Evans, Vina O.

Vina O. Evans, age 82, of Mt. Ida, AR passed away Friday, January 12, 2001 in Mt. Ida, AR. She was born November 6, 1918 in Pine Ridge, AR to the late Sam L. Smith and the late Dollie Gillean Smith. She was a member of the Mt. Ida Church of Christ and a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include, two daughters, Oleta L. Keith of Mt. Ida, AR and Judith Gale Hardy of Belleville, AR; two grandchildren and grandson-in-law, Brian E. Keith and Melissa and James Upton all of Mt. Ida, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ivan Smith.

Funeral service was January 15, 2001 at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Sublett officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Hill Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ramey Evans, Jr. Larry Dunnaway, Ernest Upton, Jim Upton and Mike Price. William "Bill" Evans, age 64, of Danville, died Wednesday, March 19, 1986, at his home. He was a native of Havana, a retired Electron Corp employee, and the son of the late Edward and Audie Spivey Evans.

Survivors include one son, James Evans of Derby Kansas, and one grandson, Matther Evans of Derby, Kansas.

William "Bill" Evans, age 64, of Danville, died Wednesday, March 19, 1986, at his home. He was a native of Havana, a retired Electron Corp employee, and the son of the late Edward and Audie Spivey Evans.

Survivors include one son, James Evans of Derby Kansas, and one grandson, Matther Evans of Derby, Kansas.

Evens, Carl H.

Carl H. Evens, 93, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006 in Danville. He was born February 9, 1913, in Avard, Oklahoma, to James H. Evens Laura Belle Faust) Evens. He was an account correspondent.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Gerald Evens and Allen Evens.

He is survived by two nephews, Roland Evans of Garland, Texas, Paul H. Evens of Nixa, Missouri; two nieces, Geraldine Goodin of Kenner, Louisiana and Lillian George of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Evens, Doris Jean

Doris Jean Evens, age 63, a resident of Kingston Community, Yell County, AR died Monday, February 21, 2000 at Arkansas Heart Hospital at Little Rock, AR. She was born July 17, 1936 at Pumkin Bend, AR to Marshall Sr. and Lela Simms Lindsey. She married Paul H. Evens on August 6, 1954 at Jacksonville, AR. She was a homemaker and attended the Plainview United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, three brothers, Marshall "Budge" and Clete Lindsey and Robert Campbell and two sisters, Lois Dean and Glenda Sue Lindsey.

Survivors include, her husband, Paul H. Evens of Kingston Community; four sons, Jimmy Dale Owens of Escondido, CA, Donald Wayne Evens of Wing, AR, Paul William Evens of Plainview, AR and Nathan Christopher Evens of Wing, AR; two daughters, Diana Lynne Reichert of Weimer, TX and Delores Evens White of Victoria, TX; two step-daughters, Elaine Howe of South Beach, OR and Paula DeGraf of Petaluma, CA; 16 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one great grandchild and three step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Kay Hess of Mountain Home, AR, Mona Ward of Marshall, AR and Melanie Martin of Apache Junction, AZ; three brothers, Harland Lindsey of Mesa, AZ, Kenneth Lindsey of Scottsdale, AZ and Victor Lindsey of Fayetteville, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorene Pelt Evens, age 91, a resident of Ola, AR died Friday, March 20, 1998 at Yell County Nursing Home at Ola, AR. She was born on October 22, 1906 at Kingston, AR to James and Cora Irene (Peeler) Pelt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Evens; two brothers, Everette Pelt and Garland Pelt; two sisters, Gladys Breashears and Wilna Mae Dunn.

She is survived by two sons, Roland Evans of Little Rock, AR and Paul Henry Evens of Ola, AR; two daughters, Geraldine Evans Goodin of Keener, LA and Lillian Evens George of Manassas, VA; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. D. Pelt of Plainview, AR and Hoyt Pelt of Las Vegas, NV.

Funeral service was March 23, 1998 at the Plainview United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Stigall. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery at Plainview. Paul H. Evens, 83, of Victoria passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1931 in Plainview, AR to the late James Gerald Evens and Lorene Pelt Evens. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and then went on to earn his degree in electronics and retired from Lucent Technology.

He is survived by his daughters, Delores Evens White of Victoria, TX; Diana Evens Reichert of Victoria, TX; Elaine Howe of South Beach, OR; Paula Evens DeGraf of Petaluma, CA; sons, Paul W. Evens of Plainview, AR, Donald Evens of Lolita, TX; Jimmy Owens of Lolita, TX; sisters, Lillian George, Geraldine Goodin both of Denham Springs, LA; brother, Roland Evens of Garland, TX; twenty grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr.

Evens was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lindsey Evens and his son, Nathan Christopher Evens.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-5 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria, TX. Everett, Toni Raline (Sanders)

Loving and devoted mother, daughter and sister, passed away January 13, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas Texas. She was born in 1960 in Terrell, Texas and was a long time resident of Mesquite. Toni graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1978. She was employed by McCormick & Company as a regional secretary and then as a catagory analyist for the Dallas region. In the last several years she was employed by Tones/Durkee.

She is survived by her sons, Dustin Michael Everett and Clayton Chase Everett of Mesquite; Mother & Dad, Darline and Lynn Sanders; sister, brother in law, and nephew, Lisa, Darren, and Dillon Dodd of Royce City.

Mrs. Dorothy May Ewing, age 79, of Casa died Tuesday, March 12, 1985. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Sidney M. Ewton, age 41, died Sunday in his home in the Neeley community. He was a merchant at Neeley.

F., George, Sr. Upton

George F. Upton Sr., aged 89, of Dardanelle, former editor and owner of the Dardanelle Post-Dispatch for over 50 years, died on Tuesday. Mr. Upton served as mayor of Dardanelle for two years and was on the School Board for 12 years. He was a Methodist, a Mason, a member of the Lions Club and the Yell County Chapter of the Red Cross. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janella Lemoyne Upton; and two sons, Eldridge and Robert Upton, both of Dardanelle.

Facundus, Geneva R. (Tucker)

1927-2001 Geneva R. Facundus of Pearce, died April 13, 2001, in Willcox, at the age of 74. Geneva was born on March 21, 1927 in Hondo, Texas to George and Vallie (Caine) Tucker. She came to the Pearce area two years ago from Green Valley. Geneva was a housewife and a member of the Benson Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was very active and was a Sabbath School class teacher. On April 2, 1946 in Monroe, LA, she married Lee Facundus. She is survived by her husband Lee of Pearce; son Dennis (Paula) Facundus of Russellville, Ark.; and a daughter Carolyn (Rodney) Swain of Milwaukee, Wis.

Also surviving are three sisters; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Private cremation was conducted at Westlawn Crematorium with private burial of the cremains in Green Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Benson Seventh Day Adventist Church, 101 S. Patagonia St., in Benson. Facundus, Lea M.

Lea M. Facundus, Jr., 86, of Danville, AR. passed away peacefully on December 26, 2013 at the Paris Health & Rehabilitation Center in Paris, AR.

Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on February 15, 1927 to Lea and Gladys Facundus, he was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years Geneva Tucker Facundus and his granddaughter Lehde Facundus.

Lea is survived by his wife, Modean Facundus of Danville, AR, his children Dennis Facundus of Russellville, AR and Carolyne Swaim of Milwaukee, WI, five grandchildren Matthew Facundus of Russellville, AR, Tammy Grimshaw of Fayetteville, AR, Rebecca Busch-Hebert of Wake Forest, NC, Melida Busch of Cincinnati, OH, and Reynolds Bush of Rosharon, TX; five great-grandchildren Jaclyn Bly of Birta, AR, Rudi Perez of Houston, TX, Isabella Busch of Cincinnati, OH, and Eliana and Isaiah Busch-Hebert of Wake Forest, NC and two great-great- granddaughters. Lea was known best for his witticisms. He was happiest entertaining friends and family with stories and jokes, and his quick quips and puns were legendary. In his spare time he loved to tinker and build and after he retired from John Brown University in Siloam Spring, AR. Lea spent many happy hours remodeling homes anil refurbishing vintage sport cars. He firmly believed that every house needed a sun room and back porch and built innumerable versions across the county over the years, routinely adding them to every home he occupied. He was especially proud of his final car project a 1986 Alfa Romeo that he restored with the help of a friend. The car is now cherished by his daughter. In accordance with Leas wishes, no services will be held. His remains will be cremated and his ashes buried near Tucson, AZ alongside those of his deceased wife. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leon Millsap Senior Activity Center, Danville, AR where he and his beloved wife Modean spent many happy hours sharing meals, road trips and card Games with their friends. And in loving memory of Lea, share a joke and laugh out loud.

Facundus, Matthew

Matthew Facundus, 36, of Russellville, died Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was born July 20, 1977, at Danville. He was a graduate of Ola High School and Arkansas Tech University, and was formerly a design engineer for International Highway Sign Company in Little Rock. He had traveled extensively in several countries and had lived in China where he taught English as a second language.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lehde Lea Facundus; and his grandparents, Lea and Geneva Facundus and Joe and Bonnie Storment.

Survivors are his parents, Dennis and Paula Facundus of Russellville.

Edwin Lee Fair, 75, of Belleville died Friday, April 1, in New Veterans Hospital. He was a native of Yell County, son of the late Nathan and Amanda Hamilton Fair. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War 1, a member of the Presbyterian Church and American Legion, and was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillian Boykin Fair; a son, Edwin L. Fair Jr. of Pine Bluff; a sister, Mrs. W. J. Thompson of Carlsbad, N. M. and three grandchildren.

Edwin Lee Fair, Jr. age 73 of Little Rock, AR, a native of Belleville, AR died Saturday, September 26, 1998. He was a retired industrial sales engineer for Arkansas Power and Light Co. an Army Veteran of World War II, a life member of Watson Chapel Lions Cub and a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Majors Fair; a son, Edwin L. Fair III of Springdale; two daughters, Amanda Saar and Polly Ann Baker of Little Rock; and five grandchildren.

Fair, Edwin R. "Buddy"

Edwin R. "Buddy" Fair, 81, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, died April 17, 2006 at Carlsbad Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1924 in Belleville, AR to Rolfe and Mary Fowler Fair. On September 26, 1950, Phyllis Pool became his bride. During the following years, their two daughters, Kay and Susan, became members of the Fair Family. In 1958 the Fairs moved to Carlsbad. Buddy and his wife opened "Fairs Shoes and Fashions" in 1968. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a 55 year member of Christian 394, Free and accepted Masons, in Belleville. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Fair of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Mike Crews of Carefree, AZ, Susan and Kim Merchant of Carlsbad, NM; three grandsons, Ryan Merchant and wife Heidi of Sherman, TX, Nathan Merchant of Dallas, TX and Tyler Merchant of Norman, TX; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Carley Merchant of Sherman, TX.

Lillian Boykin Fair, age 91, of Belleville, AR, died Thursday at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Havana, AR on September 26, 1905, a daughter of the late Jefferson and Sophronia Oates Boykin. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of the Havana Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of E. L. Fair, Sr.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, E. L. Jr. and Polly Majors Fair of Little Rock; a sister, Mary Francis Fitch of Russellville; three grandchildren, Amanda Saar of Little Rock, Edwin L. Fair III of Springdale and Polly Baker of Little Rock and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Susan Fowler Fair, age 70, died on April 20 at the home of her daughter, Betty Gregory, at Ruston, La. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. R. C. Fowler. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Her husband preceded her in death and also one son, Nathan.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Rogers of Central Valley, Calif, and Mrs. Betty Gregory of Ruston, La; one son, Edwin R. Fair, Carlsbad, New Mexico; four brothers, Pearl Fowler of Springdale, Fern Fowler and Lee Fowler of Belleville, and Aubrey Fowler of Ventura, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Barnett of Naps, Calif., Mrs. Reed Morris of Heavener, Okla., and Mrs. Eloise Grace of McAlester, Okla.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Fair, Rolfe

Rolfe Fair of Belleville, son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Nathan E. Fair, was born February 7, 1893 in Belleville died Saturday, September 1, 1951. He was married to Mary Fowler December 7, 1919.

To this union four children were born Nathan E, deceased, Mrs. Lorraine Rogers of Redding, Calif. Edwin R. Fair, Belleville and Mrs. Betty Barlow, Oxnard, Calif. There were four grandchildren. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. W. J. Thompson, Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mrs. M. B. Wilson, Belleville, Mrs. S. H. Williams, Little Rock and one brother Edwin L. Fair, Belleville. He was a lifelong resident of Belleville, a veteran of World War I and had served in Ireland with Naval Aviation.

Faith, Emma Grace (Bailey) (Mrs.)

Woman Killed In Ola Train Wreck - Mrs. Emma Grace Faith, 42, of Beebe was killed instantly at about 10:35 a.m. Sunday when her car was hit by a Rock Island freight train at Ola. State Trooper Richard Powell said that Mrs. Faith was going south on Main Street near the depot during a heavy rainstorm and apparently did not see the train. She was alone in her car and was going to pick up her children and her mother, who had been to Sunday School. E. M. Fowler of Little Rock was engineer of the train, which was going west. Powell said the train had 120 cars and was pulled by six diesels. The woman's body was carried 450 feet down the tracks and the car was still in front of the engine when it came to a stop in about 2100 feet.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Faith Sr.; two sons, Virgil Faith of Springdale and Thomas Faith Jr. of Searcy; a foster son, Mike Faith of Beebe: her mother, Mrs. Sybil Bailey of Ola; a brother, V. Falbo, Linda Lou (Stinnett)

Linda Lou (Stinnett) Falbo, 64, of Dover, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at her home. The daughter of Paul E. and Ona Saleene (Foster) Stinnett, she was born February 2, 1941 in Centerville, Arkansas. She married Richard Falbo, on October 11, 1959 at Las Vegas, Nevada. For the next 46 years, she was a loving, faithful wife and a vital part of her husbands ministry. She was a faithful, dedicated Christian of over 40 years and was a member of the Appleton Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Cumberland Presbyterian Women.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Stinnett; and a brother, Jerry Stinnett.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Richard Falbo of Dover; two daughters, Kelly Lynn Taylor and husband David of Dover; Vonna Jean Marpel and husband Junior of Dover; six grandchildren, Justin and Katie Taylor of Dover; Hannah, Sydney, Leah, and Brittany Marpel of Dover; her mother, Ona Saleene Stinnett of Dardanelle; five sisters, Barbara Riker and husband David of Dardanelle, Joyce Falbo of Roseville, CA, Patsy Rhoton and husband Tom of Lakeland, FL, Leda Rogge and husband Dick of Chapel Hill, NC, and Susan Beckman of Whittier, CA; two brothers, Buddy Stinnett and wife Marlys of Phoenix, AZ, and Bobby Stinnett and wife Jana of Lakeland, FL; a special foster son, Tony Moore of Con way; and a special friend, Mary Johnson of Moreland.

Funeral was January 9, 2006 at Humphrey Chapel with Reverend David Downum and Reverend Fred Goates officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Viva Gail Fall, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, September 10, 2000 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born June 17, 1915 in Chickalah Mountain, Yell County, Arkansas to the late AC and Addie Bogan Hatch. She retired as chief mail clerk for Southern Pacific Railroad.

She is survived by, one son, Robert K. Johnson of Nashville, TN; a grandson, Eric Johnson of Livermore, CA; granddaughter, Brenda Johnson of Austin, TX; a brother, Quentin Hatch of Taft, CA; three sisters, Grace McClure of Dardanelle, AR, Opha Sumner of San Leanaro, CA and Irene Merritt of Paris, AR.

Fallen, Bobby Dale

Bobby Dale Fallen, age 81, of Aplin, Arkansas passed away July 11, 2015. He was born: January 14, 1934, in Houston, Arkansas. He graduated from Perryville High School; he then joined the Marines where he spent four years. While in the Marines, he married his wife JoAnn Growns. After leaving the Marines, he continued his education at Harding University and Arkansas Tech with a Masters in History. Upon graduation he taught and coached at many school districts. He was a Minister for the Church of Christ. During this time, Bobby was a part time Soldier in the National Guard.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn of 55 years, two sons Randy and Donald and a great grandson Hayden Fallen, as well as sisters, Billie Dudley, Barbara Griffith, Betty Hill, and Bonnie Seay.

Survivors include: two sons; Tony and his wife Lori of Hollis and Tommy and his wife Barbara of Hot Springs Village, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Jericho Isiah Fallen, infant son of Michelle Fallen, died Monday, November 19, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville.

Falls, Andrew Nail

The funeral for Andrew Nail Falls, 87, Cross County planter and implement deal who died yesterday in a hospital here, was to be at 4 p.m. today in Wayne Presbyterian Church by Kernodie Funeral Home. Falls was a native of Pottsville (Pope County) and moved to east Arkansas in 1934 and founded the Planters Equipment Co. in Earle. The firm became the Falls Implement Co of Parkin in 1937. He founded the Falls Equipment Co. of Wynne in 1941. He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and Key Institute of Little Rock and formerly worked as a cashier for the Yell County Bank in Danville, the Farmer's Bank of Dardanelle and the Farmer's Bank and Trust Co. in Russellville. He was associated in his business here with his two sons, Erskine Falls and Harold Falls, the present mayor of Wynne. He was active in many civic organizations and was an elder in the Wynne Presbyterian Church.

Other survivors include his widow Mrs. Mary Anne Davis Falls, two daughters, Mrs. John Stinson of Camden and Mrs. H. K Houser of Wynne; a brother, Roy Falls of Russellville and 12 grandchildren. Farguson, John W.

John W. Fargusen, 71, Steve, died Sunday night about 6 p.m., from a self-inflicted pistol shot in his head, Sunday evening about 5 o'clock he had talked cheerfully of farming Monday. About an hour later he went in his room and shot himself, falling across the bed. The body was buried Monday in Shady Grove cemetery. The only survivor seems to be his wife, Mrs. Minnie Farguson. Farley, Roxie Margaret (Peeler)

Funeral services for Roxie Margaret Farley, 92, of Wanette were held March 14, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Wanette with the Rev. Larry Stevenson officiating.

Interment was at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mrs. Farley died March 11, 2007 in Lexington. She was born January 4, 1915 in Danville, Ark., the sixth of 10 children of Robert Marion Peeler and Emma Camilla Hall. She was reared on a farm in Danville, Ark. When she was 15, her family moved to Oklahoma. For a number of years they lived back and forth in Oklahoma City and Wanette. In 1954 she made her home in Wanette premanently and was married to Lloyd William Farley. Mrs. Farley worked for the Oklahoma State Hospital until she retired. While living in Wanette she was an active member of First Baptist Church and taught Vacation Bible School for over 60 years. She was also a member of the O.H.C.E. Club in Wanette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Emma Peeler; four brothers, Ed, Herbert, Lee and Lester Peeler; three sisters, Eletha Wilson, Flora Degn and Mae Bostick; one son, Lloyd Ladell Farley; one daughter, Jorene Marie Farley and one grandson, Timothy Kenneth Farley.

Survivors include one son, Charles Farley and his wife, Ruth, of Wanette; one brother, Kenneth Peeler and his wife, Pat, of Del City; one sister, Clema Farley of Wanette; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Harold Wayne Farmer, Sr., age 74, of Subiaco passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home. He was born August 5, 1938 in Scranton, AR to the late Presley & Emily Sory Farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby Farmer; brothers Lonnie, Dennis and infant twins Johnny Ray & Wilma Gay Farmer.
