Carr, Dorothy (Alexander)

Dorothy Dell Carr, age 88 of Danville, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 31, 1923 in Ola, AR to the late Roy and Ellen Holloman Alexander.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Carr; parents; son, Billy Ray and a half-sister, Eura Foster.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Summit of Russellville, Dorothy Walker of Dover, Mary Blood of Danville, Jerrie Carr of Plainview; son, Charles Ray Carr of Long Pine.

Graveside service was held Monday, July 11, 2011 at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola. Pallbearers included Randy Holbrook, Jayson Bailey, David Rolen, Eddie Harper, Bobby Walker and Andy Tanner. Carr, Earlene (Stubbs)

Earlene Stubbs Carr, 67, of Dardanelle passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born March 23, 1945, in Atkins, the daughter of Earl and Lois Capes Stubbs. She loved to cook for family and friends and was always looking forward to the holidays. She was an outstanding seamstress and sewed from a pattern out of newspapers. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all who met her. She was loved unconditionally by all and will be greatly missed. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; special aunt, Carolyn Sue Capes; and grandparents, Monroe and Amanda Lou Capes and Carl and Dora Stubbs.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Carr; son, Jeff and wife Cindy Pratt of Delaware; daughter, Connie Pratt and Joe W. Heflin of Dardanelle; brother, Don and wife Pam Stubbs of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Whitney Heflin Wilkins and husband Mike Wilkins, Cody Wayne Heflin and girlfriend Baylie Rickey, and Joann and husband Jesse Noblett; and special friends, Helen Bewley, Cynthia Woods and many others.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Lemley Chapel with the Revs. David Bishop and David Carpenter officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers are Cody Heflin, Mike Wilkins, Dale Luningham, Ray Carr, Jerry Carr and Tom Bridges. Carr, Evalee "Tillie"

Evalee "Tillie" Carr, age 92 of Eufaula, OK died Monday June 28, 2004 at Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Blue Mountain, Arkansas on September 28, 1911. She was the daughter of the late Thomas David and Clara Cashion Stone. She was the widow of Loren L. "Andy" Carr. A homemaker, and member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include several nephews, and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with John McCourt officiating. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery in Magazine. Carr, Henry

Man Found Dead In Hotel Room - Henry Carr, 51, of Sheridan was found dead in his room at the Danville Hotel early Wednesday morning. He had apparently died of a heart attack early in the night. Carr was a neavy equipment operator for the Reynolds and Williams Construction Co., which is working on the Highway 80 west of Danville. C. S. Batson, foreman for the company, said that Carr was missed at breakfast and he and two other men returned to the hotel to awaken him before going out to the job. Carr was found dead in his bed and Batson called Sheriff Herman McCormick. A coroner's jury returned a verdict of death due to natural causes. Medicine found in Carr's suitcase indicated he had a heart condition. He had transferred here Sunday from a job at Heber Springs and had worked Monday and Tuesday. James Roger Carr, age 78 of Fort Smith, AR died Friday, July 5, 2002 in a local hospital. He was a retired self-employed Poultry farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; three sisters, Orlene Boydston of Van Buren, AR, Sarah Krehbiel of Newton, KS, Wanda Louise Carr of Sedgewick, KS; a brother, Charles "Chock" Carr of Danville, AR; a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Loren Leo "Andy" Carr, age 86, of Ola, AR died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born August 20, 1912 in Grimes, OK to the late J. L. and Effie Owen Carr. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors are his wife, Evalee "Tillie" Stone Carr; one sister, Faye Nelson of California and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Mary Carr, 101, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, November 22, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born June 8, 1894, at Hamilton, Mo., to the late James T. and Elizabeth Harpold Wright. She was a member of the Nazarene Church at Skiatook, Okla.

Survivors include three daughters, Opal Peavler of Dardanelle, Beth Loflin of Herlong, Calif., and Maryann Jamison of Herlong, Calif.; a brother, Wallace H. Wright of Vancouver, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great- grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, at the Pawhuska Cemetery at Pawhuska, Okla., by Hugh Jamison. Grandsons and great-grandsons were pallbearers. Carr, Wanda Louise

Wanda Louise Carr, age 81 of Danville, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab. She was born September 12, 1929 in the Ranger Community to the late Oliver Perry and Imogene Williams Carr. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ in Danville, AR and a retired Nursing Assistant.

She is preceded in death by a son, Glen D. Sullivan, Jr.; four brothers, Andy, Ray, James and John Carr and sisters, Allyene Wilkins, Josephine Tharp, Sarah B. Krehbiel, Amanda Meyers and Orlene Boydston.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Carter of Grand Prairie, TX, Debbie Jo Boyce of Andover, KS; a brother, Charles "Chock" Carr of Danville, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Frances B. Carrington, 70, of Jacksonville, sister of Doris McClure of Rover, died Saturday, June 13.

Survivors also include her husband, Elmer Carrington: a son, a daughter, four other sisters and five grandchildren.

Carrington, Mary Sue (Daniel)

Mary Sue Daniel Carrington, 92, a Longtime Resident of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away on April 19, 2014, after a lengthy illness, at Home with her Family in Rowlett, Texas. She was Born January 01, 1922, in Bluffton, Arkansas (Yell County) to the late Ben E. and Ada Aikman Daniel. Sue was a Member of First Baptist Church of White Hall and a 50 year Member of Union #40 of the Order of Eastern Star. Sue was Employed by Safeway Stores at the age of 21 and worked for them for 25 years before Retiring. After Retiring from Safeway, she worked for White Hall Reality and then Century 21 for 22 years Retiring in 1995. She also worked part time for her late husband Curt at Curt's Auto Parts of White Hall assisting with the Bookkeeping. Sue was always on the go; you would most likely find her Raking Leaves and Tending her Yard. If she wasn't doing that she was Baking Pies and Cakes for her Neighbors and Friends who couldn't get out or had done her a good deed. She also helped care for many of her Family and Friends who were ill or in the Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 52 years, Curtis "Curt" Arthur Carrington; five Brothers, Ben, Tom, Edgar, Luther and Glenn Daniel; and five Sisters, Bernice Chambers, Zeraldine Gladden, Martha Milligan, Murline Jenkins, and Ada Ruth Curry.

Survivors include one Son, Alan Carrington and Trudy of Rowlett, TX; one Daughter, Thomasena Williams and Tommy of Warren; a sister Juanita Carter of Benton; a Brother, Billy Pat Daniel and Gloria of Dumas; four Grandchildren, Scott Williams and Lisa; Jeannie Rook and Tim; all of Warren; Amanda Curtis and Clifford of Tinsman; Justin Carrington of Rowlett, TX; a Nephew, Dale Milligan whom she and her late Husband raised; six Great Grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild; and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Archie Carroll of Russellville died Wednesday, March 21, at St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was a native of Stafford (Yell County), son of the late Abb and Hananah Hackson Carroll, a retired self-employed lumberman and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doyle Mae Jaggers Carroll; four sons, Charles Carroll of Santa Maria, Calif., Jim and Ronnie Carroll of Dardanelle and Roger Carroll of Russellville; two daughters, Kay George of Dardanelle and Patsy Slandridge of Dover; two sisters, Mary Bailey of Nebraska and Mildred Barnett of Dardanelle; a sister-in-law, Vernel Taylor of Ola, 16 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Carroll, Bill Gerald

Bill Gerald Carroll, 60, of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Dardanelle, died on October 23, 2005. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and got his Masters at Peabody Institute in Nashville, TN. He was the Director of Adult Education in the Williamson County School System.

He was preceded in death by his father Millie Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debbie Carroll; one son and daughter-in-law, Kit and Janet Carroll; two grandsons, Alex and Will mother, Jane Moore Carroll of Danville; two brothers, Bob Carroll of Florida and Thomas Carroll of Texas; one sister Janelle Tatum of Danville.

Jane Susan Carroll passed away on March 16, 2012 in Danville, Arkansas at the age of 103 with her family at her side. She was born November 29,1908 to Clifton and Susan Melon Moore of Dardanelle. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and mentor to many and had a strong Christian faith that carried her through bitter losses and great joys during her long life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Millie Carroll of Danville, two sons, Zebran Carroll of the home, and Billy Gerald Carroll of Franklin,TN; 15 brothers and sisters, Clyde Grace, Morris Moore, Cleo Grace,Truly Opal Moore, Perry Moore, Bryan Moore, Dewey Moore, Carrie Lee Cravens, Russell Moore, Lester Moore, Mary Cox, Anderson Moore, Ellen Melon Sellars, Phillip Moore, and Lorene Barnett.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Loyd Carroll of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas Opal Carroll and wife Mary of Corpus Christi, TX, and a daughter, Janelle Carroll Tatum and husband Tom of Danville, AR; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Carroll, Lois Faye (Laymon)

DARDANELLE - Lois Faye Carroll, 70, of Dardanelle slept in the lap of the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, where she passed at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born February 27, 1943, at Dover. Lois was a loving mother, sister, wife and friend. She lived to help others, always there to lend a helping hand and expected nothing in return. To have known Lois was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny Laymon; and three sisters, Shirley Flippo, Jewell Savage and Ellen Beavers. She was surrounded by her loving family and her Lord Jesus Christ at the time of her departure from this world.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Carroll; her son, Marty Carroll of Dardanelle; daughter, Rhonda Harden of Olathe, Kan.; granddaughter, Madison Carroll of Dardanelle; daughter-in-law, Lisa Carroll of Dardanelle; and son-in-law, Rod Harden of Olathe. Mary Ferguson Carroll, age 78 of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 11, 2009. She was born at Bluffton, AR on September 19, 1931 to Lester Bland Ferguson and Dora Charlotte Carpenter Ferguson. She received her BA and Master's degrees from the University of Arkansas and taught school at Little Rock public schools, Pulaski County schools, Texas, Germany, Helena-West-Helena, Holly Grove and Ola. She was a member of Little Rock's First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas A. Carroll; a grandson, Joshua Wayne Evans; and two brothers, Billy Carl Ferguson and S. A. Ferguson.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Carroll Evans and her husband, Stan of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Stacey Catherine Evans and Stephaney Carroll Evans; a sister, Betty F. Oliver and her husband, Robert of North Little Rock; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Renon Koontz.

The funeral service was Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Little Rock's First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Lagrone officiating. Graveside services were at Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, AR. Oma Lee Kellybrew Carroll, age 78 of Dardanelle, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. She was born August 12, 1927 at England, AR to the late Arthur and Pearl Dickens Robinson.

She is preceded in death by two husbands, Iris Kellybrew and Rev. James Carroll; three sons, William, Melvin, and Bruce Kellybrew; three brothers and two sisters, Nelline Kellybrew, John Henderson, Donnell Arnett, Josephine Thompson, and Geneva Thompson. She was a member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church and president of the Sweet Home Baptist Women's Mission.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest of Los Angeles, CA, Howard and Mary of Ft. Smith, Iris of Midland, MI, Charles Ray of Lake Jackson, TX, Kenneth, currently serving in Iraq, Chuck of Russellville, David and Bertha of Russellville daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Charles of Naperville, IL, Queen and Michael of Memphis, TN; daughter-in-law, Neita Joyce; brother, Lloyd Ray Watkins of Dardanelle; twenty-three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was a retired school superintendent. He earned his BS degree in education from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. He completed his MS degree at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy. He was a member of Little Rock's First Baptist Church. His career in education encompassed more than three decades. He began his career as a high school teacher and coach at Elaine, AR, where he advanced to high school principal. During his career, he worked as a principal in the Helena Schools, superintendent of Holly Grove Schools and retired as Superintendent of Ola Schools in Yell County.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ferguson Carroll of Little Rock, AR; one daughter, Mary Carroll and Stan Evans of Little Rock, AR; two granddaughters; three sisters, Virgie and Harold Henderson and Rachel Rogers all of Marvell and Carolyn and Thomas Howell of Bella Vista; one brother William Carroll of Natchez, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at the Bluffton Baptist Church, Bluffton, AR today, Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 2 p. m. with Dr. Don Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Bluffton Cemetery. Thomas Opal Carroll passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. He was born on August 4, 1936, in Dardanelle, to Millie and Jane Carroll. He was a retired military veteran. He retired from CCAD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary T. Carroll; his siblings, Bob Carroll and Janelle (Tommy) Tatum; his children, Elizabeth (Randal) Stivers, Daniel T. Carroll, David K. (Susan) Carroll, Lucy Lopez, Nora (Juan) Beza and Arturo Zasquez; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold H. Carrouth, age 83, of Royal, AR died Saturday, September 29, 2001. He was born on October 5, 1917 at Danville, AR, the son of Arch and Bevie Herring Carrouth. He was a former Danville businessman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Carrouth.

Carrouth, Johnny R.

Johnny R. Carrouth, age 94, one of Yell County's oldest citizens, died at the Yell County Hospital December 12, 1956. He was a retired farmer and was born in Dutch Creek Valley on Oct 15, 1862. He was married in 1882 to Miss Emma Catherine Jordon. To this union were born eight children, three of whom survive. Mrs. Carrouth died in June 1921. In November 1921 he was married to Mrs. Fannie Pence and to this union three children were born, two of whom survive.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Carrouth; one son, Lonnie of Little Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Bettie Thacker and Mrs. Ollie Herring of Danville, Mrs. Ruby Jewel Sikes of Okla. Mr. Mearl Wendell Carrouth, age 66, of Danville, AR died Tuesday, July 27, 1993 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. He was born, October 1, 1926, in Danville, AR to the late Arch A. and Bevie Herring Carrouth. He was a retired Wayne Poultry Employee and a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Mildred Marie Carrouth, age 72, of Danville, died Sunday evening, November 11, 1984 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. Mrs. Beverly Jean Carter, age 35, of Danville, formerly of Briggsville, died Friday, May 14, 1971, in the Yell County Hospital in Danville. Mrs. Carter was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by the Yell County Hospital and a member of the Briggsville Methodist Church and also a member of the Eastern Star.
