    Hunt, Terri Juanita

    Terri Juanita Hunt, age 46, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Howard County with her husband, Michael and friends Carl and Carolyn Davis. She was born November 30, 1963 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was the owner and operator of Anything Grows Nursery and Greenhouse and she taught art at De Queen and Horatio Schools for seven years. Terri loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

    Terri was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Garrison Henson.

    She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Steven Chandler and one son, Clayton Hunt, all of De Queen; her father, Jesse Henson of Plainview, Arkansas; one sister Renae Humphreys and one brother, Monty Henson, both of Plainview, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Logan and Audrey Chandler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

    Michael and Terri celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary this year. They were not only husband and wife, but best friends. They loved to travel and spend time with their family and friends. They will be greatly missed.

    Janway, Hollis G.

    Hollis G. Janway, 63, of 1703 So. Harrison Street, a retired guard for the Little Rock School District, died Thursday. Mr. Janway was a Methodist and a member of Brady Masonic Lodge and Paron Masonic Lodge.

    Surviving are his widow Mrs. Martha A. Chew Janway; a son Michael W. Janway of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Head and Mrs. Rose Mary Woodrum both of Little Rock; a stepson Harvey Forrester, Jr., of West Plains, Mo.; a stepdaughter Mrs. Lucille Forrester of Little Rock; two brothers, Jess Janway of Carlsbad N.M. and Bonnie Janway of Whitewright, Texas; seven sisters Mrs. Melissa Harris of Benton, Mrs. Orthia McTigrett of Dumas, Mrs. Ola Nichols of Elmirage, Ariz., and Mrs. Zora Callahan of Fresno, Calif., and three grandchildren.

    Jennen, Joseph T., Jr.

    Master Chief (Ret.) Joseph T. Jennen, Jr., age 52 died at home in Dardanelle on June 22, 2010. He was born July 27, 1957 in Pamona, CA to Joseph T. Jennen, Sr. and Jean Jennen.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Jennen; three sons, Edward & Mary Jennen of Lake Elsinore, CA, Joseph T. TTI & Robin Jennen of Baton Rouge, LA and Christopher & Michelle Jennen of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren; two brothers and a sister; and an extended EOD Family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, AR where a service with Military Honors was held June 25, 2010.

    Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, AR.     Pauline King, age 76 of Danville, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at National Park Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born July 7, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Oran and Martha McReynolds Smith. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Ray King and a brother, Lowell Smith.

    Survivors include a son, Donald King of Conway; a daughter, Debbie Filice of Danville; two grandsons, Donald James Weyrick of Downey, CA and Frank Filice of the U. S. Army, Ft. Bragg, NC; brother, Warren Smith of Lake Havasu, AZ; and a sister, Alma Faye Boss of Exeter, CA.

    Vincent E. Lovell, age 51, of Ola, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born September 18, 1958 in San Fernando, CA to the late Victor Howard and Velma Hogan Lovell. He was a Navy Veteran and a machinist.

    Miss Mattie Mills, age 83, of Belleville Rt. I died at her home Friday, June 17. She is a lifelong resident of Yell County.

    Barbara E. Moore, 64, of Danville, AR died June 1, 2010 in Danville, AR. She was born April 3, 1945 in San Diego, CA. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

    Myrtle Parson, age 75 of Ola, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born December 24, 1934 to the late Bill Parson and Vennie Wadsworth Smith in Yell County, AR.

    She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Parson; step-father and mother, John and Vennie Wadsworth Smith; stepbrothers and sisters, Hazel Smith, Floyd Smith, Jay Smith, Grace Polmere, Ozelma Blumhof and Jewell Dickey.

    Survivors include several cousins and her family of 33 years at Yell County Nursing Home.

    Pearce, Margaret Ann

    Margaret Ann Pearce, age 71, longtime Stigler resident died Friday, June 4, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. A native of Poteau she was born April 5, 1939 to Levine and Ethel (Gabbard) Price. She grew up at Greenwood, Arkansas and Stigler where she was educated. She was married and became a mother and devoted her life to raising her family. She made her home in Yell County, Arkansas for many years before returning to Stigler. She was married to Wayne Pearce on June 21, 1989 and made their home together. She was a one time member of New Hope Church. She loved bright colored flowers, adored her family and loved cooking.

    She could make the best chicken & dumplings in the world She is survived by her husband, Wayne Pearce of the home; six children, Retha Brown and husband, Louie of Stigler, Harlen Honeycutt of Stigler, Michael Honeycutt and wife, Gail of Santa Fe, TX, Gena Goff and husband, Larry of Stigler, Anna Mullins and husband, David of Plainview, AR, Jeffrey Highfill and wife, Brenda of Plainview, AR; stepson, Tony Pearce and wife Lisa of Gushing, OK; two brothers. Curtis Price of Enid, Charlie Price of Stigler; one sister, Marcia Bryce of Stigler; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, (with two on the way); three step-grandchildren.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, Levine and Ethel Price; one brother, William Price.

    Funeral service was June 7, 2010 at Stigler First Assembly of God with Reverend Tommie Parker and Eugloist Reverend Leo Guthrie. Burial followed at Anticoch Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.     Price, Lula Dail

    Lula Dail Price, 80, of Rover, went home to be with our Lord on May 28, 2010, at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 18, 1929, the oldest child of the late Ted and Lula Harvey. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Rover Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Argus Price, one brother, Leslie Harvey, and a sister, Edith Chilen.

    She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Treccie Price of Rover; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Michael and Christy Griffin of Ft. Smith, Clark and Rebecca Gustin of Rover; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Troy Griffin of Ft. Smith; two brothers, Al Harvey and Fredrick Harvey of Hot Springs; sister Eulene Buford of Briggsville and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

    Rainey, Glenn E.

    Glenn E. Rainey, age 92 of Knoxville died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was the oldest of 8 children to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Ruth Rainey born in Sikeston, Missouri. He worked in CC's at a young age, went on to the Navy and served in World War II.

    He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold & Jeff Rainey; sisters, Mae Campbell, Ruth Shimmels and Maxine Guist.

    He is survived by his youngest brother, Erwin Rainey of Ola, Charline Schooles of Centerville and Imogene West of Russellville. He and Laura Rainey had 7 children. Fred Rainey preceded him in death and leaves his daughter Betty Spears, James Rainey, Glinda Siber, Linda Akins, Sue Bryan and Robert Rainey; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren.

    Rainey, Marvin Marvel

    Marvin Marvel Rainey, age 75 of Casa, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at UAMS. He was born August 3, 1934 at Casa to the late Oscar O. and Mary Francis Stover Rainey. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casa and he was a mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J. W. and Alton Rainey.

    He is survived by his wife, Loretta Rainey of Casa; two daughters, Sherry Holliman of Casa and Kelli Rainey of Conway; one grandson, Jeremy Rainey and wife Tammy of Casa; one great granddaughter; Hunter Rainey of Casa; one brother, Odell Rainey of Casa and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

    Mildred Eloise Barnett Ramey, age 79, of Danville, AR passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Chambers Hospital. She was born August 12, 1930 in Danville to the late Jesse Lee and Vera Viola May Fowler Bice. She was a member of the Chalybeate Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Loyd Barnett; daughter, Mildred Thomlinson and grandchildren, twins Lori Ann and Bradley Thomlinson and Mark Barnett.

    Survivors include her children and their spouses, Raymond Barnett of Ola, Dickey and Sharon Barnett of Dover, Margaret Barnett of Virginia and Terry and Delaine Barnett of NM; sister Eula Rose; brothers, Loyd, Bill and Rickey Bice; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.     Remphrey, Charles Wilbert, Jr.

    Charles Wilbert Remphrey, Jr., age 57 of Atkins died Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home. He was born November 27, 1952 in Ashiya, Japan to the late Charles Wilbert and Juanita Hanratty Remphrey, Sr. He was a marine and served from May of 1972 to February of 1973 in the Vietnam War.

    He is preceded in death by his parents.

    Virnal Leroy Ridgley, age 83 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his home. He was born September 20, 1926 at Pottsville to the late Edward and Ella Carr Ridgley. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and was a member of the VFW and DAY.

    He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Ridgley; his parents one brother, Carl Ridgley.

D., Jimmy, and Kenny Ridgley all of Sacramento, CA, Robert Ridgley of Pottsville; four daughters, Shirley Bell, Yvonne Johnson and Nevonne Roina all of Sacramento, CA and Caroline Cauley of Dardanelle; three sisters, Carolyn Gadberry, JoAnn Ridgley, both of Dardanelle, Alline Holt of Pottsville; one brother, Ernest Ridgley of Lamar; thirty-four grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

    Alfred E. Rogers, age 73, passed away in his home June 26, after a short illness. He was born in the Liberty community on Huckleberry Mtn. and spent his entire life in Logan and Yell counties. He was a farmer, engaged in beef cattle and the broiler business.

    James "Jim" Edward Sims, age 77, of Plainview, AR died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his home. He was born April 15, 1933 in Finley, TN to the late James Burley & Mary Frances Arnold Sims. He is an Army Korea WWTT Veteran, a member of the Plainview Free Will Baptist Church and Plainview VFW. He was a retired truck driver and was an employee for the Plainview City Park.

    He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca "Vickie" Robinson Sims; son Alex Gavins and brothers Jerry and Lee Sims.

    Blacksmith Dies; Rites at Haskell -- Joseph Jackson Smallwood, 78, retired blacksmith died Monday night at his home in Haskel, Texas of a heart attack. Mr. Smallwood was born Feb. 21, 1803 [sic 1883] in Bluffton, Arkansas, and married Ida Burns on December 13, 1903. The family moved to Haskell in 1920 from Delta County.

    Funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Holden Funeral Chapel here with Jim Pennington, minister of Haskell Church of Church, and Doyle Maynard, minister of the Rule Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery.

    Arlie Otto Stewart, age70, of Belleville Rt. 1 died at the Yell County Hospital Monday, June 27 He was a native of Texas, a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.

    Taylor, Richard William

    Richard William Taylor, age 91 of Merced, California, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at his residence in Merced. Born in Danville, Arkansas, June 11, 1915, he was the son of the late Henry Washington and the late Bessie Elnor (Rupe) Taylor. He was an electrician, employed by the Merced Irrigation District.

    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, West 6th Street between R & S, Merced.     Tucker, Rebecca Jane

    Rebecca Jane Tucker, age 79 of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born August 4, 1930 at Dardanelle to the late Willie Evert "Brownie" and Donie Higgins Wood.

    She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Marc Tucker; two brothers, Ezra and Billy Don Wood.

    Survivors include four sons, Larry Tucker and wife, Ola of Las Vegas, NY Randy Tucker and wife, Pam of Atlanta, GA, Don Tucker and wife, Cindy of Conway, Brent Kim Tucker and wife, Molly of Tampa, FL; one brother, Hobart Wood; one sister, Millie Laswell of IN; seven grandchildren; her companion of many years, Bob Pitts; and many other relatives and friends.

    Vines, Jimmy Jefferson (II)

    Jimmy Jefferson Vines II, 52 of Rover, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born March 21, 1958, in Batesville, AR to Jimmy Jefferson and Ann Elliott Vines. He was a logger.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Vines and stepdaughter, Misty Alvey.

    Survivors include his father, Jimmy Vines, Sr. of Salesville, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy III "Sink" and Jessica Vines of Ola; daughter and son-in-law, Clarann Vines and Randy Bair of Belleville; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Mindy Alvey of Ola, Floyd and Sandra Alvey of Ola; companion in life, Caryn Gillum of Rover; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Jerrie Vines of Rover, Michael Vines of San Diego; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanie and Ted Watson of Oklahoma City, OK, June Vines and Chris Moulds of Houston, AR; special friends, Jason Henry of Briggsville, William Earl Smith of Rover, Jerry Jones of Gravelly, Kenneth Spears of Briggsville and Robert Adams; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Tommy, Catelyn, Cory, Kelsey, Brandy, Emyle, and Trista; and his best four-legged friend, Jancey Cheri Vines, the best cow dog ever.

    Graveside funeral was Monday at New Bethel Cemetery, Kingston with Rev. Will Doughty officiating.     Wiser, Frank D.

    Frank D. Wiser, 77, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home in Clarksville. He was a native of Havana, son of the late Porter and Ratha Rogers Wiser, graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, and the University of Arkansas with a vocation agriculture degree, served in the U. S. Air Force in Alaska, retired from the USDA FmHA as county supervisor, 37-year member of the American Legion.

    He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Madlyn Wiser; and four brothers, James, Hulon, Robert, and Joe Wiser.

    Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Beatrice Trost Wiser; daughter, Cecilia R. Wiser of Fayetteville; son, Grant E. Wiser of Alton, IL; two brothers, Henry Wiser and Roger Lee; three sisters, Ida Hall, Betty Reed and Molly Fish.

    Woodard, Harold Eugene "Gene"

    Harold Eugene "Gene" Woodard, age 84 of Danville, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville. He was born September 4, 1925 in Blue Ball (Yell County), AR to the late Virgil Clifton and Annie Merle Williams Woodard. He was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, a car salesman and farmer and his passion was training and racing thoroughbred horses.

    He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Woodard.

    Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Deloris Mos Lampkin Woodard; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patty Woodard of Danville; step-daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Phillip Shelby of Fayetteville; step-sons, Byron Lampkin of Bluffton, Christopher Lampkin of Fenton, MO, James Black and Johnny Baker of Danville; five step-grandchildren; grandson, Colby and Michelle Woodard of MA; two great grandchildren of MA; sisters and brother-in-law, Maxine Herring of Danville, Merdelle and Howard Cox of Jacksonville, AR; sister-in-law, Hilda Woodard of Danville; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

    Pallbearers were Lee Roy Tharp, Tom Walker, Odean Parker, Jack Lacy, Gary Turner and Gary Roberson. Honorary pallbearers were Boss Mitchell, Bill Brown, Dr. Robert May, members of the Danville Church of Christ, and Mitchell's Nursing Home. Graveside service was Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Earl Ladd Cemetery with Stan Chism officiating.     Young, Walter Russell

    Walter Russell Young, 64, of Waldron, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Mercy Hospital of Scott County, Waldron, AR from metastatic malignant melanoma. He was born January 27, 1946 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Walter Louis and Hazel Taylor Young. He was a member of the Dayton Church of Christ and a 1963 graduate of Covington High School, Covington, Louisiana; graduated in 1967 from LSU, Baton Rouge with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and graduated in 1975 from LSU Medical School, New Orleans with a M. D. degree. He began a private practice in family medicine at Brookhaven, MS in July 1976. He moved to Waldron, AR in 1983 and remained in private practice until March 19, 2010.

    He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; daughter, Christy Long and husband, James of Waldron, AR; three step-sons, Stan Rose of Greenwood, AR, Stuart Rose and wife, Teresa of Greenwood, AR and Steve Rose and wife, Tammie of Waldron, AR; six grandchildren, Zach Rose of Greenwood, AR, Leah and Justin Long of Waldron, AR, Allison Rose of Greenwood, AR and Kaylin and Ashlin Rose of Waldron, AR; a sister, Darlene Palliser and husband, Tommy of Covington, LA; two brothers, Earl Young of Bush, LA and Jim Young and wife, Joan of San Antonio, TX.

    Funeral service was June 18 at the Dayton Church of Christ with burial at Parks Cemetery, Hwy. 28 E., Gravelly, AR under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood, AR. Larry Bridges and Jack Sorrells officiated; song leader was Lowell Ashley. Pallbearers were Chris and David Young, Larry Davis, Dr. Nathan Bennett, Steve Hattabaugh and Terry Plumber.
