Abbott, Hattie Jarnagin

Mrs. Hattie Jarnagin Abbott of Everton, Missouri died Monday, October 20, 1980 in a Springfield, Missouri hospital. Mrs. Abbott, age 93, was born and raised on Chickalah Mountain and was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Cordelia Payne Martin.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Leola Garner of Everton, Missouri and Mrs. Lena Cory of Sonora, California; two sons, Willie C. Jarnagin of Richgrove, California and Raymond Abbott of California; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Lane and Mrs. Minnie Lampkins of Danville; one brother, Grady Martin of Bixby, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by one son, Everett Jarnagin and one daughter, Truman Parker Taber. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were Thursday in the Danville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bennie Harmon and under the direction of the Woodlawn South Funeral Home of Springfield, Missouri. Abbott, Patsy Ruth

Patsy Ruth Abbott, age 66, of Rogers died June 18th, 2007. She was born January 8, 1941 in Havana to Silas Dogan and Callie Mae Owens Barnett. She grew up in Danville and was a clerical worker most of her working career.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Abbott of Talihina, OK and Jason Abbott and wife Jamie of Bentonville, one daughter, Shelly Brewer and husband Jack of McAlester, OK, two brothers, Ron Barnett of Rogers and David Barnett and wife Mary of Leavenworth, KS, one sister, Lou Frost of Russellville, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Abernathy, Bellverta

Bellverta Abernathy, age 63 of Oppelo, passed away Friday, January 11, 2008. She was born January 18, 1944 in Reno, Kansas, a daughter of the late Theo Robertson and Loretta Brixey Robertson. She was a cook and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son, Jerrold Abernathy and daughter-in-law Linda of Ola; daughter, Debbie Abernathy of Birta; brother, Dwight Robertson and sister-in-law Barbara of Casa; 3 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bobby J. Hubbard of Casa; one niece and seven nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrna Hubbard.

Funeral services were Monday, January 14, at Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Brixey, and Bro. Mike Arndt officiating. Abernathy, Berniece

Berniece Abernathy, age 93, of Russellville, died Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center. She was a daughter of Oscar Lark and Ella Frances Shull Abernathy and was born June 22, 1911 at Birta. She was formerly a cook at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, was a charter member of the Ola Assembly of God Church and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Odell, Justin, Fred, Harold and O. L. Abernathy.

Survivors include a brother, Olin Abernathy of Sacramento, California; six nephews, Larry, Richard, Charles, Douglas, J. D. Richard Lynn and Ray Abernathy; four nieces Fredia Edmonson, Rhonda Holmes and Carmel Lynn and Terry Lou Abernathy; and a number of grand nephews and grand nieces and great grand nephew and great grand nieces.

Services were Friday, at the Shinn Chapel by Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Neil Edmonson. Burial in the Birta Cemetery. Pallbearers were Floyd Ashpole, Bud Avants, Terrell Bishop, John Ellis, Pat Humphrey and Sam Niemann. Honorary pallbearers were members of We Care Ministry of First Assembly of God Church. Chester Lee Abernathy, age 33, of Russellville, AR. died February 23, 1999. He was an employee of Beacon Tire and attended Pottsville Holiness Church and was licensed Exorted with Bible Standard Assembly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willi Acie Abernathy and a sister, Julia Ann Abernathy.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Roberson Abernathy of Russellville; one son, Justin Michael Abernathy of Russellville, AR; one daughter, Heather Leann Abernathy of Russellville, AR; his mother, Margaret Abernathy Lathrop of Nashville and three sisters, Willie Ann Abernathy of Russellville, Mary Pennington of Locksburg and Linda Hankins of Atkins.

Abernathy, Fred

Fred Abernathy, age 67, died May 9, 1987, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Little Rock. A son of the late Oscar Lark Abernathy and the late Ella Francis Shull Abernathy, he was born August 11, 1919, at Birta, AR. He had worked as an orderly for St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Ola Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Disabled American Veterans, and was a Baptist.

He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Abernathy; one son, J. D. Abernathy; one daughter, Mrs. Fredia Edmonson, of Russellville; three brothers, Odell Abernathy, of Searcy; Opal Lynn Abernathy, of Sacramento, CA. and O. L. Abernathy, of Gait, CA.; one sister, Miss Berniece Abernathy, of Russellville; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Abernathy, Marie Ellison

Mrs. Marie Ellison Abernathy, age 71 of Ola, Arkansas died Monday, August 8, 1988 at the St. Vincent Infirmary Hospital in Little Rock. She was a native of Birta, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John D. and Sarah Crowder Ellison and the widow of the late Virgil Abernathy, a homemaker and a mother.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Abernathy and Nathan Abernathy both of Birta; one daughter, Carolyn Mitchell of Little Rock; one sister, Emma Lou Storment of Ola; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Danville with Elder Luther Riddle officiating. Interment was in Birta Cemetery in Birta. Virgil Abernathy, age 74, of Birta died Saturday, July 26, 1986 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. He was a native of Ola, a retired farmer, and son of the late Jess and Minnie George Abernathy.

Oma Abney, age 95, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, February 14, 2000 at the Stella Manor Nursing Center in Russellville, AR. She was born July 14, 1904 in Centerville, AR to the late Madison Grant and Ellen Branson Underwood. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Abney; two brothers, Milard and Oza Underwood and two sisters, Ethal Garner and Ore Evans.

Survivors are, two brothers, Lonnie Underwood of the Omega Community and Arthur Underwood of Pasadena, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were February 17 at the Mt. George Church of Christ with Bro. Chris George officiating. Burial was at Mt. George Cemetery. Juritta Fowler Acison, age 39, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at Dardanelle Hospital. A daughter of the late Donald Ray Fowler, she was a member of the Dardanelle Band Boosters Club and First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Alizabeth Acison of the home; her mother, Anna Maye Bunting of Dardanelle; three brothers, Robert and Thomas Fowler of Dardanelle and Bradley Fowler of Holt Summit, MO and several aunts, uncles and nieces.

Willene Acker, age 78, went to be with the Lord June 13, 2006 in Catoosa, OK. She was born January 13, 1928 in Plainview, AR, to Jim and Lottie Hall. She was one of 13 children; she was 1 of a set of triplets-. She was a mother and grandmother and a member of the First Baptist Church. She had many friends and was loved by all.

She is survived by four sons, Larry of Benton, AR, Dwane of Nevada, MO, Thomas Charles of Broken Bow, OK and James of Cincinnati, OH; four daughters, Marie of Memphis, TN, Melba of Cincinnati, OH, Carlotta and Dana both of Hot Springs; two brothers, James Hall of Houston, TX and Tom Hall of Danville, AR; four sisters, Carrie Prince of Plainview, AR, Emma Smith of Comfort, TX, Sarah DePriest of Hackett, AR and Ann Spikes of Houston, TX; also included are 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers.

He was born February 11, 1922 in the Riley Community, Yell County, AR to the late William C. and Ola Mae Gibbs Adair. He was a member of the Grace Chapel Nazarene Church in Danville and retired after fifteen years with Arkansas Craft.

He was preceded in death by a son, D. L. Adair; a daughter, Linda Donnelly; four grandchildren, Mark Adair, Larry Donnelly, Jr. Paige and Kimberley Donnelly.

Lyndon L. Adair, age 75 of Magazine died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at his home. He was born September 15, 1932 in Havana, AR to the late Julius and Hazel Baker Adair. He was a 20 years retired Air Force Veteran and a member of AACS Alumni Association.

Adair, Marie

Marie Adair departed this life on April 14, 2004 in California. She was born in Belleville, AR on January 26, 1917, where she met and married Raymond Adair. They were married for 59 years at the time of his death in 1997.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Tom in 1997.

Her Christian faith was a strong indication of her character. She was a devoted, caring mother, a constant advocate and champion for her family. Her impact will be felt for generations to come.

She was a blessed mother of Paul Adair, Peggy Gill and Keith Adair, a cherished grandmother of 10, great grandmother of eight and two great-great grandchildren.

Mark Alan Adair, age 16, of Natural Dam, AR died June 2, 1986 in an automobile accident north of Van Buren. He was a student at Cedarville High School and a member of the basketball and track teams. His parents are former Yell Countains.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Leon Adair of Natural Dam; one brother, Lloyd Adair Jr.; four sisters, Terri Looney of Jonesboro and Stephanie, Erin and Miki Adair, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Allen and Geneva Yandell of Waldron; and his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Mary Adair of Belleville.

Adair, Raymond

Mr. Raymond Adair, age 81, of Antioch, CA departed this life, March 21, 1997 at the Diamond Ridge Convalescence Home in Pittsburg, CA following a long illness. A native of Havana, AR and resident of Antioch, CA for the past 42 years, he grew up and attended schools in Havana, AR and came to Antioch in 1955. He worked as a calciner for Kaiser-Gypsum on Wilbur Avenue in Antioch for 23 years, retiring in 1975. He loved to fish, loved the mountains, trips to Arkansas and placed his faith in God. He was a member of the International Longshoremen and Warehousemen's Union Local No. 6 of Crockett, active in organizing the Union and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie T. Adair of Antioch; three sons, Paul Dean Adair of Havana, AR, Tommy Jack and Raymond Keith Adair both of Antioch, CA; one daughter, Peggy Linda Gill of Antioch; two brothers, Virgil Adair of Danville, AR and Cecil Adair of Belleville, AR; two sisters, Audie VanZandt and Lois demons both of Danville, AR; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kermitt Adair.

Tommy Jack Adair, age 56, passed away Sunday, August 10, 1997 at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA. The native of Havana, AR attended schools in Mountain View before moving to Antioch, CA 41 years ago. He graduated from Antioch High School in 1958. He retired as foreman on August 1. He was employed by C&H Sugar in Crockett for 32 years. He was a member of International Longshoremen's Union Local 6 and attended St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Antioch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to Lake Tahoe and Reno.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Jolene Adair; a sons, Anothony Adair and his wife, LuWana Adair of Antioch, CA; two daughters, Stacy Compton and Peggy Adair both of Antioch, CA; his mother, Marie T. Adair of Antioch; two brothers, Paul Adair of Havana, AR and Keith Adair of Antioch; a sister, Peggy Adair Gill of Antioch; two grandchildren, Anastasia and Christopher both of Antioch.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Adair, in March 1997.

Virgil Damon Adair, age 77, of Havana, AR died Thursday, July 17, 1997 at the V. A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Riley, AR August 20, 1919 son of the late William "Lum" Columbus and Ola Gibbs Adair. He was retired from Wayne Poultry and a retired farmer, a WWII Purple Heart Army Veteran and a member of the Danville Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olline Goodwin Adair and two brothers, Kermit and Raymond Adair.

Survivors include three sons, James Adair of Belleville, Ray Adair of Havana and Damon Adair of Booneville; four daughters, Shirley Schichtl of Conway, Wanda Catlett, Loretta Williams and Kathy Adair all of Danville; a brother, Cecil Adair of Belleville; two sisters, Addie VanZandt and Lois demons both of Danville; 12 grandchildren, Shawn Schichtl of Conway, Amanda and B. J. Adair both of Belleville; Brandi Catlett Doyle, Andrea Williams and Mariah Dorrough all of Danville, Brent Rhoades of Ft. Knox, KY, Jeremy Adair of Havana, Michelle, Christi, Samantha and Dana Adair all of Booneville and four great-grandchildren, Dalton Doyle of Danville, Shawn Douglas Schichtl of Conway and Whitney and Dakota Rhoades both of Havana.

Service was Sunday, July 20th at Moore's Chapel Church with Rev. Hulon Wiser and Rev. Steven King officiating. Interment was in Moore's Chapel Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Mrs. Anna D. Miller Adaire, age 46 of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, December 4, 1997 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was a member of the Slaty Crossing Free Will Baptist Church, housewife and homemaker. She was born March 29, 1911 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Timothy and Polly Edwards Miller.

She is preceded her death by her husband, William Herman Adaire; daughter, Peggy Standridge; grandson, Brian Ray Wells; six brothers, Jesse, Velmon, Tellus, Clyde, Giles and Ivan Miller; two sisters, Irene Smith and Helen Caldwell.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Garland "Jiggs" & Frances Adaire and Gary and Belinda Adaire of Dardanelle; two daughters and son-in-law Corelia & Wallace Ray Wells of Dardanelle and Barbara Jo Brixey of Casa; two brothers, Lester Miller of Bernie, MO and Hugh Miller of Flint, MI; two sisters, Lucille Lockwood of Flint, ml and Alice Mayberry of Dexter, MO; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was December 6 at the Slaty Crossing Free Will Baptist by the Rev. David Downum and Rev, Bobby Chronister. Interment followed in the Brearley Cemetery. Camille Cox Adams, age 78, of Memphis, formerly of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born December 3, 1920 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Dan and Lela Love Howell Cox. She was a homemaker, member of the Whitehaven United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Agenda Club, White Haven United Methodist Church Ladies Circle and Kennedy Book Club.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Cox and her sister, Celeste Thurman.

Surviving are her husband, Jack A. Adams, Sr. a son, Jack A. Adams, Jr. of Memphis; a daughter, Anna Adams Keenan of Russellville, AR; a brother, A. B. Cox of Dardanelle, AR; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Cecil H. Adams, age 87, of Star City, AR died Thursday, May 25, 2000 at Beverly Healthcare at Star City. He was born July 24, 1912 in Lamar County, Texas, a son of the late John Henry and Bessie Goodson Adams. He lived at Gravelly for many years. He was a retired factory worker for Burlington Industries. He was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Little Garnett.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Adams and a grandson.

Survivors include, his wife, Geneva Billingsley Adams of Star City; two sons, Jim Adams and Calvin Cecil Adams both of Star City; two daughters, Carolyn Cox of Harrison and Ruby Epps of Lincoln Washington Co. ); a sister, Pearl Gilbreath of Russellville; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Chesley Adams, Sr. age 55, of Hector, AR died Friday, November 15, 1996 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was a Pentecostal minister and an employee of Wayne Foods. He was the son of the late Chess A. and Mary Brewer Adams.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Adams and a sister, Lucy Armsteadt.

Adams, Kenneth William

Kenneth William Adams, 81, of Dardanelle died Friday at River Valley Medical Center. Born. December 16, 1927, in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the son of the late IO Adams and Ruxie Morgan Adams. He retired after 15 years as controller for the Dardanelle Hospital, was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, and a graduate of Arkansas Tech.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Adams; two brothers, Oliver and Bryan Adams.

Mildred Marie Adams, age 86, of England, AR, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center in Morrilton, AR. She was a homemaker, of the Pentecostal faith and loved quilting, crocheting, sewing and catfish fishing. She was the daughter of the late Jim Marshall and the late Josie Marshall. She is survived by her four daughters; Okla Krisell of Wright, AR, Linda Alderman of England, AR, Rose Mitchell of Cave City, AR, and Betty Massey of Grapevine, AR; three sons; Geroy Martin of Dardanelle, AR, James Eversall of California, and Jerry Adams of Centerville, AR; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Randy Farrell Adams, age 44 of Morrilton, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010. He was born on January 28, 1966 in Morrilton, Arkansas, a son of the late Clyde Carliss Adams and Minnie May Huffman Adams. Randy was a member of the North American Hunting Club, MLB, History Club, and the North American Fishing Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Clyde and brother, Bobby Adams.
