Keener, Clinton Clyde

Clinton Clyde Keener, age 83 of Perryville, AR, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004. He was born November 1, 1920, in Onyx, AR, a son of Odie Keener and Nellie Sconce Keener. He was the widower of Pearline Penny Keener. He was an Army World War II veteran and a heavy equipment operator for McGeorge Construction Company, and the U. S. Forestry Service.

Survivors include one son, Steven Clyde Keener of Perryville; three daughters, Brenda Carol Cannon of Perryville, La Donna Gayle Williams of Houston, Kathy Jo Lee of Greenbrier; one brother, Earl Keener of Russellville; two sisters, Mildred Cunningham of Plainview, Mary Jo Jones of Spokane, Washington; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Keener, Earl R.

Earl R. Keener, age 93, of Russellville, AR died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Odie and Nellie Bell Sconce Keener, he was born November 7, 1916 in Onyx, Yell County, Arkansas. He married Flora Forrest on June 22, 1945 in Plainview. He was a member of Bakers Creek Baptist Church, the Nail Benders of Arkansas and Plainview Masonic Lodge 641. He enjoyed bird hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Judy Terry, Blanch Godwin and Norma Dale; one brother, Clyde Keener; nephew, Lance Cunningham; niece, Betty Sullivan; and mother-in-law, Floy Forrest.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Flora Keener; two sisters, Mildred Cunningham of Plainview and Mary Jo Jones of Seven Bays, WA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral was November 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church at Plainview with Rev. Doug White and Rev. Monroe Hunt officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery at Plainview under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at Plainview. Keener, Ethel (Jack)

Ethel Keener, 77, of Holdenville, Okla., died December 16 [15] in Holdenville. She had lived in Arkansas until 1924.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Muriel Sebastin of Wewoka, Okla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Keener, Flora Vaye (Forrest)

Flora Vaye Forrest Keener, age 93, of Russellville, AR, bid this old world goodbye on August 4, 2017. She was born to Floy Elizabeth Peeler and Foster G. Forrest, near Ola. She was the youngest of 9 children, and outlived all of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl; her brothers and their spouses, Jim and Mozell, Vermon and Mary, Charlie and Carl, Odell and Euda Mac, Arthur, Roy and Johnnie; her sisters and their spouses, Carl and Jewell Partin, Fay and Nelia Magness; precious nephews, Carl Mac, Troy Lee Forrest, Randell Forrest, Billy Magness, Timothy Potter, Travis Vaught and Steve Bryant; nieces, Mary Douthit and Vemell Bryant. She married Earl Keener in 1945. They had a very interesting and happy life for 64 1/2 years. They spent their life in Plainview, Hot Springs, Benton, and Russellville. They worked together at all times. If you saw one of them, you usually saw both. They loved making a garden and sharing with friends and family. They also enjoyed mowing and yard work. In fact, her mower and tiller were her favorite toys. From the age of 14 until she graduated high school, she worked on Saturdays for Roy and Gladys Mathis in their store in Plainview. After graduation, she worked in the Ration Office in Danville from 1942 until 1946. Then she worked at First State Bank of Plainview for 9 years. She and Earl moved to Hot Springs and she worked for First National Bank in Hot Springs for 20 years. Flora then helped to start and open Grand National Bank in Hot Springs where she worked for 5 years. In 1977, she left the banking profession and worked for Safeway Store # 218 in Hot Springs until she retired in 1986.

She leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Mildred Cunningham of Plainview, and Mary Jo Jones and husband Charles of Spokane, WA; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Bakers Creek Baptist Church of Russellville and former member of the Nail Benders Group of Arkansas. She always worked in her various churches and really enjoyed it.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Plainview First Baptist Church. Bro. Brian Sligh and Bro. Roy Brooks officiated. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery in Plainview, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation was from 1-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers were nephews Doug Forrest, Preston Forrest, Russell Forrest, Clint King, Justin Lancaster, and Jon Thomas. Keener, Frances Angelique "Angie"

Frances Angelique "Angie" Keener, age 46, of Dover, AR died Saturday, December 2, 2006. She was born September 9, 1960 at Russellville to William Paul and Frances Kay Pyle Keener. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Inola, OK and was a cheerleader and majorette while attending high school in Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Keener.

Survivors include her daughter, Dangie Kay Wingo of Dover; a son Michael Paul Parks of Dardanelle, AR; her father, William Keener of Inola, OK; a brother, Rusty Paul Keener of Russellville; a sister, Ella Jayne Keener of Dover and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 2:00 p. m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Pastor Jared Higginbotham officiating. Keener, Glyda Swaim

Glyda Swaim Keener, age 96, of Onyx, died Thursday, July 24, 2003. She was born on February 27, 1907 at Aly, the daughter of Otis Polk Swaim and Jodie Rainwater Swaim. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Democratic Party.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orr Bates, and her second husband, Jess Keener.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday, July 26, 2003 in the Aly Community Church with Bob Fallen officiating. Interment was in Aly Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Pallbearers were Fred Swaim, Jr. Ricky Lee, Kenneith Swaim, Charlie Yates, Travis Swaim and Royce Swaim. Honorary were Fred and Willa Jo Bleese and the employees of Crown Trace Villa. Keener, Henderson Monroe

Henderson Monroe Keener was born January 13, 1870, in Hambleton County, Tenn. Died April 5, 1941, age 71 years 2 months and 28 days. In December, 1870 he came with his parents to Yell County where he grew to manhood and spent the greater part of his life near Ranger. He professed religion at the age of 20 and was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church South living in that faith until death.

Life was united in marriage to Addie Kirkpatrick (who preceded him in death in July 1892). To this union was born seven children, Eunice Havner, Blue Ball Arkansas, Mary Lowery, deceased, Lula Brand, Belleville, Gentry Keener, Danville, Ivar Barnett, Maysville, Oklahoma, Willie Rone, St. Joseph, Louisiana, and Willie Barnett, Danville.

Keener, Herman Guy

Herman Guy Keener, age 61, of Pottsville died Wednesday, December 21, 1983 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Little Rock. He was a native of Atkins, the son of E. H. Keener of Pottsville and the late Irene Reed Keener. He was a retired owner and operator of Keener Grocery Store at Pottsville, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Air Force, and a member of the American Legion and Pottsville United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to his father, include two sons, Herman David Keener of Russellville and William Donnie Keener of Huntsville; a daughter, Mrs. Avona Chansley of Pottsville; three brothers, Grady Harold Keener of Visalia, Calif. Donald Beiman Keener of Marshall, Mo. and Thomas Reed Keener of St. Louis, Mo. and six grandchildren. His wife, Mrs. Floy Taylor Keener, preceded him in death February 9, 1983.

Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Pottsville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harold Brent and the Rev. Thomas Morris. Keener, Jackson Will

Funeral services for Jackson Will Keener, age 71, resident of Onyx who was injured fatally in an auto accident near Williams, Ariz., last week, were conducted Tuesday at Steve Baptist Church by Rev. J. F. Perry, Plainview. Burial was held in the Shed Cemetery in charge of Cornwell Funeral Home.

Mr. Keener and two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Yates, Onyx, and Miss Jennie Keener, Onyx, and two grandchildren were enroute to California, at the time of the accident.

A native of Yell County, he is survived by two sons, Jess Keener, Onyx and Ellis Keener, Quincy, Calif.; two daughters, who were with him at the time of the accident; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Partain, Dardanelle and Mrs. Ola Partain, Plainview; two brothers, Odie of Plainview and R. Jennie Bell Keener, age 97, of Plainview, AR died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at Fort Smith, AR. She was born on December 13, 1901 in Steve, Yell County, Arkansas to the late will and Nellie Kirby Keener. She was a retired receptionist for Doctors Herr and Bull at the Plainview Clinic.

Keener, John A. "Albie"

John A. "Albie" Keener, 94, of Little Rock, AR formerly of Russellville, AR died Friday, December 24, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was the son of Orlando and Willie Myrtle (Harris Keener, he was born November 10, 1910 in Ranger, Arkansas. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II serving with the 5th Army, Company D, 301st Quartermaster Battalion in Europe and Africa. He was a retired barber with Fort Roots V. A. Hospital. He enjoyed gardening and volunteering in the nursing homes in Russellville cutting residents hair, and he was an avid fan of professional baseball after playing the game in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a longtime member of the West Side Church of Christ and also became a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Myers Keener, two sisters, Mildred Crites and Lola Woods and a brother, Oswell Keener.

He is survived by wife, Geraldine Keener, Little Rock, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda & James Ammel of Little Rock, AR; two stepsons and step daughter-in-law, Alfred and Sue McGhee, Little Rock, AR, Samuel McGhee, Lemore, CA; four step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren.

Lola L. Keener, age 85, a resident of Plainview, AR died Thursday, December 11, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville, AR. She was born on May 22, 1912 at Yell County, AR to Newton and Lizzie Lowery. She was a homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church of Plainview and the Danville Sr. Citizen Center. She was the widow of the late Odie Keener, and was preceded in death by seven sisters, one brother, one-step daughter and one grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Lucille Keener, age 77, of Fort Smith, AR died Sunday, January 13, 2002. She was with J. C. Penny's for 30 years as Manager of Catalog and Credit department. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a member of the Women's Ministry.

Manuel E. Keener, Sr. age 71 of Danville, AR died Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at his home in Danville. He was born May 20, 1927 in Danville, AR to the late Gentry and Nomia Esther Barnett Keener. He was a Pentecostal minister and a member of the Magazine Pentecostal Church.

Marion E. Keener, age 67, of London, AR died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Russellville Nursing Center. She was born January 28, 1937 to the late Anthony William and Alice Emily Langtry Hay ward at St. George's Bermuda. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rev. James Rogers.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, William (Bill) Keener of London; one daughter Angelia (Angie) Rogers of London; two granddaughters, Jennifer Bishop of Russellville and Nichole (Nikki) Vanderveer of Hattieville and one great granddaughter.

George; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday at Cornwell Chapel in Danville with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial was at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Keeney, Gary Lynn

Gary Lynn Keeney, 63, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at St. Mary Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1949, in Willets, California to the late Melvin Benton and Alpha Lucille Barnes Keeney. He was a retired as J.C. Westside Elementary School principal, had been an elementary principal at Bald Knob, and had taught in Paron. He was an Army veteran, a member of NRA, Retired Teachers Association, and AARP. Keeney, Ilene Paralee (Caughern)

Ilene Paralee Keeney, age 91, of Plainview passed away Sunday, March 20 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 17, 1919 in Hodgen, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus "CC" and Francis Viola "Vi" Doyle Caughern. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and cook for her family, raising a beautiful garden each year. She canned and stored food for the winter months. Paralee attended the First Baptist Church in Plainview.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wesley E. Keeney, brothers, Billy Caughern, Zelbert Ray Caughern, sisters, M.A. Imogene Sims, Gladys McCurtain and Freda Stewart.

Survivors include two sons, John Keeney and Kenneth Keeney both of Russellville; and a daughter, Ann Roberts of Plainview, brother, Charles Caughern, sisters, Evelyn Widmar and Janette Wickwire all of Hodgen, Oklahoma; 6 grand-children and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 22, 2011, at Cornwell Chapel in Danville with Brother Ronnie Garrett officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery, Plainview. Lucille Keeney, 88, of Danville, AR, died Monday, May 15, 2006 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was the daughter of John and Tempie Dythulia Duncan Barnes; she was born March 25, 1918 in Summerfield, OK. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin Benton Keeney; one son; Donald Keeney; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include one son Gary Keeney of Russellville; one daughter and son-in-law Veta & Leo of Plainview; one daughter-in-law, Vickie Keeney of Zeo, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; numerous great-great great grandchildren.

Melvin Donald "Donnie" Keeney, age 64, of Hodgen, OK died Monday, October 6, 1997 in Hodgen of injuries from a car accident. He was a lifelong resident of the area, member of the Zoe Baptist Church and Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie; two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Lambert of Barling, OK and Sherry Lynn "Keeney" and Dennis Maddox of Howe, OK; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Brenda of Muldrow, OK and Shawn of Zoe, OK; his step-mother, Lucille Keeney of Plainview, AR; a sister, Veta Rickard of Plainview, AR; a brother, Gary Lynn Keeney of Hot Springs, AR and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Benton Keeney and a grandchild.

Keilch, Jack L.

Jack L. Keilch, age 82 of Little Rock, passed away on April 9, 2008, He was born on May 15, 1925 in Dardanelle. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Marine Corp in the Pacific on Guam and the Marianna Islands. He was employed by the Arkansas State Highway Department in the Financial Department for 38 years. Upon his retirement he began volunteering at Baptist Health in Little Rock where he served on the Auxiliary Board as treasurer for 10 years up until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Alice Keilch, twin brother, sister and daughters Patricia Rose, Carol Sue and Mary Margaret.

He is survived by his wife Rita P. Keilch of Little Rock; sister Dixie Meyer of Centralia, Washington and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary was said on April 11 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 12, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Msgr. Francis Malone celebrant. Keilch, Mary Alic

Mrs. Mary Alic Keilch, age 102, of Dardanelle, AR Monday, July 28, 1997 at the Atkins Nursing Center. She was born July 10, 1895 to the late Judge John H. and Mary A. Jone Keilch in Dover, AR. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle where she had served as deacon, teaching elder and president of the Women's organization. She was a cherished charter member of the Dardanelle Business and Professional Women's Club which she served as a faithful member; she was also a member of the Russellville Chapter of the AARP.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Buddy) F. Keilch; a son, Richard F. Kei h, Jr., a daughter, Alice Mae McCarson and a granddaughter, Patricia Rose Keilch.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Pat Keilch of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. John L. Meyer of Winlock, WA; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
