McBride, Boyce Oneal

Boyce Oneal McBride age 88 of Russellville, AR died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Legacy Lodge. He was born December 7, 1922 at New Blaine to the late Hale and Pearl Humphrey McBride. He was a Christian and a WWII survivor as a Paratrooper in the Philippines and the Pacific where he received two Purple Hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Alma McBride of Russellville; daughter, Cindy Zens and husband Bill of Kirkland, WA; two sons, Michael McBride and wife Janet of La Mirada, CA, David McBride of Phoenix, AZ and three grandchildren.

Mcbride, Carrie Faye

Carrie Faye McBride, age 96, of Killeen, TX died Saturday, March 18, 2000 at the Killeen Nursing Home. She was born June 10, 1903 to the late Thomas Turner and Amanda Daniels Turner. She received her education at Havana High School, was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by, her husband, Ollis McBride.

She is survived by, two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Wallace Nonnemacher of Belton, TX and Billy Jean and Joe Home of Mahtomed, MN; grandchildren, Carolyn Duggar of Belton, TX, Jamie Cisneros of Arlington, TX, Thomas McLean of Mansfield, TX, Charles Home of Mahtomed, MN; great-grandchildren, Holly, Haley, Richard and Glenn Duggar, Trent Jackson, Patrick James and Andrew McLean also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were March 21 at the Havana Presbyterian Church with burial following in the Havana Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to your church. McBride, Chessie (Hale) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Chessie Hale McBride, age 80, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grace Adcock, in Dardanelle, Saturday morning after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Yell county, and a member of the Cedar Creek Methodist church.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Hale Watkins, Dardanelle, Mrs. Lillie Parker, Little Rock; one brother, Milus Hale, Havana; two sons, Jean McBride and Roy McBride of Abilene, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Adcock, Mrs. Susan Nichols, Altheimer; Mrs. Euda Edmondson, North Little Rock; Mrs. Ollie Lakey, Paris, also by 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Cedar Creek Methodist church, Sunday, at 2:30 p. m. by Rev. C. B. Farmer, assisted by Rev. James Haggard. Burial was in the Cedar Creek cemetery under direction of the Cornwell Funeral service. DANVILLE - Claude McBride, age 95, of Danville died Tuesday, January 28, 1986 at Mitchell Nursing Home. He was a native of Havana, son of the late A. H. and Cornelia Bird McBride, and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph McBride of Danville and Raymond McBride of Paramount, Calif.; a stepson, Hoyt Ensey of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Eula Lampkins of McGehee; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

McBride, David Boyce

David Boyce MeBride, age 57, of Tempe, Arizona died Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born January 31, 1959 at Lynwood, California to Boyce and Alma Stafford McBride. He was a high school graduate of La Mirada High School and attended Long Beach State College and was a computer programmer. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and was an avid bicyclist.

He was preceded in death by his father, Boyce McBride; grandparents, Hale and Pearl McBride, Olger and Lillie Stafford.

Survivors include his mother, Alma McBride of Russellville; sister, Cindy Zens (Bill); brother, Mike McBride (Janet); three nephews and his loving cats, Bubba and Aztec.

Edith C. McBride, age 50, passed away at Doctors Hospital in Lakewood, CA, Wednesday, October 3, 1986 after a long illness. A resident of the Paramount and Belleflower, CA area for several years. She was a retired 20 year employee of Pacific Telephone Co.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond, formerly of Havana; one daughter, Daliah and a step son, Dean from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; her mother, Iva Carrell, Belleflower, CA; two brothers, Morton and Tom Carrell from Belleflower, CA and one grandson.

Mrs. Effie Reed McBride, age 83, of Little Rock, formerly of Yell County, died Wednesday, October 2, 1985, at Doctors Hospital at Little Rock. She was the daughter of the late Enoch and Arbelia Farmer Reed, widow of Victor McBride and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Quinton McBride of Benton; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie DeLaney of Little Rock; a sister, Mrs. Lula Woodard of Amarillo, Texas, and two grandchildren, Steven and Leah McBride.

DANVILLE - Mrs. Elvie Shott Ensey McBride, age 76, of Danville, died Saturday, November 24, 1984 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was a native of the Piney community in Yell County. She was the daughter of Pete and Ethel Simmons Shott. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.

Ernest McBride, age 79, of Ventura, CA died April 17, 1997. He was born on September 2, 1917 at Havana, AR. He was a 47 year resident of Ventura, CA. He worked for Yellow Cab, retiring in 1988 after 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian in 1988.

McBride, Gladys (Anthony)

Mrs. Gladys Mae Mothersell McBride, of Danville, died Wednesday evening, November 18, in the St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville after a lengthly illness. She was a native of Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank Anthoney and Effie McKenney Anthoney, a member of the Christian Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph McBride of the home; one sister, Blanche Ware of Bellflower, CA; two brothers, T.R. Anthoney of Ukiah, CA and Sterling F. Anthoney of Cave Junction, Oregon; two step-children, Ralph McBride of Salem, Oregon and Carolyn Benson of San Moreno, CA.

Glynn McBride of Little Rock, AR died Sunday, November 12, 2000 in Parkway Village Health Center in Little Rock. He was born August 19, 1914 in Briggsville, AR, son of John Henry and Agnes McBride. Dr. McBride received a B. S. Degree from the University of Arkansas and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin after having served as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II. His professional career was varied and distinguished as a Veterans Training Program Supervisor in Missouri; County Agricultural Extension Agent in Fayetteville, Russellville, Clarksville and Clinton, AR. Sabbatical in the Tariff Department in Washington, DC; economic advisor to the Government of Pakistan, and was a professor of Agricultural Economics at Michigan State University for thirty years. There he wrote a college textbook and numerous publications, bulletins and articles and was well known as a teacher, researcher, dairy specialist and speaker. His greatest joy was working with the students. He was a member of the Parkway Place Baptist Church in Little Rock and a number of honorary professional organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Roberta Briggs and Anna Mae Evans.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mary Jo Humphrey McBride; son and daughter-in-law, David Glynn and Lisa McBride of Columbia, MO; a sister, Marjorie Fendley of Little Rock, AR; eight nephews; one niece and other relatives, friends and former students.

Funeral service will be 10 a. m. Thursday, November 16, 2000 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock with Rev. Allan Greer and Rev. Jesse Reed officiating. Guinn McBride, age 76, of Havana, AR died Thursday, January 4, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was born in Havana, AR on September 16, 1924 son of the late Wayne and Alma Wardlaw McBride. He owned and operated McBride's Grocery in Havana, being in the family business for over 60 years in Havana. He also had served a short term in the United States Coast Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Frankie Lou Apple McBride; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolyn and Kelly Boyd of Havana, AR and Gayla and Jim Edwards of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters and brother-in-law, Delena and Albert Duke of Magnolia, AR and Dolores McBride of Bella Vista, AR; sisters-in-law, Aliene Dodd Wangerin of Abilene, TX, Jane McBride of Jackson, TN and Nancy Gillespie of Belleville, AR; two granddaughters, Skylar and Kayley Frances Edwards of Fort Smith, AR and several nephews and nieces.

McBride, James Grady Gray

A sting by a yellow Jacket sustained two week's ago by James Grady Gray McBride, aged 36, of Palmyra, Lincoln County, caused his death at the Davis Hospital in Pine Bluff last Saturday. Despite treatment, the wound refused to heal and blood poisoning developed with fatal results. Mr. McBride was a resident of Dardanelle during 1926 and 1927, being local representative of the Standard Oil Co.

He is survived by. his wife and two daughters, Dorothy Lee and Doris Jean, also by his parents, a sister and three brothers. The many Dardanelle friends of the family deeply sympathize with the wife, daughters and other relatives in their great loss. Mcbride, Jerry Fox

Jerry Fox McBride, age 55, of Poplar Bluff, MO. died February 20, 1986 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. after complications of heart surgery. He was a veteran truck driver for Willis Shaw Frozen Express. Born August 29, 1930, in Havana, son of Mona and Audice McBride (deceased), he moved to Poplar Bluff in 1981. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

In August 1981, he married Rose Mary Wood, and she survives. Other survivors are two stepsons, Anthony and Bret Frostel both of Poplar Bluff, several cousins and aunts and uncles, many in Havana.

Marion Lester McBride, age 69, of near Danville died at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock Tuesday, February 25. He was born near Havana and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; and one brother; Ollice of Havana.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Belleville Friday with Rev. J.T. Holland and Rev. C.H. Farmer officiating. McBride, Mary Jo (Humphreys)

Mary Jo McBride, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on February 26, 2014. She was born March 9, 1920, in Rover, Arkansas, daughter of Reuben Humphreys and Annie Briggs Humphreys.

Mary Jo is survived by her son, Dr. David Glynn McBride, of Columbia, Missouri, and his wife, Lisa, and three grandchildren, Manuel, Jhon and Deme. She is also survived by her niece, Ann Huber, of Raytown, Missouri, and nephew, Willie Reuben Humphreys, of Cleveland, Missouri, as well as many other relatives, friends and former students from Madison, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arkansas and, most fondly, East Lansing, Michigan, where she was a teacher and Counselor in Lansing Public Schools for 30 years. Mary Jo received her BSHE Degree from the University of Arkansas, and her MA in Counseling from Michigan State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Glynn McBride, as well as her parents, Reuben and Annie; brothers, Nevelle, Laudelle and Sherman "Tip" Humphreys, and three sisters, Sybil Humphreys Pugh, and twin infants, Ouida and Freeda Humphreys. Mrs. McBride and her husband lived and worked in Peshawar, Pakistan for 2 years, from 1963 to 1965, under the auspices of the Ford Foundation, Michigan State University and the government of Pakistan, and traveled in Afghanistan, India, Egypt and many countries of Europe, on the way to Pakistan and back. Mary Jo was a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church in Little Rock, PEO, and other educational and honorary organizations. She will be remembered lovingly and always by all who knew her for her kindness, ready smile and ability to brighten any room. Hers was a sweet and gentle heart; she will be missed.

Funeral services was held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at Roller Chenal Funeral Home led by Rev. Allan Greer. A graveside service was held approximately two hours afterwards, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville, Arkansas. Mattie McBride of Havana passed away January 22, 2009 at the age of 93.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Willie Akins, her husband, Ovid McBride, and her grandson, Mickey Young. She was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church, a wonderful mother, homemaker and talented artist.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Davin (Dennis) of Little Rock and Teresa Salazar Rene) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Kristin and Julie all of Houston, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Marcus, Luren, Lindsey and Kyle. There was a graveside service at the McBride Cemetery on Monday, January 26, with Reverend Bill Storts officiating. Mr. Mitchell McBride, 54, near Dardanelle, formerly of Havana, died March 14.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen McBride, five children, Mrs. Jethro Wyatt, Louisiana; Wanda McBride, New Orleans; Patsy, Charles and Bobby Mitchell of the home. Two sisters, Mrs. Lennis King, Havana, Mrs. Maggie Ferguson, Cedar Creek and one brother, Hale McBride, California.

Mcbride, Nathan

Mr. Nathan McBride, age 86 last May 11, more widely and affectionately known as Scott, died at his home Jan. 4, 1938 after dropping on the sidewalk at the Wayne McBride store and having to be taken home.

Besides his wife Mr. McBride is survived by daughters Mrs. Norah Burcham, Royce, Texas; Mrs. Anna May Buttenfield, Tyler, Texas; Mrs. K. Harkey, near Belleville and Mrs. Ola Greenlee, of near Havana and sons, Homer and Audice, Havana and E. L. McBride, Waveland.

The services were in the Assembly of God church, with its pastor, Rev. Mr. Justice, in charge, assisted by Rev. C. J. Wade, pastor of Methodist church, Belleville and Rev. Mr. W. E. Huey, pastor of the Havana Presbyterian church. Miss Alma Lazenby sang a solo and flowers were beautiful.

Mr. McBride was the last of his father's family surviving only a few weeks his brother, Colonel McBride, who died Dec. 1, in Tecumseh. As a pioneer Uncle Scott was one of the best known of our Yell County men having hosts of friends as evidenced by the birthday parties celebrated for him the last few years. The father of a large and much respected family, a man that lived as he prayed, Havana has lost a man that in his quiet way was a living example for all who knew him. Mcbride, Ralph

Ralph McBride Jr. died on October 5, 2006 at his home in Salem, Oregon. He was born and raised in the town of Havana and Booneville, Arkansas. He later moved to California and was in the insurance business for several years. He then moved to Salem, Oregon where he was an accountant and owned his own business for twenty years.

Mcbride, Ralph A.

Ralph A. McBride, age 84, of Salem, OR, formally of Danville, AR. died Saturday, February 13, 1999 in Salem, OR. He was born on June 12, 1914 in Cedar Creek, AR. son of the late Claude and Cora Belle Smith McBride. Upon graduation from Havana High School, he took a job as a clerk in a general store. He later bought and operated his own store in Havana. In 1934 he moved his family to California and worked in the oil industry for 26 years. Upon retirement he returned home to Cedar Creek, purchased a farm and raised cattle. He later retired to Danville where he lived until March 1995, at which time his failing health prompted his son Ralph A. McBride to move his father to Salem, OR to live with him and his wife. They took care of him until his death.

Survivors include his wife, Willie McBride of Ola, AR; a son, Ralph A. McBride Jr. of Salem, OR; a daughter, Carolyn Benson of New Canaan, CT; a brother, Raymond McBride of Paramounty, CA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mcbride, Raymond Dean

Raymond Dean McBride, 89 years old and born and raised in Arkansas departed his long life on August 8, 2008 in Promise Hospital in Paramount, California. Present with him was his loving companion of 20 years at his side. He supervised and worked in the oil fields in the California area for 39 years. He loved talking about his work days in the oil fields. He also enjoyed playing his fiddle. He was a member of the Paramount Fiddlers Club. He had and made many friends in his lifetime, but his best friend and loves one was his Nita. He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful man and father.

He had one daughter, Dalliah and one son, Dean, whom he loved very much.

Mcbride, Willie E.

Willie E. McBride, 88 of Ola died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Mitchells Nursing Home at Danville. She was born April 12, 1917 in Plainview. She was a homemaker and mother and former owner of Sloan Dry Goods in Ola. She was a member of the Ola United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Vaughn, Holbart Sloan and Ralph McBride; her parents, Belle Williams and Harley and Mary Williams; sons-in-laws, Charlie Sebesta and Fred Golden and a sister, Meda Beth James.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Golden and Betsy and Bob Rice all of Ola and Carol Sebesta of Havana; three sisters, Virginia James and Ruby McKee both of Waveland and Frances Mathis of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Ola Methodist Church with Rev. Billie Jean Tate officiating. Burial was in Smith Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Rita Lois McCafferty, age 54, of Harvey, AR died Monday, February 21, 2000 in a Fort Smith Hospital. She was a teacher's aide for Fourche Valley School for 24 years and attended the Harvey Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by, her husband, Kelly Jack McCafferty of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beth McCafferty of Tyler, TX and Lisa and Shawn Miller of Cedar Creek, AR; her mother-in-law, Lucille McCafferty of Waldron, AR; four sisters, Anna Mae Palmer of Ingleside, TX, Martha West of Briggsville, AR, Barbara Cooley of Batesville, AR and Sandra Billingsley of Roland, AR; two grandchildren, Tristian and Kiley Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Johnnie Lou McCain age 78 of Havana passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born August 29, 1933 in Havana, AR to the late Floyd & Gladys Capps Allen. She was retired from Wayne Farms. Her greatest joys was her children, grandchildren and talking on her phone to family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joseph Franklin McCain, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday at his home. He was born in Okeeman, OK on July 23, 1916, the son of the late Harrison and Naomi Cates McCain. He was retired from the forest service and cattle farming. He attended the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary McCain of Dardanelle, AR; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Patsy McCain of Hot Springs, AR, Roy and Bobbi McCain of Pocola, OK and Earnest McCain of Ft. McCain, Mary Magdalene (Calvert)

DARDANELLE - Mary Magdalene Calvert McCain, 94, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2014. She was born August 16, 1920, in Scott County to Jennie McGee and Zara Calvert. In her younger years she assisted her husband in the ranching business in Arizona. In later years she was a homemaker. Through the years she enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening and the Razorbacks. She was known to many as "white hair granny" and "My Mary" by the neighborhood children. She lived life to the fullest and often stated age is just a number. She always had a smile and made lasting impressions on everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin McCain; both parents; seven brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth and wife Patsy McCain of Hot Springs; son, Roy and wife Bobbie McCain of Pocola, Okla.; daughter, Sue Metcalf and the late Merle Metcalf of Mena; son, Ernest McCain of Fort Smith. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Hawkins Cemetery in Parks. Mccall, Paul

Paul McCall, age 84, died May 6, 1952 at a Carlsbad, New Mexico hospital after a short illness. Born December 6, 1867, in Bluffton, McCall had a long and active political career in both Arkansas and New Mexico. He moved to Carlsbad 30 years ago in November, 1922. He served three terms as probate judge of Yell County, one term in the Arkansas House of Representatives and two terms as Eddy County's probate judge. He was known for his profound knowledge of politics and government.

McCarrell, Archie

Archie McCarrell, 75, of Danville died Thursday morning, May 21, at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was the son of the late R. E. and Nannie McDaniel McCarrell. He was a farmer and stockman, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include a brother, Oral McCarrell of Danville; and two nieces, Mrs. John Gibson and Mrs. Bill Hottinger, both of Russellville.
