Lucky, Johnny Lee

Johnny-Lee Matthew Lucky, age 26, of Rover died Thursday, May 24, 2012. He was born June 20, 1985 at Little Rock to Edna Myrtle Young. Johnny knew his Lord and was baptized at a young age. He was a carpenter-wood crafter and worked in construction. He loved anything that involved wood or metals. He loved nature, hunting, camping, fishing, hiking and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Evalena Wilson; grandmother, Ruth Lucky; grandfathers, Charles A. Young, Sr., James G. Lucky and his aunt, Anna Mae Hudspeth.

Survivors include his mother, Edna M. Lucky; stepchildren, Jacob, Hunter, Jade; four brothers, Joseph Axelson and wife Kim, Timothy Axelson and friend Connie Knight, Charles Daniel Roberts, Duane Lucky, Jr.; two sisters, Chana Lucky Adams, Mary Leighann Lucky; one grandmother, Lora Noonan and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and friends.

Lucy, Liddy Nadine Foster

Mrs. Liddy Nadine Foster Lucy, age 87, of Danville, AR, formerly of Hazen, AR died Sunday, October 19, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 20, 1910 in Parmey, MO to the late Henry T. and Hattie Reynolds Pasley. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alto C. Foster and two sons, Johnny and Charles Foster.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry W. Foster of Rover, AR, Bobby L. Foster of Des Arc, AR and James A. Foster of Elkhart, TX; a daughter, Lucille Eubanks Shugars of Dowagiac, MI; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Service was Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at Hunts Chapel in Rover with Rev. Carl Huling officiating. Interment was in the Hunts Cemetery at Rover, AR by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Ludwick, Charles Clesson

Charles Clesson Ludwick age 87 of Danville passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born October 24, 1926 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Ralph Eugene Ludwick & Gladys Oxford. He was inducted into the US Army and served in the Philippines during WWII. He lived and worked in Chula Vista, CA. for Rhor Aircraft Co for over 30 years as a plant manager. Upon his retirement, Mr Ludwick returned to Arkansas and eventually settled in Danville. He had and has many friends at the Leon Millsap Center.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Ludwick; mother, Gladys Oxford Mize; wife, Cherry Lundford Ludwick; sons, Charles L Ludwick and Kenneth Lee Ludwick; sisters, Betty Jean Rogers and Barbara Cormier.

Survivors include his daughter Barbara Ann Stephens of Magalia, CA; sisters, Mona Rae Peck of Centennial, CO; Elizabeth Ann Hunt of Danville; Martha Rollans of Roger, AR; Marilyn Kirkendall of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Ralph Ludwick of Paris; 7 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his longtime best friend, Doris Vosburg.

Ludwick, Ermal Eden (Biggs)

Ermal Eden (Biggs) Ludwick, age 81, of Paris, AR, died August 5, 1997 at Fort Smith, AR. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Paris and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Tilden and Isabelle Courtney Biggs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene "Gene" Ludwick.

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Hunt of Fort Smith, Martha Rollans of Danville and Marilyn Kuyendall of Paris; two sons, Raymond Earl White of Indio, CA and Tinker Ludwick, Paris, AR; one step-son, Charles Ludwick of Mablevale, AR; a sister, Laverne Gilbert of Torrance, CA; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Darren Downs, James Tucker, Larry Robinson, Jim Robinson, Donald Friddle and Jim Mi.

Luer, Laura Frances

Laura Frances Luer, age 88 of Plainview, Our Beloved Mother, passed away, Tuesday, September 8, 2009. She was born February 2, 1921 in Wewoka, OK to the late William Myatt Doughty and Jeston Smith Doughty. She is a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church, Plainview, AR, and involved with the United Methodist Women's Association; a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Philip Lester Luer; brothers, Benjamin, Elbert, Pete, Marshall, William Doughty Jr.

She is survived by her son Jon Philip Luer and wife Vicki of Maumelle; her daughter, Gem Koski and husband Marvin of Conway; grandchildren, Natalie Luer and husband Chris Perry, Jason Adams and wife Dana, Lauren Moore and husband Casey, Danielle Lamberth and husband Chad; great grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, SarahGrace Adams, Alyssa Moore, Jayce Lamberth; sister, Lois Campbell of Conway; several nieces and nephews.

Luer, Philip L.

Philip L. Luer, age 91, of Plainview, AR, died December 13, 2006. He was the youngest child of John V. and Gertrude A. Smith Luer, born August 21, 1915 in rural Barron County, five miles southeast of Dallas, WI. He was a retired civil servant with the Corps of Engineers and a charter member of the VFW Post 8525, Plainview, AR. He was proud to have served with the 20 m Army Air Force on Guam during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Guy G. Harold, Frederick and Richard E. Luer and one sister, Genevieve M. Luer Wigby.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laura F. Doughty Luer; one daughter and son-in-law, Laurita Gem (Luer) and Marvin Koski of Conway; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon P. and Vicki Luer of Maumelle, AR; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Luker, Alice Marie (Abernathy)

Alice Marie Luker Watson, age 91, was born August 26, 1920, in Kingston, Oklahoma, to John and Anna Abernathy. She died December 8, 2011, in Hobbs. Alice married Berdine Luker in 1937 in Dumas, Arkansas. They farmed and raised animals until 1952, when they moved to Hobbs where he worked for B & M Well Service until he retired. Alice and Berdine shared 51 precious years together before his death February 21, 1988. She married Amos Watson in 1989 and shared 19 sweet years with him before his death.

As well as her parents and two husbands, Alice was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd and J. B. Abernathy; her sister, Agnes Peacock; her infant daughter, Patricia Ann Luker; her son, Bill Luker; her granddaughter, Leigh Ann Luker; and her daughters-in-law, Peggy Luker and Mary Luker.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Luker and Ted Luker, both of Hobbs; her daughter, Linda Luker Cook, of Lovington; eight grandchildren, twenty great- grandchildren, and five great- great-grandchildren. Luker, Doyle

Local Man and Companion Killed by Falling Boom -- Doyle Luker, of Little Rock formerly of Plainview and Sidney James Jr., North Little Rock were killed Tuesday afternoon when a boom of a crane fell and crushed them.

Luker was a veteran of World War II, serving as an aviation ordinance man in the Pacific. He entered the service in May 1940 and received his discharge in May 1946, having earned 13 battle stars in the Pacific. Luker's only brother was killed in the Pearl Harbor attach. George F. Luker, 69, of Plainview died Wednesday, June 16, at his home. He was born at Wareagle, son of the late Austin Luker and Nancy Marriot Luker. He was a retired postal clerk of the Little Rock Post Office, was a member of the American Legion and the Church of God.

Mary Magdalene Luker died November 13, 1997 at Jonesboro, AR. She was born October 20, 1904 in Albany, IL. She had lived at Rover for 19 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy King and Nettie King; two sisters, Ola Miller and Ruby Millner; five grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren.

Ned F. Bert Luker, age 88, of Route 1, Ola, died Saturday at the Yell County Hospital at Danville. He was a native of Rover, and the son of the late Alvis Luker and Hila Turner Luker. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Hugh Luker of Ola, Berdine Luker of Hobbs, N. M. Clyde Luker of Plainview, and Ray Luker of Dumas; two brothers, Arthur Luker of Danville and Grady Luker of Booneville; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Cathey of Briggsville, Mrs. Lillian McCurry of Plainview and Mrs. Ruby McCurry of Dumas; five half-brothers, Jack Luker, Buel Luker, Alvie Luker, Hugh Luker and Floyd Luker of Oklahoma; six half-sisters, Velma Jean Welch and Joyce Marshall of Texas, Ann Evans, Ellen Moore, Versal Benton, and Naomi Stewart of Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
