Hampton, Anna Mae

Anna Mae Hampton, age 63, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at her home. She was born December 6, 1943 in Dardanelle to the late Delton and Tina Mae Hampton.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Woodrow Hampton.

She is survived by four sisters, Dorothy Davidson of Lake Isabella, CA, Wanda Grable of Bakersfield, CA, Ina Brewer of Dardanelle, Freda Justice of Dardanelle; four brothers, L. D. Hampton of Nevada, R. W. Hampton of Shawnee, OK, Robert Hampton of Dardanelle, Phillip Hampton of Dardanelle; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Hampton, Bernice

Mrs. Bernice Hampton, age 69, of Russellville died Wednesday, March 5, 1986 at St. Mary s Hospital. She was born September 15, 1916, daughter of the late Lonnie Pike and Ethel Gatlin Pike at Waveland. She was a retired employee of Sugar Creek Foods Company at Russellville, and a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Hampton, a sister, Edna Pike Dodd of Edmond, Okla. and a nephew, Jimmy Wayne Cotner of Clearwater, Fla.

Funeral was Friday, March 7 at Shinn Funeral Services Chapel. Shirley Craig officiated. Active pallbearers were Stanley Newton, Billy Newton, L. K. Brown, Jim Camarata, Joel Lee Kemp, Craig Wood, Bob Johnson and Tony Elskin. Interment in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville. Hampton, Dana Furr

Funeral service was held last week for Dana Furr Hampton, of Hot Springs, AR, age 25, at the First Assembly of God Church in Hot Springs. Born September 18, 1971, she died June 17, 1997.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hester Furr.

Survivors include one son, Brian David (B.J.) Ballentine, Jr. one daughter, Kristeen King both of Hot Springs; her father, James Furr (Rassie) of Ola; five brothers, David Furr of Mountain Pine, Maxie Don Furr of Oregon, Randy Furr of Ola, Jimmy Smoke of Hot Springs and Rickey Smoke of Bismarck; six sisters, Nancy Via of Ola, Susan Alvey of London, Tommie Reed of Ferndale, Susie Hoffman of Bonnerdale, Carolyn Ellison and Joyce Hearn both of Hot Springs. Hampton, Jewell

Jewell Hampton, 90, of Ola, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. The daughter of Roscoe and Venie Langford Grinder, she was born July 7, 1919 in Danville. She and her family moved to New Mexico where they had a logging business and farmed for many years. She completed cosmetology school and owned and operated her own beauty shop. She later became an instructor at the school. After returning to Arkansas she was employed with Yell County Senior Companion Program and retired as the coordinator. Jewell enjoyed crocheting and vegetable gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Hampton; daughter, Tessie Castleberry; son, Ronnie Hampton; sister, Lorene Potts; brother, Opal Grinder.

Survivors include daughter-in-law, Ila Fay Hampton of Ola; a daughter, Celeste Asbill of Fayetteville, NC; 9 grandchildren, Laura Hoffman, Lynn Hampton, Rex Castleberry, Kerry Castleberry, Greg Castleberry, Margaret Gray, Donna Williams, TJ Gray, Terry Gray; 19 great grandchildren; 7 nieces, Eunice Douthit, Ila Hampton, Ada Heath, Shelby Hite, Ruth Hampton, Glenda Dunn and Marline Bratzel; 2 nephews Johnny Grinder and Jimmy Grinder; a host of cousins, great nieces, nephews and many friends at the Dardanelle Nursing Center

Hampton, Lester "Buddy"

Booneville Editor Dies Of Heart Attack - Lester "Buddy" Hampton, 46, editor of the Booneville Democrat, died Sunday night at his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Hampton was a graduate of the College of the Ozarks and served as Logan County Clerk for six years, 1941-1947, before he became a partner with his father, Max Hampton, in the Booneville newspaper.

Hampton, Ralph, Jr.

Ralph Hampton, Jr. went to be with the Lord October 1, 2009 at his home. He was born on November 9, 1927 in Piggott, Arkansas to Ruth and Ralph Hampton, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Hampton and his first wife, Joan England Hampton.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Sevic Waldron Hampton; two daughters, Joanna Windschitl of Waconia, MN and Angela Hampton of Valley, NE; two granddaughters, Brittany and Cortney Arnold of San Diego, CA; four grandsons, Dawson and Colton Houser of Valley, NE and Jonah and Justin Windcshitl of Waconia, MN; two great-granddaughters; two stepdaughters and their spouses; five stepsons and their spouses; seven step-grandchildren and their spouses; and a sister-in-law.

Hamrick, Sharlie Gayle

Sharlie Gayle Hamrick, age 72, of Danville was born in Puducah, Texas on October 16, 1933 to Buster and Johnnie Mae Cobb. She began her Christian walk in her early teens and recently rededicated her life to the Lord. She was welcomed into her eternal home on October 1, 2006 by her father, Buster Cobb and her two brothers, J. D. and Jake Cobb. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a dietician for Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville for thirty years and did bookkeeping and taxes on the side. The two things she enjoyed the most were cooking and dancing. She was the dance instructor for the Dancing Wanna Bees. Their group performed at many state wide functions.

Left behind for a short season are her husband of forty-three years, Hanson Hamrick, Sr. a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl Frances and Bo Hines of El Paso, AR; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Jodi Hamrick of Danville, Mark and Cecilia Hamrick of Dardanelle, Kent Hamrick of Sheridan, and Hanson, Jr. and Tori Hamrick of Conway; twelve grandchildren with two on the way; her mother, Johnnie Mae Cobb of Carlsbad, NM; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jay Lewis of Carlsbad, NM and Violet Combs of Cuyhoga Falls, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law and their families. The family wishes to thank the many friends who hosted or contributed to the fund raisers held in her honor. We thank the city of Beebe and Crosspoint Ministries. We would also like to thank our home town family at Chambers Memorial Hospital and Mitchell's Nursing Home. There is just no place like home. Thank you for your prayers and acts of kindness.

Sheryl Frances "Fran" Hamrick of Beebe, Arkansas, was born July 9, 1951 and died October 6, 2007. She was born in Renton, Washington and graduated from Belleville High School in 1969.

She is preceded in death by her mother Sharlie Gayle Hamrick; and maternal grandparents Buster and Johnnie Cobb.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle D. Stane; granddaughter Megan and grandson Nick; her adopted son Jerry Hall and his wife Cherie; grandsons Jay and Ayden Hall; granddaughter Rita Hall; her Father, Hanson Hamrick Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Jody Hamrick, Mark and Ceclia Hamrick, Kent Hamrick, Hanson Hamrick Jr. ; eight nephews, six nieces, and fifteen great nieces and nephews.

Ethel C. Hance, age 94, of Danville, AR, formerly of Casa, AR, died Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Clay and Delia Mingle Alexander and the widow of the late Usty Hance. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Robinson and two grandsons, Billy and Randy Hance.

Survivors include three sons, W. C. and Luther Hance both of Casa and George Hance of Ola; four daughters, Bernice Scruggs of Casa, Betty Tanner and Wilma Via both of Ola, AR and Lola Smith of Plainview, AR; a brother, James Alexander of Pottsville, AR; three sisters, Raye Rowe of Shreveport, LA, Cleta Rowe of Lake Village; AR and Nina Dickerson of San Pablo, CA; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 23, 1998 at Ola Church of Christ with Bobby Fallen officiating. Burial was in the Needmore Cemetery, near Casa. Darlene M. Hancock, age 72, of Belleville, AR died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was born May 15, 1929 in Cedar Vale, KS to the late Martin and Maragaret Bruce Jett. She was a retired secretary for the maintenance department at ConAgra Frozen Foods. She attended the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist church in Belleville.

Hancock, Everett O. "Bud"

Everett O. "Bud" Hancock, age 86 of Danville, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born July 29, 1923 in Ranger Community, Arkansas to the late Joe and lla Bailey Hancock. He worked in the hardware, appliance and building supply business for 52 years. He was a member, deacon and retired Sunday School teacher for the Danville First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge #41 for over 50 years, a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master and Past Secretary, which he served over 40 years and past active member of the Danville Lions Club. He served as Danville City Recorder from 1962-1975 and was a recipient of the Estwing Gold Hammer award for 50 years of service to the hardware industry.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Norma Lee Hancock; brother, Gerald Wade Hancock; sisters, Oneita May and Velta Jo Hancock.

Survivors include his wife of 64 1/2 years, Mildred Stroud Hancock; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Jim Douglas of Clarksville; son and daughter-in-law, J. E. "Jim" and Sandy Hancock of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Neal and Kim Douglas of Clarksville, Julie Douglas Currier of Clarksville, Madison Bailey and Bentley James Hancock of Hot Springs; great-grandchildren, Alex and Elizabeth Currier of Clarksville, MaKenzie and Morgan Douglas of Clarksville; brother, Richard Hancock of Belleville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and A. Hancock, Velta Jo

Velta Jo Hancock, age 73, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Danville, AR, passed from this life Saturday, June 16th, 2007, at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, AR. She was born October 28, 1933 in the Ranger Community; she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Ila Bailey Hancock. She was a dental assistant, secretary, bookkeeper and later was a caregiver until her death. She graduated from Danville High School and was a member of the Ranger Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Oneita Hancock May and Norma Lee Hancock and a brother, Gerald W Hancock.

She is survived by two brothers and sister-in-law, E. O. "Bud" and Mildred Hancock and James Richard "Dick" Hancock all of Danville, AR; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Hancock) and A. D. Morris of Danville, AR. Also surviving are special nieces and nephews, Vicki Morris Johnston of Maumelle, Danita Morris Ormand of Benton, Pat May Pyle of Danville, Ralph May of Weatherford, OK, Jerry Wayne Hancock of Danville, Mary Lou Hancock Douglas of Russellville, James Hancock of Hot Springs, AR, Sandra Thompson of Russellville and Debbie Wilbanks of Dallas, TX; several cousins and many friends.

Alice Marie Haney, age 57 of Ola, AR. died Friday, April 24, 1998 at her daughter's home in Centerville, AR. She was born August 28, 1940 in Haney Hollow, Yell County, AR to the late Cleatus and Lillie Mae Stinnett Haney and was a line supervisor for Petit Jean Poultry in Danville, AR.

George Ranzey Haney, age 92, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at his home. He was born January 8, 1912 at Chickalah, the son of the late George Wash and Rosa Lueuellen Douglas Haney. He worked as a coal miner, at a saw mill and retired from the railroad. He attended Mount Zion Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, George Ben Haney; a daughter Rosa Lee Wilson; four brothers, Lossie Haney, Cletus Haney, Duewy Haney and Watt Haney and three sisters, Mattie Adams, Mae Pierson and Hester Hodges.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Johnnie Mae Haney; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy Haney of Paris, J. L. and Benthe Haney of Dardanelle and Lonnie and Karen Haney of Ola; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Georgie and Julian Troy, Elizabeth and Danny Tarkington, Hilda and Nelson Passmore and Lee Ellena and Gary Hicks of Dardanelle, Kitty and James O'Gwynn and Shirley and Ray Croy of Delaware and Donna d Mike Shepard of Plainview; a brother, Pleze Haney of Dardanelle; two sisters, Bessie Stewart of Cabot and Edna Cain of Dardanelle, AR; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Haney, Harold Ray

Harold Ray Haney, Sr. of North Little Rock, AR passed away Sunday, April 6, 1997. He was the son of W. R. and Elsie (Garner) Haney and a former resident of Havana. He was a retired businessman, a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ of North Little Rock and a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Haney; three sons, Harold Ray Haney, Jr. of Cabot, Melvin Glen Haney and Paul D. Haney both of No Little Rock; two daughters, Rachel Smith of No. Little Rock and Cindy Lou Haney of Scott two step sons, Walter B. Jagiello of Jacksonville and Steven M. Jagiello of Harrison; two brothers, Raymond Haney of California and LeRoy Haney of North Little Rock; three sisters, Letha Wood and Dorothy Lakey both of England, AR and Doris Murphy of No Little Rock and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel and his first wife, Clara.

Haney, Hilda Mae

Hilda Mae Haney, age 75, of Dardanelle died Monday, September 17, 2007 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born May 19, 1932 at Cane Creek, AR to the late Arthur Grant and Susie Malinda Campbell Underwood. She worked almost 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, Dardanelle Nursing Center, Home Health in Yell County and Young Homes.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Pleaze H. Haney and a brother, Leon Underwood.

Survivors include two daughters, Stella Holcomb of Dardanelle, Susie Cowley of New Blaine; two brothers, Truman Underwood of Delaware, Dean Underwood of Scottsville; sister, Nellie Wurst Garman of Delaware; four grandchildren, Richard Tucker, Cynthia Tucker, Johnny Steese and Dillon Scott Cowley; numerous other family and friends.

Memorial Services were held Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 10:00 a. m. Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Bro. Wiley Jones officiating. Haney, James Jay

James Jay Haney, age 39, of Fayetteville, AR died Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1961 at East Lansing, MI, the son of Jefferson H. and Jeanne Irwin Haney. He attended schools in Wyoming and Texas, graduating from Angle ton, TX High School in 1979. He attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1983 with a B. S. degree in history. He was a member of Signa Nu Fraternity. He worked at Arkansas State Bank of Clarksville, AR., he was with Tyson Foods of Springdale for 10 years and served on the Board of Directors of Security Bank and Trust of Miami, Oklahoma. At the time of his death he was an Investment Representative for Edward Jones. He and his family are members of Central United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Promise Keepers.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1988 and a sister-in-law, Pamela Hiatt in 1995.

He is survived by Ginger Ann Braddy Haney, who he married in 1984; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Libbey) Haney, age 14; a son, Christopher Lee Haney, age 10; his mother and step-father, Jeanne I. And Rev. James P. Fleming of Huntsville, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe M. and Elaine Haney of Grand Junction, CO and Dean and Patty Haney of Jackson, WY; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol J. and Patrick Carden of Miami and Mary K. and Harry McCoy all of Miami, OK; his mother-in-law, Jo Ann and Dr. David M. Williams and his father-in-law, Leon Braddy all of Danville, AR; a sister-in-law, Tamara Breland of Fayetteville, AR, also several nieces and nephews.

Service was October 19 at Central United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. J. Anthony Holifield and Rev. J. Wesley Hilliard. Margaret Elizabeth Haney, age 64, of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, August 6, 1998 at her home. She was born November 14, 1933 at Nicut, Oklahoma, to William and Lillie Brown Holiman. She was an employee of Tyson Foods.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Haney, and a brother, Lowell Holiman.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Haney; two daughters, Pat Carnahan of Russellville and; Margaret Ann Gabbard of Loveland, Ohio; five brothers, Elmer Holiman of Lake Village, Billy Holiman of Arizona, Rucker Holiman of Russellville, Wayne Holiman of Magazine and Charles Holiman of West Virginia; a sister, Alice Epperson of Alabama; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Saturday at the Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle by Rev. Charles Bradley. Burial was in the Haney Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle. Mary Elva Haney, age 77, of Anaheim, CA, formerly of Russellville, AR died Thursday, December 21, 2000 in the Anaheim Memorial Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Brothers Ward, born September 29, 1923 at Havana, AR. She was a billing maintenance person for Stanford University and a member of the Oakland Heights Assembly of God Church in Russellville, AR. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Haney and a grandson, Franklin Denney.

Survivors include, a son, Johnny Collins of Centerville, AR; four daughters, Darlene Reynolds of Centerville, AR, Sheila Arthur and Carolyn Murphree both of Russellville, AR and Tammy King of Chino, CA; three brothers, Barney Ward of San Jose, CA, Floyd Ward of Fresno, CA and Ed Ward of Gumlog, AR; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 2, 2001 at Oakland Heights Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jean Findley Jones and Rev. Clinton Reddell officiating. Mary Katherine Haney, age 60 of Dardanelle, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at her home. She was born September 27, 1949 at Russellville to the late Jewell and Sadie Vinson Aston. She was a member of the Russellville Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3928.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, George B. Haney; brothers, Larry and Leon Aston.

Sue Haney, age 66, of Russellville, AR died Sunday November 23, 1997 at St. Mary Regional Medical Center at Russellville. She was born in Yell County Arkansas and was a daughter of the late Lossie Haney Sr. who preceded her in death in 1984.

Haney of Dover, Sam Haney of Dardanelle, Jimmy Murphy and David Murphy both of Russellville; four daughters, Betty Smith, Wanda Murphy and Connie Murphy 41 of Russellville and Lisa Sapp of Dardanelle; her mother, Vokie Haney of Dardanelle; four brothers, Eel Haney, Lossie Haney, Jr. and Glen Haney all of Dardanelle and Erenest Haney of Pope County; four sisters Frieda Mae Morris, Ruth Lane, Viola Beene and Ann Eidson all of Dardanelle; a half sister, Bunnie Haney of Benton; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Junior Haney; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Melinda Wilson of Marianna, Josh Montgomery and Johnny Cline both of Dardanelle and Jeff and Heather Wise of Russellville, AR; three daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Steve Woodard of Dardanelle, AR, Patricia Curtis of Conway, AR and Cindy Woodall of Greenwood, AR; three step children, Rhonda Inman of Dardanelle, Lavoid and Patsy Haney of Laquey, MO, Virginia Twilla of Heavener, OK; two sisters, Fern Hoy of Memphis, TN and Betty Mason of Millington, TN; 24 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
