Blaylock, Evalee

Evalee Blaylock, age 74 of Danville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born January 10, 1933 in Salyersville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ben J. and Ruth Penix Salyer. She was a mother and homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Edwards, son, Kerry Edwards, and brother, Ramey Salyer.

Survivors include sons, David, Brett, and Tony Edwards all of Florida City, FL; daughter, Vickie Digiacomo of Kissimmee, FL; sisters, Pauline Fritts of Cadiz, KY, Barbara Sue Satalbaum of Vine Grove, KY; brothers, Bill Salyer of Falls of Rough, KY, Chandler Salyer of Lafayette, TN, Glen Salyer of Andalusia, AL, Larry Salyer of Salt Lake City, UT, Mark Salyer of San Jose, CA, Ron Salyer of Zolfo Springs, FL; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Blaylock, Everett "Red" Ervin

Everett "Red" Ervin Blaylock, age 89 of Benton, died March 15, 2008 in Benton. He was born December 29, 1918 to Albert and Maggie (Mixon) Blaylock in Havana, AR. Mr. Blaylock was a welder and an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Agness (Littleton) Blaylock; son, Harold Blaylock and wife, Linda of Tull; daughter, LaVerne Malone and husband, Archie of Benton; brother, Jay Blaylock and wife, Lois of Booneville; sister, Charlene Webb of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held today at 1:00 p. m. at Moore's Chapel in Waveland, AR with Linda and Bobby Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. BOONEVILLE - Hurley Jay Blaylock, 85, of Booneville died Tuesday, August 25, 2009. He was born June 24, 1924, in Yell County. He was a member of Assembly of God in Booneville and worked at Little Rock Water Co. and Simmons Lumber Co. in Booneville.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel Church in Waveland with burial at Moore's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service of Booneville.

Bledsaw, Earnest

Waveland Man Victim of Car Accident - Earnest Bledsaw, 34, of near Waveland was killed Thursday night when a car in which he was riding wrecked near Lake Nimrod. The accident occurred about 11 p. m. on Highway 7 three miles west of the Nimrod Dam. Bledsaw, was thrown from the car and was pinned under it when it overturned. Argus Fisher, driver of the car, and Tony Yancy, another passenger, both of Magazine, escaped injury. Sheriff Ladd, who investigated the accident, said that no charges had been filed.

Funeral services for Ernest Bledsaw were conducted by Rev. Willard Yandell at Moore's Chapel Monday afternoon.

He is survival by his wife, Ruby, and son, Jerry, Cedar Creek West; mother, Mrs. Mary Weldon, Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Jack, Porterville, Calif., George, Missouri and Everett, Cedar Creek West; a sister, Mrs. Maurine Trimms, Benton, Ark.; a half brother, J. Bledsaw, Jerry Lamar

Jerry Lamar Bledsaw, age 66, of Danville died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at his home. He was born November 22, 1945 to the late Earnest and Ruby Capps Bledsaw. He was retired from Entergy and was a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge. He attended the Ascension Life Church in Danville. He loved to fish and camp.

He was preceded in death by one infant grandchild.

Bledsaw, Ola May "Sally" Littleton

Ola May "Sally" Littleton Bledsaw, 92, of Lamar died Saturday, June 17, 2006. Born May 8, 1914, in Blue Mountain, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Albert and Mertle Capps Littleton, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Everett C. Bledsaw; two brothers, Doc Littleton, Red Littleton; half-brother, Elmer Clack; and a sister, Sue Flowers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Violet Bledsaw of Lamar; granddaughter, Angela Bledsaw Swanlund of Magazine; three great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Biggs of Ola.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Western Yell County Church of Christ with Gene Littleton officiating. Interment was at Rock Creek Cemetery near Waveland by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Ruby Marie Bledsaw, age 90 of Havana, AR, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born October 4, 1915 in Havana, the daughter of the late John and Mary Tapp Capps, a retired owner operator of Ruby's Beauty Shop and a retired nurses' aide. She was a member of Ascension Life Christian Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Bledsaw and sisters, Dollie Miller and Gladys Allen.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Evelyn Bledsaw of Danville; grandchildren, Michele and Raymond Hutchison of Havana and Mark Bledsaw of Texas and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Arin and Kaitlyn Hutchison.

Blevins, Edna Eden

Edna Eden Blevins, age 74, a resident of Stockton, CA passed away September 23, 1992. She was born in Dierks, AR but grew up in Rover, AR. She met and married the late Albert G. Blevins and they lived together for 47 years until his death.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Wylene Baunback.

Blevins, John

John Blevins, age 77, of Dardanelle, AR died March 30, 2001. He was the son of Bentley and Lillie Blevins and was a lifelong resident of Dardanelle, AR. His career was devoted to law enforcement in Yell County from 1965, including ten years as Chief of Police in Dardanelle, AR. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII, a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and a member of the VFW. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Housing Authority Board.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann McKenzie of Dardanelle AR and Betti Hamilton of North Little Rock, AR; a son, Johnny Blevins of Hilton Head Island, SC., and his former wife, Sue Blevins of Dardanelle, AR; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Memorial Service will be held today, Wednesday, April 4th at 2 p. m. at the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church. DARDANELLE - Mrs. Lillie Ellen Jones Blevins, age 85, of Dardanelle died Sunday, April 27, 1986 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was the daughter of the late A. L. and Laura Mills Jones, and a member of Dardanelle United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, John B. Blevins of Dardanelle; a sister, Annie Garrett of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Ophelia Abbie Nell Blocker, age 72 of Danville, formerly of Midwest City, OK died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her home. She was born November 10, 1937 to the late Ira and Vada Scruggs Jones.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ella Mae Jones; two infant brothers, William and Sidney Jones; and her former husband, Jesse Blocker.

Ada Mae Blood, age 83 of Dardanelle, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1924 at Hoisington, KS to the late James Edward and Leona Hall Taylor. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville, past member of the Bay Ridge Country Club and a cadet of the United States Army Nursing Corp. at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 46 years, Walter W. Blood Jr.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter W and Elizabeth Blood III of Albuquerque, NM; Taylor Evans and Debra H. Blood of Metairie, LA and one grandson.

Blount, W.T.

W. T. Blount, one of Yell Counties most prominent men, a resident of Fourche Valley since about 1907, died in a hospital in Little Rock, April 14.

Services were held in the Plainview Methodist Church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, by Rev. Virgil Hanks assisted by Rev. J. V. Chandler. Burial was in the New Bethel cemetery. Mr.

Blount is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Norman Blount. A native of Meriweather county, Georgia, he moved to Stephens when four. He was graduated from Hendrix College and taught at Rover when that town was considered to have the best school in Yell County, when J. H. Reynolds, now president of Hendrix College, held a summer institute at Rover. Mr. Blount came to Plainview from the Bank of Ola and was cashier of the Bank of Plainview 15 years, when he resigned because of leakage of the heart, which eventually caused his death. When at Rover, he entered into a partnership with Mr. W. B. Clement and the firm of Clement and Blount was known all over that county. Later Mr. Blount bought in the mercantile firm at Plainview that was started by the late R. T. Compton, father of Sheriff Compton, and Bob Caviness, where later W. B. Clement joined him and that firm became the wonder of the county, doing 5300,000.00 worth of business in a year. Mr. Blount's activities included being Yell County Road Commissioner of District 1; membership in Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge, Methodist Church, partnership with Bill Baldwin in implement business at Russellville, Conway, and Ft. Smith and many other activities. Many good things can be said by this admirer of this great man, but better than anything we know is the declaration reported as said Tuesday, by his almost life time partner, W. B. Clement: "We went thru good times and bad, had the ups and downs of business and never passed a cross word." Blue, Shawn S.

Shawn S. Blue, of North Platte, Nebraska, died February 26, 1997 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born on September 14, 1974 at North Platte, NE to Cecil Edward and Deborah Louise Green Blue. He was a lifelong resident of North Platte where he also attended school. On May 29, 1993 he married Brenda Battershell in North Platte. He was a mechanic at Bud's Repair and most recently employed at Modern Muffler. He enjoyed the Demolition Derby, auto racing and fishing.

DARDANELLE - Alfred Eugene Bly, age 77, of Ola died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born May 24, 1935, at Leach, Okla., to the late Thomas Howard and Jessie Clarice Dempsey Bly. He attended the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ola. He loved to read books, hunt and ride motorcycles and most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, William Franklin Colton Burfield; his parents; three sisters, Patricia Bly, Judy Anne Bly, and Iris Gale Williams; and one brother, Howard Junior Bly.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Bly of Ola; one daughter, Melissa Ann Burfield of Ola; one sister, Leola Rose and husband, Charles, of Centerville; two brothers, D. Bly and wife, Marie, of Birta, Leotis Bly and wife, Pat, of Birta; four grandchildren, Samantha Lewis of Ola, Jordan Nichols of Rover, Dempsey Jacob Dalton Burfield of Ola, Hannah Burfield of Ola; one great-grandson, Aidan Lewis of Ola.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Ola First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John David Keeling officiating. Burial will be in Birta Cemetery. Bly, Judy Anne

Judy Bly, 14, of Ola was killed by a hit-and-run driver at about 8:15 Wednesday night as she and a sister-in-law, Donna Bly, 17, were walking north on Highway 7 about one-half mile north of Ola. State Trooper Charles Brooks and Sheriff Herman McCormick, who investigated, said that the car which hit the girl was going north at a high rate of speed and that the girl's body landed 181 feet from where it was struck by the car. Donna's left hand was hit by the car. Sheriff Herman McConnick said that two men were apprehended at about midnight near Paris. They had been driving a white station wagon which was seen by a woman near the scene of the accident. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Bill Bob Bullock said Thursday morning that the driver of the car was Rev. Stephen Eckart, 37, and that a passenger of the car was Rev. Brendan McGuire. Both are Catholic priests who teach at Subiaco Abbey & Academy. Bullock said information regarding charges would be released later. Coroner Glenn Bailey said that a doctor examined the girl and that she apparently had died instantly. She was the daughter of Mrs. Clarence Bly of Ola and was a student in the Ola School. Thomas Howard Bly, 53, died in his home at Birta Sunday. Mr. Bly was a native of Omaha and the son of Thomas H. and Virginia Rogers Bly. He was a farmer and stockman.

Bly, William Joel "Bill"

William "Bill" Joel Bly, age 68, of Belleville went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on August 28, 2016. He was born January 5, 1948 in Newport, Vermont to the late Edward & Thelma Brainard Bly. He was a Navy Veteran. He loved outdoor activities such as, snow skiing, kayaking, hiking, and swimming. He was an excellent gardener and also loved keeping bees. He was an avid runner with many marathons completed including the Boston Marathon at age 60. But his favorite activities were spending time with his family and watching the New England Patriots. Bill never met a stranger and was loved by all those he met. He was always positive and most caring and generous. He was a faithful man of God with a servant's heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Myra J. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Blythe Coxsey (Carl) of Marshallville, Georgia and Debbie Krueger (Jeryl) of Little Rock; two sons, Jimmy Arnold Blythe, of California and Randy Allen Blythe, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandchildren, Kellie Cox (Matt) and Christy Bush (Andy); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron and Jackson Cox, Mary Blythe and Charley Lynn Bush; sister, Iva Reid, of Collierville, Tennessee; brother, Lee Allen, of Searcy; sisters-in-law, Stella Halsey and Kat Blythe; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Jim Hynds, Chris Vallet and Ted Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Arnold Blythe; her parents; three sisters and her brother. Mary was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and Nana.

Opal Harold Blythe, 79, of Hollis, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. The son of Will and Hattie Jones Blythe, he was born August 15, 1927, in Hollis. He married Vida Marie Moore, on January 6, 1951, in Perryville. He was a retired forester technician with Weyerhaeuser. He was a member and deacon of Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hollis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clevie and Joe Blythe; and two sisters, Julia Martin and Marie Dixon.

Survivors include his wife Vida Blythe of Hollis; daughter, Phyllis Orrell and husband, Doyle, of Hollis; six grandchildren, Russell Orrell and wife, Jill of Monticello, Alisha Ragsdale and husband Chris, of Story, Derrick Orrell and wife, Stephanie, of Ola, Brandon Orrell of Mount Ida, and Brecken and Hunter Stafford of Monticello; a great-grandson, Bryce Ragsdale of Story; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Orrell of Ola; a twin brother, Oval Darrell Blythe of Hollis; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The daughter of Roy and Cora Mae Brown Moore, she was born December 28, 1930 in Aplin, AR. She was a chicken grower for Tyson Industries for over 18 years. She was a member of Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church. Vida was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. She always enjoyed going camping, gardening, working in her flower beds and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Opal Harold Blythe; brother, Herbert Lee Moore; sister, Mattie Mae Moore Barrow. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Phyllis Orrell and husband, Doyle of Hollis; six grandchildren, Russell Orrell of Hollis, Alisha Ragsdale and husband, Chris of Story, Derrick Orrell and wife, Stephanie of Centerville, Brandon Orrell of Carter Cove; great-grandson, Bryce Ragsdale of Story; great- granddaughter, Isabella Orrell of Centerville; sister, Ann Humphrey of Hollis.

Willa Dean Wells Blythe; known as Lady to her friends and family, age 83, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 25th 2009 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. The daughter of Sam and Bertha Jones Wells, she was born July 10, 1925 in Hollis. She was a member of the Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hollis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Henry Wells and Billy Wells.

Survivors include her husband Oval Blythe of Ola, one son Terry L. Blythe; one brother, Homer Wells of Hollis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral was June 29, 2009 at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Scott officiating. Burial was at Nooner Cemetery at Hollis, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
