Mullinax, William Ervin

William Ervin Mullinax, age 87, from Plainview died November 10, 2001. He was born June 14, 1914 in Hochatown, OK to the late Jess Dee and Callie Mae Duncan Mullinax.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Brown Mullinax and his second wife Mabel Hulsey Mullinax; one brother, Jake Mullinax of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Marie Mullinax Walker and Margie Mullinax Hoel of Kingman, AZ.

Survivors are two sons Bruce W. and wife Juanita of Bigelow, AR, Alvin L and wife Cathy of Muskogee, OK; Numerous grandchildren and great grand children and great-great grand children. Step children, Delia Mae and husband Lonnie Ray Beggs of Mt. Ida, Sonny and wile Barbara Hulsey of Norman, AR, Linda Stinson of Mt. Ida, AR and Wanda and Darrell Smalling of Cedar Creek, AR. Norma Layne of Dardanelle, AR and Becky and husband Greg Dixon of Ola, AR, Janis and husband Tim Miller of Norman, AR and Jimmy and wife Donna of Ola, AR. Numerous grandchildren and great grand children. He was former owner of Midland Supply Company at Ola, AR.

Honorary Pallbearers are Frankie McConnell, Kendal Phipps, Ben Mullinax, Kevin Smalling, Jimmy Hulsey, J. R. Haney. Services were Tuesday November 13, 2001 at 2 p. m. Mullins, Bessie L.

Bessie L. Mullins, age 86, a resident of Russellville died Saturday, December 21, 2002 at her home. She was born on April 30, 1916 in Sims, Arkansas to Charlie and Pairlee West Summit. She was owner and operator of Ola Furniture Store for 25 years. She was a member of the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Lawson and Van Mullins and three brothers, Jams, Virgle and Delmar Summit and three infant babies.

She is survived by three sisters, Ethel Spears of Monticello, AR, Hazel Colbert of Stillwater, OK and Hattie Maurice Fischer of Perry, OK; one brother, Kirby Summit of Russellville, AR; a step-daughter, Teresa & Buck Bates of Russellville, AR; two step sons, Billy and Larry Mullins; four step granddaughters and 23 nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p. m. Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at the Humphrey Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Reynolds. Burial will be at Old Baptist Cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Mullins, Dorothy M. (Hall)

Dorothy M. Mullins, 80 of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Danville, Arkansas. She was born on December 31, 1930 in Hunter, Arkansas and was the daughter of Russell Hall and Effie Thompson Hall. Dorothy was retired from Lucent Technology. She will be remembered for being a hard worker, who loved gardening, and cooking for her kids, and grandkids, and would go out of her way to help others.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Robert Duane Mullins, Sr.

She is survived by her children Bob (Judy) Mullins of Hot Springs Village, Cliff (Lana) Mullins of Plainview, Troy Mullins of Little Rock, Lela (Bill) Gillespie of Centerville, John David (Anna) Mullins of Plainview, Kenneth (Melba) Mullins of Conway, and Michael Mullins (Ruth Douglas) of Ola; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty - three great grandchildren, two sisters Doris Hadley of Missouri and Betty Gaswint of Arizona, and sister- in-law Peggy (Everett) Bene of Little Rock.

Graveside funeral services were Friday, August 12, 2011 at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander, with Everett Bene officiating. Larry R. Mullins, 61, of Danville, Arkansas passed away on August 8, 2014 at his home. Larry was born on August 7, 1953 to the late Rufus Ratusand Stella Frances (Willis) Mullins in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Larry is survived by his fiancee, Reta Hunter; daughter, Candace Mullins; three step-sons, Joey Day, Michael Day, and Kyle McCarty; two brothers, Kenny Mullins and Preston Mullins; sisters, Frances Scarbrough, Janet Defoor, and Sandy Miller; nine grandchildren, Lauren Mullins, Allee Clem, Cameron Clem, Jaden Day, Gavin Day, Abby Day, Kialyn McCarty, Karcyn McCarty, and Torianne McCarty; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Ratus and Stella Frances Mullins, and half-brother Arnold Mullins.

Mrs. Bettie Muncrief, age 87, died July 20, 1954 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ova Cornelison, at Lebanon, Okla. where she made her home. She suffered a heatstroke and also had been an invalid for several years. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Sam Banister of California, Arnold Muncrief, Luches and Otto Ray of Oklahoma and two daughters, Mrs. Ova Cornelison of Oklahoma and Mrs. Ola Phillips of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren, eight step-sons and four step-daughters. Murders, Herman Samuel

Mr. Herman Samuel Murders, age 81, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, November 13, 1997 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, retired from the railroad, and as the owner of Russellville Overhead Door. He was born May 23, 1916 in Buckville, AR to the late Joseph and Ida Adams Murders.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Survivors include wife, Jewell C. Murders of Dardanelle; four sons and daughters-in-law Herman D. Cathy Murders of Augusta, GA, Steven Murders of Dardanelle, Phillip & Liz Murders of Russellville and Danny and Francis Murders of Pottsville, AR; a sister, Loretta McCellan of Galend Park, TX; also included are 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was November 17, 1997 at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle by the Rev. Joe Yates and Rev. Black. Interment was at the Rock Springs Cemetery. Jewell Cearley Murders, age 91, of Dardanelle died Friday, September 2, 2011 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1920 at Joplin, AR to the late Phillip Denton and Ada Eva Lee Standefer Cearley. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was an avid reader, quilter and gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hermon Samuel Murders; one son, Herman David Murders and six siblings.

Survivors include three sons, Steve Murders of Dardanelle, Phillip Murders and wife Kim of Russellville, Danny Murders and wife Frances of Pottsville; one sister, Eva Lee Taylor of Greenfield, IN; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

DARDANELLE - Seth Murray Murdoch, age 90, of Dardanelle died Monday, November 24, 1986 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was a native of Chickalah, a retired mail carrier, veteran of World War I and a member of Dardanelle Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Sturdevant Murdoch; three daughters, Zeta Abrahamson of Albuquerque, N. M. Tiny Grimes of McKinney, Texas and Jeanice Gideon of Little Rock; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Murdock, Robert Jason

Robert Jason Murdock, age 30 of Dardanelle, stationed at Ft. Bragg, N. C. died Friday, April 10, 2009 in Athens, Georgia. He was born December 23, 1978 at Long Beach, CA to Bobby David Murdock and Wendy Ruth Schroeder. He was currently on active duty in the U. S. Army, where he achieved many medals and commendations from the Army, Marines, Navy, and Army Reserve.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Murdock and an uncle, John Murdock.

Survivors include his parents, Bob and Wendy Murdock, Dardanelle; maternal grandparents, Arnold and Maybelle Schroeder, Long Beach, CA; a brother, Matt Murdock, Dardanelle; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Joseph Brewer, Atkins; numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Cecil Don Murphy, age 69, of Dardanelle died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his home. He was born July 13, 1942 to Rose and Glen Murphy. He was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ.

He is survived only by two aunts, Mary Davis and Bettye McEntvre both of Dardanelle. He had several cousins, Doyle and Mike McEntyre, Margaret and Robert Miller, Barbara Lett, Mary Hernandez, Bill, James and Victor Dortch, Shirley, Wanda, Bob and Frank Davis.

Murphy, Charles Joe

Charles Joe Murphy, age 64, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at his home in Dardanelle following a bicycle accident. Joe was born October 19, 1944 in Jonesboro, AR, the son of Charles and Mary Cecilia Gatz Murphy. He was an All American high school basketball player and the center on the Jonesboro High 1962 State Championship team. He played basketball for Hendrix College where he was All AIC and Most Valuable AIC Player four times during his college career. Joe graduated from Hendrix in 1965 with a degree in business and economics. He was the manager and herdsman for Gleason Herford farms and taught and coached in Dardanelle Public Schools before opening his own business, Murphys Sporting Goods. Joe served on the Dardanelle School Board for twelve years and was the board president for five of those years. He was an avid fisherman and cyclist, a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynne Gleason Murphy; his daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Missy Murphy Clifton and Jeff Clifton of Bentonville; three grandchildren, Alli, Sam and Sophie Clifton of Bentonville; a sister-in-law, Dr. Diane Gleason of Dardanelle; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcia Gleason Lawrence and Dr. Frank Lawrence of Russellville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George Gleason II and Linda Gleason of Little Rock; nephew and wife, Frank Jr. and Jill Lawrence of Little Rock, nephew and wife, Dr. George and Judy Lawrence of Mt. Home, nephew and nieces George Gleason III of Ohio, Peter Gleason, Eric Merriman and Amy Baden of Little Rock; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Bill and Carolyn Murphy of Minnesota and nieces and nephews, Kim, Kyle, Kristine and Kristopher Murphy; a sister Mary Beth Williams of Jonesboro and nephew Cecil Williams and niece Connie Veteto.

The Murphy family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p. m. Thursday evening, June 25 at the Gleason-Murphy home on Highway 7 South in Dardanelle. The funeral will be at the First Methodist Church in Dardanelle at 10 a. m. on Friday morning, June 26. Interment will follow at the Gleason family cemetery at the Gleason Murphy home. James Lee "Pat" Murphy, aged 66, fuel station superintendent for the Rock Island Railroad, died Saturday, October 13, at a Little Rock Hospital. He had been employed by the Rock Island Railroad since 1913. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Petit Jean Lodge at Ola; and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Murphy, of Booneville, three sons, James Howard Murphy of Little Rock, Woodrow Murphy of Eureka, Calif, step-son, Travis Byrd of Booneville; a sister, Mrs. F. Jeannie Yvonne Murphy age 52 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born April 24, 1953 at Salinas, CA to Ben and Nellie Jenkins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ben Jenkins.

Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, George W. Murphy of Dardanelle; mother, Nellie Jenkins of Marianna; one sister, Martha W. Jenkins of Dardanelle; mother-in-law, Ruth A. Murphy, Mary Jean (Pound)

Mary Jean Murphy, retired, age 88 of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She graduated from Danville High School in Arkansas in 1940. Mary was a WAC and served as an Army recruiter during World War II. During this time, she went to nursing school, then married Walter Scott Murphy on June 7, 1944. They gave birth to and raised two children, Nancy and Michael. Mary spent 32 years as an Air Force wife, traveling the world and then retiring with her husband in 1974. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Bethany Methodist in Austin, Watauga Elementary, and led daily devotionals and songs at Autumn Leaves.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lovick and Lillie Pound, by her husband, Walter, sister, Ruth Thomas, and granddaughter, Cristine Murphy Montgomery.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Helen Murphy of Bastrop; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bob Burleson of Haltom City; two grandchildren, Bryan S. Murphy of Ogden, Utah and Michael R. Cote' Jr. of Austin; great-granddaughters, Chasity Pacheco and Madeline Murphy, step great-grandson, Jory Pacheco, and step great-great-grandson, Jory John Pacheco, all of Ogden, Utah, and great grandson Cormac Murphy Cote'-Skotak of Austin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Murphy; and a brother, Frank Prochazkia, a sister Blanche Miller.

Murphy, Woodrow W.

Woodrow W. Murphy, age 67, a native of Ola, died Wednesday, February 26, at Fontana, California. Murphy was born at Ola, January 13, 1919, a son of the late James Lee "Pat" Murphy and the late Violet Elnora Marks Murphy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific. Murphy lived in Eureka, Calif. for 33 years, employed by a supply company there, moving to Fontana after his retirement two years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea E. Murphy; a son, Dan Murphy of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, James Howard Murphy of Little Rock, and Guy W. Murphy of Conway and three grandchildren.

Murray, Demetria "Dee" (Capps)

November 1, 1924 - November 23, 2012 Demetria "Dee" Capps Murray, 88, of Huber Heights, Ohio, formerly of Wilson passed peacefully in her home Friday. She was under the care of Hospice of Dayton and the comfort of her family.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Vance Harrell will officiate. The family will receive friends 10 - 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. "Dee" was retired from UFCW and went on to own and run several businesses in Southern California and later in Wilson, with her husband, Paul. She was a proud member of the Wilson First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dee was a talented artist that loved to china paint, quilt and spend time with her grandchildren. She was beloved by friends and family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and thought of often with warm memories.

"Dee" is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Wehunt of Huber Heights, Ohio; her grandchildren, Lisa Tedesco, Pamela Hastings and husband, John, Brian Hograve and wife, Rebecca Patterson, Kevin Hograve, and Candace Hograve; her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Stefan, Carmen, Dolan, Alexis, Joseph, Destiny, Hannah and Abigail; her sister, Jenelle Capps Peeler of Fresno, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Wayne Murray, age 35, of Russellville, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He was born March 30, 1968 in Dardanelle, AR. He was a member of Kelley Heights Baptist Church, Ducks Unlimited, Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants For Ever, and worked as a nuclear contractor. He was an avid hunter and sportsman as well as a staunch Razorback fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Murray.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Cooper Murray of Russellville; two daughters, Lauren and Megan Murray, both of Russellville; mother, Irene Murray of Russellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Sharon Murray of Russellville, Keith and Jo Ann Murray of Russellville; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Marty Briscoe of Russellville; four nephews, five nieces.
