McMillan, Geneva M. (Jones)

Geneva M. McMillan, age 89, of Russellville died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. She was born March 16, 1926, at Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Clarrissa Avants Jones. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

She loved to sew, make flower arrangements and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Price McMillan of Russellville; one daughter, Laura Lewis (Jim) of Alpa/Omega Community; grandchildren, Jerry Stroud Jr., Lora Stroud Negrito (Lu); great grandchildren, Jerry Stroud III, Zekariah Stroud, Anna Stroud, Kristopher Negrito, Maelani Negrito, Kiana Negrito. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 27, 2015 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Robin Foster and Bro. Jonathan Whitlock officiating. Burial will be in Shephard-Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the chapel. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Negrito, Jerry Stroud III, Zekariah Stroud, Sam Guarino. DIED - John J. McMinn, a worthy and promising young man aged 22 years, died at the residence of his father, Mr. S. McMinn, on the 8th inst. Mcminn, Vernice

Vernice McMinn, age 82, of Tulsa, OK died Monday, December 22, 2003 in Tulsa, OK. She was born September 29, 1921 in the Omega community, AR to the late Leonard and Ruie Walker Cannon. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Church of Christ in Tulsa, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. McMinn and a brother, Russell Cannon.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie and Tim McMinn both of Tulsa, OK; two daughters, Freda Willis of Claremore, OK and Tammy Thomason of Tulsa, OK; daughter/granddaughter Michelle McGehee of Tulsa, OK; one brother Jack Cannon of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Bobby McAnulty and June Taylor both of Dardanelle, AR; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mcmullen, Joseph Johnson

Joseph Johnson McMullen, age 83, native of Yell County and a resident of Benton, died November 1, 1956. Mr. McMullen was a retired merchant, and had formerly operated a business in the Sulpher Springs community near Chickalah. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mcnabb, Cleo Hooten

Mrs. Cleo Hooten McNabb, age 91, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, January 26, 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle and Mesa, AZ and was a member of the United Methodist Women, a past Matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the Nile and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a licensed practical nurse on Luke Air Force Base. She was born January 29, 1905 in Palmer, Missouri to the late Richard Wilkerson and Blanche Cole.

She was preceded in death by husbands, George Hooten and Paul McNabb.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Maurine Hooten of Muleshoe, TX; three daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita & Mac Barefoot of Mesa, AZ, Geneva & Bud Davis of Dardanelle, AR and Nina Ruth & Jubby Dobbins of Mountain View, AR; two brothers, Hadley Cole of CA and Clement Cole of Scottsdale, AZ; one sister, Ruth Sachs of San Leandro, CA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and three nieces.

Funeral service was January 29 at the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle by the Rev. Bennie Harmon. Interment followed in the Brearley Cemtery. Mcneal, Don Carlos

Don Carlos McNeal, Jr. age 49, of Perryville, AR died Friday, November 5, 2004 at Hot Springs. He was born August 9, 1955 in Danville, AR. He was a teacher at the Ouachita Job Corp in Hot Springs, a member of the Nimrod Baptist Church and the UCA Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma King McNeal and a brother, Brandon McNeal.

Survivors are his father, Don McNeal of Perryville, AR; a sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Tim Gardner of Bigelow, AR; nephew, Zach Gardner and two nieces Ashley and Holly Gardner all of Bigelow.

Mcneal, James Thomas

James Thomas McNeal, age 73, of Perryville, AR died Friday, August 16, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Nimrod, AR on December 24, 1927 son of the late Roy and Joyce Cowger McNeal. He was a retired driver and farmer and a Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Moritz McNeal.

Mcneely, Helen

Helen McNeely, age 83, a resident of Morrilton, AR died Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at her home. She was born on June 1, 1914 at Afton, NY, to Charles and Ethel Warner) Clock. She was a retired cook. She had lived at Waveland for 50 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Havana. She was me widow of the late H. R. McNeely.

She is survived by a son, Troy Christian of Booneville; a daughter, Vivian Bryant of Perry, AR; six grandchildren, Johnny Carter, Terry Bernard, Todd Christian, Scott Christian, Michael Jackson and Marlea Jackson; nine great grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside funeral service was Friday, April 10, 1998 at the Moore's Chapel Cemetery at Waveland, AR officiated by Rev. James Mullins. Burial followed. Casketbearers were her grandsons. Mcneely, Herbert R.

Herbert R. McNeely, son of Edgar Thedore and Syrena Hooper McNeely was born in Spencer County, Indiana, August 17, 1895. Mr. McNeely departed this life at the Sparks Memorial Hospital in Ft. Smith on April 30, 1948, being 52 years of age.

He leaves to morn his passing his wife, two small children at home with five daughters and one son married; also three brothers and 18 grandchildren. Mr. McNeely was a member of the I. O. O. F. and the Modern Woodmen and a faithful servant of the community in which he lived.

Jerry L. "Jerl" McNeese, 61, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, December 27, 2005, in Little Rock. He was born May 28, 1944, in Atkins, Arkansas. He was a line stacker in the lumber industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucy Lorene Mahan McNeese; two brothers, Carl McNeese and William McNeese; two sisters, Betty Jean McNeese and Violet McNeese.

Mcnutt, Robert L., Sr.

Robert L. McNutt Sr., 87, of Russellville, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Atkins. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McNutt, he was born March 24, 1923 in Russellville. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. His accomplishments included service to his country in Guadalcanal in the Pacific during World War II as a communications officer. He was self-employed in the communications industry. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Williamson McNutt; his parents and a daughter, Jan N. Hill.

He is survived by his son Robert & wife Teresa McNutt of Hollywood, FL; five grandchildren, Keith & wife Chandra McNutt of Pottsville, Heather & husband Sherman Goates of Dover, Scott Hill of Russellville, seven great-grandchildren, Jessica McNutt, Morgan Goates, Hayley Goates, Paxton Goates, Kendall Goates, Jordan McNutt, Sera Hill; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

McReynolds, Bobby Charles

Bobby Charles McReynolds, age 73, of Ola went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 11, 2012. He was born April 7, 1938 in Pine Valley, Oklahoma to Arthur Lee and Mary Myrtle Knight McReynolds. He served many roles in his life that included a maintenance man at Wayne Farms for 31 years, boiler operator, journeyman roofer, service station manager, and loved to peddle produce. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, watching sports, and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Ellen and Amy Jo, and a brother, Hubert Lee.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June George McReynolds; a daughter, Cindy Raney of Ola; a granddaughter, Carrie Roberts of Ola; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brian and Tasha Raney of Conway; two great-grandchildren, Whitley and Tyler Raney, also of Conway; one brother, Bill McReynolds of Lewiston, Idaho; one sister, Jean Means of Russellville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

James David McReynolds, age 59, of Council Hill, Oklahoma died September 23, 1980 in Temple, Texas after a brief illness.

Mary Josie Irene Whitecotton McReynolds, age 90, of Russellville, AR died June 12, 2000 at Stella Manor Nursing Home. Born March 29, 1910 at Havana, AR she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Hattie Burfield Whitecotton, widow of John McReynolds and attended the Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Sue Goines.

Mr. Lee Roy McTigritt, age 88, of Danville, died December 12, 1992 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Bluffton, son of the late Steven and Jennie Gilpin McTigritt, a retired timberman and farmer and a member of the Methodist Church.

McVay, Patsy (Gillespie)

Patsy McVay, 79, of Russellville, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1935, in Carden Bottoms, to Herschel and Winnie Cooper Gillespie. She was a member of the Arkansas Public Health Association, an avid bowler, and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles McVay; a brother, John Gillespie; and a granddaughter, Savannah Pledger.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Pledger and husband, Craig of Bella Vista and Vickie Bench and husband, Tony of Conway; a brother, Ronnie Gillespie and wife, Carolyn of Pine Bluff; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis McVay of Benton and Betty Gillespie of England; three grandchildren, Dani Perez and husband, Daniel and Marissa and Bladen Pledger; a host of nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Sadie and Gracie.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Stacy Lisenby. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at Dardanelle, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Mcvey, Giles Jackson

Giles Jackson McVey, age 79 of Dardanelle, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born September 21, 1930 in Fort Madison, Iowa, to the late Ivan and Vera Lamm McVey. He was a chicken grower for 21 years after retiring from the United States Air Force, was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville, the Dardanelle Lions Club and the Srudebaker Club in Conway.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul McVey; and one sister, Shirley Hatch.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy "Dot" McVey of Dardanelle; four sons, Steve and Terry McVey both of Fort Madison, Iowa, Roland McVey and wife Angela of Dardanelle and Greg McVey and wife Marci of Ola; one daughter, Linda Morris and husband Ronny of Center Ridge; one brother, Gerald McVey and wife Myrna of West Point, Iowa; nine grand children; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be Friday, February 5, 2010, 10:00 a. m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville with Bro. Eddie Rogers officiating. Mcvey, Toy Marie

Toy Marie McVey, age 64 of Dardanelle, died Monday, October 18, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She was born October 12, 1940 in Dardanelle. Her parents were Barness Hicks Coffey and the late George Thomas Coffey. She retired after 17 years from ALCO and was a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Neil McVey and a brother, Garland Dale Coffey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Hopkins of Dardanelle, mother, Barness Hicks Coffey of Dardanelle; brother, Toby Coffey of Dardanelle; sister Sara Adams of Dardanelle; grandson, Jesse Hopkins, Dardanelle; granddaughter, Carly Hopkins, Dardanelle.

Services were Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle, with Rev. Wylie Jones officiating. Internment in Oakland Cemetery in Atkins by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Mead, Charles F.

Charles F. Mead, age 83, of Russellville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of the late Edwin Charles and Evelyn Croggen Mead, he was born August 23, 1918, at Washington, D. C. He attended West Point, was a heavy equipment rigger doing work in oil exploration, a United States Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, a Mason and attended London First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Longing Mead; three sons, William Mead of Phoenix, Arizona, Bob Mead of College Place, Washington, and Mike Mead of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn Tana Mead of Russellville and her son, Michael T. McKillips of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida; two step-sons, Maxie Longing of London, and Ernie Longing of Russellville; three step-daughters, JoAnn Canady and Kathy Longing, both of Russellville, and Kay Havens of Conway; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated. A memorial service was conducted August 1, 2002, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Danny Green, Maxie Longing and Bob Mead officiating. Meadors, Mcfayette

-Former County Resident Killed in Auto Accident Near Bluffton -- McFayette Meadors, age 29, Ft Smith, was killed instantly at 1 a.m. today when his auto failed to make a curve and struck the iron banister of a bridge about 2 miles east of Bluffton on Highway 28. Meadors had passed an auto occupied by Troy Guinn and Perry James Jr., both of Gravelly, near the Fourche Valley High School. When they arrived at the bridge they discovered the wreckage and body and reported the accident to officials. The body was taken by Cornwell Funeral Home, after investigation of the accident by county officials.

Meadors was formerly of Yell County and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phel Meadors, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, who lives in Ft. Smith, and two sisters, Eva Meadors and Marie Meadors, both of Little Rock. Meadows, Maurice "Pete"

Maurice "Pete" Meadows, age 80, of Memphis, TN, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, in Memphis. He was born August 28, 1916 in Yell County, where he lived until he was an adult. He was a member and deacon of Forrest Hill Baptist Church in Germantown, TN and was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass.

Survivors are his wife, Ava "Penny" Meadows; daughter, Pat Shannon of Porterville, CA; two granddaughters; a niece and nephew and several cousins in Arkansas.

Service was April 9 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Chapel in Little Rock with interment in the Pine Crest Cemetery near Little Rock with Dr. Walby Owens officiating. Meadows, Wanda Nacoma

EL RENO Funeral services for Wanda Nacoma Meadows, age 84, of El Reno, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John V. Chennault, pastor officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Garden, 100 W. Strothers, Seminole. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Meadows died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at Manor Care Nursing Center in Warr Acres. She was born Feb. 10, 1918 in Belleville, Ark., Yell County, to James L. and Gertrude Hunt Hays. She was a 1936 graduate of Wolf High School and a 1941 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University. Mrs. Meadows married C. Chalon Meadows on May 24, 1942 in Seminole and taught elementary school in Meeker, Seminole, Pryor, El Reno, and Carlsbad, N.M. She taught elementary school at Lincoln and Hillcrest Public Schools in El Reno for 17 years before she retired in 1983. She enjoyed her family very much, and loved singing and playing the piano anytime, anywhere and various nursing homes. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Meadows is preceded in death by her husband, Chalon; her parents, J.L. and Gertrude Hays; and a brother, Fair Hays.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Slane and husband, Richard, of El Reno; a son, David Meadows and wife, Donita, of Desoto, Texas; three brothers, James L. Hays and wife, Carolyn, of Norman, Bob Hays of wife, Bonnie, of Lyon, Miss., and Mrs. Bonnie Fair Hays of Clarksdale, Miss.; a sister, Ruby Reece of Semiole; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lori Lea Means, age 33 of Danville, AR died Saturday, March 1, 1997 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Van Buren. She was born February 23, 1964 in Ft. Smith, AR. She was a waitress, homemaker, mother and member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Means of Danville, AR; two sons, Wesley and Eric Means both of Danville; two daughters, Amanda Means of Van Buren, AR and Jamie Lea Means of Danville, AR; her father, Gary Chamblee of Ft. Martin Medina-Mondragon, age 24, of Havana, AR died Wednesday, June 23, 1999. He was born March 3, 1975 in Coroneto, GTO, Mexico. He was a lineworker for Wayne Farms in Danville and a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle McConnell; two daughters, Jasmine A. Medina-Mondragon and Selena C. Meek, Carroll Stickney

Col. Carroll Stickney Meek, age 79 of Russellville, formerly of Dardanelle, died Monday, February 12, 2007, at his home. He was born May 24, 1927, at Fort Smith, AR to the late Feder Stickney Meek and Lee Sims Meek Barger.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Baker Meek, and his parents, Feder Stickney Meek and Lee Sims Meek Barger.

He was a graduate of Kemper Military School and College where he was Past President. He graduated from West Point in 1949 and was the first officer to mount artillery on barges during Vietnam, which changed the way battles were fought. He was shot down seven times in Vietnam. Medals he received were Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Army of Occupation and World War II Victory Medal.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Lee Meek (Smith) of Houston, TX; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sharon Meek of Little Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas "Tommy" Linley and Kay Warren Baker; granddaughters, Ariel Alexandra Smith of Fayetteville, AR and McKenzie Shea Meek of Beecher, Illinois.

Graveside services were held February 15, 2007, at Brearley Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Fort Sill Funeral Honors Team. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Meeks, Edgar L.

Edgar L. Meeks, age 85, of Pensacola, Fla., died August 27, 1986 in Pensacola. He was born September 13, 1900, in Belleville, AR., he was raised and educated in Belleville, graduating from the Belleville High School. He was employed by a merchantile store in Arkansas. He moved to Carlsbad in 1936, and began his employment with Bryan Food Stores. In 1944, he began his employment with civil service at Port Hueneme, CA. In 1954, he was transferred to the naval air station at Pensacola, Fla. He retired in 1970, and continued to make his home in Pensacola.
