Dalton, Howard "Bo"

Howard "Bo" Dalton, age 88, of Fayetteville, AR, formally of Yell County, died Friday, August 8th, 1997. He was a retired welder, member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lura Waters Dalton; one son, Thomas W. Dalton of Fayetteville; two daughters, Martha McAllister of Ft. smith and Marilyn Worden of Tulsa, OK; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Daly, Anna Lou

Anna Lou Daly, age 65 of Dardanelle, died November 20, 2002 at Lake Mead Hospital Las Vegas, Nevada. Born June 23, 1937 in the lower Spring Creek Community near Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Milas and Leta Rogers Hale. She was a housewife and mother, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle, and a member of Bay Ridge Ladies Golf Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carrie Madden, Syble Kirkwood, Lavada Knight, and Melba Clack, and a brother Loy Hale.

Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Jim Daly of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia Kim and Tom Toth of Granbury, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Cathy Daly of Dardanelle, and John and Sherrie Daly of Dardanelle; six grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Toth of Granbury, TX, Shynah and Sierra Daly of Florida, Morgan Daly of Dardanelle, and Austin Daly of Dardanelle; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry Pozarek of Roseville, CA.; a sister, Wanda Coffey of Fair Oaks, CA, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at the Dardanelle Community Center with the Rev. Nancy Covington officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home Dardanelle. Pallbearers were Milas H. Hale, III, Jay Loy Hale, Leon Woods, Lance Adams, Donnie Crabtree, and Mike Pozarek. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Gary Russell. Daman, Lola Stella Williams

DANVILLE - Mrs. Lola Stella Williams Daman, age 74, of Danville died Saturday, November 9, 1985, at Yell County Hospital. She was a native of Waltreak, daughter of Jessie David and Rebecca Payne Williams, widow of Thurman Daman and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Henry David Damon of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Reba Underwood of Springdale, Mrs. Mary Virginia Millard of Minden, La. and Mrs. Rebecca Ruth Millard of Blue Ball; a half-brother, Bennie Williams of Waldron; a half-sister, Mrs. Geneva Kitchens of Conway; a stepbrother, Luther Riddle of Danville; 10 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Clarence B. Damon, 82, of Danville died Wednesday, October 5. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vera Damon; three sons, James Damon of Clarksville, Coy Damon of Hot Springs and Roy Damon of Dardanelle; a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Castle of Hot Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Havner and Mrs. Edna Horn of Danville, and Mrs. Helen Watson of Texas City, Tx. and six grandchildren.

Damon, Edith Louise

Edith Louise Damon, age 76, of Ola died Tuesday at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 8, 1926 in the Pisgah Community in Yell County. She was the daughter of the late Frank & Pearl Huffman Kester. She was a mother, homemaker, and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Damon.

Survivors include sons, Thomas Damon, Billy Damon, and Wayne Damon, all of Ola; daughters, Carolyn Mason of Centerville, Dana Walls of Centerville, Jeanette Scruggs of Ola and Vickie Baskins of Ola; and 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, October 25, 2002, 2:00 p. m. at the Ola Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Burial was in Sandlin Cemetery, Ola, Arkansas by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Gator Lee Damon, age 30, of Russellville died Thursday, July 26, 2007. Born November 17, 1976, in Danville, he was a concrete finisher for Langston Construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Minnie Boyett.

Damon, John Charles

John Charles Damon, age 45 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at UAMS. He was born May 26, 1965 at Pontiac, Michigan to William Charles and Betty Jean Caldwell Damon. He attended the Faith Church in Dardanelle and was an avid Nascar fan.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Damon of Virginia; the love of his life, Kim Simmons; son, Little John of PA; daughter, April Damon of PA; three stepchildren, Andrew, Joey and Amanda Simmons all of Dardanelle; three brothers, Billy and Jimmy Damon both of Michigan and Tommy Damon of Virginia; three sisters, Terry Thomas, Debbie Horn both of North Carolina, Bonnie Coffey of Virginia; the mother of his children, Linda Damon of PA; twelve grandchildren and twenty-seven nieces and nephews.

Damon, Vera Eulula

Mrs. Vera Eulula Damon, age 82, of Perryville, AR formally of Belleville, AR died Monday, February 2, 1998 at Perry County Nursing Center in Perryville. She was born in Blue Mtn. Community, March 14, 1915, daughter of the late Harvey and Etta Ewing Apple. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Qualls and Clarence Damon; two brothers, Herbert Apple and Pat Apple and two sisters, Myrtle Pledger and Girtie Apple.

Survivors include; a brother, Louis Apple of Perryville; two sisters, Naomi Fowler of Ventura, CA, Wilma Lawson Montgomery of Rogers; a sister-in-law, Audrey Apple of Belleville four nieces, Wanna Zella Sessions of No. Miami Beach, FL, Wanda Veil Biscop of Fort Smith, AR, Maunette Konkel of Belleville, AR and Mary Ann Shelton of Ventura, CA also several great nieces and nephews.

Danforth, Kenneth

Kenneth Danforth, Sr., 69 of Dardanelle died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Sparks Regional Medical Center. He was born October 29, 1935 at Oneida, Wisconsin to the late Leander and Evelyn Hill Danforth Sr. He was a member of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin and an Air Force Veteran.

He is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Danforth, Jr. and a brother, Leonder D. Danforth and a grandson, Mitchell Danforth, Jr.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Claude and Margie Danforth, Sr. of Van, TX, Mitchell and Darlene Danforth, Sr. of Dardanelle brother, Delanor Danforth of San Francisco, CA three sisters, Delphine Doxtator, Sandra Cornelius and Arlene Danforth all of Oneida, WI six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Daniel, Ada Emily Aikman

Mrs. Ada Emily Aikman Daniel, age 91, of Dumas, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1983 at her home. She was born and raised in Bluffton. She was the widow of Ben E. Daniel, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Daniel was a member of Daniel Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Edgar E. Daniel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Glen Daniel of North Little Rock and Billy Pat Daniel of Dumas; seven daughters, Mrs. Bernice Chambers, Mrs. Murline Jenkins, Mrs. Mary Sue Carrington, Mrs. Juanita Carter and Mrs. Ada Ruth Curry, all of Pine Bluff, and Mrs. Zerldine Gladden and Mrs. Martha Milligan both of Dumas; 32 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Daniel, Charles Edward

Charles Edward Daniel, age 74, of Hot Springs Village, AR, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008. He was born September 17, 1933, in Bluffton, AR to the late Tom and Viola Daniel. He retired from Navistar after 35 years of service. Preceding he played eight years professional baseball associated with Detroit Timers and closed with the Little Rock Travelers in 1961.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Blackard Daniel; two sons Dr. Robin Daniel and wife Lynn of De Queen, AR; Tad Daniel and wife Jill of Memphis, TN; a daughter, Denise Baker and husband Tim of Memphis, TN; 10 grandchildren Austin, Nathan, Cameron and Keaton Baker, Hunter and Page Daniel, Jessica Daniel Christianson and husband Thor, and Anna, Charlie and Melanie Daniel; and one great-granddaughter, Rita Meg Christianson.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Bro. Burnett King officiating. Interment was in Bluffton Cemetery, Bluffton, AR. Daniel, James R,

Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 31, at the Bluffton at Methodist church 2:00 p. m. for James R, Daniel, whose body has been returned from overseas for burial.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Connell of Conway, assisted by Rev. Tom Kinslow, former pastor of the Bluffton church. Military services will be conducted by the Danville American Legion. James Robert Daniel, better known as Jim Bob, was born at Ola, October 23, 1925. He received his first schooling at Danville where he lived with his family during the years of 1930 and 1933. He finished high school at Fourche Valley High as an honor student of the class of 44.

On June 24th of that year he listed for military training which he received at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Active duty began immediately on arriving in France on December 8th, being placed in the noted 36th Division of the Seventh Army. On December 16th he was entered on the first line and on Christmas Day he went into active duty in the battle of the Belgian Bulge. On March 7 he was wounded in his right hand for which he received the Purple Heart. The next thirty days, including Easter Sunday, April7, he spent in a hospital. He had been re-united with his 141st Inf. only a few days when he was killed in action on April 30th - Just eight days before the fall of Germany - and was awarded the Purple Heart medal posthumously for heroic action in service.

Daniel, T. J.

T. J. Daniel, 90, of Russellville, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Russellville Nursing Center. The son of Tom and Juanita Pullen Daniel, he was born January 22, 1918, in Fort Smith. He was a 1936 graduate of Fourche Valley High School and received a degree from Arkansas Tech. He graduated from the Arkansas Law School in Little Rock in 1941. The day after his graduation, he was drafted into the U. S. Army. He served with the U. S. Army Quartermasters and was attached to a the Fifth Marine Division that fought at Iwo Jima. T. J. was with the second wave of soldiers on Iwo Jima and was a witness to the renowned flag raising at Mt. Suribachi. T. J. 's brother was killed in Germany in July of 1945. While home on leave he married his high school sweetheart, Verna Taylor on July 8, 1945, at her parent's home in Bluffton, Ark. He co-founded and worked with the W. S. Daniel Insurance and Real Estate Agency in Little Rock until 1960. The family moved to Yell County where he operated a local insurance agency in Ola until 1968. He opened and operated a grocery store in Plainview until 1974.

He and Verna then moved to Russellville where he finished his career at Humphrey Funeral Service, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Riggs-Hamilton Post of the American Legion. He was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Board of Stewards at Wesley United Methodist Church in Russellville for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verna Taylor Daniel of Russellville; two sons, Jim Taylor Daniel and wife, Pam, of Keensburg, Colo. and John R. "Bobby" Daniel and wife, Epi Renteria, of Carrollton, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Louise Ellington Daniel of Russellville; two grandchildren, Ann Greenwich and husband, Jeremy, of Nairobi, Kenya, and Dr. Tom N. Daniel and wife, Melissa, of Temple, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Gabe, Caleb and Madelyn Greenwich of Nairobi, Kenya, and Hayden Daniel, Temple, Texas.

Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Blake Bradford will officiate. Full military honors will be provided by the Rogers-Rye Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville. Services are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Thomas Daniel, 74, of Bluffton, a retired farmer, died Tuesday, March 7, 1972. He was a member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church., a Mason and a veteran of World. War I.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Viola Gilmore Daniel; a son, Charles Daniel of Tennessee; a foster daughter, Mrs. Eddie Honey of Gravelly; two half-brothers, Pat Kendrick of Oklahoma ,and Erskie Kendrick of Dumas; two half-sisters, Mrs. Janice Haley of Texas and Mrs. Sadie Thomas of Alabama and four grandchildren.

LITTLE ROCK - Albert Bart Daniels, age 75, of Ola died Monday, October 21, 1985, at Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was the son of the late George A. and Eva Goodson Daniels, retired from the Air Force, veteran of World War II and a member of Ola Church of Christ.

Survivors include two brothers, Ollie J. Daniels of Fort Worth and George Daniels of Dardanelle; a sister, Mrs. Sally Benefield of Ola, and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Aleen F. Daniels, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, April 28, 1997 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle, retired principal of the Dardanelle Elementary School, member of the Delta Zappa Gamma and the Arkansas Retired Teachers. She was born November 2, 1911 near Dardanelle to the late Claude and Lillie Myrtle Campbell Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lee Daniels and husband, George A. Daniels.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Lea Ann Daniels of Dardanelle, AR and Jan Morgan of Glenpool, OK; step grandson, Davis Gateley of Longwood, FL; two great-grandsons, Taylor and Andrew Morgan of Longwood, FL; step great-grandson, Jeff Gateley of Longwood, FL and step-great granddaughter, Karla Gateley of Apopka, FL.

Bobby Lee Daniels, 48, Dardanelle, died Monday, April 10, 1978, at the Dardanelle Hospital. A native of Dardanelle, Daniels was a son of George and Aleen Fulton Daniels. He was employed by International Shoe Company and was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cornelia Taylor Daniels; two daughters, Lee Ann Daniels, Fordyce, and Mrs. January Hundley, Dardanelle; a stepson, Davis Gateley, Orlando, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Daniels, Dardanelle; and two grandchildren.

Cornelia Carrel Daniels, age 85, of Dardanelle died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. She was born August 12, 1930, at the Riverside Community, south of Dardanelle to the late Jeff and Clyde Carrel Taylor. She was a beautician and owned and operated Cornelia's Beauty Den in Dardanelle for many years and was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ, The Dardanelle Rock Chapter Daughters of the Americian Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, Yell County Historical Society, Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Lee Daniels; two daughters, January Morgan and Lee Ann Daniels.

Survivors include her son, Davis Gateley of Dardanelle; four grandchildren, Jeff and Heather Gateley of Dardanelle, Karla and Casey Marks of California, Taylor Morgan of Oklahoma, Andrew Morgan of Texas; two great grandchildren, Teley Marks, Sophie Marks of California and her lifelong best friend, Julia Ann Taylor of Dardanelle.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the Dardanelle Church of Christ with Mr. Mark Auten officiating. Daniels, George

George Daniels, 88, of Dardanelle, died Saturday, July 8, at Baptist Medical Center in Lttle Rock. He was born August 6, 1907, at Birta to the late George Augusta and Eva Goodson Daniels.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lee Daniels. He was a retired bookmobile driver for the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library and a retired farmer. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle.

Daniels, Junious Otto

Junious Otto Daniels, age 79 of Russellville, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. He was born on January 7, 1926 in Bluffton to the late Buford and Velma Etta Williams Daniels. He was a retired Mill-right worker and WWII Army Veteran and a member of Roger-Rye VFW Post 2283 in Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Branch Daniels and a sister, Geraldine McGuire.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bill Chenowith of Russellville.

Daniels, Lee Ann

Lee Ann Daniels passed away the 23rd day of March, 2012 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born 16 August 1951 at St Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Bobby Lee and Cornelia Taylor Daniels. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Fordyce High School as basketball and track coach for 12 years. She continued her teaching career at Russellville High School as biology and science teacher and coach for the Russellville High Swim team for 18 years. She retired in 2005. Lee Ann was very active in sports and her community. As a youth she and her sister, Jan, umpired for little league softball. She was an avid golfer with the Lion's Den and was a long time employee at Bay Ridge Country Club. She was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ, served as Chaplin since 1997 for the Dardanelle Rock Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution as well as the Cameo Club. She served as a committee member for the Russellville High Scholarship Committee. Lee Ann was also a member of the Dardanelle Red Hatters Association. She enjoyed her second career delivering meals on wheels for the Dardanelle Senior Activity Center.

Lee Ann is survived by her mother, Cornelia Taylor Daniels of Dardanelle, a brother, Davis Gateley of Dardanelle, a nephew, Jeff Gateley and his wife, Heather, of Dardanelle, a niece, Karla Gateley Marks and her husband, Casey, a great nephew, Teley Marks and great niece, Sophie all of California, a nephew, Taylor Morgan and nephew, Andrew Morgan and his wife, Valerie, and a brother in law, Jerry Morgan and his wife, Geraldine all of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her sister, January Daniels Morgan, her father, Bobby Lee Daniels, and grandparents, Jeff and Clyde Taylor and George and Aleen Daniels.

Funeral service was March 26, 2012 at the Dardanelle Church of Christ with burial at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Pallbearers are John Phillips, Kevin Taylor, David Berge, Jr., Max Mathis, John Lonon and Josh Witthouse. Serving as honorary pallbearers are the Lion's Den Ladies Golf Association, local educators and Dardanelle Senior Activity Center employees and patrons. Daniels, Linda Kay Katherine Parker

Linda Kay Katherine Parker Daniels, age 55, of Russellville, AR passed from this world Thursday, September 14, 2006 at her home. A daughter of the late Victor Hulen and Nola Elizabeth Conley Parker, she was born May 17, 1951 in Piggott, AR. She was a realtor with Coldwell Banker Ken Stall and Associates, loved interior decorating and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by two brothers William Don Norris and Carol D. Garrison; and a sister, Georgia Darnell.

Survivors include her lifelong friend and companion, Carious E. Guthrie of Russellville; a son, Vick Allen Daniels of Fort Smith; two brothers Paul Gene Garrison of Piggott; and David Garrison of Corning; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Francis and Jess Henson of Plainview; a granddaughter who was the love of her life, Drew Riley Thomason Daniels of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and several nephews and nieces.

The family will conduct a private graveside memorial service at a later date. Local arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service. Mildred June Robinson Daniels, age 79, of Casa died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at her home. She was born January 24, 1935 at Casa to the late Jim O. and Ethel Leona Hill Robinson. She was of the Assembly of God Faith and loved traveling and going to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Daniels; one brother, Leroy Robinson; five sisters, Sybil Woods, Doris Prince, Becky Sims, Mary Sue Smith, Geneva Westlake.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Ellis and husband Lee of Rover; one son, Randy Robinson and wife Robin of Casa; three brothers, O.J. Robinson, Bobby Robinson and Larry Robinson all of Plainview; two sisters, Donna Hickman of Mississippi, Jerry Taylor of Casa; five grandchildren, Tony Ellis, Ronny Ellis both of Rover, Johnny Ellis of casa, Randall Robinson of Morrilton, Marisa Robinson of Greenbrier.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Casa Assembly of God Church with Jackie Townsell officiating. Burial was in Needmore Cemetery. She was born on March 5, 1946 at Heth, AR to John and Clara Belle Roberts Gates. She married Gary W. Daniels on November 2, 1992 at Russellville, AR. She was supervisor with Innovation Industry for 19 years and attended the Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by, one brother, John W. Gates and her parents.

Darr, Martha P.

Mrs. Martha P. Darr of Russellville died Wednesday, April 9, 1986 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Cora Smith Cowger of Chickalah, and the widow of Irl R. Darr, a member of an Atkins pioneer family. She was a registered nurse serving as county health nurse at Hope and Jasper, working at the Army-Navy Hospital at Hot Springs during World War II and at St. Mary's Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Darr was a member of First United Methodist Church, Deaton-Roush Circle of the church, and Order of Eastern Star. She was past matron and grand representative of Arkansas Valley Chapter 606, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Robert Irl Darr of Jonesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Hargis of Russellville, Mrs. Thomas Cotton of Dardanelle, and Mrs. John P. Ward and Mrs. Harry Gremillion of Kansas City, Kan. and a grandson, Robert Edward "Ted" Darr of Russellville.

Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Friday at Shinn Chapel by Dr. D. Max Whitfield and the Rev. Ivan C. Bys. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service. Pallbearers Active: Richard Cowger, Jim Hargis, Len Cotton, Dick Belcher, Larry Hillyard and William A. Rye.
