George, Robert "Jack"

Robert Jack George, age 70, of Ola died Tuesday, June 4th at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was a native of Centerville and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Foster George; a son, Bobby George of Ola; four daughters, Mrs, Carolyn Cook of Berniece, La., Mrs. Peggy Mahan and Mrs. June Reynolds of Ola and Mrs. Judy Padgett of Plainview; three brothers, Bill and Red George of Ola and Jim George of Calif.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Nona Eidson and Mrs. Nettie King of Okla., and Mrs. Ethel Bishop of Texas; five grandchildren and a great-grand-daughter.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6th at the Ola Church of Christ. Burial was in Mt. George Cemetery by Cornwall Funeral Service of Dardanelle. Pall bearers were: active, John and Kenneth George, Tate Meeks, Squire DeLoach, Harlon Porter and Robert Buford. George, Roy

Roy George, age 80, died November 8, 1986 in a hospital. He was the son of the late Tom and Gallic Haney George and was preceded in death by a son David Wayne George.

He is survived by his wife, Ann George, one son, William R. George, three daughters Louise George of the home Diana Raise of Maywood and Shirley George of La Mirada, CA and three grandchildren.

George, Roy Luther

Roy Luther George, 75, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born August 2, 1937, in Russellville to James Autry and Ivory Irene Hatfield George. He was a retired salesman for Unisource Paper Company and in later years a cattle farmer, a member of Ard Church of Christ, former member of the NFLCC (National Fishing Lures Collectors Club), Cattlemen's Association and the Coon Hunters Association. He was an avid fisherman, coon hunter, and artificial fishing lure collector.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Blake George; four sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Jernigan George; one son and daughter-in-law, James Edward and Rhonda George of Dardanelle; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rhonda Lynn George of Eagle River, Alaska, and Kelley and Thara Honghiran of Russellville; ten grandchildren, Alexa George, Hailee George, Joshua George and wife, Tiffany, Gracie Anderson, Ivory Anderson, George Wright and wife, Christina, Mallory Berry and husband, Alec, Collin George, Mary-Kate Honghiran and Madelyn Honghiran; two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Shinn Funeral Chapel officiated by Mr. Jim Miller and Mr. Ray Edwards. Burial will be in Ard Cemetery, near Dardanelle by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Pallbearers will be Joshua George, Gordon Miller, James Miller, Collin George, Kyle Rollans and Ray Edwards. Samuel David George, infant son of Brent and Kelley George, was born on April 9th, 2016 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock. Samuel went home to be with his heavenly father this same day. He was deeply loved and cherished by his family.

Shirley "Sparky" George, age 67, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Sparks Memorial Hospital in Ft. Smith. Born November 25, 1939 in Mt. George, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Fred & Mary Davis George. He was retired from Doyne Electron Corp. and a 32nd mason.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services for Thad M. George, 66, of Newellton, LA were held Saturday at the Newellton Church of Christ with Luther Richardson, assisted by Rev. A. D. Foster, officiating.

Burial was in Legion Memorial Cemetery. Mr. George died early Friday morning in a Newellton hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Yell County and had lived in Newellton for the past 38 years.

Theodore "Doc" George, age 79, of Route 1, Danville, died Thursday, November 14, 1986 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a native of Mount George and a retired farmer.

George, Tommy Lee

Truck Wreck Is Fatal To Tommy George - Tommy Lee George, 16, of Danville died at a Magnolia Hospital Saturday night of a broken neck and multiple fractures of the skull suffered in a truck accident Saturday morning. The accident occurred about10 miles east of Magnolia on Highway 82. Tommy, who was visiting his brother at Emerson, was with other boys in a pickup truck returning from hauling pulpwood. They were crossing a bridge when a plank flew up and hit the front of the truck, knocking it off the bridge. The three boys riding in the back with Tommy were not injured. DARDANELLE - Venus Fay George, age 80, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, May 22, 1985 at Stella Manor Nursing Home at Russellville. He was the son of the late Walter Hardin and Jimmie Boyd George, a retired police officer for the city of Dardanelle and a member of Dardanelle Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Stanley Venus George; a son, George Stanley George of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Niblock of Little Rock, Mrs. Polly Benafield of Oxnard, Ca. and Mrs. Penny Murdaugh of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Nolen George of Detroit, Mich. and Boyd George of Dardanelle; a sister, Mrs. Oma Fulton of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Vicki Jeanene "Coffey" George, age 53, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home. She was born March 7, I960 at Russellville to the late William "Bill" and Ema Lea Wells Coffey. She was of the Baptist Faith, she loved her job ana spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Judkins and wife Jennifer of Springdale, Nick George of Dardanelle and Fiance Taylor Freeman of Hector. Gerling, James Lee "Jim"

James "Jim" Lee Gerling age 74 of Russellville died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born February 19, 1939 at Munster, Ohio to the late Herman August and Evelyn Catherine Brumbaugh Gerling. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Atkins. Jim loved to fish, hunt, play golf, and watch stock car races and football.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Gerling.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years Patricia Ann Gerling of Russellville; three daughters, Laura Ann Scurry of Reno Nevada, Norma Jane Nicholls of Glen Haven, California and Dawn Marie Gerling of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Rodney James Scurry of Kyle, Texas and Dallas Brooks Scurry of Reno, Nevada; one brother, Melvin Gerling of Loveland, Colorado; three sisters, Shirley Watts of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Janet Toreksdorf of Bradenton, Florida and Carole Hubbard of Parrish, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Alsa Leon (Papa) Geurian, age 97, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born October 26, 1906 to the late Oscar Benson and Arrah Mae Jones Geurian. He worked as a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Geurian; six brothers and one sister.

He is survived by two sons, Bentley and gene Geurian of Dardanelle; a daughter, Barbara Brown of Macon, GA; one brother, Thomas "Mutt" Geurian of Ft. Smith; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nephews and nieces.

Geurian, Alva

Alva Geurian, age 92 of Dardanelle, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born July 22, 1910 in Yell County, Arkansas to the late Oscar Benson and Ira Mae Jones Geurian. He was a former and a retired janitor for the Dardanelle Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Faulkner Geurian; a sister, Mildred Pockrus and five brothers, Floyd, Opal, Everett, Tom and Neal Geurian.

Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Edward Harris of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Tammy Harris, Amanda and Bill Deese all of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Paula Matheny and Jim Harris of Dardanelle; brothers, Alsa Geurian of Dardanelle, Garland Geurian of Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Bailey Deese of Virginia Beach, Virginia and a number of nephews, nieces and friends.

Services were Monday, May 10, 2003 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. David Downam officiating. Geurian, Billy Farral

Billy Farral Geurian, age 69, of Dardanelle, AR, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born September 24, 1936 at Slatey Crossing, AR to the late Everette Gordon and Mildred Marie Pockrus Geurian.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sue Geurian of Dardanelle, AR; two sons, Rickey and David Geurian both of Dardanelle, AR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey and Bill McMullen of Dardanelle, AR and Linda and John Rego of New Blaine, AR; a brother, Frank Geurian of Dardanelle, AR; a sister, Anita Tilley of Dardanelle, AR; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service was March 20, 2006 at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Denver Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Ringer Cemetery. DARDANELLE - Everett Gordon Geurian, age 71, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, January 15, 1985. He was the son of the late Oscar and Arrah Jones Geurian, and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Christy Geurian; two sons, Billy and Frankie Geurian of Dardanelle; a daughter, Anita Tilley of Russellville; seven brothers, Alsa, Floyd, Alva, Opal and Neil Geurian of Dardanelle, Garland Geurian of Lavaca and Tom Geurian of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Geurian, Lorena Howard

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Lorena Howard Geurian, age 72, of Dardanelle died Friday, February 21, 1986 at St. Vincent Infirmary at Little Rock. She was a native of the Sand Ridge community in Logan County, a housewife, businesswoman and daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Johnson Howard.

Survivors include her husband, Grady Geurian; two sons, Glen Geurian and David Geurian of Dardanelle; two daughters, Mary Gosnell of Fayetteville and Donna Teeter of Russellville; a brother, Raymond Howard of Midway; two sisters, Ora Dale Hutchinson of Paris arid Erma Rhea Hardwick of Valiant, Okla. and seven grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 10 a. m. Monday, February 24, at Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle by the Rev. David Bishop. Burial will be by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle. Lowell Gene Geurian, age 67, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, July 10, at River Valley Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1945 at Braggadocio, Missouri to the late Alsa Leon and Martha Maroney Geurian. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Baptist Church, a self employed carpenter, and coached girls softball for years as well as Tech soccer and basketball teams. His horses were his love and passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leon Geurian.

Survivors include a brother, Bentley Geurian; sister, Barbara Gail Brown; 4 nephews; 2 nieces; many great nephews and nieces; some great-great nephews and nieces; cousins, and friends. Memorial services were July 15, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle.

Survivors include eight sons, Alva Geurian, Everett Geurian and Alsa Geurian, all of Dardanelle, Neil Geurian, Floyd Geurian, Opal Geurian and Garland Geurian, all of Fort Smith, and James Geurian of California; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Pockrus of California; a brother, G. C. Geurian of Dardanelle; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rena Elza Geurian, 78, of Dardanelle died Sunday, July 11, at Dardanelle Hospital. She was a native of Dardanelle, a daughter of the late Jim and Elza Collins Jones, and was a member of the Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, G. C. Geurian; two sons, Grady Geurian of Dardanelle and Herman Geurian of Garland, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Garner of Dardanelle; eight grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Gheen, Karen Wynn Woolbright

Karen Wynn Woolbright Gheen, 50, wife of Tom Gheen formerly of Chickalah Mt, Belleville, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006. She had been a licensed resident insurance agent in Arkansas and held the designation of certified insurance counselor. She taught insurance courses for the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas. Also she worked as a sales agent for the Cashion Company, Inc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Marj Woolbright and her brother Hal Woolbright.

Funeral serves were held Friday, September 2, 2006 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Eulogist was Mr. Craig Cannon and burial was in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband Tom Gheen of Springdale; two daughters, Cori and her husband James Maner of Ft. Smith and Nicki Gheen of Springdale; two sons, Eric and his wife Lindsey of Greenland and Tommy Gheen of Springdale; two brothers, Rich Wayland of Nashville, TN, and Bill Woolbright of Vian. Pallbearers were Jordan Woolbright, Ryan Woolbright, Benson Cashion, Jerry Stumbaugh, Chris Bannister, Austin Ervin, Craig Daws, and Mike Lanier. Porter Gibbs, 66, of Havana died Sunday in a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired farmer and stockman and was a member of the Havana Assembly of God Church.

Gibson, Hettie Witt

Hettie Witt Gibson, age 93, a life-long resident of London, AR died peacefully on Good Friday, April 21, 2000 at St. Mary's surrounded by her family. She was born September 20, 1906 at London near the site of Arkansas Nuclear One to John Newton and Martha Reed Witt. On January 1, 1928 she was married to John W. Gibson, a farmer and peach grower, who died on June 21, 1966. She was a homemaker, a member for more than seventy years of the London Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by, her husband, parents and an infant daughter; four brothers, Guy, Everett, Allison and Ernest Witt and five sisters, Mary Witt, Minnie Wheeler, Ruth Toczak, Annice Rachel and Lydia Hudlow.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Ed and Mary Kay Gibson of London, AR; two daughters, Johna G. Roedenbeck of London, AR and Ruth E. Smith of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Audrey Witt and a host of nieces and nephews, including Bettye Rachel and Opal Parnell.

Funeral service was April 24, 2000 at the London Assembly of God Church officiated by Rev. Sam Witt and assisted by Rev. Jerry Schlinker. Burial was at Rest haven Memorial Park at Russellville, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert Jackson, Darrell Jackson and a daughter, Sandra White.

Janice Gideon, age 70, of Dardanelle, AR widow of J. C. Gideon, died Friday, September 1, 2000 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born August 22, 1930 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Seth Murry and Maude M. Sturdevant Murdock. She was a retired document examiner for the Arkansas Department of Health, a 1952 graduate of Harding College and a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ.

She is survived by, two sisters, Zeta Abrahason of Albuquerque, NM and Tiny Grimes of McKinney, TX and several nephews and nieces.

Service was Monday, September 4, 2000 at the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR. Active pallbearers were elders and deacons of the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to Camp Caudle or the Southern Christian Home, 209 Union Street, Dardanelle, AR 72834.
