Lokey, William Lee

Funeral for William Lee Lokey, 73, of Plainview, who died Saturday in the Danville hospital, was Monday in the Gardner Funeral Chapel.

Burial was in Havana Cemetery. He was a retired Rock Island Railroad machinist and a Mason.

Survivors include a son, Ralph C. Lokey of Wichita Falls, Tex., a daughter, Mrs. Lee Peak of Amarillo, Tex.; two brothers, Ronald Lokey and Raymond Lokey of California; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Covey of Amarillo and Mrs. Zemar Murray and Mrs. Earl Bain of California; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Lomax, Amy Lee (Stringfellow) Trent Reiter

Amy Lee Lomax, 96, of Altus, died Friday, January 9, 2009, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Tipton Church of Christ with the Waugh and Trent families officiating. Burial will follow services at the Elk City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Amy Lee Stringfellow was born on January 24, 1912, in Hammond to Walter Lee and Maude Stringfellow. She graduated from Hammond High School in 1930. She married Albert Claude Trent in 1933 in Elk City. She taught school in Hammond and enjoyed being a preachers wife and a homemaker. Mr.

Trent preceded her in death in 1985. She married Mack Reiter in Tipton in 1987. He preceded her in death in 1991. She married Earl Lomax in 1992 in Tipton and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was a member of the Tipton Church of Christ where she taught Bible class for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting coat hangers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Albert Trent, Mack Reiter and Earl Lomax; two sisters, Edith and Delia; and one brother, Vaudie.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Waugh and husband Charles of Tipton; two sons, Barry Trent and wife Connie of Mt. George, Ark., and James Trent and wife January of Midwest City; stepdaughter, Lois Killabrew and husband Sam of Tipton; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many friends. London, Lucy Florence Strode Hudson

Mrs. Lucy Florence Strode Hudson London, resident of Schulter, OK died Tuesday, January 21, 1997 in Okmulgee, OK at the age of 90. She was born February 16, 1906 in Newton County, AR to Richard and Minnie Strode. She married John Hudson in 1922 they were married 36 years until his death in 1958 at Danville, AR. They lived near Belleville, AR several years. She married Lawrence London at Okmulgee in October 1962. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence London on October 5, 1968.

Survivors include one sister, Delia Kendrick of Muskogee; 10 nieces, Pearlie Strode Flesher of Belleville, AR, Thelma Wood, Garfield, AR, Fay Metcalf, Muskogee, OK, Bobbye of Warner, OK, Jerry of Georgia, Junitta of CA, Aretta of AZ, Pauliene of AZ and JoAnn of TX; one step-son, Tom London, nine step-grandchildren and a host of step great-grandchildren.

Long, Bessye May (Hamilton) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Bessye May Long, 65, of near Casa, died at a Danville hospital November 13. Mrs. Long was the wife of Rosco C. Long. She was a native of the Rose Creek community near Casa and was a member of the Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors besides her husband are three sons, Wendel and James, both of Casa, and Cecil of Shamrock, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Nubard and Mrs. Dorothy Hance, both of Casa; three brothers, Frank Hamilton of Carden Bottom, Joe Hamilton of Morrilton and Claud Hamilton of Hughes, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ona Whitfeld of Dardanelle and Mrs. Lille Evans of Perry; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Welcome Home Missionary Baptist church near Casa Sunday afternoon by Missionary Baptist Ministers Frank Moore and Earl Smith. Connie Long, age 68 of Dover, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 9, 2008. She was born January 1, 1940 in Romance, AR to the late George Olief and Jinnie Geneva Smith Payne. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Russellville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Geneva Payne; husband, Henry Long and sister, Margaret Belcher.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Bill Counts of Tulsa, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Donna Long of Russellville; three brothers, Glendon O. Payne of Oklahoma City, OK, Sherman E. Payne of Dover, Chester M. Payne of Germany; four sisters, Dorothy Meeks of Sandersville, GA, Fay Hendrixson of St. Louis, MO, Pat Owen of Dardanelle, Sandy Koch of Hot Springs; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services were held March 13, 2008 at Hatley Missionary Baptist Church in Dover with Bro. Lester Barnes officiating. Burial was at McFadden Cemetery in Dover. Edward Long, age 76 of Plainview died Thursday in a hospital at Danville. He was a retired employee of the State Forestry service and a Methodist.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Wright Long; three sons, James Long and Edward Long of Kansas City and Bobby Gene Long of North Little Rock; two daughters, Miss Grace Long of Benton and Mrs. Ima Dale Solaric of San Francisco; four brothers, Bynum Long, Ola Long and Adrain Long of North Carolina and Dewey Long of Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Delia Demmitt, Mrs. Bess Woodie, Mrs. Lillian Hart and Miss Norma Long of North Carolina; and eight grandchildren.

Emma Mae Long, age 91, a resident of Plainview, died Monday, June 4, 1984 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Sarah Josephine Sanders Wright, the widow of the late Edward Long. She was a member of the Salem Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, James H. Long of Plainview, Edward L. Long of Kansas City, Kansas, and Bobby G. Long of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Grace E. Grace E. Long, age 82, a resident of Ola, AR died Friday, May 26, 2000 at Yell County Nursing Home at Ola, AR. She was born on June 27, 1917 at Plainview, AR to Ed and Emma (Wright) Long. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Plainview, AR.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Leroy Long.

Survivors include a brother, James H. Long of Clinton, AR; a sister, Ima Solaric of San Francisco, CA and several nieces and nephews.

She was born January 22, 1922 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Doke H. & Lessie Faye Pool Reynolds. She was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church and a retired payroll clerk for Nestle's. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her sons Ronnie and Steve Long; sisters Lavene Sneed and Ruth Brunt; brother Billy Reynolds.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Walden of Marysville, CA; brothers, Don Reynolds of Danville; Windford Reynolds of Russellville; sister, Shirley Cloud of Santa Teresa, NM; daughter-in-law Alisha Stane- Guest of Alexander, AR; grandchildren Virginia Gowin, Stacey Flanary, Shelly Moreira, Jeff Long; Ronni Liu; and 8 great- grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth Long, age 85 of Havana, died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith. She was born September 1, 1917 in Lynnville, Iowa to the late Rolhe and Lona Mae Kiser Shaffer. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Havana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ralph Long; a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ward, and a sister, Eula Mae Flater.

Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Ernst of Belleville, Marie and Denny Wilkening of State Center, Iowa, Donna and Don McKinney of Havana; one brother, Glen Shaffer of Larens, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

James Roy Looper, age 69, of Belleville died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his home. He was born September 21, 1942 at Dardanelle to the late James Paul and Joyce Lucille Waid Looper. He was a founding member of the Faith Church in Dardanelle, former member of the Arkansas Cattleman's Association, and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Peter Hatfield.

Looper, Levey And Jimmy

A Fort Smith, father and son drowned Tuesday morning after a boat occupied by the victims, another youth and the mother of the boys, capsized on Fourche River about ten miles south of Nimrod Lake. The dead are Levey Looper, 34 years old, and his son, Jimmy Looper, age 12.

Looper, Paul

Paul Looper Killed In Tractor Accident Paul Looper, 42, farmer and stockman who lived on the lower Danville road south of Chickalah, was killed Monday afternoon when a tractor he was operating near his home overturned, pinning him beneath the steering wheel. A Dardanelle school bus driven by Stanley Mercer was the first to discover the body. On the bus was Paula Ann Looper, daughter of Mr. Looper, who identified her father. There were several other children on the bus being taken to their home. It is believed Mr. Looper had been dead for approximately two hours. Mr. Looper was a member of the Dardanelle School Board. He was a native of Yell County, and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and had been engaged in farming and dairying for several years.

He is survived by his widow, Lucille Waid Looper; one son, James Ray, 18, student at Tech; and one daughter, Paula Ann 13, of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Looper; a brother, Rev. L.P. Lopez, Dorothy Faye Chapman

Dorothy Faye Chapman Lopez, age 82 of Danville, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Mitchells Nursing Home. She was born April 28th, 1926 in Clarksville, Texas, the daughter of William W. Chapman and Ida Bell Strawn Chapman. She was a homemaker, living and raising her family in Phoenix, AZ. She and her husband, Fernando, retired to Danville, Arkansas in 1990 and they enjoyed their retirement to the fullest.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando; brother, Richard Chapman; and both of her parents.

Lopez, Fernando "Frank"

Fernando "Frank" Lopez, age 84 of Danville, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. Born December 27, 1924 in Florence, Arizona, he was the son of the late Fernando and Encarnasion Feliz Lopez. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, co-owner and vice-president of State Wide Painting in Arizona. After retirement, he and his wife Dorothy moved to Arkansas and enjoyed his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Chapman Lopez; son, Frank Lopez of Phoenix, AZ and Terry Lopez of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Jessica Leftwich, Miranda Amos, Andria Lopez; four great- grandchildren, Deztini Phillips, Nezerae Phillips, Mylo Amos, and Maxton Amos all of Phoenix and a host of nephews and nieces.

Lott, Carl

Mr. Carl Lott, age 80, of Dardanelle, AR died Tuesday, January 21, 1997 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born February 4, 1915 in McCurtain County, OK to the late Jake and Rhoda Smith Lott. He was a WWII Army Veteran, receiving the Purple Heart for his service to his country, a lifetime member of VFW Post 3141 and a Protestant"

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Buster, Russell, Homer, George, Jake and LeRoy and his sisters, Velda Lott and Ila Lott Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Atha, Apple Lott; a brother, Garvin Loft of Texarkana, TX; two sisters, Marie Darter and Bonnie Flurry both of Dardanelle; nephew and guardian Charles Lott of Dardanelle; also included are several nephews and nieces.

Services were January 27 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Jerry Rigdon, Chaplin of VFW Post 3141 officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cormwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Lott, Charles Everette "Charlie"

Charles Everette "Charlie" Lott, age 68, of Dardanelle died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born January 21, 1944 at Dardanelle to the late George and Melba Adams Lott. He attended Dardanelle First Baptist Church, was a mechanic for Entergy and a member of the Lion's Den Golf Club. After he retired from Entergy in 1999, he truly enjoyed life. He loved fishing, golfing with his morning buddies, working on golf carts and enjoyed life on the golf course. He loved spending time with his family, whether it be a week at deer camp, traveling to watch his sons golf or a simple family dinner. Yet more than anything, he loved spending time with his grandson Karston, who loved his "Dah".

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, LaQuita Ramey.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Delp Lott of Dardanelle; two sons, Kris and Cheyenne Lott, Kerry Lott all of Dardanelle; sisters, Hazel Latta (Phillip) of Atkins, Shirley Heflin (Jim) of Delaware and brother-in-law, Sam Ramey of Dardanelle; one grandson, Karston Lott of Dardanelle.

Johnny Lott, age 15, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR, He was born September 12, 1989 in Russellville, AR to Joe and Angie Lott. He was a Christian, loved hunting, automotive and enjoyed being with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Mrs. Maggie Grace Loupe, age 97, of the New Hope community, died Saturday, November 23, 1985. She was the widow of Sam Loupe and the daughter of the late John Allen Grace and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Grace. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

Gilbert Berry Lovan, 80 of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away December 17, 2010 in Paris, Arkansas. Gilbert was born on October 7, 1930 in Willow Springs, Missouri to the late William Gilbert and Sipa Rebecca (Berry) Lovan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sipa Lovan, wife, Louise (Smith) Lovan, sisters, Cleta Willborg and Franceline Cooksey and son, William Thomas Lovan.

He is survived by sons, Gary Lovan of Ola and David Lovan of Subiaco, daughter, Peggy Rockenhaus of Magazine, sister, Mary Spong of Clearwater, Florida, 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was cremated under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. There will be a private family committal service at a later date. Mrs. Walcia T. Love, age 86, of Dardanelle, AR widow of Louis Ed Love, Jr. died Saturday, February 15, 1997 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born April 15, 1910 in Guy, AR to the late W. H. and Ella Bivens Gentry. She was a teacher in the Ola and Dardanelle School Districts and with her husband, established Love's Flower Shop in Dardanelle which they operated for 31 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle.

Survivors include son daughter-in-law, Louis Ed III Brenda Love of Dardanelle; grandson, Louis Ed IV of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Susan Bakewell of Fayetteville and Virginia Race of Dardanelle; five great-grandsons, Louis Ed Love V, Ryan Love, Scott Love, Zach Race and Andrew Bakewell; three great-granddaughters, Kristin Race, Stephanie Bakewell and Andrea Love.
