Duvall, Carroll Lawrence

Carroll Lawrence Duvall, age 58, of Atkins, AR, died Saturday, November 29, 1997. He was born March 24, 1939 in Atkins, AR, a son of Alta Ruth Duvall and the late Foster Duvall. He was a retired salesman.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Decowski of Woodbridge, VA; a son, Shawn Carroll Duvall of Russellville; two grandchildren, Vesta Decowski and Emma Decowski of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, Carl V. Duvall of Mt. George, Danny H. Duvall and David F. Duvall of Atkins and three sisters, Delores Catherine Cates and Susie Kimbrell of Russellville and Ruby Jead Virden of Moreland, AR.

Duvall, James David

James David Duvall, age 41 of Russellville died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home. He was born December 31, 1966 at Frankfurt, Germany to James Monroe and Shirley Westbrook DuVall.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Monroe DuVall.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Hodge of Scottsville; four daughters and a son-in-law, Brandy and Jonathan Johnson, Mary Duvall, Candy Duvall, Emily Duvall, James Lee Duvall, all of Russellville; brothers, Donny Duvall of Scottsville, Michael Duvall of Dardanelle; one grandchild; numerous other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Joe Cemetery in Atkins. Duvall, James M.

James M. DuVall, age 60, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was born December 30, 1944 at Atkins to the late Elmer Newton and Mary Elior DuVall. He retired after 30 years as a USDA Inspector, he was also a Real Estate Investor and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Lee DuVall and a sister, Margie Irwin.

Survivors include his companion, Martha Owens of Dardanelle three sons, James David DuVall of Russellville, Donald DuVall of Hector, Michael DuVall of Dardanelle three brothers, Ernest DuVall of Lamar, David DuVall of Atkins, Phillip DuVall of Russellville five sisters, May Ramirez of AZ, Mabel Wiley of Russellville, Linda Harris of Russellville; nine grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. Charles Sutter-field officiating. Internment was in St. Joe -Cemetery in Atkins. Duvall, Loise Edward

Mr. Loise Edward Duvall, age 88 of Danville, AR formerly of Havana died Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born January 8, 1911 in Havana, AR to the late Charles Wesley and Lavinia Duvall. He was a retired carpenter and attended the Baptist Church.

He is survived by several cousins and friends.

Duvall, Mary Eloise

Mary Eloise Duvall age 78 of Havana died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born on August 19, 1927 in Sardis, Mississippi to the late B. B. and Lucille Wright Gillespie. She worked as an Aide in Home Health Care.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Duvall; a sister, Margie Foster and a brother, Jimmy Gillespie.

Survivors include her two sons, Vince Pitts and Dennis Loyd both of Florence, AL; two daughters, Patricia Kiple of Havana, Barbara Noel of Horn Lake, MS; two brothers, Maurice Gillespie of South Haven, MS, Leroy Gillespie of Kingston, AZ; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Robert "Bob" Duvall, age 69, of Havana, AR died Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at his home. He was born November 29, 1929 in Sayra, OK to Biah and Maggie Weatherall Duvall. He was an electrician and a Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Gillespie Duvall; two sons, Vance Pitts and Denny Pitts of Florence, AL; four daughters, Barbara Gene Noel of South Haven, MS, Patricia Kiple of Havana, Linda Winn of Sacramento, Ca and Donna Faye Duvall of Kentucky; two brothers, Leon Duvall and Gene Duvall of California; two sisters, Evelyn Meek and Lennis Stone of California; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and several nephews nieces.

Michelle Dwyer of Ft. Smith died Tuesday, May 31, 1988 at Ft. Smith. She was a loan officer with the Independence Bank of Piano, TX and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Smith, AR.

Sheila Jane Craft Eagle, age 49, of Belleville, AR died Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at her home. She was born in Paris, AR on June 5, 1951. She was a mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father, Melton Craft and her grandparents, Bessie and Edgar Parks, lifetime residents of Havana and Waveland, AR.

Survivors include her husband, Haydon Eagle; her mother, Jennie Mae Craft of Havana, AR; three sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sheila Gayle Eagle of Havana, AR, Mark Eagle of Paris, AR and Chris Eagle of Belleville, AR; two granddaughters, Robyn and Ashley Eagle both of Havana, AR; a sister, Sondra Cobb of Little Rock, AR and a brother, Eddie Craft of Little Rock, AR.

Eakes, Mary Lou

Mrs. Mary Lou Eakes, age 80, of Dardanelle, died Sunday June 8, 1997 at her home. Mrs. Eakes was born March 19, 1917 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late A. H. and Virginia McKenzie Rutledge. She was a retired insurance underwriter, member of the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle, and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis C. Eakes.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Freddie Young of Dardanelle and Donna and Clyde Little of Russellville; Two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law Brian and Amy Young of Mena and Brent Young of Fayetteville; and three granddaughters and one grandson-in-law Gina Young of Lake Jackson, TX, Laurie and Tom Harris of Fayetteville, and Jessica Little of Fayetteville.

Services were held on Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at 10:00 a. m. at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle, with the Reverend Bob Parsley and the Reverend Milton Cowling. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Pallbearers include Dee McCormick, Tom Harris, and Clyde Little. Ottis C. Eakes age 71, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, August 7, 1986 at Russellville. He was a retired insurance agent, son of the late C. K. and Zora Dailey Eakes and a veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Rutledge Eakes; two daughters, Donna Little of Little Rock and Virginia Young of Dardanelle; one sister, Nellie Mars of Paris; two brothers, Mansfield Eakes and Wilburn Eakes of Atkins; five grandchildren.

Danny Joe "Fats" Earls, age 58, of Booneville, formerly of Havana, died Monday, July 19, 2010 in Booneville. He was born June 21, 1952, in Los Angeles, CA to Hubert Allen "Bill" and Gusta Lorene (James) Earls.

Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Booneville with burial in Havana Cemetery. He enjoyed fishing, mowing lawns, and visiting with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Earls.

Easterling, Roberta Faye Bowen

Roberta Faye Bowen Easterling, age 75 of Booneville, AR was promoted to glory October 11, 2005 in Booneville, AR. She was born July 18, 1930 in Danville, AR. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Booneville. She was a. retired 35 year employee of Welch Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service at Pine Bluff, AR. At the time of her death, she had been employed at Oak Manor Nursing Center for the past 13 years. She was an honor graduate of Danville High School and was very active in all school functions throughout her 12 years there. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and attended many games in Dallas. She was a Devout Christian and a Student of the Bible. She loved Gospel music and sang bass with the Believers since they recognized the group in the past four years. She also was a member and bass singer of the Homeland Harmony Girls quartet in her high-teen years in Yell County, which included a weekly live broadcast on KXRJ Radio in Russellville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Easterling, an infant daughter, her parents, Homer and Wilma (Mills) Bowen, and one brother, Loyd Wayne Bowen.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Carolyn Bowen and Carolyn's sister Wendy Tygart and family by her very special chosen family, Ronnie and Sue Travis whom she loved as her own and several cousins and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, AR, with burial in Earl Ladd Cemetery at Danville, AR, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ronnie Travis, Dale Taylor, Jackie Strickland, Russell "Tuff" Dixon, Mike Tygart, and Edgar Baker. Eaton, Modean A. Sitton

Modean A. Sitton Eaton, age 81, died Sunday, May 16, 1999 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born April 24, 1918 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Thomas J. and Alice Biggers Sitton. Though a native of Yell County, she lived many years in Russellville and worked at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. Eaton and a son, Tommy Eaton.

Survivors are three sons, Rev. Ed Eaton of Minier, IL, Danny Eaton of Shady Point, OK and Jimmy Eaton of Russellville; three daughters, Patsy Langley of Havana, AR, Becky Channel of Russellville and Carolyn Shockley of Appleton; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Service will be Thursday 11 AM at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Yates and Rev. Ray Boyd officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Eckhardt, Kate

Kate Eckhardt was born in Ola, Arkansas to Virgie and James Wilson in 1920. She grew up on the family farm mere, and attended nursing school. Her career in nursing brought her to Oakland, California. There she met Dr. George Eckhardt, a widower, whom she wed in 1956. Kate formally adopted Dr. Eckhardt's two young children, gave up her nursing career, and helped her husband raise them. The love between George and Kate was profoundly deep and grew with every year. When George died in 2001, Kate's heart bore an inconsolable sadness that seemed to consume her over the past four years. In February of this year Kate's daughter and husband brought her to Chico, CA from her home in Brentwood, CA to live near them. She died on May 6, 2005, on her daughter's birthday.

Kate is survived by a sister, Mary Phillips of Florida; and a brother, James Wilson of Benton, AR; an older sister, Pearl, died previously; She adored her nephew John Phillips and his family; She is also survived by her son Carl Eckhardt of Walnut Creek, CA; and her daughter Gloria Morgan of Chico, CA; Kate delighted in her two grandchildren, Seth and Ali, both of Chico, CA; and regarded her son-in-law Phil Morgan as her own. There were days when only Phil could make her smile.

Private funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in Chico, CA. Entombment took place at Oak View Cemetery in Antioch, CA. There she was laid to rest next to her beloved husband George. The family finds solace in the knowledge' that Kate's longing was at last being fulfilled. Arrangements made by Sorenson's Affordable Mortuary. Garland B. Eddy, age 85, of Morrilton, died September 30, 1997. He was born May 4, 1912 in Blackwell, AR to Dr. John D. and Annie Shoptaw Eddy. He was a Morrilton church, civic and business leader. He was the retired salesman 1932-40) and owner of Arkansas Valley Wholesale Grocery Co. 1946-present); a former driver salesman for Colonial Baking Co. 1940-46.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Clara Marie Eddy; one son, Edward Lee Eddy of Morrilton; two daughters, Mary Brown of Searcy and Louise Eddy of Houston, TX; three sisters, Emma Lee Beaty of Morrilton, Lena Hoffman and Eleanor Grabber of Little Rock; four grandsons, Kent and Phil Eddy of Morrilton, Barry Brown of Jacksonville and Tim Brown of Morgan Hill, CA; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Jack Brown of Jacksonville and five great-step-grandchildren.

Eddy, George Elijah

George Elijah Eddy, age 94, of Belleville, AR died Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at his home. He was born in Oak Mountain, Pope County, AR February 20, 1906 to the late George B. and Mary Freeman Eddy. He was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Brett Hendrickson.

Survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Rheba Pettycord Eddy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill Eddy of Oklahoma City, OK and Kenneth and Ann Eddy of Booneville, AR; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lavada Hendrickson of Springfield, MO and Joyce and Joe Cathey of Danville, AR; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral service was held May 11, 2000 at the Danville Church of Christ with John McCourt and Rev. Bobby Walker officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Hector, AR. Eden, Elmer Buel

Elmer Buel Eden, age 89, a resident of Ola, AR, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital at Danville, AR. He was born March 3, 1912 at Rover, AR to Richard and Maude Brasier Eden. He married Ida Lowrey, his wife of 64 years on October 3, 1936 at Gilkey, AR. He was a retired Timber Buyer and worked in the timber business for over 40 years with various companies including International Paper. He enjoyed building outdoor furniture and helped his family by building their homes and also enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. His daughters said, "More than anything else in the world he enjoyed his grandchildren." He enjoyed making a vegetable garden every year and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include, his wife, Ida Eden of Ola, AR; a son, Richard Lee Eden of Mablevale, AR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Don Buford of Ola, AR and Shirley and M. J. Plant of Paron, AR; eight grandchildren, Richie Eden, Missy Reindl, Ray Buford, Mark Buford, Donna King, Rick Plant, Fred Plant and David Plant; 14 great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Roy Eden of Plainview, AR and three sisters, Mary Ray of Danville, AR, Joyce Perry of Gassville, AR and Ruby Moss of Fairfield, CA.

Funeral service was April 6, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Ola, officiated by Rick Balentine. Ida Winifred Eden age 90 of Ola died Sunday at her home in Ola. . She was born March 9, 1914 in Rover to the late Newton and Martha Elizabeth Reeves Lowery. She was a Nurses Aid and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Elmer Buel Eden.

Survivors are one son, Richard Lee Eden of Ola, two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Don Buford of Ola and Shirley and M.J. Plant of Paron, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Services were held February 28, 2005 at Cornwell Chapel, Danville with Rev. Mark King officiating. Internment will be in New Bethel Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Eden, Jane

Jane Eden, age 80, of Plainview, AR went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2004. She was born to Dick and Ethel Fisher on November 29, 1923 at Gilkey, AR. She was married to Roy Eden on October 31, 1942. She retired from the United States Post Office.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Bud, Paul, Allen and Lemuel Fisher and two sisters, Jean Chism and Nancy Fisher.

Survivors include, her husband, Roy Eden of Plainview, AR; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy & Carol Eden of DeQueen, AR and Mike and Pat Eden of Fordyce, AR; six grandchildren, Richard Eden, LeAnn Westlake, Marty Hawkins, Yulanda Morrison, Carla Reddin and Gina Ellis; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Plainview Jesus Name Pentecostal Church with Bro. Stacey Lisenbey officiating. Eden, Rado Anderson

Mrs. Rado Anderson Eden, age 91, at Danville, died Sunday, February 10, at Yell County Hospital in Danville. She was the widow of Richard Landon Eden, daughter of the late Z. Y. and Martha Housley Anderson, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, She was a Methodist.

Survivors include three sons. Elmer Eden of Ola, Roy Eden of Plainview and S. R. Eden of Rover; six daughters, Ora Chagnouvich of San Pedro, CA, Lorene Breashears of Upland, CA, Edna Blevins of Lodi, CA, Mary Ray of Danville, Ruby Moss of Fairfield, CA, and Joyce Perry of Gassville; a brother, Jim Anderson of Rover; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Eden, Richard Lee

Richard Lee Eden, age 65, of Ola, AR died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born March 9, 1942 in Plainview to Elmer and Ida Eden. He retired from A. O. Smith in Little Rock after 37 years of service as an Electrician. He has a great passion for gardening, fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ida Eden.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Amy Eden of Sardis; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Brian Reindl of Fayetteville, AR; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Jo and M. J. Plant of Paron, AR, Beth and Don Buford of Ola, AR; five grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral service was May 1, 2007 at Cornwell Chapel in Danville, AR with Pastor David Downum officiating. Interment was in New Bethel Cemetery at Plainview. Samuel Richard Eden, age 72, of Rover, AR died Friday, January 7, 2000 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born March 30, 1928 to the late Landon and Rado Anderson Eden. He was a veteran of WWII and was U. S. Navy retired.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ora Chagnowich, Lorene Breashears and Edna Blevins and one step-son, Billy Potter, Jr.

He is survived by, his wife, Reta Charmasson Eden of the home; one son, Mike Eden of Danville, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ritchie Tippin of Ola, AR; three stepdaughters, Stacie LeMaster of Plainview, AR, LeNita Denney of New Orleans, LA and Kelly Millwood of London; two brothers, Elmer Eden of Ola, AR and Roy Eden of Plainview, AR; three sisters, Mary E. Ray of Danville, AR, Ruby Moss of Fairfield, CA and Joyce Perry of Gassville, AR; two children; nine step-children and three step-great grandchildren.

Funeral service was Monday at the Rover Baptist Church with burial in the Hunt's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Elvin McDill officiating. Eden, Theresa Sauliner

Mrs. Theresa Sauliner Eden, age 55, of Rover died Friday, October 31, 1986, at the St. Vincents Hospital in Little Rock. She was a native of Rhoade Island, a housewife and mother and the daughter of the late Moses and Margaret Sauliner.

Survivors include her husband Samuel R. Eden, one son Michael D. Eden of Dardanelle, and one daughter Mrs. Gail Tippin of Ola. Three sisters Jean Valderama of Tennessee, Helen Parrish of Virginia, and Margaret Jaworski of Florida and one grandchild.

Edminster, Daniel J.

Daniel J. Edminster, currently of Port Washington, WI, passed away unexpectedly at Columbia St. Marys Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI on Friday evening, July 3, 2009. He was 70 years old. Daniel was born at the family home in New London, WI along with his twin brother David, on December 1, 1938, son of James B. and Wilma C. (nee Bult) Edminster. He received his engineering degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, WI and became an electrical engineer. On November 27, 1958, he was united in marriage with Carol Mae Ludtke at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, WI. The couple raised six children together. Dan had worked with many companies in Wisconsin, such as Briggs & Stratton and Doer Electric, but retired as an executive with General Industrial in Bald Knob, AR in 1999. Dan and Carol had lived in many different states, each time returning to Wisconsin. Most recently they had moved to Arkansas in 1995 and returned back home to Wisconsin after Dans retirement. Although he had always been a bit of a work-a-holic, Dan had enjoyed hunting and bowling when he was younger. An avid golfer, he also was quite a handy-man and enjoyed tinkering. Mostly, he just liked to keep busy. His wife and children always held the top spot in his heart, however, no matter how busy he was. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol, and their six children Debra (William Kratz) Nielsen of Port Washington, Michael (Kimberly) Edminster of Grafton, Margaret (Gary) Dorman of Opp, AL, Lisa (Michael) Lecher of Grafton, William (Julie) Edminster of Appleton and Danyelle (Richard Needham) Edminster of Port Washington. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his sister Janice (Richard) Fritz of New London and his twin brother David (Barbara) Edminster of Havana, AR. Dan is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother James B. Edminster.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, in Port Washington, WI. Father James Ernster will officiate. Helen Taylor Edmondson, age 67 of Rover, started her life in Heaven on April 21, 2010. She was a nurse.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Verna Taylor; son, Ronald Lane; daughter, Peggy Milam; brother, Troy Taylor; sister, Ruby Blackmon; grandsons, John and Beau Milam.

Edmondson, Rogers P. (Dr.)

Dr. Rogers P. Edmondson, 78, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Botkinburg, AR. He was born in Locust Grove, AR, to Leo and Opal Brooks Edmondson on October 4, 1926. A WWII veteran and a 1951 graduate of UAMS, Dr. Edmondson practiced medicine in Huntsville, Springdale and Danville before his retirement in 1987. As a general practitioner, he served his patients faithfully during a time when one's family physician made house calls, delivered babies, performed surgeries, and took care of general health needs. He served as chief of staff at Springdale Memorial Hospital and Yell County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton. A dedicated Christian for more than 50 years, he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and volunteer missionary in AR, as well as in six different countries. He was compelled to share his faith in Christ with others and served on visitation teams through his local church.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lee Croft Edmondson, his parents and a brother, Gleason Edmondson.

He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Myra Hatfield Adams Edmondson, a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Ann Edmondson of Ft. Smith, two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and John Lewis of Benton, Peggy and Mark Tetley of Deerfield Beach, FL, and stepdaughter and husband, Gretchen and Jerry Miller of Arlington, VA, and three grandsons, Jesse and Alan Edmondson and Caleb Lewis; a brother, Charles Edmondson; two sisters, Ionese Franks and Patricia Sullivan.

Anna Charlene Stout Edwards, age 76 of Ft. Smith, died Monday, August 20, 2007, unexpectedly due to a massive stroke. She was born in Briggsville, AR on June 8, 1931, to Charlie Bill and May Tollison Stout. She was a 1951 graduate of Fourche Valley and. a retired waitress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Ellen, and a brother, Jack.

Dan Edwards, 61, of Roland, OK, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005 in Fort Smith. He was owner and operator of Edwards Sheet Metal and Ventilation Inc. for 24 years. He was a collector of antique cars and also was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Reda Edwards of the home; a daughter, Tammy and husband Mike Morehart of Roland; son, Terry and wife Rhonda Edwards of Muldrow; sisters, Wanda Jones of Phoenix, Anita Wilson, Sally Kinkley of Columbus, OH, Alice Lansdale of Groton, CT, Carol Marie Allen of Preston, CT; brothers, Dean Edwards of Van Buren, Robert G. Edwards of Dardanelle, Randy Edwards of Valley City, OH and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on March 2, 2005 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment followed at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
