Derrick, Lionel

Lionel Derrick, age 82, of Danville died Saturday, August 30 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born September 16, 1931 in Chickalah to the late Jack and Lula Derick. He retired after 28 years from Firestone in Russellville. He was a farmer and a member of the Ranger Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Derrick, brothers, Frances Derrick and a sister, Jacquetta Gaydon.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Faye Biggs Derrick of Danville; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Danny King of Plainview, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Briant "Bruno" and Karen Derrick of Heber Springs; Tony and Sherry Derrick of Danville; daughter-in-law, Dana Derrick of Plummerville. Grandchildren, Heather and David Drilling, Nikki and James O'Bryant, Brett and Samantha Kilgore, Ben and Kayla Derrick, Hunter Derrick, Katelyn Derrick and Wesley Derrick, great-grandchildren, Morgan Dunnam, Kristin Smith, Jack Drilling, Ben Drilling, Chloe Kilgore and Bryce Kilgore; brother, Parnell Derrick of Little Rock; sisters Junella Estes of Stockton, CA; Jackie Lowe of Paris.

Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, September 3 at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Brother Earl Stapleton and Brother Clayton Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Earl Ladd Cemetery. Derrick, Michael Lionel "Mike"

Michael "Mike" Lionel Derrick, age 55, of Plumerville, passed away December 2, 2012. He was born February 22, 1957 in Danville, Arkansas, a son of Lionel Derrick and Faye Biggs Derrick. He worked at Hixon Lumber and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Dana R. Cragar Derrick of Plumerville; daughter, Heather Drilling (David) of Oppelo; parents, Lionel and Faye Derrick of Danville; brothers, Briant Derrick (Karen) of Heber Springs, and Tony Derrick (Sherry) of Danville; sister, Doris King (Danny) of Plainview; grandsons, Ben and Jack Drilling of Oppelo; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, at the Harris Chapel with Rev. Earl Stapleton officiating. Burial will be at Plummerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Derrick, Modene

Modene Derrick, age 82, of Danville, AR died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, AR. She was born January 1, 1924 in Wild Cat Hollow to Jim and Minnie Erie Drewery Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Derrick and four brothers, Junior, Clarence, G. H. and infant J. C. Parsons.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Lloyd Tidwell of Centerville, AR, Karen and Mike Ekstrum of Little Rock, AR and Darlene and Gary Hodges of Atkins, AR; two sisters, Lorene Hansel and Irene Crader both of Missouri; a brother, Gerald Parsons of Ozark, AR; four grandchildren, Tammie Ornsbey, Kelly Hoffman and Derrick and Brandon Hodges; four great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Detrick, Bobby Dean

Bobby Dean Detrick, age 48 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at his home in Dardanelle. He was born February 12, 1955 in Paris, Arkansas to the late Howard Detrick and Hazel Clark Garrison.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Detrick.

Survivors are two sons, Robert Detrick of Sherwood, Brian Detrick of Belleville; a daughter, Katrina Phillips of Memphis; two brothers, Howard Detrick, Jr. of Booneville, Wayne Detrick of Dardanelle and four grandchildren.

Howard Detrick, age 78, of Dardanelle, AR died Tuesday, April 10, at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born September 12, 1922 in Wild Cat Hollow, Yell County, AR, the son of the late Thomas Ray and June Alice Turner Detrick. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Detrick.

Survivors include, three sons, Howard Detrick, Jr. of Booneville, AR and Wayne and Bobby Detrick of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter, Betty Ellis of Russellville, AR; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Detrick, Janet

Janet Detrick, age 44, of Russellville, AR died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at her home. She was born July 22, 1956 in Russellville, AR a daughter of Rolen and Dortha Mae Womack Detrick. She was an employee of Arkansas Tech University for 22 years and a member and former Sunday School teacher at Robinson Point Church at Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dolen Detrick.

Survivors, other than her parents, include a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Billie Detrick of Russellville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, China Ann and Ron Mortensen of London, AR and Susie and Buddy Bright of Russellville, AR; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was March 16 at Shinn Chapel with Rev. Bob Branch officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park by Shinn Funeral Service. Jason Detrick, age 18, of Dardanelle, AR, died Thursday, December 11, 1997. He was a senior at Dardanelle High School. He was born April 18, 1979 in Danville, AR.

Survivors include his father, Bobby Detrick of Dardanelle, AR; mother, Judy Ford of Centerville, AR; two brothers, Brian and Robert Detrick of Dardanelle, AR; one sister, Katrina Phillips of Dardanelle, AR; paternal grandfather, Howard Detrick of Dardanelle, AR; maternal grandmother, Romona Robertson of Tangburn, AR; also included are a host of family and friends.

Detrick, Rolen

Rolen Detrick, age 82, a resident of Russellville, AR died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at his home. He was born June 25, 1924, in Yell County to Joseph Si and Ola Mae Turner Detrick. He was a truck driver and of the Assembly of God faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dolen Detrick; a daughter, Janet Detrick; two brothers, Olen Detrick and Johnny Detrick; and a sister and brother-in-law, Angia Lee and Jack Selby.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha Womack Detrick of Russellville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Billie Detrick of Russellville; two daughters and sons-in-law, China Ann and Ron Mortensen of Russellville and Susie and Buddy Bright of Russellville; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral was held January 26, 2007, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Johnny McCoy officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Beau Aaron Dewitt, age 22 ,of Danville passed away September 20, 2016. He was born March 3,1994, in Clarksville, Arkansas to Doug & Kim Cooksey Dewitt. He loved working on cars, driving his truck and four-wheeler, listening to music, making people laugh and getting ready for the birth of his 1st child, a son.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Cooksey; grandmother, Opal Moran; and Uncle Robert W. Cooksey.

Roy Dickau, age 81, of Dardanelle, died Monday, January 5, 2004 at St. Mary's Reg. Med. Ctr. in Russellville. He was born at Atkinson, Nebraska on June 11, 1922 to the late Henry F. and Delia Waters Dickau. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the VFW Post 2283 in Russellville. He was self-employed in retail sales.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra K. Morgan; one brother, Earl Dickau and one sister, Nellie Fern.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Cox Dickau of Dardanelle; a son, Robert Lee Campbell of Dardanelle; 2 daughters, Pamela Sue Reid and Kathleen Ann Kenedy, both of Dardanelle; 6 grandchildren, Melinda M. Annie Bell Dickens, age 93, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, September 27, 1999 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born April 23, 1906 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Aaron and Jimmie Perry Dickens; she was a member of the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include two sisters, Gladys Richardson and Artense Taylor both of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters-in-law, Oma and Delia Dickens both of Dardanelle, AR; 25 nieces and nephews; 69 great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Dickens, Bobby "Bob" Gene

Bobby "Bob" Gene Dickens, 76, of Atkins, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born in Windham, Texas on October 10, 1934, the son of William Eugene and Iva Star Dickens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Dickens of Atkins; a daughter and son-in- law, Brenda Lee "Dickens" Peterson and husband Scott of Atkins; a son, Bobby Lee Dickens of California; and six grandchildren, John Wesley Dickens, Bobby Dickens, Jr., Amber Dickens, Madison Dickens, Stacy Lynn Dickens Cams, and Angel Peterson Pawley and husband Jared.

Dickens, Delia M.

Delia M. Dickens, 93, of Dardanelle died Friday, February 17, 2006 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. Born October 2, 1912 in Dardanelle, she was the daughter of the late Elton and Nancy Lewis Thompson. She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church for more than 80 years where she was active in the Womens Mission, a club captain and sang in the choir. She retired as a custodian from Arkansas Tech University.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Herman Dickens and Eake Dickens; a daughter, Gladys Dickens; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, Lonnie G. Dickens of Dardanelle; a stepdaughter, Mary L. Williams of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Henry Thompson and Elton Isadore Thompson both of Dardanelle; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral will be held 2:00 p. m. Dickens, Erven Lee "Buddy"

Erven Lee "Buddy" Dickens, age 84 of Blue Mountain went to be with the Lord peacefully at home Monday, February 18th, 2008 after an inspiring battle with heart disease. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He retired from Plumber's and Pipefitter's Union and has over 55 years continuous service. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nellie Onedia "Sis" Dickens.

He is survived by their four sons, Larry Sr. and wife, Laura, Gary, Paul, John and wife Amanda, all of Little Rock area; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Marie Hattabaugh of Mansfield, Faye West and Retha Bowden both of Belleville, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzo Dickens, a grandson, Mike Dickens and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Meriweather; two brothers and two sisters.

DANVILLE - Mrs. Eva Mae Ornsbey Dickens, 39, of Danville died Saturday, July 27. She was a federal inspector for the U. S. Department of Agriculture and was a member of Rover Baptist Church.

Dickens, Larry Alan "Boog", Jr.

Larry Alan "Boog" Dickens, Jr., age 29 of Little Rock, AR, went to be with the Lord at home Wednesday, April 7, 2010. He was a loving husband, son, brother, nephew and uncle. He was a journeyman plumber. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church of Memphis. TN.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E. L. "Buddy" Dickens and Nellie Onedia "Sis" Dickens of Little Rock and his maternal grandfather, Jack Kenward of Pine Bluff.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; his parents, Larry and Laura Dickens; his sister, Amanda Ervin; his niece, Natalie Ervin, all of Little Rock; his maternal grandmother, Joan Kenward of Pine Bluff; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville. Services and interment was Monday at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, Waveland, AR with John McCourt officiating. Dickens, Lonnie G.

DARDANELLE - Lonnie G. Dickens, 78, of Dardanelle died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Atkins Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born November 4, 1934, in Dardanelle to the late Herman and Della Mae Thompson Dickens. He was retired from Contel Communication and was a member of Dardanelle Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Lonnie loved to fish and lending a helping hand to people in the community when they needed it.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his son, Gary Dickens and wife, Claire, of West Covina, Calif.; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Blake and Lawrence Dickens, all of Las Vegas, Nev., Felicia Williams and Johnny Kirk, both of West Covina; great-granddaughter, Kyra Dickens of Las Vegas; one uncle, Isadore Thompson of Dardanelle; one aunt, Gladys Richardson of Dardanelle; cousins, Richard Taylor and wife, Betty, James O. Woods and wife, Cynthia, James Earl Thompson and wife, Regina, Willa Webster and husband, William, Pearl Moore and husband, Jewell, Jane Johnson and Mae Dorothy Thompson, all of Dardanelle; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with the Rev. Marvin Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery in Dardanelle. Visitation will be conducted from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Richard Taylor, James O. Woods, O.J. Woods, Robert Woods, John Freeman, Jamie Young and Jerry Thompson. Lonnie Ray Dickens, age 71, of Centerville died Friday, April 28, 2017, at his home. He was born January 22, 1946, at Waldron to the late Alonzo and Eve Dickens. Lonnie was a mechanic and loved NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva Dickens; one son, Mike Dickens and one sister, Faye Merriweather.

Survivors include his companion, Teresa Jackson of Centerville; one son, Doug Dickens (Georgeanna) of El Dorado; one sister, Sue Robinson (Larry) of Casa; two grandchildren, Sheila Guthrie of El Dorado and Bill Dickens (Jessica) of Mississippi. Lonzo Walter Dickens, age 77, of Plainview, AR died Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at his home in Plainview, AR. He was born in Scott County, AR April 25, 1922 son of the late Walter Eugene and Iva Starr Dickens. He was a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hershel Dickens; two sisters, Julie Dickens and Opal Johnson; a grandson, Mike Dickens and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Meriweather.

Survivors include, his wife, Eva Wagner Dickens; a son, Lonnie Dickens of Centerville, AR; two daughters, Sue Bun of Dardanelle, AR and Fay Meriweather of Plainview, AR; a brother, Bob Dickens of Belleville, AR; a sister, Clarsie Smith of Havana, AR; three grandsons, Doug Dickens of El Dorado, AR, Shawn Loyd of Fayetteville, AR and Jim Bob Meriweather of Plainview, AR; a granddaughter, Rhiannion Ward of Dardanelle, AR and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service was April 15, 2000 at the Plainview First Baptist Church. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Plainview, AR. Dickens, Nellie Onedia (Sis)

Nellie Onedia (Sis) Dickens, 75 of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home Wednesday, October 12, 2005 after an inspiring battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She retired from Pulaski County voter registration, and a long standing member of the President's Club of Avon Products. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Little Rock.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, E.L. (Buddy) Dickens four sons, Larry Sr. and wife Laura, Gary and late wife Nancy, Paul, John and wife Amanda all of Little Rock six grandchildren, Ashley, Larry Jr., Chris, Amanda, Leah and Taylor four brothers, S.J. (Red) Ross, Formosa, Bill Ross, Little Rock, Bob Ross, Kansas City, MO, Dale Ross, Conroe, TX; twelve nieces and nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

Services were Saturday at Moores Chapel, Waveland, Arkansas with John McCourt officiating. Interment was in Moores Chapel Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Oma Lee Dickens, age 91, of Dardanelle, AR died November 13, 2009 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1918 to the late Arthur and Mattie Robinson McNeal. She was a member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Linzy Thompson and Loye Dickens; two children, Otha Lee "Joe" and Tommy Thompson; 3 brothers, and a sister.

Anna M. Dickey, age 86 of Mt. Ida, formerly of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002 in the Montgomery County Nursing Home, Mt. Ida, AR. She was born July 10, 1916 in Michigan to Joseph and Mary Smoluch. She was a homemaker and one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was predeceased by her husband, James I. Dickey and son, Carl David Dickey.

Charles Daniel Dickey, born September 22, 1951, to James I. and Anna M. (Smoluch) Dickey, passed away May 18, 2011 in Wytheville, VA. He was a 1969 graduate from Hot Springs High School and a mechanic.

Charles Richard Dickey, 89, of Mooresville, [North Carolina] passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born on May 30, 1927 in Belleville, AR, to the late Alfred Allie and Clyde Harriet Ann Moudy Dickey. He served 27 years in the US Army traveling to Korea, Japan and Iran, before retiring in Castroville, CA. He was a member of the El Paso, Texas Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Fujiko Dickey; brothers, Raymond, Ray, Ralph, Alfred Randall, Rudy Dickey; sisters, Lamoine Bishop, Letannah Link Bishop.

He is survived by his children, Charles Richard Dickey, Jr. and wife, Gloria Jane of Mooresville, Robert Alfred Dickey of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Lydia Frazier Franklin of Russellville, AR, Lavada Gordon of Torrance, CA; grandchildren, Christopher Richard Dickey, Stephanie Marie McNamara, Elizabeth Ann Sterner, Annette Marie Dickey, Kyle Robert Charles Dickey; great grandchildren, Jayson Bransen McMahan, Jackson Britton McMahan, Kate Somer Sterner and Charles Ryan Dickey.

Owen Lynn Dickey, age 60 of Dardanelle, died Friday, April 25, 2003 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born February 8, 1943 in Broseley, Missouri to the late Claud and Lettie Williams Dickey. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Dardanelle, Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 in Dardanelle, and a Navy Veteran. He was a member of Bright Star Lodge 213 in Dardanelle, Elizabeth Lodge 215 in New Blaine, Western Scottish Rite Bodies, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, past district Deputy Grand Master, Past Grand Tyler, Past Honorary Grand Master of Grand Lodge of Arkansas. He retired after eighteen years as a meter reader for AP&L.

Survivors are his wife of 36 years, Valene Hildrich Dickey; three daughters and sons-in-law, Leanne and Jackie Summit of Russellville, Rebecca and Jon Irons of Hot Springs, Ashley and Will Bowers of Dardanelle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Velta Dickey and Leo and Peggy Dickey all of Popular Bluff, Missouri; two grandchildren, Casey Summitt and Caleb Summitt both of Russellville; two nephews and two nieces.

Services were Monday, April 28, 2003, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Dardanelle with Rev. Pat Baze and Rev. Jarad Higginbotham officiating. Graveside services with military honors by Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 in Dardanelle and Masonic Rites. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. He was born September 26, 1944 at Tucson, Arizona to James I and Anna Smoluch Dickey. He was a former employee of NSC, and St. Michaels School. He was instrumental in the development of the electronic coin counting machine. He was a carpenter. He attended Jefferson Vocational School in Alexandria, VA.

Dickey, Ray Winston

Ray Winston Dickey, age 86, passed away, Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 20, 1922, in Belleville, Arkansas to the late A. A. and Clyde Moudy Dickey. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of Christ, where he was baptized as a young man. He was one of the first students to graduate from Belleville High School in 1940. While attending Belleville High School he was a member of the High School Quartet, along with his brother Raymond Dickey, Doyle and Earl Barrick, where they won 1st Place in the State Quartet Competition. He enlisted in the Navy on January 13th, 1943, where he served in the construction battalion in WWII. He married Evelyn Bernice Link on November 4th, 1945 and started a family. They moved to Lubbock, Texas, in 1948. He and his family joined the Quaker Avenue Church of Christ of Lubbock. He was the co-owner of Dickey-Frazier Mill Works on Erskine Avenue until it was destroyed by a tornado in 1988. They rebuilt as Dickey-Frazier Lumber and began building and remodeling homes. He returned to Belleville, AR, in 1995. He attended the Piney Forks Church of Christ with his brother, Raymond Dickey. He spent his time fishing and visiting at the corner caf with his friends and family. He remained in Bellville until 2007 where he moved to McKinney, Texas, to live with his son.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Evelyn Bernice Link Dickey; four brothers, Raymond, Randall, Ralph, and Rudolph Dickey; a sister, Letannah (Dickey) Link Bishop; a son-in-law, Sammy Beevers; six nephews, Lance Cunningham, John Gregory Link, Kenneth Dickey, Dennis Dickey, Sherman Link and James Butch Watts; two nieces, Tami Link and Jonna Link; and a special granddaughter, Amy Michelle Rae.

He is survived by his five children; Charles Ray Dickey and his wife Joy of Austin, Texas; Shirley Ann Carr and her husband Steve of College Station, Texas; James A. Dickey and his wife Jana of McKinney, Texas; Judy Louise Dickey of Lubbock, Texas; and Rebecca Lynn Beevers of Lubbock, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Cheryl Gilmore, Stephanie Fine, Jennifer Wojcik, Bradley Gose, Joseph Carr, James (Jimbo) Dickey, Amanda Moutous, Clinton Calmes, Laura Brandenburg, Phillip Hollabaugh, Ashley McPherson, Amber Hollabaugh, Shauna Hollabaugh, Aaron Beevers, and Charlie Beevers; 34 great-grandchildren; one brother Richard Dickey of Belleville, AR; three sisters, Lamoine Bishop of Yorba Linda, CA, Lavada Gordom of Torrance, CA, and Lydia Franklin of Russellville, AR.
