The Danville Library Collection includes newspaper obituary clippings that they have been
saving in hardcopy form for use by their library users. This collection includes obituaries
from the Yell County Records newspaper (Danville) and the Post Dispatch newspaper (Dardanelle)
from the early 1899 to mid-2007. This collection is maintained in a set of file cabinets, arranged
alpha sequence with 1 obit per page. We estimate that there are over 12,000 obituaries in this
collection.
We have just started the process of scanning and making the scanned images available on this web site.
We have recently scanned the F - M obituaries which is about 4700 obituaries. As we complete a batch,
we will be adding them to the site.
