Grace, John Brannon

John Brannon Grace, age 16, died suddenly at his home in Washington, D. C. early Wednesday morning. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. J. K. Grace, formerly of Belleville.

Grace, Lula Eudora (Baird) (Mrs.)

Mrs. John Grace, wife of late Dr. John Grace, died at her home in Belleville January 23 after a long illness.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. N. Saterfield and Mrs. Wallace Bailey, Russellville; Mrs. J. A. Pane, Belleville; Mrs. Stuard Keathley, Danville; and five sons, Dave, Danville; O. O., Jonesboro; Dr. J. K., Belleville; A. B. and Dale of the home, also a foster son Rev. Chas. Finch, Pine Bluff; also Mrs. And Dr. John Grace reared Oil Williams, Belleville, for several years, also three sisters, Mrs. Tom Hames; Mrs. Tull Banks and Mrs. Roberts, all of Dardanelle and their 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Dr. John Grace Memorial Baptist church, erected in memory of Dr. Grace January 25 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Chas Finch, Pine Bluff, assisted by Rev. J. D. Baker, local pastor. This obituary cannot tell the many good traits of this good woman because like her husband, the late Dr. John Grace, she seldom "let not your left hand know what thy right hand doeth" their good acts were not told. Perhaps it will suffice to say that she was a noble helpmate to her noble husband that time is not helping us to forget. Grace, Naomi Mae

Naomi Mae Grace, age 93, of Pass-Christian, Mississippi (formerly of Russellville) died Sunday, October 23, 2000 at Miramar Lodge. She was a daughter of the late Twiggs and Lillie Dowell Brown, born August 17, 1907 in Belleville, AR. She was the widow of Dr. Jesse K. Grace. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Brannon Grace.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allan Dale and Josette B. Grace of Diamondhead, MS.

Graveside service and burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday at the Upper Spring Creek Cemetery near Danville with Rev. Clefton Vaughan officiating. Arrangements by Shinn Funeral Service. Grace, Ruby Nell (Kuhn)

Ruby Nell Grace, 87, of Little Rock, formerly of Russellville, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 27, 1924, in Dardanelle to Noah Layfette and Lota Salina Piercey Kuhn. Ruby was a member of First Baptist Church at Russellville for more than 60 years, where she enjoyed the Young at Heart seniors group. After moving to Little Rock, she became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Ruby was very involved in working for the improvement of the care of mentally disabled children. There is a group home for mentally challenged adults in Russellville called Grace House. She was a former employee of P.O.M. in Russellville.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Grace; a son, Thomas R. "Ricky" Grace, who was born with Downs Syndrome; and a grandson, Richard T. Lambert III.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita and Bill Donnell and Pam Lambert, all of Little Rock; a sister, Edna Faye Grace of Dardanelle; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Dardanelle under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the chapel. Grace, Thomas Dale

Thomas Dale Grace, age 87, of South Gate, California, died May 3, 2002 at home with his wife Virginia by his side. He was born in Belleville, Arkansas on April 11, 1915, the youngest child of the late Dr. John and Lulu Baird Grace. His parents and sisters preceded him in death. He was united in marriage with Virginia "Pinky" Clark, formerly of Havana, Arkansas on Jan. 3, 1941. They were married more than 61 years at the time of his death. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for more than 34 years and had been retired for 25 years. Dale was a Mason for more than 66 years. He belonged to the Belleville Lodge. He served in the Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his wife Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ike Aguilar; granddaughter and husband, Stephanie and Chuck Rogers, and grandson and wife, Jeffrey and Katherine Aguilar, and two great granddaughters, Hanna and Maya Rose.

Grace, William G. "Bill"

William G. "Bill" Grace, Sr., 87, of Russellville, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The 10th of 14 children of C.C. and Cleo Moore Grace, he was born September 29, 1926 in the South New Hope Community. He was a 1945 graduate of Dardanelle High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, during which he served on the USS Savannah-CL42, the USS Augusta-CA31 and the USS San Francisco-CA38. After the war, he attended Arkansas Polytechnic College and received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas in 1952. He and Mary Lee McConnell were married on November 26, 1952 at Benton. In 1957, he founded Grace Termite and Pest Control which he operated until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Lovingly called "Nippie" by his grandchildren, he enjoyed teaching them to fish as soon as they could sit in his boat and hold a fishing pole. Mr. Grace also enjoyed gardening and was an avid Razorback Fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom, Jack, Glen, Frank, John and Charlie Grace all of whom served in the US military, and Ben Grace who stayed home during the war and worked the family farm; sisters, Elizabeth Fink and Mary Roggencamp.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lee Grace, Russellville; daughter, Rebecca Riedmueller and husband Pat, Pottsville, son, William Garrett Grace, Jr., Dardanelle; son, Greg Grace and wife Amy, Russellville; daughter, Jennifer Henriksen and husband Kevin, Morrison, OK; 7 grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Riedmueller, Ryan, Spencer and Sawyer Grace, Jared Henriksen and Jamie Booker; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Inez Overcash, Houston, TX; Anna Lee Richardson, Terrell, TX, Sarah Whitford, Centerville; brother, Lloyd Grace, Van Buren.

Funeral Service was held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Greg Sykes will officiate. Burial will be at Ard Cemetery in Dardanelle, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Grady, Leslie

Leslie Grady, 94, died Monday, August 25, 2008, in Russellville. Born June 3, 1914, in Prairie County, he was the son of Finus L. and Lillian Davis Grady. He was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy in Tennessee and attended the University of Arkansas. His early career was in law enforcement, serving with the Prairie County Sheriff's Department, the Arkansas State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Following World War II, he returned to Arkansas where he was a partner in G&H Diaper Service in Little Rock before returning to public service with the Arkansas Department of Revenue and the U.S. Office of Price Stabilization. In 1952, he became Industrial Relations Manager with the Westinghouse Electric Corp., serving at plants in Little Rock and Salina, Kan., until his retirement in 1976. Service to others was the hallmark of Mr. Grady's life. Among his activities were his terms as president of the Family Service Agency of Pulaski County and chairman of the East Yell County Unit of the American Cancer Society. He also worked actively with the Mounted Patrol and Meals on Wheels in Yell County. Mr. Grady was active in Lions Club, serving as president of clubs in Little Rock, Salina and Dardanelle. He was a retired life member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. He also was very active in the Presbyterian Church, serving as elder at Westover HIlls in Little Rock and at First Church in Dardanelle. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Edith Booth Grady, with whom he had two children, Leslie Grady Jr. of Clemson, S.C., and Susan G. Schubert of Russellville, who survive.

He is survived by his wife, Annielaura Jaggers-Grady of Russellville; a brother-in-law, B.T. McFadden of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Vera Grady of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a daughter-in-law, Joni K. Grady of Clemson. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle. Internment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc, Ark.

Graham, Clinton Ray

Clinton Ray Graham, age 51, passed away suddenly at his home in Waldron, AR, Friday September 26, 2014. Born June 21, 1963 in Lubbock, TX to J.D.

and Bobbie Jean (Woodall) Graham, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter Macy Lea Graham, grandparents Arvel and Irene Graham of Waldron and Chester (Chet) and Tiny Woodall of Danville. Clinton was a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church of Waldron where he served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was employed at Arkansas Valley Electric Co-op for 33 years, was a Master electrician, raised hunting dogs and loved hunting with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, wife of thirty years, Tammy (Swisher) Graham; daughter and son in law Larissa and Dylan House and grandson Weston, brother Carlton Graham and wife Meredith all of Waldron. Brother Chris Graham, wife Christy and nephew Jacob of Berryville, AR, niece Danielle (Graham) Jameson and husband Whit of Greenwood AR.

Funeral was held Tuesday September 30th at Harmony FWB Church with Rev. David Williams and Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Internment was at Seahorn Cemetery near Waldron. Pallbearers were Myrtie Owens, Rick Black, Joey Brown, Mike Stringer, Chris Howe, Clay Woodall and honorary were employees of Arkansas valley Electric Co-op. James Edward Graham, age 85, of Plainview died Monday, December 16, 1985. He was a native of Tennessee and was a retired Civil Service employee.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Youtha Graham; a son, Wilburn Graham of Harrisburg; three daughters, Bonnie Cannon of Tuckerman, and Alice Whitney and Betty Easton of Harrisburg; two stepsons, Robert Austin of Orlando, Fla. and John Chance of Oregon; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Williams of Plainview, Fran Reece of Ola and Christine Limbird of California; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.

Linda Fay Graham, age 61, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Mitchells Nursing Home. Linda was born April 4, 1954, in Russellville to the late Darrell Lee & Lois Lorene Vaughn Reed. She was a mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; brother-in-law, Alton Webb and niece, Candy Reed.

Survivors include her children, Robert & Janice Blankenship of Harvey; Jonathan Graham & Destenie Keen of Booneville; Robin & Harry Rhoades of Gravelly; brother, Cecil Reed of Briggsville; sister, Jewel Webb of Briggsville; grandchildren, Ethan Blankenship; Madison, Destiny, Michael & Samuel Graham; Michelle, Samantha & Lillie Rhoades; and a host of family and friends.

Graham, RM "Shorty"

RM "Shorty" Graham, 86, of Mt George, Arkansas passed away August 11, 2013 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 13, 1926 in Sugar Grove, Arkansas to Johny and Gernie Smith Graham. He spent his childhood on a cotton farm and swore the best invention to date was not a computer but the cotton picker. He met his wife and lifelong love Imogene Littleton and was married shortly before he enlisted in the Army. He served during WWII in General MacArthur's motor pool and in the Engineers during the Korean War. He returned home safely from serving his country and moved to Cleveland, Ohio to work for General Motor Company. He was soon called home to care for his ailing in-laws in Arkansas where he bought some land and started a small farm in Mount Geroge, AR. He and Imogene had one son, Glendon Graham. His devoted son Glendon, his wife Donna, and their two children Jackie and Nick lived beside him in Mount George. RM was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, farming, and spending time with his friends and family. He, Imogene, and his dear friends Robert and Virginia Frost often held town fish fries. He was a good story teller and town legend. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Johny & Gernie Graham, his wife Imogene Graham, and his sister, Johnna Faye McGee.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Glendon and Donna Graham of Mount George, two grandchildren, Jackie Lee of Stillwater Oklahoma and Nick Graham of Lowell, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with Charles King officiating. Burial will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Graham, Youtha (Adcock)

Youtha Adcock Graham, 92, of Carter Cove, passed peacefully September 14, 2014, with her family by her side. Born in Bluffton to the late Sam and Leona Adcock.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Dorothy Williams; grandson, Dennis Gililland; brothers, Cecil, Darrel and Harold Adcock; sisters, Eva Lee Adcock, Sue Quails and Ann Hunt.

Survived by sons Johnny Chance of Carter Cove, Robert Austin of Orlando, FL; daughters, Fran Reece (Bud) of Mt. George, and Christine Gulley (Tim) of Fairhaven, CA; sisters Linda Short of Hot Springs, Mary Lazenby of Plainview and 16 grandchildren, 22 great grand-children and six great-great grandchildren. Youtha worked at the Ola Nursing home and showed compassion to all patients. She loved the Lord, her family, friends, and all animals. She loved gardening and cooking and fulfilled all meal requests, from chocolate gravy to squirrel dumplings.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Plainview, AR; visitation was one hour prior to service. Chaplain Don Erwin will officiate. Joe Gramling, age 71 of Belleville, died Wednesday, March 10, 2009 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born August 8, 1937 in Paragould, AR to the late James and Selma Tedder Gramling. He was a Methodist minister.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Eleanor Jean Martin Gramling; daughter, Tina and Allen Scott of Benton; sons, Bobby and Pam Chick, Billy and Wilma Chick all of Hartman and Paul Gramling of Maumelle; sisters, Ima Shipman of Paragould, Betty Holland of Adrain, MJ; brother, Jim and Debra Gramling of Paragould; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Grant, Harold Eugene

Harold Eugene Grant, age 74 of Dardanelle, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at his home. He was born February 18, 1934 at Bearden to the late Edgar Perry and Lena Pate Grant. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dardanelle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Doyle Franklin Grant; sisters, Helen Marie Short and Mary Louise King.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Grant of Dardanelle; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kathleen Grant of Dardanelle, Michael and Danette Grant of Pottsville, Doug and Sharon Grant of Dardanelle; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Allen Chesney of Moreland; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Mary Rose Grant of Dumas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren.

Joe Don Grant, age 68, of Russellville, AR died Monday, June 5, 2000 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1932 at Dover to Ermil and Rosa L. (Turner) Grant. He was retired from refrigeration maintenance and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Richard Grant and a son-in-law, Charles Joe Walters.

Survivors include, his wife, Virginia Grant of the home; two sons, Joe Grant Jr. and Kenney Stumbaugh both of Russellville, AR; four daughters, Donna Walters of Dover, Carol Moss of Russellville, Marcia Waldo of London and Patty Rook of Dardanelle, AR; one brother and sister-in-law, Wynona Faye and Leon Vaughan; four grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Grantz, Hazel Virginia

Hazel Virginia Grantz, age 56 of Onyx, AR died Saturday, September 25, 1999 at her home in Onyx. She was born November 10, 1942 in Weston, MO to the late James and Elizabeth Estes. She was a self-employed truck driver.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Arlene Grantz.

Survivors are her husband, Larry E. Grantz Sr. one son and daughter-in-law, Larry E. Grau, Nola Rankin

Mrs. Nola Rankin Grau, 96, of Russellville died today. She was the widow of Arthur Grau and daughter of the late John Robert Rankin and Exline Albright Rankin. Her grandparents, William White Rankin and Martha Frances Davidson Rankin, came to this area in the 1830s and settled in the old Dwight Mission area. Mrs. Grau was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a nephew, John Lawrence Rankin of New Orleans, La. and four nieces, Mrs. J. M. Duffie of Hope, Mrs. A. B. Cobb of Little Rock, Mrs. Cleo Cheek of Atkins, and Mrs. R. M. Priddy of Russellville.

Graves, Beatrice Lavanche (Williams)

Beatrice Lavanche Graves, age 91, of Dover died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her home. She was born June 11, 1919 at Paris. She was a long-time member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Dardanelle, AR and she spent her entire life singing and listening to Gospel music. She was the daughter of the late William N. and Dollie M. Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Cletis Graves, and by her brother Sheldon and sister Mildred.

Survivors include her two sons and daughter, Sherman Graves of Dover, Shelby Graves and daughter-in-law Terri Graves of Dardanelle, and her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Aka DeMesa of Hawaii; five grandchildren Brett, Melinda, Tara, Nicole, and Nancy and three great-grand- children.

Beverly Ira "BI" Graves, Jr. age 82, of Delaware died Saturday, December 13, 2003. He was born December 5, 1921 in McNeil, Arkansas to the late Beverly Ira SR and Daisey Lawler Graves. He was a retired accountant, a member of the First Methodist Church in Dardanelle.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alia Lee McDaniel.

Survivors are his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Ramseur Graves; two sons, Stephen Andrew Graves of Washington, North Carolina, Mark Elliott Graves of Dardanelle; a daughter, Cynthia Graves Holliday of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren.

Graves, Cletis Robert

Cletis Robert Graves, age 92 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the Johnson Regional Memorial Hospital in Clarksville. He was born September 9, 1911 in Delaware to the late Robert and Ada Rollans Graves. He retired after twenty-eight years with Wilson and Company of Oklahoma City. He then ranched for a number of years, retired, and moved back to Dardanelle. He was a member, and deacon, for twelve years, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Dardanelle.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Graves; four sisters, Gladys Roulston, Johnnie Graves, Bernice Parks and Margie Powell.

Survivors are his wife of sixty four years, Beatrice Williams Graves; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman and Timara Graves of Russellville, Shelby and Terri Graves of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Aka DeMesa of Honolulu, Hawaii; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Denise Graves, age 81 of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. She was born September 16, 1917 in Camden to the late Clyde and Anna Laura Rogers. She was a graduate of Henderson State College in Arkadelphia with a Masters degree in Literature and was a published author of four books mainly dealing with poetry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle, AR. She and her husband owned a business providing conference and office space and office skills.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Odie S. Graves and several nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

He was a lifelong cattleman and timber man and was a poultry producer for 38 years.

Jr. and Marlene Graves of Delaware, AR; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Kim Graves of Dover, AR, Kay and Chuck New of Dover, AR and Kip and Craig Grimes of Delaware, AR; grandchildren and spouses, J. M. Ill and Nichole Graves of Delaware, Melissa and Steve George of Russellville, Sasha Grimes and Eric Grimes both of Delaware, Kayla, Hannah and Charla New all of Dover, AR; a great granddaughter, Madison Graves of Delaware, AR; one brother, H. C. Graves of Delaware; a sister-in-law, Joyce Graves of Delaware, AR and several nephews and nieces.

Services were November 24 at the Delaware Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Wiley Jones and Rev. Lonnie Guess officiating. John Madison (J. M.) Graves III, was called home by his heavenly Father, March 15, 2010. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle, AR where he gave his life to God. He was eager to learn the teachings of God so he could also help others. J. M. will be remembered by his family and friends for his beautiful smile. He was born April 11, 1976 at Russellville, AR to John Madison Graves Jr. and Marlene Graves. He was the third generation Graves to manage the family poultry farm at Delaware, AR. He graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1994 and attended Arkansas Tech University.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Madison Graves; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth Brown; his cousin and best friend, Seth Miller.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Nichole Graves; his children who were his pride and joy, Madison Nichole Graves and Jacob (Jake) Graves; his parents John Madison Graves Jr. and Marlene Graves of Delaware, AR; paternal grandmother, Maggie Graves of Delaware, AR; one sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Steve George of Russellville, AR; one niece, Kelli George, one nephew, Ryan George of Russellville, AR and his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service was March 19, 2010, at the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle. Burial was in Graves Cemetery in Delaware.
