre all of Dardanelle.

Murphy, Woodrow W.

Woodrow W. Murphy, age 67, a native of Ola, died Wednesday, February 26, at Fontana, California. Murphy was born at Ola, January 13, 1919, a son of the late James Lee "Pat" Murphy and the late Violet Elnora Marks Murphy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific. Murphy lived in Eureka, Calif. for 33 years, employed by a supply company there, moving to Fontana after his retirement two years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea E. Murphy; a son, Dan Murphy of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, James Howard Murphy of Little Rock, and Guy W. Murphy of Conway and three grandchildren.

Murray, Demetria "Dee" (Capps)

November 1, 1924 - November 23, 2012 Demetria "Dee" Capps Murray, 88, of Huber Heights, Ohio, formerly of Wilson passed peacefully in her home Friday. She was under the care of Hospice of Dayton and the comfort of her family.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Vance Harrell will officiate. The family will receive friends 10 - 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. "Dee" was retired from UFCW and went on to own and run several businesses in Southern California and later in Wilson, with her husband, Paul. She was a proud member of the Wilson First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dee was a talented artist that loved to china paint, quilt and spend time with her grandchildren. She was beloved by friends and family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and thought of often with warm memories.

"Dee" is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Wehunt of Huber Heights, Ohio; her grandchildren, Lisa Tedesco, Pamela Hastings and husband, John, Brian Hograve and wife, Rebecca Patterson, Kevin Hograve, and Candace Hograve; her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Stefan, Carmen, Dolan, Alexis, Joseph, Destiny, Hannah and Abigail; her sister, Jenelle Capps Peeler of Fresno, CA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Murray, her parents, General Washington (1883 - 1964) and Nannie Toney Capps (1888 - 1979); her step- son, Greg Murray; her sisters Alice Capps Wallace, Oneida Capps Rodgers, Louise Capps Cleveland and Ruth Capps Alman and her brothers, Samuel Capps and James Capps. Eula Mellanee Murray, age 89, of Bryant, AR died Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Bryant Health Care Center. She was born January 13, 1916 in Waveland, AR to the late Arthur and Hazel Vaughn Bradberry. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Church of Christ in Havana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Murray and a son, Ben Murray.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Murray of Belleville, AR; two daughters, Hazel Hopkins of Fairfield, CA and Joanne Vatter of Adairsville, GA; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Murray, Kenneth Wayne

Kenneth Wayne Murray, age 35, of Russellville, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He was born March 30, 1968 in Dardanelle, AR. He was a member of Kelley Heights Baptist Church, Ducks Unlimited, Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants For Ever, and worked as a nuclear contractor. He was an avid hunter and sportsman as well as a staunch Razorback fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Murray.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Cooper Murray of Russellville; two daughters, Lauren and Megan Murray, both of Russellville; mother, Irene Murray of Russellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Sharon Murray of Russellville, Keith and Jo Ann Murray of Russellville; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Marty Briscoe of Russellville; four nephews, five nieces.

Funeral services were Thursday, February 26, 2004 at First Baptist Church in London with Rev. Charles King and Tim Via officiating. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Lillian Irene Murray, age 89, of Russellville died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. She was born October 3, 1927 at Steve, Arkansas to the late W.L. and Polly Miller West. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in London and the Eastern Star Chapter 505 in Russellville. She loved her family and the times they all spent together. She loved gardening, her roses, sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billie Lee Murray; sons, Kenny Murray, Keith Murray; brother, John West and sisters, Etoy, Hazel, Estelle and Etta Mae.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Briscoe and husband Marty of Russellville, Gary Murray and wife Sharon of Russellville; one sister, Ruby Dickinson; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Pauline Murray, age 88, of Santa Paula, CA died Wednesday, January 12, 2000 in an Oxnard, CA hospital. She was born February 3, 1911 in Havana, AR and was a four year Ventura County resident coming from Russellville, AR.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rick Dominguez of Santa Paula; grandchildren, Michele Ming, Ray Ming, Jr. Julie Ming, Adel Murray, Carl Murray and Dalene Davis and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zelmar Murray and two sons, Shelton and Dale Murray.

Muse, Donald Ray

Donald Ray Muse, age 64, of Ola died Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born August 1, 1952 at Amarillo, Texas to the late William Monroe Muse Jr and Evelyn Nadine Brock. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a truck driver for over 30 years. He loved to go hunting, fishing, horseback riding and playing with his dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Nathaniel Dodson and two sisters, Winona Dodson and Zona Marie Dodson.

Survivors include his life partner and mother of his children, Peggy Lou Caldwell of Ola; five children, Jeff Robinson of Dardanelle, Brad Robinson (Carrie) of Springdale, Kristie Robinson of Fort Smith, Jessica Walker of Ola, Sidney Muse of Lavaca; two sisters, Sandra Kay Muse Radford of Dover, Billie Dean Muse Harris (Charlie) of Atkins; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

Mary Kathryn Manry Musgrove, age 81, of Dardanelle passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at Mitchells Nursing Home in Danville. She was born March 10, 1935, at Polk County, Texas to the late Edgar Alton and Maude Estelle Thomas Manry. She loved watching hummingbirds and taking care of her roses.

Harold G. Myers, age 69, of Dardanelle, AR died Tuesday at his home. He was born September 14, 1931 in the Omega community near Dardanelle, AR, son of the late Earl and Dellar Pearson Myers. He worked for Keenan's (now Bruce Oakley) as a grain elevator operator for 48 years, and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Bright Star Lodge 213.

Jewel Opal Myers, age 87, of Danville, AR died Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born in Chickalah, AR on July 16, 1912 daughter of the late Elvis Verdo and Charlotte Craft Conner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orran P. Myers; a brother, James E. Conner and three sisters, Maybelle Roe, Virginia Dean and Euel Prim.

Survivors include a brother, R. L. Connors of Tulsa, OK and numerous nephews and nieces.

Myers, Mary Ellen Russell

Mary Ellen Russell Myers, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, formerly of Russellville, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Landsun Health Service Center, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was born on October 28, 1910, in Belleville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Jasper Newton Russell and Mary Adeline Russell. She received her education in Arkansas and was a graduate of Belleville High School. She attended Arkansas Tech University.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Housley and Reverend George Myers; one son, Gary David Housley; two sisters, Fannie Reasoner and Kate Nunn; four brothers, Charles Russell, Barney Russell, Fred Russell and Dewey Russell.

Survivors include a brother, J. D. Russell of Havasu City, Arizona; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services were held at First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad, New Mexico on Wednesday, April 30, 2003. She was buried in Carlsbad Cemetery. Mary Etta Myers, age 91, of Russellville, died Sunday, October 2, 2003 at St. Mary's Regional Med. Ctr. She was a native of Illinois, a restaurant cook, and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Myers.

Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Rennie and Robert Reeve of Delaware; 4 grandchildren, Donna Spaght of Russellville, Bobbie Pool of Danville, Robert Reeve, Jr. of Plainview, and Rennie (Tinker) Rollans of Delaware.

Mr. Orran Phillip Myers, age 90, of Danville, AR. died Friday, March 5, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born October 4, 1908 in Shirley, AR. to the late John and Sarah Tackett Myers. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Opal Connor Myers and three nieces.

Myers, Pearl

Pearl Myers, age 88, a resident of Ola, AR died Sunday, January 2, 2000 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville, AR. She was born on November 18, 1911 at Ola, AR, to Giles and Neoma Ellis Myers. She was a school teacher for 43 years, teaching in the Fort Smith Public School District for 31 years. She was a graduate of the Arkansas Teacher's College in Conway. She was a member of the Local, State and National Professional Teacher's Association and a life time member of the First Baptist Church in Ola, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ruby Myers Holiman.

She is survived by, a nephew, John Holiman of Pasadena, TX; two nieces, Laura Holiman Irish of Huffman, TX and Nicole Brack of Pasadena, TX; two great nephews, Jon Michael Irish and Brandon Irish both of Huffman, TX and one great-niece, Keely Brack of Pasadena, TX.

Funeral service was January 6, 2000 at the First Baptist Church of Ola, AR officiated by Rev. Rick Balintine. Burial was in the Sandlin Cemetery at Ola, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Nabours, Gary Lynn

Gary Lynn Nabours, age 56, of Russellville died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born May 21,1954 at Morrilton to the late Walter and Ethel Chance Nabours. He loved stock car racing, hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Nabours.

Survivors include his four sons, Adam and Barbara Nabours of Dardanelle, Daryle and Melissa Nabours of Russellville, Scott and Juanita Nabours of Crossett, Andrew and Brittany Nabours of Russellville; several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and his companion, Debra Doyle. Memorial services were May 16, at Elm Wood Cemetery in Morrilton with Bro. Darwin Barnhouse officiating. Pallbearers: Jerry, Donnie and Coy Turney, Tommy East and Randy Randall.

James Ray Nail, age 64, of Ola went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his home. He was born April 14, 1949 in Russellville, AR to James Thomas & Lois Lorene Riley Nail. He was a member of the Ola First Baptist Church and Kingston Hunting Club. He worked for the Arkansas State Highway Department for 20 years. He also loved fishing, hunting, going to church camp, collecting coins and his grandkids. Preceded in death by his parents and an Aunt Lucille Kelly.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years Pansy Nail; son & daughter-in-law Kirk & Felicia McConnell of Centerville; daughter & son-in-law Sonya & Doug Daniel of Alma; brothers & sisters-in-law, Tony & Sherri Nail of Harkeys Valley; Lynn & Gloria Nail of Ola; sisters & brother-in-law Elizabeth Walker of Ola; Katherine & Jim Melnick of Lonoke; grandchildren Dawson, Dallas and Drew Daniel, Kirsten & Shawn McConnell; uncle Cecil Kelly of Tulsa, OK; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Nail, Lois Lorrean (Riley)

Lois Lorrean Nail, age 83 of Ola, an angel that left this world on June 28, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born December 30, 1928 at Cedar Glades, Arkansas to Jim and Mary Cooper Riley. She was a cook and a member of the Ola First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom Nail and one sister Lucille Kelly.

Survivors include three sons; James Nail and wife Pansy, Tony Nail and wife Sherri and Lynn Nail all of Ola; two daughters, Elizabeth Walker of Ola and Katherine Melnick and husband Jim of Lonoke; one brother-in- law Cecil Kelly of Tulsa, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was June 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Ola with Brother Bill Hatfield and Brother Kirk McConnell officiating. Burial was in Petillo Hill Cemetery. Nail, Mary E.

Mary E. Nail, age 87 of Danville died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born May 30, 1917 in Waveland, Arkansas to the late Henry and Carrie Chappell) Hood. She was a retired sales clerk, Valedictorian of her Havana High School graduating class, and a member of the Dr. John Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Belleville.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Billmyer and Vernon Nail.

Survivors are a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services were held June 15, 2004 at the John Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Belleville with Rev. Bill Storts officiating. Interment will be at Moores Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Mary Elizabeth Nail, age 88 of Ola, AR died Wednesday, November 12, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born in Tucumcari, NM, January 13, 1909, daughter of the late Marion and Elizabeth Snow Cooper. She was a mother and homemaker, a member of the Ola Assembly of God Church. She was the widow of John Nail.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Nail of Ola, AR and Lucille Kelly of Tulsa, OK; a son-in-law, Cecil Kelly of Tulsa, OK; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service was November 15, 1997 at the Ola Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating. Burial was in Petillo Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Nail, Sybil Belle

Sybil Belle Nail, age 95, of Dardanelle died Saturday, July 10, 2005 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born November 28, 1909 in Harkey's Valley to the late Riley and Ari Gunter Robinson. She was a former cook for the Centerville School District and retired after thirty years as a nanny and housekeeper for Dr. Luker. She was a member of the Centerville Assembly of God Church for 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Doc Rector and Pete Nail and a son, Opal Rector.

Survivors are two sons. Walter Roy Rector of Dardanelle, Donnie Ray Rector of Russellville a daughter, Madge Louise Carothers of Centerville, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren-and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centerville Assembly of God church with Brother Clelland Tilley and Sister Jean Findley. DANVILLE - David A. Napier, age 64, of Danville, died Saturday, October 26, 1985. He was a farmer, a chief deputy sheriff and tax collector for Yell County, a funeral director with Cornwall Funeral Home in Danville and a World War II veteran.

He was a funeral director at Cornwell Funeral Home, a native of Rover, and son of the late Henry and Mattie McWayne Napier. He was a veteran of World War II, and a former chief deputy sheriff and tax collector of Yell County.

Mae Napier, age 77, of Benton, AR, formerly of Danville, AR died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born June 30, 1926 in Rover, AR to the late Iverson and Nettie Small Rice. She was a former Yell County Deputy Tax Collector and Recorder for the City of Danville and a retired dental and medical assistant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton and a homemaker and mother and Nana to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Napier.

She is survived by three daughters. Donna Holland and Sue Steward both of Benton, AR and Pam Alexander of Danville, AR six grandchildren and spouses, Sony a Steward and Dana Fashing of Ft. Smith, AR, Brad Steward, Monty & Stacie Cornwell and Brian Cornwell all of Benton, AR; three great-children and a special friend and care giver, Peggy Reed.

Service was March 16, 2004 at Cornwell Chapel in Danville, AR with Bro. John McCourt officiating. Interment was in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Napier, Mae - Former Danville Recorder, Deputy Clerk

Mae Napier, 77, of Benton, formerly of Danville died on Saturday, March 15, 2004 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She served as the Chief Deputy Tax Collector for several years under Sheriff Herman McCormick. Her late husband, David Napier, served as a Deputy Sheriff for McCormick for many years. Ms. Napier also served as Danville City Recorder in the early 1970's.

DARDANELLE - Bertia Irene Blankenship Nash, 84, of Dardanelle died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born October 29, 1928, at Rover, to the late James and Bertie Spears Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Nash.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Martin and husband, Ed, of Yantis, Texas; and a host of family and friends, especially the one ones she worked with at the nursing home.

John Robert Nash, Sr., age 69, of Dardanelle died April 8, 2002 at Dardanelle Nursing Home He was born April 2, 1933 at McCroy, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Alvie and Maudie Kendrick Nash. He was a mechanic for heavy-duty equipment.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Irene Blankenship Nash; a son, John Robert Nash, Jr. of Little Rock; daughters, Jeanette Nash and Evelyn Rogers of Little Rock, Sherry Nash of Hot Springs; step-daughter, Limits Martin of Greenville, Ohio; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Harrison of Idaho and a nephew, Ernest Duck of Pine Bluff.

Graveside services were Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville with the Rev. Charlie King officiating.
